Places to stay in Llansilin
Converted from a cattle shed into a holiday let in 2011. Compact, simple but comfortable, in quiet rural location with views over open countryside, situated within 2 miles of town centre. Ideal location for relaxing break or as a base to explore the many attractions of local area.
The Host works full time but likes to personally prepare cottage and greet all guests so stays from SUNDAY PM ONLY and also Mondays on Bank Holiday weekends.
  • The cottage is small but well equipped (including cooking ingredients!), suitable for a couple or small family or small group. Great location for explore the bordering towns in both England and Wales. Nature lovers and outdoor adventurers like us will love it. Easy to get to supermarkets and shops in Oswestry. Easy going host is also a plus.

  • We were 3 and stayed for a week. The cottage is very well located and so lovely. Very well equipped. Rosemary was a wonderful host : helpful and thoughtful. She prepared us a gorgeous lemon cake. Yummy! The view was amazing and so peaceful. We strongly recommended the house. Thank you Rosemary for everything.

  • Great little out of the way , secluded spot , but still close to town. We spent a day just lazing around (we were needing a lay day), great view and not even any traffic goes past here, very relaxing!

Llansilin is a border village. There is a local shop on Tuesday and Thursday mornings The friendly pub is the centre of activities. The pub ia a rural unsophisticated friendly house unspoilt by modernization. There are 2 real ales and a good selection of other beers and cider. There is a simple menu on during most of the week . Sunday there is an excellent Sunday roast with all fresh vegetables and two meats. Nothing frozen.
There is electricity in the pod and a heater. It is well insulated so it's nice and cosy even in the winter. There is a toaster and kettle with tea , coffee, mugs and cutlery, so please bring whatever food you may need for breakfast. There is a chemical toilet next to the pod for night use We are only a few miles from one of the wonders of Wales - llanrhaeadr waterfall which is higher than Niagra. We have three famous National Trust properties nearby , Chirk Castle, Erddig and Powys Castle. There are beautiful drives around Lake Vyrnwy Dogs welcome but please don't leave them alone in the pod.
  • Brilliant stay in the pod for New Years. The pod was warm and comfortable and the pub was full of friendly locals. Defo reccomend for an escape away

  • Lovely getaway for myself and my partner for one night. Jonathon is very quick to respond to emails and check in was easy. Nice views from the pod, nice touches such as tea, coffees, toaster, kettle etc for a good brew in the morning. Will definitely stay again :)

  • Attended a wedding at Barnutopia, Llansilin, so this was the perfect location for us. The pod was warmer than I expected and was perfect just for somewhere to stay for a few hours. Thank you!

  • Great little pod. Very cosy and stunning views to wake up to.

    Tim2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great, clean and well finished pod in a nice location with lovely views over the playground, playing field and rolling fields. Jonathan was a great host and welcomed us and gave local tips and helped us check out the food situation at the pub. The pub staff and locals were friendly and welcoming, although they didn't seem to usually do food on weekday evenings so I'd phone ahead if you want this, but they did see what they had in and offer to make us something which was very kind. Thank you!

    Kate2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • It has been wonderful to stay at the pod! I have been there for two days and I felt so relaxed! Wonderful view! Even on a showering rainy day it felt good to be there. Llansilin is a nice and quiet place. And the pub is wonderful to be in also; good meals and good laughs! Jonathan is a very good host and a nice person as well.

  • Lovely chalet in a great location, about 20 minutes away from attractions such as Powis Castle or Pistyll Rheadr. Check in was very easy, Cheryl messaged well in advance to ensure everything goes smoothly and communication was great. The place was immaculate, equipped with pretty much everything needed to feel at home (fully equipped kitchen including oven, pots, pans and all sorts of cooking utensils, iron, toiletries, clean towels plus some extra), plus a few thoughtful touches such as a few blankets, milk, tea and coffee and biscuits. The park is very peaceful and it has a small shop at the entrance which is very convenient. Can be used as a hub for exploring Wales, or you can enjoy the fabulous surroundings, go for walks alongside the river and enjoy the wildlife. It is difficult to put it into words how amazing the place is, both the chalet and the surroundings exceeded our expectations. Thank you Cheryl for a lovely stay, will definitely return!

