Deepwood is unique in that the volunteer-maintained gardens range from forest paths to flower beds to topiary all in a small area (that doesn't feel small) based around a historic house that's open for tours. The gardens are free and you can always find a quiet spot. Larger Bush Park adjoins Deepwood.

This is a park for long walks, if you'd like them, or jogging. There's an art museum, two playgrounds, a greenhouse, and a museum (admission fee) on the grounds. Wide variety, well maintained.

Four minutes away (straight shot from our house), easy to navigate, and inexpensive! They have a great food selection and essentials -- everything but clothes. They also have a small deli section if you want to grab a quick meal. and bulk candies.... :)

I rarely leave Craft Warehouse without finding something fun that I didn't know I wanted. Beading, stickers, 25-cent scrapbook pages, paint kits, tie-dye, and a bunch of packaged kid crafts. Buy something to entertain your children on the way home.
