With guided, professional instruction, you'll have a fun and creative time making an item out of clay on a pottery wheel. I will show you how to work with the clay, get it ready for the wheel, center it, and eventually start shaping. Usually students can make either a small bowl, plate, mug or vase on their first try. You will get up to 30 minutes of time on the wheel which is plenty to create one item, and then you can add accents to your piece i.e. handle and you'll get to handbuild for the remainder of the time (add accents to your piece). You can take the pottery home with you the same day you make them, or—if you'd like—I can fire your work, glaze it, and ship it to you for a small fee. We will begin at the red barn where you will learn about this 12 acre sanctuary and the stories behind the 100+ rescue farm animals living on it. From there we will explore three different pastures that include horses, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats and a goose. While you are here we are thrilled to guide you through an up-close experience with all of these amazing creatures while they roam freely. Many of these animals will walk right up to you to take a snack from your hand or allow you take a close-up photo with them! What you'll do The first step will be to show you the ingredients that you can find in all Oaxacan homes, one of the advantages of our experience is that we have a garden with herbs and organic chilis. Baldo my son will share his knowledge in mezcal. We have an extend variety of agaves and homemade creations that you need to try. An open bar of mezcal is waiting for you. Snacks? Of course but you need to do Oaxacan style which includes worms, chicatanas and chapulines. Fist course we will offer chileajo tostadas and fruit water. Have you heard anything about the metate and how tortillas are made by hand? Here we will show you how to make tortillas, tetelas and memelitas. One of my specialties is salsas made in a molcajete, we will roast the ingredients over charcoal and comal. In every class we make 4 to 6 salsas depending seasonal ingredients. The mole is the emblem of our cuisine and we will make one of the 7 moles from scratch using a metate, you can’t leave our home without tasting our mole negro, chocolate de agua, café de olla, nieves and a delicious cake. Everyone will participate in the different processes, cutting ingredients from the garden, making sauces and of course eating. Remember, when you visit a house in Oaxaca you have to come with an empty stomach. Other things to note The class is available in English too. This experience focuses on the difficult process of making a cigar. From the hand of an experienced cigar roller we will learn to make an examplar, we will explain all the specificities that accompany the process of making this product, from the time it is grown, until it reaches your hands. This will be the perfect time for our CIGAR CHALLENGE, after which we will reward the best cigar roller of the experience. After choosing our winner (special ceremony included), we will go on to what we consider to be an authentic ritual: the smoking of the habano, action that we will combine with other delights, giving way to an excellent pairing among cigars, rum and coffee. And then, SURPRISE, a second contest!! We will be competing among each other to select the person who manages to keep the longest cigar ash, and the one who best performs some other tricks we will be teaching you. This is called: LONG ASH CONTEST. At the end of the experience more gifts will come, and that is because we do not want you to leave without taking with you souvenirs related to this experience, so you will be bringing home with you some amazing memories but also little things that will forever remind you of Cuba. Every parrot has a story. You’ll learn all about our rainbow-colored rescues in Kona’s only parrot sanctuary. We’ll start with our mission: to give every displaced parrot a nutritious diet, large space to fly, and a safe place to interact with other parrots (and people). Next, we'll take a walk around the sanctuary, where you can get to know the range of personalities of cockatoos, lovebirds, macaws, and more species. Throughout the tour, you will have many photo opportunities, especially with our well-trained parrots. Other things to note: Wear casual clothes, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and bring a camera. Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary is also home to two rescue dogs, two Holstein cows and two sulcata tortoise. While we like to keep our group sizes small to enhance a personal experience, we are open to hosting larger family/friend groups with more than six individuals.

Finally, we will enjoy tasting the different plates that we prepared and, in that moment, when we are laughing and sharing our personal stories under the rhythm of drums, you will realize that the simple act of eating assumes mystical dimensions and has the power to bring strangers together like family. At the end of the day you will know how flavors, music and dance tell the story of the desires and struggles of our African ancestors. Comenzaremos visitando el poblado de Santa Maria el Tule en donde podrás contemplar el milenario árbol del Tule, después nos adentraremos a una comunidad zapoteca en donde se conservan diferentes tradiciones como las bodas, sus formas comunitarias de organización, su lengua y el manejo de textiles de lana siendo este ultimo uno de los mas finos y laboriosos procesos artesanales de Mexico, dando como resultado piezas de arte textil superiores a marcas de lujo, para esto conoceremos un Taller familiar en la comunidad de Teotitlán del Valle. Posterior a esto nos trasladaremos a una fabrica de mezcal en donde tendremos una explicación sobre el proceso de elaboración de mezcal en la fabrica para después tener una degustación de los mismos. También visitaras la zona arqueológica en Mitla pueblo mágico. después de conocer la impresionante zona arqueológica y antes de encaminarnos a Hierve el Agua tendremos un "time food" en un buffet de comida tradicional. finalmente nos adentraremos a las comunidades de la montaña para conocer las cascadas petrificadas de hierve el agua. Al terminar el recorrido regresaremos a la ciudad de Oaxaca y terminaremos el recorrido a una cuadra del Zócalo de la ciudad.

I’ll share stories and guide you through several architectural periods, from Spanish colonization to Cuba’s iconic ‘50s. You’ll get a sense of our people, culture, and traditions along the way. After a time of walk and stories inside old town, we'll jump into the modern side of the city, shooting in a convertible car by the sea and feeling the vibes of the Cuban people. Then we'll go to my favorite bar, where we'll enjoy a great view of the city, while we have a drink and I share with you what life is like for a young Cuban photographer in Havana. Our meeting point is outside Inglaterra Hotel it’s located at the heart of Old Havana, from there we will start our walk and shooting, as result you will obtain perfect photos to fit your social media and a beautiful memory from your trip to La Havana, I’ll take you to the most iconic corners of my city and I’ll show you real Cuban neighborhoods as well, visiting them you will gather more information about how Cubans live, our culture, issues and our happiness. In our walk I would like you to tell me about your experiences in the city and it will be my pleasure to talk to you about my vision from our island meanwhile I’ll take beautiful and unique portraits from you while we enjoy La Havana. I recommend to wear comfortable shoes and bring extra outfits if you want different clothing for your photos. We will have a great day, chat, art, photos, history and Havana. If you book the private experience you will have one hour in a classic car. The payment of the convertible is included, you don’t need to bring any cash! As result you will obtain 25 high end and retouched photos of you (digital), besides that you will take home a new friend and a beautiful day in La Havana.