Escape the rat race.....come and unwind........a warm welcome awaits you at my lovely old Welsh country cottage dated circa 1650......come and be close to nature, birds and animals (you have to like dogs, ducks, chickens and wildlife!), take your time in a nurturing natural environment.
Tŷ Isaf is a traditional Welsh stone cottage situated in the stunning Ceiriog Valley. The cottage is very old built circa 1650, it is clean and warm.....but not modernised.....it has wonky walls, old beams and floorboards and flaking plaster and wallpaper because I am slowly renovating.......character I say........but that may not be to your liking! Nevertheless, my home has a lovely welcoming, warm, relaxed atmosphere........ everyone loves Tŷ Isaf! I have a single bed available at first floor level in a single room. The double room is taken by my lodger. There are two bathrooms, a sunny kitchen/dining room and a snug lounge with a huge open fireplace with a wood burner for a fire if it's cold. I have two small friendly dogs and I currently keep free range ducks and chickens outside in the large garden which is visited by a huge variety of wild birds. The surrounding fields are full of wild flowers, sheep and cows........so this listing will suit active, outdoorsy, easy going walkers/country people who are ok with the unpredictable and sometimes messy antics of animals and mud!
Glyn Ceiriog is a very beautiful, unspoilt Welsh valley steeped in history and culture with a thriving community spirit, lots of wonderful walks in the wilderness of the Berwyn and Llantysilio mountains, bike rides and horse riding. There are sooo many interesting places to visit including the 11 mile long UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and the Llangollen Canal, National Trust properties at Erddig and Chirk Castle etc. The spectacular market town of Llangollen on the River Dee with its steam railway and canal and the wonderful Castell Dinas Brân and limestone escarpment and International Music Eisteddfod in July. Spend a pleasant afternoon in the charming market town of Oswestry which has many small individual shops and cafe's.
  • I highly recommend this cottage, a warm welcome awaits you and you will be close to places such as Llangollen and its Aqueduct or the Pystill Rhaeadr waterfall (40 minutes). The cottage is a charming building and the room is ideal for a single person.

    Dylan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very enjoyable stay with a friendly and welcoming host. Make sure you get the instructions for travelling beforehand as communication and internet access is limited in the valley.

Run on permaculture principles, Tanyfron Housing Co-operative is home to two families and is situated on a wooded site overlooking the Vyrnwy Valley. We are offering a double room, with a view across the valley
Very important - Please Read! There is absolutely no smoking allowed on-site at Tan y fron, no perfumes, deoderants, aerosols, as we have two residents who have chronic chest conditions. Our accommodation is extremely basic. There is no shower available at the moment as that part of the house is being renovated, and the toilet, whilst inside, is a very basic compost toilet. There is no running water available, but there is a basin for washing and we can provide hot water in a jug for you and cold water so you can clean your teeth. We also provide towels and bed linen. Sorry, but we do not provide any meals. If you are interested in permaculture and living lightly on the land, please consider coming to stay. If you just want somewhere to rest for the night, then this is also the place for you. There are areas of the property where guests, for their own safety, will not be allowed to access. We welcome dogs by arrangement.
We are based in the Vyrnwy river valley - a beautiful part of Powys popular with walkers, cyclists and visitors from all over the world. We are twenty minutes away from the famous Pistyll Rheaedre waterfall, the highest fall in Wales nestled in the mystical Berwyn mountains; the canal and steam railway at Welshpool is fifteen minutes away and Lake Vyrnwy is around thirty minutes.
  • Really lovely setting and the hosts were so incredibly welcoming and friendly. The place was also really good value, no shower at the moment and a composting loo (it didn't smell at all) but it had everything else you'd expect from any other Airbnb. We'd definitely stay again if we're in the area.

    Pippa2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great room, great bed, amazing bunch of guys that run the place, amazing location for walks, sightseeing, (I went to lake Vrnwy for the day) pub 2 miles up the road. Would highly recommend this place for getting your head down after a long day. Although read the description in the advert as this lovely place will not be for everyone. Will definitely be going back for a short break again.

  • This is a great value place to stay, with beautiful guest room and a lovely bed. We enjoyed meeting our hosts. This is a different experience from most airbnbs: the description is accurate, read it before booking!

