This place is a harbor-workers' hangout. There is a good dive-bar on one side and a comfort-food diner on the other (open until 9pm.) Get a tuna-melt. Friendly, open staff, and on Monday nights there is a piano-bar.

Alki beach is beautiful. On clear days, you see the Olympic range across Puget Sound, and all the way up to Whidbey Island. On the way out there, you will see the most spectacular view of Downtown Seattle there is. Full of diners and shops, with a wide footpath and sandy beach, this is a favorite destination for all kinds of people.
