Places to stay in South Dublin

Places to stay in South Dublin
The listing is a lovely, modern, log cabin in a secluded spot located in the back garden of a fine suburban house in south Dublin. Free on street parking is available immediately outside the main residence. The listing is suitable for couples or solo travellers. There are no particularly strict house rules; all we ask is that you respect the property just as you'd like your own home to be respected. There is one cat in residence at the property.
Lilac Cottage is a self contained, double bedroom, shower room, full working kitchen and living area with TV/DVD.
Kimmage is a lovely, settled neighbourhood. Several good restaurants are within walking distance as are shops, pubs, parks, and a gym, yoga and pilates. It also has an excellent bus service which will bring you into the city centre in around 20 minutes.
  • I absolutely adored my time at Fidelma's! She was very welcoming and communicative. The place was super comfortable, very clean, and beautifully decorated. I enjoyed having the kitchen as well. The bus stop is very close by and I really liked staying a little bit out of the hustle and bustle of the city. I only wish I could've stayed longer! I would highly recommend!

  • A lovely cute stay away from the hustle and bustle. Easy use of the bus services. Super comfy own space, better than a generic hotel.

  • A lovely place to stay in a great location for exploring Dublin. The cottage itself was comfortable and spacious and exactly what we needed for our mini break.

  • Beautiful and cozy accommodation, romantic and welcoming.

    Adél2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This little place was great. It was a little hard to find just because the street signs in Ireland are not that clear and our GPS wasn’t quite working yet but once we got our bearings it was easy. Fidelma has created a little oasis in her back yard. We enjoyed a nice quiet stay, walking distance to a full service grocery store to buy what you need to prepare some simple meals. She had coffee, tea, and other basics in the kitchen of this little house. We picked up a leap card for the bus at the close by shopping center to ride the number 9 bus into town every day for a little bit of a savings on our bus fare - $2.50 v $3 each way. The bust stop was literally just around the corner. Check in was easy, she was in contact with us the whole time, the bed was comfortable and the place was cute and clean. Message me if you have any questions.

Double bed with private use of bathroom in comfortable apartment in Dublin suburbs. Great for access to the city or Dublin/Wicklow mountains alike. You will be sharing common areas with me and my small friendly terrier cross dog. Tallaght is well served with public transport and shopping amenities.
Perfectly located for exploring Dublin and Wicklow
Kiltipper is on the foothills of the Dublin mountains close to the border with Wicklow, it's a great place to go for long walks with my little dog. The air is fresh and when the weather is good the views can be spectacular
  • Great place to stay. Will definitely recommend to others and will definitely stay here again.

    Sheheryar2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was a great host, and the location was just right. Close enough to the city, but right at the foot of the Dublin mountains

    Gary2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was very welcoming and friendly (as was his little dog Tilly!). Room was clean and comfortable, have booked again for my business trip next week!

    Lee2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Peter is extremely accommodating and very hospitable. He may smoke a little bit, but if you ask politely, he’ll gladly keep it outdoors, but personally wasn’t a problem.

    Carlos2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Room was comfortable and clean and was great to have a private bathroom. Peter was very easy to communicate with, would definitely recommend

    Grace2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We needed to go to the National basketball arena in Tallaght so the location was ideal! Peter welcomed us when we arrived quite late in the evening and took time to chat with us and explain everything about the house. The room was really comfortable, I'd definitely recommend Peter's house :)

    Marion2019-12-15T00:00:00Z

New first floor bunk room, 5 mins walk to Temple Bar, Trinity college & close to all tourist attractions & O'Connell st just 20 min walk. Featuring keyless, digital entry, & self-check in, high-speed wifi & TV, the apartment has all you need to explore from & cook, shower & sleep comfortably in. With a cosy living space to relax in, this suits people who travel light and want to be close to the action without breaking the budget. Great value and super central location.
Paper towels are not provided - this is a choice for the environment and the future. We do not supply face cloths, sorry - our linen company does not stock them. This space consists of a bunk room with own front door access. When you walk in the lobby of the building, apartment is up 1 flight of stairs. In the apartment you have the Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom..
The house is in the Liberties which is one of Dublin’s oldest and most fascinating areas which is a short walking distance to many historical attractions such as Christchurch Cathedral, Teelings Whiskey Distillery, Jameson Distillery, Guinness Storehouse, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Kilmainham Gaol. There are also many café’s, restaurants and bars around the area as well as the house being located just off Francis Street which is known as Dublin’s main Antique street. Meath Street is at the other end of my street which is home to the famous Liberty Market (Thursday-Saturday) and many shops and eateries. There is also a flea market which takes place in Newmarket Square on the last Sunday of every month and this would take approximately 5 minutes to reach by foot. This area is very popular with tourists considering its history and how centrally located it is, it really is a perfect location if you are looking to visit and experience all of what this great city has to offer.
  • Patrick’s flat was a great place to stay for a solo traveler! I was able to drop my luggage off early, and he responded to all of my questions quickly. The location is great for feeling like a local, but everything was still walkable. Would absolutely stay here again.