My new listing is a beautifully converted shepherds hut in a Morrocan theme. The views are outstanding and include Rodney’s Pillar and the Berwyn mountains. The historic St Winifred’s well is a 2 minute walk down the lane which also leads on to the Shropshire Union canal. There are plenty of walks to the local pubs and canal side cafe. A stable that has been converted into a bathroom and kitchen/dining area which is all brand new. Hidden behind the stable is a hot tub looking at the fab views
This quirky hut gives you amazing views with a private area that you won’t want to leave. It’s close to Rodney’s Pillar, Llanrhaedre Waterfall, offa’s Dyke path, Lake Vyrnwy and many more scenic locations ( just ask). Oswestry in 5 mins in the car, Shrewsbury 15mins, Wrexham 25 mins & Chester just 40 mins away.. that’s if you want to leave this tranquil spot!
Close to the canal and St Winifred’s well

  • Lovely place to stay to relax and unwind. Although we stayed in January, the cabin was nice and warm. The kitchen had all we needed to make dinner and breakfast and the hot tub was fantastic. We bought out cockerpoo dog with us and there were plenty of walks around and she was safe to be let free outside the cabin. I would highly recommend! Thanks so much Michelle :)

  • Julie and her husband are great hosts. A beautiful backyard to relax in, en suite bathrooms and tasty self-serve breakfast items, including homemade bread, tarts and marmalade make for a great stay!

  • This is a real gem! Susan is a lovely hostess, the house is spotless and the room is very comfortable indeed. Although the house is centrally located, which is perfect for exploring the town, it is also quiet and there’s ample space for parking on the road outside.

  • Susan's place was very clean and stylish, she made feel very comfortable as well. The beverages and snacks she has provided were an excellent touch! Her two lovely dogs were playful and I only I could stay more! Overall great place and a great host!

Our cottage is situated at the top of the mountain overlooking the Ceiriog Valley and Berwyn mountains. It is ideal for romantic breaks or just to relax and unwind making use of your own private hot tub after long walks in the hills. A mere four miles from Llangollen you'll find a great base to make the most of all the fantastic outdoor activities and places to visit that we have to offer in the local area and further afield in North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.
Guests have access to the garden and lawn area, but we encourage guests to exercise their pets OFF the premises as there are children who use this lawned area from time to time.
In terms of the neighbourhood we're surrounded by fields, so the majority of our neighbours are sheep. Other than the livestock there are two other properties further up the road and a log cabin within the grounds so you may occasionally see other guests. But that's pretty much it, so as you can imagine the neighbourhood is quiet and relaxing.
  • I can’t describe how wonderful our stay was at Pen Y Fedw cottage. The views are amazing. The place is spotless and with plenty of little extra touches you didn’t know you needed you can fully relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Sharon and Dave absolutely made our stay even more magical, the most gracious hosts, full of genuine care and knowledge. We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends. We can not wait to rebook x

  • Cosy little cottage with beautiful landscape views. This is a perfect place for a getaway and a relaxing break. The hot tub is great and Sharon and Dave look after you so well - homemade scone on arrival was delicious! There are lots of nice walks and cosy local pubs and restaurants to visit nearby. Highly recommend this place!

  • Pen-Y-Fedw Cottage. A little gem on top of a beautiful mountain. A huge thank you to Sharon and Dave for allowing us to share your wonderful country cottage. The most amazing hosts who have spoilt us with hospitality and ‘to die for’ home made Welsh cakes and scones. If you are looking for calm, tranquility and a total escape for a few days, this is the place to visit. It is also a wonderful base to return to after a day of exploring the Welsh country. The hot tub is fantastic as is the charm of this quaint cottage. We were also shown around the new quirky log cabin, which we will definitely be booking next time. There is something to suit everyone here, ranging from the hot tubs, country walks, sight seeing, nature or just good old fashioned romance. Once again a big thank you to Sharon and Dave. Regards Martine & Darren, Swinton, Manchester.

  • If you want a place that is away from the stresses of life, this is the place for you. Sharon and David are very caring hosts, paying attention to all the touches that will make your stay wonderful. Thank you for the cream tea on arrival Sharon! The Hot Tub is a must. We were there in February, the tub was beautifully clean and warm making a lovely relaxing end to a wet and windy day.

    Sue2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 2 night stay at Sharon and Dave's cottage and it was lovely!

  • I couldn’t recommend this place more; the area was stunning with a town close by, the locals seemed very friendly and the hosts couldn’t do more for you. The cottage was completely clean and cozy with a good use of the space, and the hot tub was luxurious. Thank you Sharon and David!

  • i was rather blown away by Dave and David's home. Such stylish accommodation and so many unexpected extras such as the superb outdoor hot tub and 3D cinema. I was made to feel extremely welcome throughout my stay and these guys clearly have hosting and hospitality in their DNA. I also enjoyed a superb supper prepared by David and served in the candlelit dining room. The house has great views and is well placed for exploring the area. Even though I had the smallest room it was excellent value.

