An easy walk from the house, MOTAT has a lot of transport exhibits (mainly road vehicles). A free 5 min ride on a vintage tram takes you to MOTAT 2, which has an excellent collection of old planes.

A basic but cheap takeaway where you can get all kinds of food, - fish and chips, burgers, Chinese. Many of my guests have used it and I've never had any complaints about it.

Haven't been here for a while but it's a treat, - a really excellent zoo. Apart from the animals I like it because it has fantastic trees and landscaping, - a gorgeous place.

Great new place for coffee and breakfast, - an 8 minute walk from the house. Getting very good reviews from locals on FB and from my AirBnB guests. Open Tues-Sun 7am-3.30pm. Try their eggs Benedict!

Good new Indian restaurant near St Lukes mall. They have a vegetarian menu but have meat and fish dishes too. $10 lunch specials, - amazing value and I think $10 mains on Tues and Wed evenings.

You should definitely visit this place for a coffee or food. It's brand new (October 2016) and everyone is raving about it. Check out their website, - these guys really have a vision, - a special place (I think, even though I haven''t been yet...).