    Carole2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick’s place is lovely, small but has everything you’ll need! Amazing location, great at communicating with us too

    Chelsey2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place ideal for what we needed. Only issue we had was that we was little cold at night. But apart from that good all round place to stay. Thank you

    Charlotte2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick was amazing ! The place was very clean with a good use of space. I would give Patrick an A++ on communication. He kept me updated on anything going on in the building and was very thorough. Great list of things to do in the city. Location is perfect walking distance from anything you want to do in the city. I would definitely use Patrick if I ever visit Dublin again !

  • Patrick's place is in a good central location of the city. Plenty of things to do and see within walking distance. The apartment is fairly small, so if you need space then this place is not for you. Overall had a wonderful stay in Dublin and hope to visit again soon!

    Regan2020-01-30T00:00:00Z

  • Valerie is a stellar host who exceeds any expectation for thoughtfulness and consideration. Her room was delightful, clean, well-stocked, warm, and comfortable. She was friendly and eager to give any amount of suggestions for local going ons. And above that, she was an excellent emotional stabilizer as we considered what to do about our vacation while in the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic. Couldn’t be more appreciate that she was our first introduction to Ireland, and hope to come back for a more fully realized trip soon.

  • Great place to stay. Private room. Since I was alone the room is perfect and sufficient for sleeping. You don't need more because you are out all day. Breakfast was sufficient. There are shopping opportunities nearby and all in all the city is easily accessible on foot. I am happy to have been here and would love to come back.

    Mandy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice host and nice accommodation for a short trip!

    Tanitha2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a highly commutable location, with the luas and multiple buses very close by in order to travel around the city. The Jameson Distillery is within walking distance, and is a great attraction if you're a fan of Irish whiskey. The host responded really quickly to all my messages and was very courteous the entire time. I accidentally left some personal property in the room and could not return to collect it for a few days after check out but Joe was very accommodating about returning it to me. The room itself was clean and well kept, a bit small as the double bed took up most of the space but it was a comfortable and safe place to rest our heads at the end of the day, which is all we really wanted. There is also an excellent coffee machine in the kitchen

    Caoimhe2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Joe is an excellent host, available by messages at all times, very nice guy. The check in process is very easy, he waits for you to give the key in person. The room is very comfortable and the complementary breakfast is simple but delicious. Thank you for your hospitality Joe!

    Emily2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay here. Alwyn and Jake were both very welcoming. I really liked the room which was spacious and very nicely decorated. The bed was very comfy and warm.

    Dharmaja Hilary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Alwyn is a good hostess. He had a lot of patience with me and my bad English but in spite of everything we understood each other. He did me the favor of storing my suitcase the last morning I was leaving but I wanted to see the Phoenix Park before going to the station. He also recommends sites to see and drink. It offers you coffee and breakfast. The bed is very comfortable and the house is really close to the Temple Bar ... A 20/25 minute walk. But there are buses that communicate very well. There is a park next to his tiny house but very nice to see.

    Ana2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Alwyn is very helpful, she has a dog, Jake, who is fun to play catch with. Great location in a trendy area. Breakfast was great and free parking and a good night sleep.

  • great location, big private room with single bed, power board and chair. a huge amount of pamphlets with info on what to do in dublin, as well as menus and transport info. 2 minute walk to the bus stop where you can get a bus straight to phoenix park. beautiful blessington basin right next door.

    Mikala2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Alwyn is a wonderful host! She is very kind and was accommodating when my arrival time changed last minute. She made me breakfast each morning, even when I had to leave early for a day tour, which is above and beyond! She offered suggestions for a restaurant within walking distance and the food was fantastic. The location is great, in a quiet part of the city but within walking distance to Dublin's top sites. The room is large with a comfortable bed and the best pillows. As a solo traveler I felt so welcome and comfortable in her home. I would highly recommend staying with her!