    Nigel2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality, stunning house and location. Will definitely be back if I’m in the area, and evening meal was lovely too, well worth it. Thanks for a lovely stay

    Sarah2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • David is the consummate host, and nothing seems to be too much for him in terms of helping out. The house itself is beautiful, with wonderful views, and is decorated to a really high standard. The whole place is well thought through, with Alexa operating the lights in every room, and making it simple to contact David if you need help. I stayed in the single bedroom which is VERY small, but incredibly comfortable.

    Josh2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Dave was very welcoming as was the superb hot tub once we’d worked out with Alexa how to play some blues on the poolside speakers 🥴. As I’d just had a miserable 13 mile hike along Offa’s Dyke in pouring rain and mud (Offa’s path is an easy 15 mins away) I was ready for that hot tub pamper. Moreover Dave and David offer an optional full evening meal with wine for just £15 - in my case an excellent chicken curry. This is great as the nearest eatery/pub is not walkable. All in all a great place to stay and lovely hosts!

    Tim2019-09-25T00:00:00Z

  • What a wonderful place to stay! The pictures really don't do it justice. It's very secluded and the views are amazing. The barn is finished to such a high standard, even during a storm we were warm and cosy. Very friendly and knowledgeable hosts too.

Perfect hosts including the little doggo Milo

  • Veronica and Chris are really adorable and welcoming people. Courageous too because they accept to host a 6 month old baby! Veronica did not know what to do and what to do. We loved the little garden and the house, which is super cozy and beautifully decorated, not in an Ikea-kind-of-way, but with things that seem to have a story to tell. Veronica and Chris are absolutely adorable and welcoming. Brave too, since they agreed to stay with my 6 month old baby! Veronica did everything to make the most of our stay. We loved the little garden and the house too, which is very comfortable and nicely decorated, as if everything had a history.

Hillside is a 1-bed, self-contained apartment sleeping 2 people. Located on the lower ground floor of Llanerch Farm, an 18thC farmhouse nestled above the Dee Valley in 16 acres of private countryside; it has its own private garden, well-equipped kitchen and gorgeous views.
Hillside is a newly-decorated, peaceful, self-contained, one-bedroom apartment situated on the lower ground floor of Llanerch Farm, an 18th century farmhouse located between Froncysyllte and Llangollen on the North Wales borderlands. Llanerch Farm is nestled in 16 acres of private land, with beautiful views of the stunning Dee Valley. We're lucky enough to be able to not only enjoy the UNESCO World Heritage site of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct from our windows, but also the 13th century Castell Dinas Bran (or "Crow Castle"), as well as a host of amazing wildlife. Hillside is a peaceful apartment which has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished to provide a flavour of contemporary Welsh farmhouse style and surroundings. It is well-equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable home-from-home, including free WiFi, kitted-out kitchen, dishwasher, Freeview TV/DVD player/HDMI cable, board games, USB sockets and printed information on places to visit, local eateries and lots of other useful stuff. Hillside's private rear garden with patio set and parasol is the perfect spot to watch the sun set behind the romantic ruins of Dinas Bran castle, whilst our peaceful resident ponies quietly graze in the surrounding fields. The bedroom has a super-comfy king-size bed. The pretty, bijou ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet, hand basin and heated towel rail, plus fluffy towels and complimentary accessories - we've tried to think of everything you might have forgotten! Our area also has a great 4G phone signal.
We are located on quiet lane above the A5 between the 19thC village of Froncysyllte and ancient town of Llangollen. Type 'Llanerch Farm Froncysyllte' into Gmaps to see exactly where we are. Llangollen (a 10 minute drive away) is bustling with cafes, bars, restaurants and delis selling Welsh produce. Llangollen's world-renowned International Eisteddfod takes place every July, and the town also hosts annual comedy, music, food, walking and Christmas festivals too - to name but a few! In terms of shopping, Llangollen is super-handy for groceries and takeaways, and there is a Tesco Superstore a little over a mile away in Cefn. The border market towns of Oswestry and Wrexham are easily accessible (both just under 20mins by car), or if you fancy shopping 'til you drop, Chester and Shrewsbury are both a mere 30-40mins away by car. We are lucky to enjoy a fantastic choice of local walking routes across mountains, over moorland, along rivers and through woodland. The Panorama, Horseshoe Pass, Valle Crucis Abbey and Pistyll Rhaeadr/Ceiriog Valley walks are particularly popular. We're also situated on the A5 leading straight to the "Gateway to Snowdonia", so a great location to explore further into North Wales too. There's a superb range of adventure activities and experiences in Llangollen (including white water rafting and gorge walking), as well as caving, bungee jumping, canyoning and pony trekking in the area. As well as actually being able to see Castell Dinas Bran (a 13th century castle built on earlier ancient settlements) and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct from Llanerch Farm; we are also very close to 13th century Chirk Castle (seat of the Myddletons), Plas Newydd (18thC home of the celebrated Ladies of Llangollen), and Erddig Hall, which offers a unique sense of below stairs life in a Victorian country house. Other great places to explore include Betwys-y-Coed and Snowdonia, Pistyll Rhaeadr (a stunning waterfall and one of the seven Wonders of Wales), the Ceiriog Valley, Ellesmere and environs, and the lovely Welsh coastal villages of Port Meirion and Port Madog. Our local native wildlife is hugely important to us and we are passionate about continuing to work to create a haven for the wild creatures we share our land with here. You can watch some of our beautiful wildlife from Hillside itself - binoculars and bird book provided! We also have a number of lovely nature reserves on our doorstep and black grouse lekking on the moorland across the valley. Our favourite visitors to Llanerch include peregrine falcons, partridges (listen out for their arresting, mechanical calls) and spotted flycatchers. We keep regularly-updated brochures, leaflets and information outlining all of this info in Hillside for our guests to browse through during their stay.
  • An amazing stay at Llanerch Farm (Hillside), would have loved to have stayed longer - the view from the house can't be beat, surely. The house was decorated beautifully and was perfectly clean throughout - it had everything we expected and more. Lora was helpful when arranging check-in at a time that suited us and the welcome notes/chocolates were a thoughtful gesture. All in all the perfect getaway for a weekend in Wales - for anyone wondering, Llangollen is a great base to explore North Wales. Thanks again to our hosts and we will be recommending to our friends and family.

