Sightseeing

The fortress is visible in any part of Knin, and is an essential place to visit. In our opinion, it is best for an evening walk to enjoy the amazing view of the sunset on the mountains. There is also a restaurant that offers local cuisine, and is worth visiting just to enjoy a drink with the best view in Knin.

The source of the river Krka is under this waterfall. The best time to see the waterfall is in the autumn or spring – sometimes during the summer it completely dries out. It can be reached with a short drive or a 45 minute walk.

Dinara is the tallest mountain in Croatia. We like to admire it from a distance, but for the more ambitious there are hiking trails to the top. It is a long hike, and proper walking shoes are necessary. Check the Hrvatski Planinarski Savez/Croatian Mountaineering Association website for advice before travelling! (http://www.hps.hr/english/dinara/) The start of the nearest route to the top is about 20km away.

The city of Šibenik is an hour drive away, and is a beautiful historic town, with plenty of restaurants and things to see, as well as shopping. We recommend a visit to the Cathedral and to the city museum, followed by coffee or a meal somewhere in the old town.

An absolutely gorgeous spring, as well as a drive through some beautiful mountain scenery. You can follow it up by driving just a little further to get food at Bife Una.
