  • My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the cabin. I especially enjoyed cooking in the beautiful kitchen, chopping wood and building fires and going for walks in the forest. Brooke was a great host and very hospitable. I highly recommended staying here!

  • We thank Brooke for her wonderful welcome. Brooke answered our questions very well and within a reasonable time. Plan to do the grocery shopping before, as the amenities are rather far away. The accommodation is very beautiful and the kitchen is very complete. We keep a very good memory, thank you again!

  • Brooke’s cabin was amazing! So amazing that I wanted to extend my reservation, but unfortunately it was booked. Very well cleaned and updated with nice appliances. Definitely check out that tub in the bathroom, it’s to die for!

  • Amy and Reg are great hosts! They have thought of everything you might need for a little cabin during a quick trip and made it feel like our own home!

    Noor2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cozy place with a great view. We even had a fridge full of snacks and bagels for breakfast waiting for us.

    Meridith2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s place is a gorgeous guest house perched on top of a large hill that provides for excellent views ! The space is very stylish and looks as if a professionally decorated. Reg let me in the unit when I arrived and is a very friendly. The hill was a bit challenging in mud season but I had all wheel drive and studded snow tires . But if one wants the views makes perfect sense the road is a bit of a steep climb . I would guess the xc skiing from the guest house is excellent . The hot tub was perfect, super clean ! a short walk but made it even more enjoyable to get in the hot water . The whole property is immaculate and you can see the thoughtful effort that’s gone into the whole estate . So picturesque could be a location for a movie . A+

    Andrew2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of our best Airbnb experiences! The Airbnb was super clean and very lovely. The entire place was beautifully decorated and had many thoughtful touches. Bagels were provided for breakfast as well as a full fridge of juices, snacks, coffee and more! We used the hot tub ever day that looked out over the mountain and their farm. The dogs were super sweet and the entire weekend was perfect! Thank you for your great hospitality you, can’t wait to come back

    Tess2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous space! Fabulous hosts! Not enough stars available to rate it all the stars I'd give.

    Faith2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amy and Reg are amazing hosts with an amazing property! The views are better than any picture. The amenities are so nice and everything was so clean! Having coffee in the morning looking out at the mountains is something I will certainly miss! Can't wait to go back!

    Michelle2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s house was absolutely beautiful! The hot tub was the best part of our whole trip! The house is beautiful and over looks a beautiful view! Amy and Reg were both so accommodating to everything! Only thing was the house was located on top of a huge hill that my little Hyundai Elantra had a hard time getting up, so just be mindful of that if you have a small car. Other than that the space itself was amazing and I would love to go back

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). A camping spot on the farm. Bring your tent.
The farm is a busy place with lots of animals lambs, chickens, and Rosie oh my! and lots more. Bring your tent or I can set one up for you for a small fee. Recreation area with basketball, horseshoes, hiking trails and more
  • Brian and Terry are great hosts, and the camp site is a beautiful place to stay the night.

    Luisel2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the farm! It was a last-minute find, so we really appreciated the “insta-book” feature of this air bnb. We felt like we had our own private campground, equipped with a personal petting zoo too (the pigs were SO friendly!)! The landscaping was breathtaking, to say the least. Our tour-guide (their pup), Bella, was also amazing and made our trip complete. We really enjoyed the assortment of lawn games that were at our disposal. If we are ever back in the area, we would definitely want to stay here again. Brian was extremely quick with responses. He and his wife were the sweetest -they were extremely thoughtful and hospitable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We would highly recommend this air bnb for anyone looking to camp out in VT!

    Jamie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location and great vibes. I will be back.

    Mathew2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very good place to camp and plenty of trees for a hammock. Be sure to communicate with Brian for specific directions or you could miss it. Brian is a great host and very friendly.

    Nathan2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Brain's place is the perfect place to get away from everything! We had the most perfect view of the stars and such a quiet and peaceful environment. Brian was a great host, so friendly and generous. The road to his place is a bit bumpy but it's so worth it!

  • What a great spot. Our family of 3 stayed for 9 days, and couldn’t have been more comfortable. Cookware, cutlery, whatever you might need to cook at home was there. Nice big fridge and freezer, hot showers with good pressure, fresh towels, great bedding. BTW the bed is super comfortable, as is the couch. We were plenty warm, slept and ate well, and enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful spot. Amy watched out for us with the winter weather, and plowed whenever needed so we could get out easily. You won’t regret staying here :) Great experience.

  • Peaceful and quiet, clean house, stocked kitchen, comfy bed, beautiful woods, kind host, couldn’t have had a more of perfect getaway!

    Corey2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. Absolutely beautiful surroundings nestled in the Vermont mountains.

    Thomas2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s home was a perfect weekend getaway in Vermont. It had everything you need and allowed for a more off the grid experience, which was exactly what we were looking for! Amy even came by on the morning of our last day to say we could stay a little longer than checkout. Very kind of her! I would definitely recommend it to couples or a small group of friends who want to disconnect for a weekend and enjoy the surroundings. Certainly hope to stay there again!

    Matt2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amy was an incredible host. Leading up to my trip she offered to stock up the fridge and told me about restaurants that people tend to like when they visit. I also saw a ton of moose which was really cool cause I’ve never seen one before.

    Aaron2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night in Amy's cozy house in the beautiful hills of Vermont. The house itself is very well equipped -- including a fully-furnished kitchen -- and Amy is kind enough to put some food in the fridge beforehand for our breakfast! The living room is spacious, yet cozy, and very comfortable. Our one issue was that Amy doesn't check her messages in the afternoon or evenings (which, to be fair, she does warn about). Nothing serious happened, but we had a minor issue and tried to contact her when we arrived at around 4pm but we got no response until the next morning, which was too late. However, she was very kind in her response and felt very bad about what had happened (which again was not very serious). Apart from this, we loved our stay and hope to make it back some day!

    Santiago And Evgeniya2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a great peaceful stay. The cottage was super warm and homey. Norwich and Hanover are only a short drive away. Highly recommend the Tavern in Lyme. Amy went above and beyond to ensure to stock the kitchen perfectly. Amy and her dog Goose were very welcoming. It is the perfect place to stay when visiting Vermont and New Hampshire.