It is in the heart of the city centre. You can walk anywhere you want to be in a matter of minutes. I love the location, and the atmosphere in the heart of old Dublin. There are lots of great pubs, restaurants and cafes, Francis St (the antiques district), St Patrick's Cathedral and park (love to hear the bells). It is very safe.

Great position overlooking the Liffey. 20-25 mins walk to Temple Bar. Keyless, digital 24/7 check in, chic living room with a great balcony for enjoying the views + full kitchen. A double bed & sofa bed offers comfortable sleeping arrangements for 4. Close to most attractions & cool for when you just want to chill out.
Paper towels are not provided - this is a choice for the environment and the future. We do not supply face cloths, sorry - our linen company does not stock them. Featuring modern bathroom and kitchen, with the benefits of an electric, instant shower and all you need to cook, including kettle, toaster, hob, microwave, fridge and pots, pans and trays. Like all of our apartments, this has all a traveller needs to 'live like a local' and see the sights, without having to take public transport everywhere, or to hire a car. The apartment is on the First floor, but there is no lift available..
Great neighbourhood close to Stonybatter, Guinness Storehouse and Phoenix park. Dublin has always been renowned for its restaurants and cafes and the early part of the Eighteenth century was no exception. On the eastern side of Essex Bridge, in the vicinity of the Custom House a coffee- house called the Cocoa Tree was located. In the recess between the bridge and the Custom House there was a ‘chop house’, known as “Old Sot’s Hole”. This establishment had the reputation of having the best steaks and ale in Dublin. The owner of this chop house was a Mr. Thretford. His golden rule was he never gave any credit to anyone, even the very wealthy. He died in 1742. The chop house still flourished. At a meeting held there in 1757, it was decided that the passage leading from the bridge to Essex Street was too narrow and after discussion, money was given to a Mr Bristow, a Commissioner of the Revenue, for the widening of this passage. Subsequently, a Bill was passed that all the narrow alleys in the City of Dublin, were to be widened. Houses had to be demolished for this work to proceed and certain room keepers and lodgers felt that they should have been given at least six months notice of this fact. Fourteen Bills of Injunction were filed and the authorities decided to react. The roofs of the houses of those who had filed the injunctions were removed in the middle of the night. Panic ensued and people ran into the streets, not knowing what had happened. In 1762, Parliament granted £12,000 for the purchase of all houses, preventing the street widening, from their owners. The street widening was carried out and the new street was called Parliament Street. In 1763, the Corporation of Weavers and other dealers in silk submitted a petition Parliament informing them that there were only fifty silk looms working, where previously there had been eight hundred looms, and asking them for assistance. The Parliament made grants available, to establish a public warehouse, where silken goods, manufactured in Ireland only, would be sold. A house was found for this purpose in Parliament Street and would be used by the wholesale and retail trade. This building was called the Hibernian Silk Warehouse and was officially opened in February 1765. All the wealthy and fashionable ladies flocked there to buy their produce and the silk trade in Dublin received a great boost as a result. The main traders in Parliament Street at this time were wool and textile merchants. A General Thomas Russell, who was banished to the Continent as a result of his support of the United Irishmen, returned to Ireland in the early 1800’s. He was arrested on the 9th September 1803, on the second floor of number 28, Parliament Street. £1,500 had been offered for his capture. He was tried at Downpatrick and executed on the 2nd October 1803. The merchants of Dublin presented a petition to Parliament for a section of land to build an Exchange. This building was to be a meeting place for merchants and traders. This petition was granted and the foundation stone of the Exchange was laid on the 2nd August 1769. The completion of this building took ten years and was finally opened in 1779. Rather than being used by the merchants, the Exchange became a place where public and political meetings were held. During 1798 it was converted into a military depot and court martials were held there. On the 13th of January 1800, Daniel O’Connell made his first public speech against the union with Britain, there. People who were deemed to be part of the revolutionary movement were punished in the Exchange. The public came to view these punishments being doled out. In 1814, a crowd had assembled in the Exchange for the whipping of a culprit. The balustrade in front gave way, nine people were killed and many were badly injured. In September 1852 the Exchange changed its purpose for the final time; it was inaugurated as the City Hall of the Corporation of Dublin.

  • On arrival of the apartment we noticed a leak in the bedroom, Nigel responded immediately to get the issue resolved by sending out a maintenance person. Unfortunately the issue wasn’t a quick fix and we was unable to stay in the apartment. Nigel and his team were absolutely amazing when resolving the issue and immediately found us another air b and b to stay in which was brilliant. genuinely could not fault anything with the apartment or the service, would 100% stay again! thanks Nigel!

