Located on the beautiful River Walk and the Emma Hotel. There are plenty of shops and places to eat from fancy food to donuts Try Bakery Lorraine for salads and coffee, and don't leave without some macaroons for later. The lovely courtyard, food court and splash pad is perfect for a evening picnic. During the summer there is an Airstream DJ playing music till 11pm.

This is the perfect reason to come to San Antonio. The River Walk has about 23 miles of walking/biking trails and has different parts for different purposes. 1. My choice is to take an attentive stroll on the River Walk and marvel at the commissioned artwork and landscape. The city spared no expense to make your walk immensely pleasurable, memorable, romantic and safe. Its well lit and paved for strollers, wheelchairs and seniors. Start at The Pearl to view the magnificent artwork. 2. The heart of the river is in downtown San Antonio. Plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from but a bit touristy. 3. Another great choice is to bike the trail to visit the historic Missions. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After you see the Alamo, visit Mission Concepcion. Its the closest mission and is about 2 miles from downtown. Go on a bike to get the full experience. There are five other Missions along the trail that get overlooked so drive and make it a half day to enjoy all of them.

Super cute sandwich shop and bakery owned by the wife of Armie Hammer. Cupcakes galore. I like the chocolate cupcake with caramel sea salt frosting and the Mexican brownie. Only one exit away. Close by. Explore Alamo Heights while your in the hood. People who live in Alamo Heights are called 09ers. Look for the boujee shops and restaurants.

If you want the "real-deal" Tex-Mex this is the place. I grew up eating here at least twice a week, and still do. This is where the locals eat so the clientele has been eating here all their lives. The service is fast and the waitstaff yells out you order in a language only they know. Everything is delicious , but I highly recommend the Cheese Enchiladas and a sweet tea. $7