Architectural gem, hidden in the VT woods, Villino Totemsin, "cabin of totems”, mid-century modern, timber frame, partially designed by famed Chicago architect A. Richard Williams. Built of whole trees (totems). Magical, funky, rustic, quirky, comfortable. Setting: private, woods. View of the river valley, 2 stone fireplaces, huge windows, hot tub and a Finnish style steam sauna. Near lakes, rivers & mountains: swim. skate. ski. hike. soak. 15 minutes to Hanover, NH. INSTAGRAM= @villinototemsin
This timber frame home was constructed using entire trees, harvested from the property, they stand, like totem poles, visually joining the surrounding woods. The south-facing, wall of glass window blurs the boundary between inside and out. It's like living inside the Nature Channel, in a reverse snow globe, surrounded by weather, but cozy, inside. Two stone fireplaces flank the main space, to enjoy firelight (during cold months), one even has a built in oven that can be used for cooking, if desired. Wide pine and oak floors made from timber from the property and milled just up the road. There is space to prep and eat contained in the rental suite, but the full kitchen, on the main floor, is available for guest use. (Please let me know, if you're interested in using the main kitchen.) • The hot tub is available for an additional fee of $50, please ask, for availability. • The Finnish steam sauna is available for an additional fee of $35. Privacy • Note that the Sky Room itself is private, with bed, table and chairs, lounge area, etc.. The loft area is semi-private, open to the main body of the house. There are folding screens to create privacy, but it is open to the ambiance, sounds, etc. of the main floor, below. Again, the loft is open to the house, semi-private , which really needs to work for you. Please consider this, before renting. Thanks! • FYI: This rental is for the Sky Room Suite, which does not constitute rental of the entire main floor. You are invited to pass through the main floor space, yet be aware that we live there and you will find evidence of our lives there. Entire House Rental is possible, but this listing is for just the Sky Suite, a private room with it's own bath, loft and deck (with view: open in winter, leafy in full spring/summer). • The toilet is a septic system: only human waste and toilet paper go into it. Other materials can damage the system and cost thousands of dollars to repair. Please, be thoughtful with the septic system! Follow on instagram @totemsin Coronavirus Note: Due to the extra cleaning needed, to be sure that the space is safe for the next guest, check out time may be earlier (9-9:30am). Arrival time will be pushed back an hour, to 5pm, to allow for extra cleaning. Also, a $20 surcharge will be added to the cleaning cost. Heat will be via a pellet stove that is in the basement and space heaters, throughout the house, as needed. • For same day bookings, I appreciate direct contact to be sure I can accommodate you. If you would like to book, same day, please send a note! (Generally, it's possible and only rarely not possible.) Thanks!
The neighborhood is very rural. This house is in the woods and other homes are only visible from the edge of the deck, or through the woods. None the less, we have a variety of great restaurants in the area and Hanover, NH is right down the road (15 minutes) where concerts, movies, dance performances, etc. are usually available. WARM WEATHER SPORT LAKE MOREY: A large (600 acre) lake, a mile away and is great for swimming, boating, and maintains an fantastic ice skating track in winter. The Lake Morey Resort (at Lake Morey) has an 18 hole golf course (par 70), club house, bar, spa and special events. RIVER SWIMMING: Holes abound, nearby, I'll leave a listing in the house. They are perfection. Really. HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE: Ask about a package deal, including a 1–1.5 hr balloon ride over the gorgeous Connecticut river valley. ORGANIC FARMS: Ask about visiting a local organic farm. FARM TO TABLE: Local farms produce cheeses, meats, maple syrup and much more. Ask about getting access to these delicious treats. A listing of great visits will be available to guests. HIKING: Trails are available all around the local area. For a bigger climb, the White Mountains are about an hour and a half away, providing excellent mountain hiking / climbing and more. GOLF: An 18-hole course is about a mile from the house. CANOE THE CONNECTICUT RIVER: Ask about a package deal including a guided canoe trip down the Connecticut river. WINTER SPORT SKI/SNOWBOARD: A ski slope (the Dartmouth Skiway, visible out the front window) is about 15 minutes away and has two chair lifts, and bunny slope, lodge, rental center and very reasonable rates. Two larger ski areas are each 60 miles from the house: Killington, Okemo and Stowe are outstanding options. Ask about a package price including Ski/Snowboard lessons at Dartmouth Skiway (15 minutes from the house!). CROSS COUNTRY SKIING: Readily available near the house. The Lake Morey Resort golf course (1 mile away) is an excellent choice. ICE SKATING: Several local ponds offer skate rental.
  • Our group greatly enjoyed the stay. Beautiful home in a quiet town!

    Diane2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home! Lovely decorations and well kept space. Definitely stay here, the hot tub was so worth the extra money

    Kristin2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • A very cool, relaxing, hippie vibe. The hot tub and views are amazing. Harrison’s windows are sick in the house and we enjoyed it so much!!

    Cj2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Harrison was super friendly and helped us find things to do around the area. I would definitely stay there again. Super clean and his house so beautiful. Harrison was very understanding that we had to leave early for a family emergency! I would recommend this place to anyone and tell anyone how friendly Harrison is

    Jess2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Harrison is a host with the abillity to make everything run smooth and comfortable, by answering every question asked, as well as questions you may forget to ask. The home is a blast. There is always something that grabs your attention and proves fascinating. You feel like your in an art gallery or modern museum. The structure and the amenities (tub, balcony, hot tub and sauna for alittle extra) are peaceful and exciting, all at the same time. Spend a night, spend a weekend, or spend longer, but definitely go.

    Jonathon2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • SUITE DREAMS ARE MADE OF THESE! Although I have come across quite a few enchanting, wonderfully magical places and hosts in my Airbnb travels, I still continue to be bowled over, and Harrison's place is no exception. If I were to try explaining the transcendental peace entertwined with moments of overwhelming exuberance and epiphanies of creative expression experienced here, it would ultimately unfold into my next novel, so suffice it to say, you MUST come to this floating fairyland located just below the clouds of Heaven to see for yourself. If you're lucky, you may even find yourself being guided by a mystical being in the guise of a precocious child through paths of wonder and discovery.

    Melanee2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • They will have what they expect no doubt

    Gülden2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Harrison was very accommodating and friendly. It seems like most of the bad reviews are people who just haven't read the description well. I would recommend driving a capable four-wheel car if you go there when snow is on the ground but that applies to Vermont in general as well.

    Kyle2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda's place was lovely! Exactly as described - no surprises. Beautiful scenery, quiet evenings, fireflies, and so many stars! There was a little noise during the day, but that was to be expected per Amanda's description. Amanda was a great hostess - super responsive, and since we stayed over the 4th of July, she and her family gifted us a box of sparklers, which I thought was very sweet. We'd definitely stay again!

  • Kyle is a great host who prides himself on his guests’ satisfaction. We were only in the apartment for one night but it was a cozy place to relax, make dinner, shower and sleep. Nice big tv, comfy queen bed, fully equipped kitchen and plenty of towels & blankets handy. Can’t beat the value if you’re going to be in the area!

Welcome to our updated 3 bedroom 2 full baths country home. Downstairs is a mix of hardwood floors in living room and kitchen, with carpeted bedrooms. New tile floors in the bathrooms and laundry room. TV/ family room downstairs, along with a reading room off the master bedroom, and a playroom upstairs for the kids. Home is located in a quiet end of road location, with quick access to local amenities and 5 minutes to the freeway. Ideal family vacation. Unplug and get away to the country.
  • *5 Stars* Jade and Joe were the perfect hosts! Beautifully restored historical country home located on a huge piece of farm land, where there was so much to do. Downtown Bradford was a stone-throw away and full of places to eat and shop. Also a great scenic drive to Loon Mountain. What I loved most were the scenic views of the fields and woods from all sides of the house, including a fantastic view of Mt. Washington from the back porch. I also had the pleasure of meeting Joe and his family's awesome dog Max; Joe's an absolute genuine guy who not only made us feel at home, but did not hesitate to offer his assistance with anything to make stay more enjoyable. My family was sad to leave after only a couple of days, which is why we definitely plan on booking here again for a longer stay. Thank you again Jade and Joe, your home is an absolute Gem! P.S. - My dog had SO much fun tapping into his wild side, exploring, and playing with the neighbor's extremely friendly pups. He was absolutely exhausted.

    Sean2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jade's place was great. We had plenty of room to relax in the house with plenty to do to keep us busy and not bored. We had a great time exploring outside in the fields and sledding in the snow. It felt like we were home and didn't have to worry about anything.

    Jamie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing house would come back, it's super clean and comfortable has everything you need

    Karen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This house was exactly what we hoped for! The beautiful location, large kitchen and living room were perfect for us. Nicely decorated and very comfortable mattress! We can’t wait to go back!

    Jeannine2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t regret staying here, definitely in the top three locations we have stayed in. The house is perfect for a bigger group, and the space outside is breathtaking.

    Elizabeth2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very nice, clean and quaint. Also a nice quiet location. Would highly recommend.

    Paul2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely pristine spot in the Vermont countryside. This trip was our second stay at the location, and once again, the hosts and location do not disappoint. Thank you again for the wonderful stay, and we will certainly be back!

    Carson2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t say enough positive things about this place! The view is breathtaking, the land & the house offer so much to do. It is all the seclusion you want with all the amenities but town isn’t too far away ether. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer, but we will be back!