  • We stayed at Nigel's, liffey views and we loved it. The pack the team sends over before your visit is excellent and really useful, especially to make the most out of a short stay. We used the pack in the air bnb as well and really enjoyed some of the recommendations Nigel and the team had made. We knew the air bnb looked nice but it was even quirkier and stylish than we had thought in a fabulous location! Check in was super easy using the lock box too. There was a small mishap in the air bnb beyond Nigel and the teams control, but they communicated excellently and went above and beyond to rememdy it, i couldntve asked for better hosts or a better stay!!

Alternatively, the Broadstone tram stop is a 10-minute walk away and can take you to various spots around Dublin. The room is small, but cosy with plenty of storage space. The bed was slightly squeaky but very comfortable. Communication with Lorcan was easy and efficient. Cheers!

  • I had a short but very nice stay! Great communication beforehand, convenient location in a quiet yet lively area. The room was cosy and there was even enough space for me to do yoga in the morning. Thanks to great recommendations in the neighborhood I had a lovely breakfast too :)

  • This place was right where we wanted to be. Close enough to the temple area to walk but far enough away for some peace and quiet. Being above the Jameson distillery was awesome. Anytime we had a craving, we just jumped downstairs for a good drink. Definitely recommend.

    Colleen2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was great overlooking the Jameson Distillery patio. You could sit out on the balcony and enjoy your morning coffee or in the evening a nice drink. Close to a small market and restaurants. Also close the an old Irish pub the Cobblestone where you hear wonderful music. I would stay here again.

  • A very nice place to stay in Dublin. Really central location and a taxi rank outside if you did want to go a bit further! Also close to a bus stop for the hop on and hop off too. There were 4 of us so used the sofa bed and it was very comfortable and we found the place spacious enough for 4.

    Joy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to see the center of Dublin, about a 10 minute walk in any direction will give you a great sense of the city. Temple bar is pretty close as is the Ha’penny bridge. Parking instructions would’ve been appreciated but you can’t win everything. Other than that the place was pretty nice.

  • Anderson and Andrew were real SuperHosts! They are nice, really easy to communicate with, gave us all the necessary information about public transport and the way to access to their apartment. Everything has been thought in terms of equipment (towels, shower gel, toothbrush, universal adapter, mini-fridge ...) to make our stay with them easier. The real plus was the two bus cards to be recharged: we did not need to buy one, and this was practical because it was cheaper than single tickets. Besides, the apartment was very clean. We 100% recommend them! :)

  • My second time here and still one of the best accomodations in Tallaght. The owners are very polite and friendly. Everything was clean and in a great condition. I would book again.

    Julian2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • When you stay with Anderson, you are getting a truly lovely room to stay in in the home of an incredibly caring host. I loved that Anderson and his partner are considerate about the environment and working hard on making everything ecofriendly. We chose staying here for the location and it worked out great. When we came to Anderson with an awkward request, he went above and beyond the call of duty. We had an amazing stay and already looking forward to returning to Tallaght

The location is great as it’s close to a great pub and a number of small restaurants and takeaways. It’s also only 2 mins from the bus stop that takes you to the city centre. We loved Dublin and most definitely will be back!

Great position overlooking the Liffey. 20-25 mins walk to temple bar. Keyless, digital 24/7 check in, chic living room with a great balcony for enjoying the views + full kitchen. A double, single & sofa bed offer very comfortable sleeping arrangements for 4. Close to most attractions & cool for when you just want to chill out.

The apartment is on the second floor, but there is no lift available..

Even my friends that I met up with in Dublin wished their Airbnb was mine because this one was sooo amazing. I highly recommend easy to get to all the spots and just will make you feel at home.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Dublin at Asta's.

    Ryan2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Asta's place is lovely. It's only a short walk from the river Liffey, with some lovely pubs and spots for food right near it. Phoenix park is glorious, and right across the road. For reference, the place is actually on N Circular Rd, just near the Newspoint (Google Maps sent us up a side road, but we sussed it out and didn't go up it) Asta has a great system of unlocking, the hot water is good (you just need to get used to the shower), and the space is lovely. For us, Asta took a while to respond to our messages on the AirBnB app, but they weren't at all urgent, and he provided his phone number to use if anything came up.