  • This was our 3rd stay at Hillside, Llanerch Farm. We thoroughly endorse this beautiful place, it is a serene get away, set in a gorgeous hilltop setting with sensational views. It has everything you could need to be comfy and cosy whilst away from home. The whole place is sparkling clean and a joy to relax in. Lora and Barry are thoughtful and responsive hosts. 5 stars easily!

    Nicki2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a relaxing time in Lora's beautiful cottage. It was so clean and comfortable, the views were fantastic and we were made to feel very welcome. The little garden and the hanging baskets outside the bedroom window all looked great, even in November. Thank you again.

    Larry2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hillside is a wonderful place to stay. It is comfortable, cosy and beautifully decorated. The view over the valley is absolutely fantastic.

    Bryan2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Hillside for a week in September and had a lovely stay. The apartment was immaculately clean, cosy and equipped with everything we needed. We particularly loved the stunning views from the apartment. There are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, including horse drawn canal boat rides and the Llangollen Steam Railway, with Llangollen only a short drive away from the apartment, and we definitely recommend a visit to Chirk Castle and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Although it rained for the most of our stay, we still had a lovely time at Hillside and would certainly stay again if we were to visit the area in the future.

    Kimberley2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious accommodation, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Central heating, a washing machine and most of the facilities you would need, making this a real home from home. Did I mention the outstanding view? Highly recommended.

    Marc2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loras beautiful secluded spot was heaven. Lots of welcoming touches on arrival - and the spot was so gorgeous we almost didn’t want to leave - but we had so many great recommendations about the local area we had great adventures locally. Can’t wait to come back sometime.

The pretty village of Glyn Ceiriog has a shop, pharmacy and 2 pubs serving food in walking distance. Near to, Chirk Castle and Pontysyllte Aqueduct. There is very little light pollution here so great for stargazing!
  • A real gem of an Air BnB. A true home-from-home during my time near Llangollen, Caryn's home was cozy, super clean and quiet with so many thoughtful touches. Breakfast was the best I've had out of all the Air BnBs I have stayed at, with a big choice of cereals, breads, teas coffee and fresh fruit. Super comfortable and private top floor with a great day room to relax overlooking the river, and Caryn was a lovely host too! Equally happy to have a good chat as well as leave you do your own thing and make yourself at home, will definitely be back!