A 6 min. walk to Lake Fairlee, 23 mins. to Dartmouth or Dartmouth Ski-way, our Airbnb includes a 1000 square ft room in a lovely garden setting. This separate house built onto ours has a private entrance and offers hardwood floors, radiant heat in winter, large windows, a private kitchen, private bath, garden views and 2 spacious semi-private sleeping areas - one queen bed, one single bed, plus 2 queen futons in shared spaces. We are cleaning re CDC & Airbnb guidelines to keep everyone safe.
Our place was designed for music gatherings and over night guests with social ambiance in mind. But the large room also serves as a quiet environment for just one or two people to relax, read, meditate, watch movies or work. There are stairs leading up to the loft with three alcoves for sleeping areas. We provide folding Chinese screens for additional privacy. Each alcove has a window view. We are only minutes away from Dartmouth and the many cultural gems and natural beauties in the area. We welcome people from all backgrounds.
We live on a small residential street in the village of Post Mills one of five tiny villages in the rural town of Thetford, in Central Eastern VT. Post Mills is populated by full time residents and also has a vibrant summer community. The four camps around our 450 acre lake have been in operation since 1906 leaving much of the shoreline still wooded. Scenic bike rides, rivers and hiking trails on public lands are minutes away. We recommend the Post Mills Airport for balloon rides and our town beach, Treasure Island, if you're looking for a community atmosphere on the lake. From June to mid-October treat yourself to the produce and organic cheeses at Cross Road Farm located 1/3 of a mile from our place. You'll find art galleries, theater, summer concerts, delightful restaurants, shopping, church suppers, antiquing and more beautiful natural settings within easy reach of our village.! Ask us!
  • We had a great time! Very cozy with nice decorations. Hosts were very nice and responsive.

    Gabe2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Pippa and George's place is incredibly welcoming and warm. We were only there for a few days, but could have easily settled in for a few weeks. The house is set up as basically one large space, with an attached kitchen and bathroom, and a loft for sleeping. We went for local hikes by day, and played board games by night. There's a sunny plant filled nook which was the perfect place to read a book and watch the sunset. Pippa met us on our arrival, and was very helpful in explaining the area. I can't recommend their place enough!

    Alex2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to stay in an inspiring space, built by a luthier and Yoga teacher than check this place out, walking distance to a lake, etc etc our first Airbnb stay. Exceeded our expectations.

    Frank2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great, relaxing getaway here. The pictures really don't do the space justice, we were blown away by how wide open yet cozy the entire place was. The ping pong table, puzzles, and record player were excellent touches that were a part of our routine every day but really there's so much to do here for anyone looking for a quiet retreat from the world, those are just a few examples. Or, if you want to go out and about, Pippa and George provide a whole binder full of curated local experiences they recommend! Very thoughtful. We miss our time here already!

  • Beautiful and tranquil spot!

    Leigh2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Pippa's place is a wonderful place to spend any amount of time. Pippa is a wonderful host and the house is full of charm and extremely clean. Lake Fairlee and Lake Morey are close enough to make a very easy day. This is a tremendous place to stay.

    Elliot2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Pippa and George's place! Pippa and George were extremely kind hosts and we enjoyed talking with them. We also really enjoyed seeing where George's beautiful guitars are made. The space was great with so many lovely plants! Very close to the Lake Morey ice skating trail, places to ski, and many great trails for hiking! Highly recommend staying here!

    Alyssa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Pippa's place was great for a winter getaway with a few girlfriends. The space was exactly as described, very clean, and had lost of puzzles, games, and coloring books which we loved. Pippa greeted us upon arrival and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend it!

A quiet location in the country, we’re located 25 minutes from Hanover NH, Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, as well as Vermont Law School and many summer camps such as the Aloha Camps, Camps Farnsworth, Billings and Lochearn. Located right around the corner is the Pema Osel Do-ngak Choling Buddhist retreat. There are two local hiking trails: The Cross-Rivendell and Appalachian Trails; two large lakes: Lake Fairlee and Lake Morey.
This house was the original one-room schoolhouse converted into a residence.
This neighborhood is very rural. One would want to appreciate being away from it all.
  • Stayed for 1 night at Richards. I had a lovely stay in an amazing tranquil setting. Lovely comfortable bed and pillows, always nice. Fully recommend for anyone wanting a quiet retreat, and peace and quiet.

  • Very cool house! Nice view, comfortable furniture throughout, a fully stocked kitchen, and a hot tub- what more could you want? The basement bedroom is super cozy between the bed, couch, great tv and little fireplace heater, you almost don’t need to go upstairs at all! And although it was just 2 of us and we didn’t need to use the loft bedroom, those beds looked super comfortable as well. We really enjoyed relaxing and playing games on the main living room couch and taking in the view of snow on the trees. All in all, this is a great place to stay, not to mention a great value. Stay here if you have the chance!

    Ashley2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying at Jennifer’s place! My boyfriend and I had such a relaxing time there. The hot tub was amazing. The area was so quiet and peaceful. Jennifer was very prompt and helpful in her replies. The kitchen is fully stocked with full appliances, dish ware, etc. so it was perfect for cooking in. The house is so unique and so spacious. Perfect for couples or for larger groups. I am definitely planning on returning with friends!

    Gabryjela2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the space! It was perfect for a getaway in the woods with the convenience of some necessities close by.

    Kathryn2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • You’re in the wilderness! It’s very off the grid and a great place for some true relaxation. The backyard is perfect for your dog to stretch their legs! The house boast lovely rustic decor with beautiful windows that face the mountains. The house had everything you need for cooking (including spices!) and had a great oven/stove top. I truly can’t speak enough on how wonderful our stay was.

    Delaney2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a wonderful relaxing time in an amazingly beautiful home. Jen has everything thought out thoroughly for your stay. Very clean and easy to communicate with. I'd recommend this place to anyone that wanted to just escape and relax. First vacation I ever took that actually felt like a vacation

    Joshua2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer’s cabin in the woods was outstanding! It’s a perfect getaway that is close enough but also far enough! The space was impeccably clean and Jennifer provides plenty of cooking supplies (including some basic pantry items and spices), board games, books, DVDs and a sound system! The hot tub was clean and pure bliss after some local snowshoeing day trips. (Snowshoes provided by Jennifer). The couch was insanely comfortable and the perfect spot for reading and looking out the giant windows at a gorgeous view! The internet worked well, plenty of hot water for showers, comfortable beds... honestly, this place has everything you could want or need for your getaway! We would highly recommend staying at this gem in the woods and would be delighted to return!

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The bow house was amazing. it had charm and lots of little details to make your stay perfect. host were super friendly and easy to communicate with. cant wait to return

    Gina2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay here at this beautiful little (but big) cabin. So peaceful and quiet. If you’re looking to get out and relax in the woods this property has great little trails that surround the property for peaceful nature walks. You may not have cell service but to have high speed internet in the middle of nowhere is a pleasant surprise and most welcome. There’s a even a hot tub that my girlfriend always looks forward to. We will be back for a third time sometime this summer and fall.

This is a TRUE tiny home located in the beautiful Upper Valley area of VT! Super cozy and convenient to Lake Morey, Lake Fairlee, Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital and Ohana camps! This private tiny house includes a sleeping loft (must climb a ladder), futon couch (for your third wheel or child), fresh linens, dedicated Wi-Fi, a modified kitchenette, separate parking, outdoor area and TV.
This is perfect getaway for those looking to explore all the Upper Valley has to offer or a convenient spot to rest your head as a Lake Morey Resort wedding guest, dropping off the kiddos at Aloha Foundation camps or reunion/graduation at Dartmouth. The separate bathroom has a hot shower, 100% cotton towels, hair dryer and toiletries. The living room is equipped with a futon that can fold out to a full bed - a foam mattress pad and extra linens can be found in the closet to avoid needing a back-e-otomy. The HLTH also has its own dedicated high speed Wi-Fi connection so you can stream anything or log into Prime/Netflix through the Amazon enabled 55 inch TV. Or you can unplug with board and card games and a nice collection of books. This is a small space, but cozy and convenient. To avoid both of us feeling awkward about bad reviews, remember: • You must be able to climb a ladder • There is no kitchen sink or stove • Parking map needs review • This is located right next to our home (but still feels private)
Fairlee is a true GEM. What we lack in quantity, we make up for in QUALITY! Samurai Soulfood is our local restaurant and has delicious vittles and cold local craft beers on tap. Chapman's General Store has a great wine selection and all the Vermonty treasures you could ever want, stop by for a bottle of champs and local maple syrup! Wippi-Dip, is a Fairlee institution and conveniently located right next to Samurai Soulfood for after dinner ice cream and brain freeze! Lunchbox is a great sandwich and quick breakfast spot. Fairlee Diner is a local favorite for down home breakfast with the best ladies in town serving you. Hannaford is about 8 mins up 91 for more in depth grocery needs with Kinney Drugs across the way. Drive time to UV neighborhood: Norwich/Hanover - 18 min drive on 91 S WRJ - 20 min drive on 91 S Woodstock/Queechee - 30 to 45 min drive, 91 S to 89 N Windsor - 40 min drive on 91 S Up North: St. Johnsbury - 40 min drive up 91 N Greensboro/NEK - 1.5 hours

    Eian2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place! Perfect for a weekend getaway- loved skating on lake morey and coming back to the cozy house to watch a movie. Angelia & Josh were super responsive and had so many personal touches that made it special. Would definitely come back, and would recommend!