    Nicholas2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Asta’s place is super stylish and has a fantastic view of Dublin out the bedroom window. We were given very thorough instructions for check-in, and Asta was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

  • I stayed in Glenn's place with my girlfriend over the weekend and from the moment Glenn welcomed me to the day I checked out I was very happy with everything. His guest house is nothing less than beautiful, he's made sure to add all the amenities one could possibly need and his attention to detail is second to none. The place is not only beautifully decorated but it also immaculate, never have I stayed in such a clean apartment. Although the location is slightly out of the way with regards to the city center, there are plenty of things to do around the area with cinemas, shopping center and restaurants only a short 10 minutes drive away. I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay at his place as there is no other place that I have stayed in that comes remotely close to his lovely apartment.

  • We have not seen Ed personally, although the service has been excellent, he has always been available to us, always taking care of privacy. The room is clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom. In the room we found everything we needed, even to be able to eat / drink something hot. Ed's apartments are a guarantee! Recommended for everyone!

    Fabrizio2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and tidy place.

    Filipe2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • There are different kinds of hosts on airbnb. Some are bachelors share what they got with you, if you and/or him don’t mind, you can even wash your dirty socks and underwear in the same washing machine. But you certainly won’t get no hairdryer for your wife at theirs’. A second type is like at the granny’s, the lady, may be old or young, may cook you breakfast. A third type is like what Ed provides, like a pro, give you what you can expect from a decent hotel, dressing table, hair dryer for the lady, a selection of different tea, coffee, etc. Even more with a microwave, dining tools and mouth wash, except paying less. But you don’t find oven like previous two types in Ed’s, I’m totally fine with it. And Ed communicates well, giving long and specific directions on commute, local food and drink. Ed do provide a laundry basket with the provider’s name, contact and price printed on it that him forgot to mention though. Be aware to read the kind notices Ed stuck on the doors if you are not 6 feet tall, I’m 5’11” and I overlooked them. Some more advises, Ed’s apartment is located at the edge of Lansdowne Valley Park, there is a little quiet stream running by, must be a scene in summer. Along the nearby RED LUAS (Dublin tram system) there is also a river. From Blackhorse to Suir Road LUAS stop there will be swans around the river in winter. They look even more elegant when they are asleep before 7AM, with their head hiding under the wing. Just like white cotton balls floating on the river. To the west is the industrial district, lots and lots of different motor companies, and Bikeworld, the largest motorcycle shop in Dublin, is just under one mile. Surprisingly, the Coffee Studio is run by two Asians, Taiwanese, Teochewese, Fukienese, or maybe from other parts of south Mainland China, providing good western food for breakfast or brunch. My wife is a rice feeding Hakka girl, she usually don’t agree with western pastries but find their food fulfilling. The Halfway House is an old school western restaurant and pub, nothing more or less, good place for a dinner or Guinness. I don’t recommend Asian foods in the city, if you are an Asian. Most if not all of them are modified, not original. I’d rather eat Russian fish & Chips at Beshoff's.

  • As expected, Ed's apartment was very good. Check in was easy and well described. The location is a bit outside of the city center, but you can get to the city relatively quickly and easily by tram. All in all a great apartment with a great price-performance ratio.

My charming and quaint terraced house is located just 15-20 minutes from Dublin City Centre by bus. Its within walking distance of Kilmainham Gaol, The War Memorial Park, The Phoenix Park and the Irish Museum of Modern Art. The perfect base for any visitors
Céad míle fáilte. Welcome to my home. Its a Victorian red brick 2 bedroom terraced house. As the title suggests, its not a very large house but it sure is home. My guest room is a sunny south facing room with hardwood floor, comfy single bed and the perfect spot to rest your head after a day of exploring in Dublin To get to my house from the airport you need to take a bus to the city centre. Either the Aircoach or 747 (Run by Dublin Bus) will take you straight in in about 20mins and costs €6 one way. Then you need to get a 79, 79A or 40 bus to my house. They run regularly from the city centre to my house and the cost is €2.85 (coins only). Or you can get a taxi straight from the airport for about €20-€25 If you’re staying for a few days I recommend getting a Leap Card for public transport which can be bought in newsagents and makes public transport cheaper
The neighbourhood I live in is a fantastic contradiction. It has the benefit of being just a 15 minute bus ride into the bustling and vibrant heart of Dublin but still remains a very quiet and settled little street. At the end of the street is a large park and GAA (our native sport) club. And in less than 10 minutes you can be in the War Memorial Park right on the banks of the Liffey
  • very clean accommodation well citué easily accessible by bus