  • Lovely lady, lovely home, lovely setting

    Rick2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and stylish top floor of a cosy cottage in the beautiful Welsh countryside. Caryn went the extra mile to make our stay perfect, including a very delicious and healthy breakfast each morning. The views across the valley were stunning, and the house is perfectly situated to explore the surrounding towns and villages - Llangollen was a short drive away, where we ate out in the evening, and Llandegla forest just half an hour drive, where there is a great mountain biking trail centre. There is also a local pub at the end of the road, just a couple of minutes walk, where drinks were very reasonably priced. We would definitely stay again.

    Lauren2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

Beautiful converted chapel in the Shropshire countryside within a mile from the Welsh border. Lovely ground floor double bedroom with private entrance and direct access to garden and car parking space. Private bathroom. Full cooked english breakfast with fruit yoghurt and preserves included in the price. Views from the Chapel are across open countryside. We are about 4 miles outside Oswestry. Lovely walks from the door with Offas Dyke footpath being close by. Easy walk to Barnutopia.
The room is ground floor with direct private access to the garden / parking area. New bed and mattress. Towels supplied Please note that this is a small double. We have a spare room where you can store luggage if you wish to.
We are right on the border of Wales and are actually in the small hamlet of Craigllwyn not Morda but the map doesnt reconise this. The scenery in this area is superb. There are lots of good walks from the door and Offas Dyke is close by. It is very quiet with a few cars and farm vehicles passing - more so at school times. Oswestry is 4 miles away and there is a bus station which serves the local area. Chester and Shrewsbury are both within easy reach. The nearest railway station is at Gobowen about 7 miles away. We have a decent taxi service.

  • Linda was a lovely host, we stayed for a 21st birthday and she had set up decorations for our arrival! She offered cups of tea and any other help that we needed! The pods were very clean, cosy and unique! Will definitely be looking at going back to visit in the summer season, amazing experience!

    Jemima2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing host, amazing space, can’t wait to go back in the summer, Linda is so lovely, also the station pub just down the road does amazing food! Thank you so much Linda! X

    Alex2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was such a lovely host. Her little bag of goodies on arrival & sweet card were just so thoughtful. Plus the pre-communication with Will was very efficient. Would highly recommend!

    Aimée2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Booked the pods for a weekend away. What a fantastic setup! The pods are very comfy with plenty of space to chill out, the fairy lights are a nice touch. We were surprised at how well insulated the pods are, they kept us very toasty and would definitely consider going again in the colder months. Outside there is a fully equipped cooking area with amazing views across the valley and we loved sitting out round the fire pit at night. Linda is an amazing host! She gave us lots of information for the local area with things to do and places to eat, and also ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. - Thank-you!!

    Ben2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Linda welcomed us and was such a lovely host and person, from the minute we pulled onto the drive and seeing the steps up through the trees to the pods it had a magical charm for the children, the pods are very comfortable the larger one with pull out cushion sofas and a large comfy mattress in the smaller pod, both had mobile battery packs with two charging ports on them and there were also dimmable internal lights(loved the personal touch of the welcome pack with some little goodies and a card),outside there are lots of solar lights spread out in the garden which look great when they are all lit up at nightime their is also a fire pit that you can purchase logs and firelighters from Linda at the cottage for a small fee(would advise taking a lighter and fluid for adverse weather conditions)there is also a storage box with a gas stove and pots, pans, cups, cutlery. We drove down to the local village for a nice meal at a restaraunt called the station grill but there is a spar, chip shop and Indian nearby. Overall It was a unique magical experience with lovely friendly hosts, we look forward returning again Thanks Linda

    Mark2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • A return visit to the pods and we were not disappointed. Fantastic space which the kids loved. Linda was amazing as always. We will be back in the future.

    Lucy2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend. A very unique experience and great fun. We travelled as a family of 4, our 2 boys (age 9 and 11) thought it was amazing! Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The pods were warm and comfortable, we all had a great night sleep. Lovely Hosts who were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the short walk down to the village and had a lovely meal. Great value for money in a lovely part of Wales.

    Gemma2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place and host! We had such a nice time on our motorcycle trip around Wales but when we arrived for our stay at the pods everything just got better. As soon as you get to this place it looks and feels magical. We even had a chance to toast some marshmallows on the fire and what a GREAT night sleep at the Pods. I would recommend to try this place to anyone! Thanks again Linda!