    Rose2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This space was absolutely perfect for my husband, 10-year-old daughter, and me for three nights. We've been wanting to skate Lake Morey for several years and finally, the weather and school vacations aligned for good ice. We spent our mornings down at the lake, and our afternoons hanging in the tiny house, reading and Netflixing (Stranger Things and the Birch Log fireplace, to up the hygge by a hundred). We were there when it was below zero, and we never would have known—the house is warm and cozy and well-heated. The house is small (as we expected) but mighty: excellent use of space (we had lots of skating equipment, but it tucked away easily in closet and built-in), cozy lighting, handy fridge, microwave, and kettle (with tea, coffee, and instant oatmeal offerings); shampoo and conditioner and a blowdyer. Also: Mach-speed WiFi—really fast downloading on my phone. Out last night, it warmed up into the 30s, and Josh and Angelina put out logs and starter so we used the fire pit.

    Rory2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Tiny house was cute and quaint tucked out in the back of their house,on a hill. Good for a simple get away. Choice to sleep in the attic on a full size mattress or on a futon on ground floor. Quick oats and snack bars provided with disposable utensils and a big-ass TV awaits you! No kitchen sink or stove so no cooking here. But all else is tip top.

    Eyva2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Angela and Josh were great! They really go above and beyond. I would add that the ladder to the loft might be unsuitable for some people, but it worked for us.

    Bronwyn2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house is a tiny gem tucked into a beautiful area, and it made our trip to skate on Lake Morey so much more special. Angelia & Josh are fantastic hosts and have everything you need taken care of. Absolutely would recommend to anyone looking for a fun little getaway!

The Stagecoach Stop Hostel, located on the second floor of the historic (ca.1830) Church-Orr House, offers accommodations for up to six people in three refurbished bedrooms. The Church-Orr House was once a stagecoach stop on a Boston to Montreal stage run and once again offers lodging for travelers. It’s very handy place to stay if you are visiting Vershire, and a good alternative to a motel for people visiting adjoining towns such as Chelsea, West Fairlee, Thetford, or Fairlee.
Total of 4 rooms: 3 rooms with 3 single beds, and 1 room with a double bed. Beds with bed linens Towels Upstairs shower, toilet, sink; downstairs toilet and sink An upstairs lounge with comfortable seating, local phone, and a large collection of books (take one, leave one!). Access to kitchen downstairs (stove+ range, fridge, sink, coffeepot, microwave.) No pets No smoking No alcohol Access to the library and Made-In-Vershire Shop downstairs during their open hours. (Arrangements can generally be made to get into the store, which sells local crafts and foods.) Thé Church-Orr House is a community center and library that hosts events. Meeting times are listed on the white board in the kitchen. We are a non profit and procédés from rentals go towards these events.
The Stage Coach Stop Hostel is located within 1.5 hours from Killington, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and Stowe for alpine skiing. .5 hours to King Arthur Flour. 5 minutes from Pema Osel Buddhist Center. Lake Morey Resort is one half hour from the hostel and hosts the longest skating trail in the country at 4 miles long, ice fishing, and pond hockey is also popular at the lake. Lake Fairlee is also close by and Treasure Island is a great stop to cool off in the summer. Snow mobile access and The Cross Rivendell Trail are close by for hiking, snowshoeing, or cross county skiing. Snow Shoes are available for rentals. Visit us in autumn and check out the Sheep and Wool Festival or the Worlds Fair in near by Tunbridge.
  • We really liked the place. It was confortable and cosy! We also used the kitchen, we had everything we need!

  • Cozy place with a homey feel for a hostel. Lots of space, too. Lovely historic feel to the place.

  • This place is full of wonderful memories from my days volunteering at the local summer camp years ago, and it still just feels like home. Vershire is a little town with lots of hidden secrets and magic and really friendly, creative and caring people. Shirley was so welcoming and offered to keep me updated on local events so I can come back and introduce my friends to Vershire too!

    Jason2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great kitchen downstairs, library, books upstairs, 4 bedrooms, living room upstairs. Old fashion, 1800s building. Had fun, finally met Shirley, and I’ve donated things to the hostel.

We recently renovated this portion of our building specifically for traveling nurse/medical professionals. We are 10 minutes to CVMC, State Psych Hospital and several Long Term Care Facilities. Although small town living, we have several fast food restaurants, grocery stores and malls. You can find what you need without traveling more than 10 minutes.
We have Hannaford's Supermarket as well as McDonald's restaurant 1-1/2 miles away. Dunkin' Donuts (5 minutes) and Starbucks (10 minutes) away.

  • Cute little farm, really friendly vibes upon arrival. Just a place to put a tent in their backyard and wake up to the sheep and ducks. Welcomed to use bathroom in their house. Wayyyy out in the boonies.

Our modern cabin was built in 2017 to optimize sunshine, open space, and efficiency. The 1100 sq ft includes an open living + kitchen area with lofted ceilings, two bedrooms and bathroom. Well insulated and warmed by radiant floors and woodstove. We love dogs, families + friend crews, so feel free to make yourself at home here. Ideal for both access to town (Dartmouth College and DHMC) and escaping it all in the woods. NEW PICTURES COMING SOON - message with questions!
The home is perfect for long stays with all kitchen appliances, as well as convenient for weekend getaways to the mountains. Let us know your plans and we would be happy to provide ideas. Health is a priority for us, so you'll notice that we use non-toxic, sustainable, and organic products, materials and cleaners. We ask that you respect this as well by not introducing synthetic fragrances (perfume, cologne, soap, candles). Our well water provides clean, mineral-rich and chlorine-free water to the whole house -- no filtration needed, and is tested regularly. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> While a car is required, we hope that it remains a tool for connecting you to the beautiful outdoors whether it be on your skis, hiking boots, or porch lounging. - 10 minutes to Dartmouth College and DHMC, town of Hanover including the Coop grocery store, Still North (local bookstore/cafe/bar), Farmhouse Pottery and Simon Pearce (handmade local pottery and glass, or visit their workshops 25-45 minutes away), Montshire Museum of Science, and Hood Museum of Art - 15 minutes to White River Junction including the Upper Valley Food Coop (our fave natural grocery), Juel Juice (GF and organic cafe), Wolf Tree (craft cocktail bar), Big Fatty's (casual barbecue restaurant and bottle shop) - 15 minutes to the Greens (trails upon trails for cross country skiing, trail running, hiking, walking - dog friendly, river crossings and so much beauty), and the Dartmouth Skiway (petite though awesome 2-chair ski resort) - about 1 hour from major ski resorts including Killington and Cannon etc. There are also tons of backcountry skiing options. For that local knowledge, message us! - other places we like: Fable Farm (wild yeast cidery and winery, tasting room open Saturdays in Barnard VT), Abracadabra Coffee (local small batch roaster, baked goods + taco truck, open weekends only in Woodstock VT), Worthy Kitchen (burgers and drinks in South Royalton or Woodstock VT), Antique Mall (all the overwhelming kitsch in Quechee VT) - summer swimming and canoeing ideas coming soon! there's a lot of water around here
We are just on the edge of Hanover, New Hampshire, full of academics and wildly intelligent folks in the medical field. Locals are tough, shovel their own snow into their 80s, and love to get outside even if they grumble about it. We are on the border of Vermont, divided only by the Connecticut River. Vermont in particular is full of the entrepreneurial spirt - there is so much opportunity here and young businesses are popping up all the time in a creative and supportive environment. Our particular street you will find quiet, as neighbors are fairly spread out. Feel free to wave on the road!
  • We had a great time here! The cabin is just as bright and clean as in the pictures. Really enjoyed the spacious back deck as well.

