Customs and culture

Montecristi Town

Is the home of the Panama hats. Montecristi was formed during the first years of the Spanish conquest, possibly between 1536 and 1537, with settlers from Manta who left their village fleeing pirate attacks. You can visit the Civic Center" Ciudad de Alfaro" was made out of appreciation for General Eloy Alfaro Delgado, leader of Ecuador.