Our house is located in south Dublin in a quiet area next to many parks and to Dublin Mountains where people looking for adventures like hiking, mountain biking or driving can experience nice panoramic views of Dublin. Also within a short driving distance guests can experience the stunning views of Wicklow mountains where TV shows like Vikings and movies like Braveheart were shot, breathtaking landscapes like Sallys Gap, Guinness Lake and Glendalough. It'll be a pleasure to give guests tips.
The guests can feel like home when staying with us. Can use the kitchen and all utensils, cook and also use the laundry machine. Guests can share the space with us and it'll be pleasure to have a chat and give a few tips about Dublin and Ireland.
There are many local pubs around where guests can have nice lunchs or dinners that aren't expensive at all and also taste some local craft beer and enjoy some live music in the evenings. There are also many " Take Aways" (different cuisines) around delivering untill midnight during the week and untill 2am on weekends, supermakets and shops are within short walk distance, very close to Tallaght University. The house is located right next to Dodder Park where guests can go for a walk beside Dodder River

New first floor unit, 5 mins walk to Temple Bar, Trinity college & close to all tourist attractions & O'Connell st just 20 min walk. Featuring keyless, digital entry & self-check in, high-speed wifi & TV, it has all you need to explore from & cook, shower & sleep comfortably in. The cosy living space has a small sofa bed for 1 person. This flat suits up to 3 people who travel light and want to be close to the action without breaking the budget. Great value and super central location.
PLEASE NOTE - the bathroom is only accessible via the bedroom. Please consider this when booking for guests intending to use the sofa bed in the living room. When booking for groups of 3, this apartment is more suited to people who won't be bothered by the compact size of the apartment, or the bathroom access issues. Paper towels are not provided - this is a choice for the environment and the future. We do not supply face cloths, sorry - our linen company does not stock them. The space consists of a one-bed apt with own front door access. When you walk in the lobby of the building, it is up one flight of stairs on the first floor (no lift, sorry). In the apartment you have the Living Room With Small Sofa Bed, Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom...
Due to it's most central location, this neighborhood is always popular with travellers, international students and locals. Whilst well within walking distance of most attractions, the area is generally more suited to younger travellers or people who are comfortable in diverse, city crowds, populated by people of all classes and creeds. Being so close to Temple Bar, Heuston Sation and many working class pubs, you may see some quite intoxicated locals, but they really are just on their own journey and keep to themselves. Some guests have reported feeling unsafe at night because of this, yet to this day, we have hosted over 1500 travellers without a single report of harm or confrontation ever occurring. This can be validated by checking the many other Airbnb's closeby. The house is in the Liberties which is one of Dublin’s oldest and most fascinating areas which is a short walking distance to many historical attractions such as Christchurch Cathedral, Teelings Whiskey Distillery, Jameson Distillery, Guinness Storehouse, St. Patricks Cathedral and Kilmainham Gaol. There are also many café’s, restaurants and bars around the area, which is home to the famous Liberty Market (Thursday-Saturday) and many shops and eateries.
  • Patrick was a fantastic host, and the place is right in the heart of Dublin market place. Saved us car rental cost as everything is within walking distance. I'd get in touch with Patrick again if traveling to Dublin in the future.

  • This apartment was perfect for my wife and I. The location was great and only 15 minutes walk from Temple Bar area. The Guinness Factory was less than 5 minutes away. Great apartment which made it a lovely stay for us and the bed is extremely comfortable!

  • It was very nice to stay at Patrick's place. He made sure that I got there fine, gave really useful tips and the place was in a superb condition.

  • Very clean and great location! walking distance to just about everything to do in Dublin.

    Sydney2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay in Dublin! Very close to the Guinness Factory tour. About 10-15 to Temple bar area as well. If you are looking to go out in Temple during your stay it is a bit of a hike, but a nice walk! Also, a lot of bars/ restaurants 1-2 minute walk from the apartment (if you are Temple Bar-ed out). A few cab drivers warned us to be more careful in this area, but we felt very safe and secure. The shower is small so if you are a tall person, it might be difficult for you to fit! The interior is very lovely. Patrick was an amazing host and was super easy to connect with/ answer questions. Would totally stay again!!

  • I highly recommend this place! Elva and her sons are very nice and their dog is cute! I did not find it so cold in the house, but the electric blanket is really pure luxury! The room is good as it is! I was there for 3 weeks and I felt very well. You do not need more! Once a week I was able to wash my clothes. The bus stop is almost on the doorstep. I would like to thank Elva very warmly, also for the nice conversations and for the invitation for dinner, which I could not pursue, which I am very sorry. Top accommodation! Great people! Gladly again!