Architectural gem, hidden in the VT woods, Villino Totemsin, "cabin of totems”, mid-century modern, timber frame, partially designed by famed Chicago architect A. Richard Williams. Built of whole trees (totems). Magical, funky, rustic, quirky, comfortable. Setting: private, woods. View of the river valley, 2 stone fireplaces, huge windows, hot tub and a Finnish style steam sauna. Near lakes, rivers & mountains: swim. skate. ski. hike. soak. 15 minutes to Hanover, NH. INSTAGRAM= @villinototemsin
Note: In the listing text is a mystery question that I will need you to answer. I've had too many people rent, without having fully read the listing, so, to be sure, please answer the question, when you book. Thanks! Follow on instagram @totemsin This timber frame home was constructed using entire trees, harvested from the property, they stand, like totem poles, visually joining the surrounding woods. The south-facing, wall of glass window blurs the boundary between inside and out. It's like living inside the Nature Channel, in a reverse snow globe, surrounded by weather, but cozy, inside. Two stone fireplaces flank the main space, (NOTE: I don't allow guests to use the fireplaces, or open flame, in the house, when I'm not there.). Wide pine and oak floors made from timber from the property and milled just up the road. There is a separate food prep space contained in the upper "Sky Room" and on the main floor, a large full "cooks" kitchen, with a double oven, etc., available for guest use. (Please let me know, if you're interested in using the main kitchen. FYI: We live in the house, most of the time, so the refrigerator may be full-ish and the look and feel of an "in use" frig. You will find evidence of our lives, in the house, (burning material in the in the fireplace, my daughters work table, with her projects, shoes in the entry, etc.). The house is "funky" and "arty", with collections of curious objects, masks, sculptures, etc., arranged in groups, around the space, on tables, shelves, etc.. If you are uncomfortable with this, please do not rent. We live in the woods and do not lock the front door. Life is relaxed, here. As the house is heated partially with wood, in winter, though it is swept, vacuumed, moped and cleaned, frequently, you will find dust, in the house. If this alarms you, please, don't rent. If you do rent, i will assume that you and your party have read the listing, seen the photos, and are good with a wood-heated (somewhat dusty) log chalet, in the woods, and will enjoy it! Coronavirus Note: Due to the extra cleaning needed, to be sure that the space is safe for the next guest, check out time may be earlier (9:30am). Arrival time will be pushed back an hour, to 5pm, to allow for extra cleaning. Also, a $35 surcharge will be added to the cleaning cost. Bedrooms: • The Sky Suite is the upper floor of the house, a private room (10' x 30' with 14' ceiling (at its highest point.) with it's own bath, loft and deck (with view: open in winter, leafy in full spring/summer) • The Sky Suite has an additional Full-size bed on the loft, not within the room, itself. • The Red Room is on the main floor with its own claw-foot tub, sink and toilet in room. It boasts a very comfy queen-size 4-poster bed, leather armchair and small closet. (Note: the tub facet water has a drip, and i haven't been able to find the specialty washer, to stop the drip. So, please reach behind the tub to turn on the water shut off, to get the water to flow.) • Additional Bed: The Fireplace Bed. This is a full-size bed in the main area on the main floor, yet sequestered off in the SouthEast corner, bedside the Fireplace, surrounded on two sides by floor to ceiling windows. While it somewhat open to the main floor, it is a fantastic space for sleeping, in full view of the dawn. • The hot tub is available for an additional fee of $50. • The Finnish steam sauna is available for an additional fee of $35. • The toilet is a septic system: only human waste and toilet paper go into it. Other materials can damage the system and cost thousands of dollars to repair. Please, be thoughtful with the septic system! Privacy Note: The Sky Room itself is private, with bed, table and chairs, lounge area, etc.. The loft area is semi-private, open to the main body of the house. There are folding screens to create privacy, but it is open to the ambiance, sounds, etc. of the main floor, below. Again, the loft is open to the house, semi-private , which really needs to work for you. Please consider this, before renting. Thanks!
The neighborhood is very rural. This house is in the woods and other homes are only visible from the edge of the deck, or through the woods. None the less, we have a variety of great restaurants in the area and Hanover, NH is right down the road (17 minutes) where concerts, movies, dance performances, etc. are usually available. WINTER SPORT A ski slope (the Dartmouth Skiway, visible out the front window) is about 15 minutes away and has two chair lifts, and bunny slope, lodge, rental center and very reasonable rates. Two larger ski areas are each 60 miles from the house: Okemo and Stowe, both outstanding options. Cross country skiing is readily available near the house. The Lake Morey Resort golf course (1 mile away) is an excellent choice. WARM WEATHER SPORT Lake Morey is a large (600 acre) lake, a mile away and is great for swimming, boating, and maintains an fantastic ice skating track in winter. The Lake Morey Resort (at Lake Morey) has an 18 hole golf course (par 70), club house, bar, spa and special events. River swimming holes abound, nearby, I'll leave a listing in the house. They are perfection. Really. There are many local farms in the area that produce local foods, cheeses, meats, maple syrup and more. A listing of great visits will be available to guests. Hiking trails are available all around the local area. For a bigger climb, the White Mountains are about an hour and a half away, providing excellent mountain hiking / climbing and more.
  • This is a magical place! And great host. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

  • If you ever find yourself near Fairlee, VT and need a place to stay - this is certainly the place to stay! Located just a few minutes away from the highway (but very much in the middle of the woods) this provided a great place for our group to stay while being able to adventure out whenever needed over the weekend. The decor was interesting and kept our entire group constantly discovering something new in a nook and cranny, and the house itself had some seriously interesting architecture! With access to the entire kitchen and a quick setup with a projector to watch streams off of a laptop, the layout of the house was perfect for us to cook as a group and spend time together as a whole group. This is perfect as a little retreat / getaway for any group! Harrison was a great host keeping up with messages and communication throughout our weekend.

    Carl2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a fun get-away, do not miss this funky villa in the Vermont woods. We spent a girls’ night in: cooked dinner, played games and enjoyed music in a gorgeous setting. The hot tub should not be missed! Sitting in a wood-fired hot tub amid snow drifts is a delightful experience. The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms are well-equipped. One of my friends woke briefly during the night and watched snow gently fall outside from her bed. This was my first Air B&B experience and I’m impressed. Harrison is a terrific host and made sure we had a good experience.

This sweet little house is great for those who want to get away from it all. Very quiet and private and peaceful. Almost no environmental footprint. Electricity is from solar panels, just for lights and charging your phone. It's like camping but with many more creature comforts and no neighbors. During winter months the house has no water and the only heat source is a wood stove. It will be nice and toasty, but will require you to build a fire and keep it going.
The house is 12 feet by 18 feet with a loft over a little more then half of the house. The Queen bed is very comfortable. The bunks are great for kids and are big enough for an adult but not ideal. The house does not currently come with linens, so bring sheets pillowcases and towels. There is a four burner gas stove with an oven that all works great. The fridge is quite small and a cooler is a handy thing to hold additional supplies. There is an area for having a campfire outside and the wood stove will heat the place in the blink of an eye.
The neighborhood is rural. The next house is maybe 1/4 mile away. There is a mountain bike camp across the road from the driveway and you might hear them in the woods on their bikes. Bradford, a small Vermont town, is a 10 min drive away with a selection of tasty restaurants and other stores including Farmway, an outdoor/sporting goods and farm supply store, not to be missed. There is also a giant Hannaford in Bradford that has everything you could possibly need. There is also a pond on the property which you are welcome to use. It is a short walk from the house (15 min) . The White mountains are within 1.5 hours from the house, some closer, Mount Moosilauke, some farther, Mount Washington. There are hiking/biking trails on the property for your use.
  • Such a perfect cozy little space, absolutely loved it. Got great tips from the owners about the area, super clean and hospitable, had a great time and still can’t get over how cute it is

  • This tiny house was a wonderful winter getaway. We were so cozy inside, had all the supplies we needed and had a blast snowshoeing around the property. The views were stunning as was the skating at Lake Morey nearby. Jon was clear in his instructions and answered all of our questions very quickly. It made planning a breeze. Would highly recommend!

  • This cozy little cabin is perfect if you want a simple and beautiful spot to enjoy nature and each other. The cabin, with its solar lights, composting toilet, and wood stove, is comfortable and peaceful with big windows to look outside. There is lots of land to explore with excellent wildlife tracking opportunities and fun sledding hills, too. We came for three nights with our 2 1/2 year old and loved every minute.

    Nicolia2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice private area. We enjoyed the hiking path right near the house that travels up to views of mountains, a pond and meadow. Home was very warm once fire gets going, lots of light from numerous windows. Nice level of isolation. Hosts were nice people - very helpful and responsive.

    Matthew2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was an awesome place for a weekend getaway! The tiny house is super cute, clean and nice and toasty with the fire going. Plenty of woods surrounding the cabin to explore. There are pots and pans for cooking. Jonathan provides all the information you'll need. Great communication. You'll be happy you stayed here!

  • Denise's place is fantastic! She was a very relaxed and hospitable host, and her newly renovated house was a great place to stay. She opened her whole home to me and welcomed me in as if I was a friend. I would highly recommend her house to anybody wanting to stay in the area.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Denise’s awesome big blue house! It was the perfect location to get to DHMC (15 mins), WRJ/VA, and downtown Hanover (maybe 7 mins). Latham House is right down the way too! The house is impeccably clean and she has thoughtful touches throughout. The room was spacious with a large closet. The bathroom is huge! She had lots of recommendations for fun things to do in the area and even took time to take me to try mountain biking! Very welcoming and felt like home away from home. Highly recommend Denise’s home for anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish place to rest while exploring the Upper Valley or for rotations.

We offer a quiet bedroom in our home. This is the perfect place to come to unwind, relax, enjoy the beauty of Vermont, or adventure in the great outdoors. You are welcome to explore our property, including fruit/nut orchard, chicken coop, mushroom growing operation, extensive vegetable gardens, and maple syrup production; we'll lend out snowshoes, skis, skates, beach towels--whatever we have! All season dependent of course. We enjoy meeting new people, and look forward to meeting you!
Ben and Amanda are the inhabitants of this lovely home! Ben grew up here and has a strong tie to the land. We often have another roommate or two, so the place is lively at times. We are eager to chat and learn from new people (if they are also interested) but we are quiet and respectful and generally go to bed early.
The village of Bradford is small, with a big history. Be sure to check out the local museum at the Historical Society to learn more! The Local Buzz is a great place to grab coffee and a meal, Boch Park offers a close-up view of our waterfall, and Wright's Mountain has a variety of hiking trails to meet the desires of most people. Farm-Way is another hot spot in town, for everything from outdoor gear to animal feed. We have many other shops, including antiques, cheese, and jewelry repair.

  • I can’t say enough good about My experience here! I was taking a multi-day class at King Arthur Flour and chose this listing over staying at a hotel. I’m so glad I did! The drive is literally 5 minutes to King Arthur and the suite of bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom is very private and comfortable. I really appreciated how communicative Rob was — he made checking in so easy and was very friendly and easy to talk with (he’s a huge music buff and recommended great albums I had never heard of!) Highly recommend this listing — I’ll stay again if I’m in the area! Thanks again, Rob!

A place to unplug, break out a book, pull out a board game, listen to the birds. Take a step back, very tranquil and peaceful. We live on the property. Our home is located a fair distance from the the cabin ...you can get a visual in one of the photos provided. The entire cabin and its contents are for your use. There is a living and dining area...a small kitchen w a stove. There is a propane refrigerator. There is a 1st floor bedroom with 2 twin beds and a loft area w a full size bed. Please note- there is no cell service in the cabin and service is very spotty in the area.
We live in the hills of central Vermont on a lovely dirt road surrounded by beautiful trees and many wildflowers. We have a small farm which consists of 3 mini horses, 2 full size horses, 2 goats, chickens and of course a dog and cat. We live simple and are off the grid.
  • We came in late October, a little late for swimming and wondering whether it would be too cold to enjoy this off-the-grid experience. In fact, it was (and is probably always) the perfect time to be there! The wood stove worked like a charm, the cabin was super cozy - and we even enjoyed being "stuck" inside (finally felt my mind calm down from city life!) during a Sunday where it rained the whole day. We had no need to shower during the 3 days we were there, and all the other amenities were not only sufficient but really quite fun (to light the gas lamps, wash dishes using gallons of water, explore the area to find wifi to do a bit of work - there's a lovely coffee shop if you go south to Royalton). It was very special meeting the animals and chatting to Bill about the local history. We really felt like we'd traveled back in time. The night sky was breath-taking. We remembered to take a headlamp on a walk we did off the property - which was good because the sun set very quickly and we had to find our way back in the dark! Bit spooky, but the cabin welcomed us back and was a true sanctuary during our time. We can't wait to come back in all the other seasons!

  • If you're looking for a place to disconnect and unplug from your phone, this was absolutely perfect. It was everything I imagined and more. Like the rest of the reviews confirm, Tania and Bill were amazing hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed and then some. The wood stove made the place feel cozy and the views of the land are breath taking. Absolutely would come back

    Jenna2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tania was a warm and welcome host while giving us plenty of space to have our own experience. The cabin was cozy and stocked up with everything we needed. Only wish was for unscented candles for ambience without scent as I am sensitive to that! The pond, the animals, the scenic drive into town, were all stunning. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of some unplugged connection time.

    Em2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a truly magical place! Spent the weekend here with my girlfriend playing board games and reading. If you're looking for a break from civilization this is it!

    Marshall2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. A classic fish camp lovingly preserved. No modern amenities, but everything you need and really cozy. Tania & Bill are fantastic hosts.

    Kathy2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place!! This was actually our second time coming here...it was just so perfect last time (and this time!). We explored new trails on the property (there are endless trails to explore) and bonded with the amazing animals again. Tania and Bill are super friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. They even took us for a ride on the horses which made for an incredible birthday present! All of the extra thoughts and touches in the cabin are wonderful. We can’t wait to come back next season :-) it surpasses our expectations every time!!

    Lorraine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Definitely recommend going in the fall to see the colors. Would recommend arriving before it's dark because of the drive. Tania prepared amazing zuchinni bread, orange juice, fresh milk and eggs for our breakfast, which we ate by the pond. Book this place!!!

    Miranda2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was a piece of heaven. We could not have wished for a more wonderful place for a retreat, and it wasn’t just that the place is endlessly beautiful, which it is, but also that Tania and Bill are such beautiful souls. I really hope to see them again soon.

Very tranquil and quiet, the house is located off the beaten track. All windows look out at nature. It's located just far enough away yet close to everything.
This is a private house in a very quiet neighborhood. You can hear an owl hoot, it's so quiet. It's not uncommon to see deer in the front lawn.
  • Margaret was such a great host! The place was always spotless and she gave me the space I needed. No being forced to interact constantly. I worked a lot of hours while I was there and didn’t always want to talk after a shift. I will definitely be back, and I would refer her place to anyone I know!

  • This was our third time staying here. So needless to say, we really like this place. It is very comfortable with a private bed and bath and close to Dartmouth. Margaret is an awesome host and makes us feel at home. After having stayed at 4 other places near Hanover this is easily our favorite.

Step away from the hustle and enjoy our beautiful valley and our historic farm rich in natural resources. Our farm is well known in the Upper Valley for its round barn, a 10 sided remarkable structure built as a dairy barn in the early 1900's. This farm was in the Robinson family for seven generations and was recently conserved by the Vermont Land Trust and it's Farmland Access Program. We feel so humbled to be the next stewards of the land and would love to opportunity to share it with you.
This is a private room in a shared guest house, right next door to our private residence. We have one other bedroom currently available for guests. There is one shared bathroom on the first floor. We will provide a simple self serve breakfast, available starting at 7am. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, yogurt, granola, fruit and a homemade baked good. Please let us know if you have any dietary concerns.
Strafford is a rural town with about 1000 residents. It is nice and quiet with gorgeous scenery. There are two convenience/general stores and a gas station about 10 minutes down the road, near the highway. For larger shopping areas you will need to travel 20-30 minutes. We suggest stopping for groceries etc on your way.
  • Super lovely place!

    Mia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ben & Hillary were fantastic hosts. I guess I didn't realize the room was in a separate house that was actually a B&B in a previous life. Made the stay very comfortable, interesting and enjoyable. The front porch looks like it will be magic in warmer months. I was there to check out houses down the road in Sharon, Hillary and Ben gave fantastic advice on the area, definitely making me want to move to the Upper Valley. Just a lovely, lovely stay.

    Ben2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and cozy place, friendly hosts and delicious home-baked granola. I would definitely recommend this place.

    Ruihan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay with Hillary & Ben in Vermont. They made the space (kitchen, dining room, living room) available and took care of most things including keeping the wood fire alive. Self-serve breakfast in the morning is great, especially considering the value. They also have a self-serve farm stand where they sell delicious eggs, maple syrup, and meat all from the farm. Would happily stay again.

    Thomas2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A smooth stay in a beautiful, pastoral setting. Hillary and Ben are lovely people.

    Andrew2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a wonderful stay! Hosts Ben and Hillary were great and have two very friendly dogs. The bed was comfortable and seeing the animals on a working farmhouse was such a great experience!

    Dion2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Winding Brook Farm is a peaceful unique place to be in Vermont. The house sits on a beautiful open piece of land, with lots of trails to walk and a giant old maple tree that's a good destination for a picnic. There's also a special old round barn full of animals and maple syrup for sale. Hillary and Ben are proud owners of their farm, providing a fresh breakfast and information about the past and present of the area. Keep a look out for the gorgeous, friendly white sheep dogs too, who kind of steal the show. Thank you Hillary and Ben -- I'll be back!

An old camp brought back to life. This sweet spot is a new renovation built to blend modern with rustic by a craftsman with a love of wood. You will see seven different kinds of wood on show here. See if you can name them all during your stay. From the loft is a wide view of the special kitchen with cabinets made from Tap Hole Maple and a spectacular Birdseye Maple counter top.
    * Easy access from the highway and you will not need 4x4 to get here. * The loft is accessed by a hefty ladder with railings but is steep. Use of the loft is at your own risk. * While there is full plumbing, the water is spring fed, so please be mindful of usage.
In the woods but close to the town of Bradford with several good restaurants and grocery shopping. Bradford is also home to the well known Farmway store where you can shop for just about anything. Close the Lake Morey in Fairlee for summer or winter activites, hiking in the White mountains, mountain biking, ATV use, and snowmobile access to the VAST trail system. Or, hike my land out the back door to the top of the mountain with beautiful views of Mt. Moosilauke NH. 2 mi to Bear Ridge Speedway (May - Oct) 2.9 mi to Bradford Golf Course 3.2 mi to Farmway 9 mi to Lake Morey 9.7 mi to Lake Fairlee 9.5 mi to Northeast Slopes for skiing at a $15 price tag! 26 mi to King Arthur Flour 26 mi to Montshire Museum of Science 26 mi to Mt Moosilauke, NH 36 mi to Lincoln, NH
  • This was a really special place and we had a great time here. Steven is an amazing host, he met us at arrival even though we were late, gave us a tour of this cabin and its background. It`s probably one of the most beautifully made places I`ve seen, really special. Everything is hand made and has a history. Its a nice area to go for walks in and our daugther had a great time exploring the little things outside in the forest by the cabin. I would reccomend this place and we`re definitely coming back.

    Johanne2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for a getaway! The camp that Steven has built is absolutely beautiful, very spacious, and has everything you need to feel in nature, with the comforts of the indoors! There is a beautiful hiking trail right behind the camp that leads to a picturesque summit! Steven and Melissa were very friendly and helpful when we met them at the camp. We will definitely be staying here again!

    Barbara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful with a woodworker's touch. Steve did a wonderful job renovating the cabin. He was extremely helpful and forthcoming with local spots to visit and hiking in the area. Please be someone who will appreciate the hard work he put into this place and its clean and cozy atmosphere when booking your stay. We will absolutely be back!

  • Had an amazing stay at skips place! Matt was an amazing host . The house was so inviting, super clean and cozy. Just what I needed to spend an amazing birthday weekend. My family and I intend on coming back soon!

  • We had a great stay at Skip's Cabin. We didn't leave the cabin for the whole weekend! Our dogs had a great time on their first holiday. We had fun exploring the property. We didn't see another person the whole weekend. We had a peaceful, relaxing weekend. We will be back!

  • Skip's place is paradise--- it's well loved and surrounded by beauty. Its such a comfortable place to stay-- warm, cozy, inviting both inside and outside.

    Cara2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. My boyfriend and I and our dog needed a place to stay in the area fairly last minute, and decided on Skip’s place. We are so glad we did! From the peaceful secluded location to the spacious yet cozy feel of the home, we truly enjoyed our stay. It is exactly as pictured, but even better. The kitchen is well-stocked, and perfect for cooking full meals. There is a large dining room with a beautiful view of the property, a living area with a comfy couch & a tv with streaming capabilities, and the master was wonderful. Very large and comfortable bed, with plenty of skylights and a huge master bathroom with a wonderful jacuzzi. There are also tons of books, games and puzzles to keep you occupied if you’re spending the days inside to escape the cold like we did. The house is basically stocked with anything you could need, and there were even toothbrushes and toothpaste provided. We have visited probably a dozen AirBnBs in Vermont over the last 2 years and this was easily one of our favorites. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to spend a few (or several) nights in a beautiful place and relax, I absolutely recommend this house. Especially for the value. Thanks Matthew, we will definitely be back!

    Ashley2020-02-15T00:00:00Z

Just 10 miles off the Interstate, but you'll feel like you're way back in the country. Enjoy long view eastward across the Connecticut River Valley to New Hampshire mountains.
Dawnside is a hillside home on a dirt road, tucked into the woods with a view of local hills and distant mountains and plenty of space to unwind. Built over many years, it started out as an 800 sf, off-the-grid home. Today the now 1,700 sf house has electricity and WiFi, and can easily accommodate four or five, although it's cozy for one or two as well. There's a queen bed in the large (16x20) cathedral-ceilinged master bedroom, a full bed in one small (10x10) bedroom, and a twin bed in another small (10x10) bedroom. With its central location between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, you can use Dawnside as a base camp for day trips to go hiking, kayaking, fishing, and exploring the area. Or stay right here and take a walk on the property's woods roads and listen to the wind in the trees. Relax on the deck and watch the sunrise with your tea or coffee, or enjoy your favorite evening drink as you watch the colors shift and change on the mountains and valleys as the sun sets behind you. Lie on your back at night and enjoy the bright stars - there's virtually no light pollution up here on the hill. Light a campfire, toast marshmallows, make s'mores, and watch the fireflies. Rainy day? Curl up with a book in the cozy library nook. The TV, along with a selection of DVD's, is temporarily located in the nook as the living room is being renovate d. There's no cable service but there is WiFi so you can hook up a laptop or Fire Stick and stream video. The kitchen is small but well equipped: refrigerator with ice maker, 5-burner electric range, microwave, dishwasher, and large single-bowl sink. Small appliances include coffee maker, coffee grinder, electric kettle, blender, hand mixer, and 4-slice toaster, and there's a French press as well. There are plenty of plates, silverware, glasses, pots, pans, utensils, and cookbooks. Plastic children's plates, bowls, cups, and silverware are also provided. A selection of coffees, teas, condiments, and spices are provided. A gas grill is located on the back deck for outdoor cooking. There is a full bathroom with tub/shower upstairs. A small 3/4 bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), with a 30" door, is off the laundry room. The laundry room has a front loading washer and dryer and fragrance-free laundry detergent is provided. A 50 gallon water heater provides plenty of hot water. Cell service is spotty at best and seems to change with the wind, weather, and number of birds flying overhead. Verizon works better than other carriers, although you may need to stand in the parking area to catch a signal. There is a landline for your use.
The house is located 1.25 miles (2.0 km) "off the blacktop," halfway up a 1/2 mile (0.8 km) long, quiet dead-end road. There are neighbors but they can't be seen from the house. Sometimes it is so quiet here that you can hear kids playing on the next ridge over... 1/4 mile (0.4 km) away. Quiet country back roads are great for walking, running, and bicycling on. The last 1/4 mile on your way back is a bit steep. Northeast Slopes, where you can ski "the way it used to be," is less than 10 minutes away. It's totally volunteer-run, nature-dependent for snow, and features up to 12 trails, 360' of vertical height, 2 rope tows, and a T-bar - all for a $15 day pass. There's no night skiing but there is reasonably priced food at the snack bar. You can snowboard, too. Bring your own skis and/or boards. If you're going to use the tows bring leather work gloves (or buy them at the snack bar). Burke Mountain and the Dartmouth Skiway are about an hour away. There are two general stores within 10 minutes. The Roots School, which teaches traditional skills, is just 6 miles/12 minutes away. The Mountain School in Vershire is 13 miles/25 minutes. The town of Bradford, with several restaurants, a Kinney Drugs pharmacy, a large Hannaford's supermarket, the awesome Farmway feed/clothing/shoes & boots/furniture store, the Red Kite Candy kitchen and store, and the Bear Ridge dirt race track, is 20 minutes away. The city of Barre ("Bear-ee"), home to famous granite quarries you can visit, is half an hour out. Vermont's capital, Montpelier, is 45 minutes away, as is the up-and-coming White River Jct, Vermont and the home of Dartmouth College: Hanover, New Hampshire. Waterbury, VT, home of Ben & Jerry's, is an hour away and Burlington, VT is an hour and 15 minute drive. A drive-in movie theater is about twenty minutes away. Camp chairs and outdoor blankets are provided so you can grab them and go watch a movie under the stars. In mid-September the Tunbridge World's Fair is just 35 minutes away. Several area artisans participate in May and October Open Studio Weekends and invite you to meet them and see their work. White Mountains attractions, including Lost River Gorge and Polar Caves, are about an hour away. The house is located midway between the Appalachian Trail and Vermont's Long Trail with access to each taking an hour or less, and there are several hiking trails in the area including the 3.5 mile Wright's Mountain Trail just 15 minutes away. Fishing, boating, and swimming are available at many places within a half hour or so radius and Vermont Fish & Game offers free boat launch access at many locations (Note: some lakes and ponds do not allow motorboats). Sporting licenses are available at the East Corinth General Store or online.
  • Eric’s home was everything we hoped for and more. The house was very clean. Eric labeled everything in the house and left notes and instructions through out the house. The home is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The house was very homely and relaxing. Eric made sure we had everything we needed from the moment we arrived. Communication was great from start to finish, our two dogs loved it there too, so much land to run around. We will definitely visit again soon.

  • Erich’s place is beautiful, it's like a dream house. You will have everything that you need and more! He is a kind person and always ready to help. One of the coziest places where we have stayed.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Dawnside. It was a nice, relaxing winter getaway. Erich went above and beyond our expectations. He was quick with communication, and provided little surprises around the house that we loved! The views are wonderful. The place is clean. We highly suggest staying at Dawnside. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks Erich!

  • This was my second time staying here and I think we will continue to do it every year going forward! Erich is a great host, with an immaculate home. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone.

    Matt2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful and restful place to spend a weekend. We were delighted by all the thoughtful touches throughout Dawnside—and my husband let me sleep through one of the most beautiful sunrises they’ve ever seen!

    Meghan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Winter at Erich's place is the epitome of hygge (google it). The house itself is tremendously well thought out - we marveled at all the details that went into building such a wonderful place all weekend, and I'm sure we could have kept marveling for weeks longer. I could list all the great things about this place (the beautiful surroundings, the quiet neighborhood, the comfortable furniture, all the little household items available to you, etc.) but to short cut to the point - you definitely won't be disappointed staying here. We will definitely be going out of our way to stay here again.

Welcome to historic Freedom Ring Farm, built in 1771 and located directly on the border of New Hampshire and Vermont on the Connecticut River. Located just 15 minutes to Dartmouth and just across from Fairlee, VT and the Lake Morey resort. My vacation house is situated away from the road on a 15 acre farm on gorgeous rolling land that gently makes its way to the river. The farm even includes an old airplane hangar!
My guesthouse was completely remodeled to the studs in late 2018 and features a private entrance, living room (with sofa bed), fully-stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, master bedroom, bathroom and of course a decorative mouse hole! The unit has brand new windows, high-density insulation, heaters, and everything you need to have a cozy stay. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, and even a washer/dryer combo unit. It comes stocked with flatware, dishes, and pots/pans. Enjoy the serenity and breathtaking beauty of the farm, river, and Upper Valley. Diners, Grocery Stores, Coffee Stands, Antiques and restaurants are just 5-15 minutes away. Note: My property manager and cleaner’s name is April and may be your primary contact through the experience.
Orford is a rural community on the Connecticut River in western New Hampshire. Home to approximately 1200 people, Orford is known for its historic “ridge” homes, as well as family farms and small businesses. Much of Orford is forested, providing for a variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, boating, snowshoeing and hunting. Chartered in 1761, Orford has a history of close ties with its neighboring towns on the Vermont side of the river. In 1998, Orford and the Vermont towns of Fairlee, West Fairlee and Vershire formed the pre K-12 Rivendell Interstate School District. Mount Cube, Sunday Mountain and Cottonstone Mountain, Indian Pond and Upper and Lower Baker ponds are distinctive features of the Orford landscape. The Appalachian Trail passes over the summit of Mt. Cube, and the cross-Rivendell trail connects Orford to neighboring Vermont towns.
  • My husband and I booked a reservation but were unable to stay due to the coronavirus shelter-in-place/quarantine orders. Although we are still waiting to hear back from Airbnb itself regarding our reservation/refund (I’m sure they are significantly backed up, I was on hold for more than three hours and did not get through), we did hear back very, very quickly from April regarding the situation and advising a cancellation. She was so kind and helpful, made me appreciate them and look forward to a time when we can actually enjoy a stay at their place — it seems so peaceful and lovely! Thanks April and Sam for the excellent communication!

  • The space was perfect for my mom, sister and I. We were visiting for a King Arthur’s baking class and it was just a 15 minute drive away. The property is lovely and the bnb itself is beautifully decorated and very homie. Next time we’re in that area, we’d love to stay again!

  • This was the most beautiful, quaint, GORGEOUS farmhouse apartment in the world. It was nothing short of magical for a girls weekend away! Will absolutely be coming back.

  • Cute, charming, cozy, stylish, welcoming. We arrived a bit late due to weather (February snowstorm, classic VT!) and April was wonderful. Loved our stay!

  • Great spot in a very cute and cozy guest house. The space is well appointed, very comfy bed and great rain shower. Great communication, would stay again!

  • Beautiful place to stay. Cozy and cute, with lots of attention to detail in the rooms, which I loved. Hosts are wonderful and great with communication and able to help with any questions. A great stay and that I would recommend and go to again.

  • What a gem! A great space that felt very comfortable with a nice layout and thoughtful decor. Everything is wonderfully updated but still has a cute farmhouse feel. Very clean and well kept. It was -6 degrees outside on one of the nights we stayed and it was nice and warm inside. Would highly recommend!

  • Pictures don't do the beauty of this place any justice. The interior design is absolutely stunning. In terms of comfort: The water pressure and heat in the shower are amazing, the bed is comfortable, the tiny space heats up quickly in the winter, and the fridge is plenty big for holding whatever food you would need. Additionally, this location is excellent - right on Rt. 10 and not far from the interstate and a few good restaurants in Fairlee, VT. To top it off, you can't beat the price. Sam was great with communication and April was lovely when we met her on the property. We hope to be back in the future for another stay.