Tastefully restored old gypsy vargo or wagon, is wider than many to give a full sized double bed. It's set by a stream under some willow trees in it's own area. About 100 yards from our other guests on the cabin and pod. There is a gas hob and grill and 12 volt electric light from a battery. There's a wood stove for heat but no mains electricity or water. There's a toilet cubicle with a basin to wash in and a water pump. There's a rudimentary camping shower also. There is a BBQ provided
The Gypsy caravan has two gas rings and a grill. There's a wood burner for heat. Washing up is done in a bowl and water thrown outside afterward. There's a separate chemical loo with sink to wash in. There's a rudimentary camping shower also.
This is a peaceful romantic retreat for a couple. It is not a party venue. Noise must be kept down as our neighbours are elderly on one side and young on the other. Sound seems to carry in our valley.
  • Lovely get-away and a chance to get back to nature.

    Nick2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful location for a cosy, warm stay! The log burner was wonderful and kept us warm all evening. We made a lovely dinner on the gas stove and the bed was comfy. The surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful! Recommend highly! Would love to come back in the summer.

  • The gypsy caravan was a cute place, had quirky touches and everything we needed to have a pleasant 1 night stay. It was on lovely land with sheep and wasn’t too hard to get to. The directions made it easy to find and Jonathon was waiting there for us to show us to the caravan and show us what we needed to know, he had already lit the fire for us also! Would definitely recommend especially with the nearby town of Oswestry only being 20 mins away, which has shops, pubs and restaurants.

    Rachel2019-11-17T00:00:00Z

This self catering apartment is on the first floor of our converted barn, a cosy retreat. Perfect for a weekend getaway with your partner, or as a bolt hole from which to explore. We live next door in the Penybont Inn. We are the village pub serving the busy local farming community. Open from 6pm on weekdays and 1pm on weekends so there is no risk of a disturbed and well deserved lie in! Due to the layout and access to the flat, it is unsuitable for young children.
With your own private balcony. You can enjoy the views of the valley or the stars. Only 60 paces away from the pub bar via your own private gateway!
Set in the Tanat Valley with 12 miles of meandering river 50 feet below the pub, a lovely part of the world with unspoilt night skies and plenty of places to explore by foot, car or bus (we have our own bus stop)
  • Amazing! Love this place so much :) sara and jim are lovely friendly people, considerate with a cosy pub right next to the accomodation. They have a lovely dog in the pub :) this was out second time staying here and hope to stay again soon

Our BRAND NEW traditional Canadian Log Cabin sits at the top of the mountain overlooking the Ceiriog Valley and Berwyn mountains.
In terms of the neighbourhood we're surrounded by fields, so the majority of our neighbours are sheep. Other than the livestock there are two other properties further up the road and a cottage within the grounds so you may occasionally see other guests. But that's pretty much it, so as you can imagine the neighbourhood is quiet and relaxing.
  • A 'proper' log cabin in such a quiet location. The cabin itself is clean and well maintained with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The jacuzzi is an excellent addition to fix those tired muscles after a nice long walk in the Welsh country side. You will not be dissapointed.

  • We stayed in this beautiful log cabin for two wonderful nights. Our hosts, Sharon and David were super lovely and helpful. Prior to our stay, Sharon had sent really useful messages with places to visit and eat and so we didn't have to do any research before we visited. Her directions to the lodge were really clear and helpful, especially as we found that we had limited phone data available to use sat nav and also the directions avoided a really rough road. On arrival, we were welcomed warmly with delicious homemade bara brith (our first time trying this-delicious!) and cream scones. We bought some of her home made jam as it is so delicious. The cabin was fabulous, lovely and warm and modern too. The hot tub was amazing! The view from it was incredible and we watched the stars from it and even went in it in a gale force wind as it was so lovely and warm and relaxing with it's powerful jets. We visited some lovely places and felt very relaxed as we were unable to access emails, texts or phone calls as we had no signal. However, we did have a minor family emergency and Sharon and David were more than happy for us to use their house phone for this, for which we were very grateful. We really hope to be back again as we so enjoyed our stay.

  • Beautiful cabin, inside was amazing, hot water straight away in the shower, very clean and Sharon & Dave was amazing hosts. The hot tub was great and the view of fields filled with sheep was great. If your looking for a place to get away this is great, no phone signal but just down the road you can. We went to Llangollen for breakfast at The Meating Point was delicious, we went to the Bridge End pub was good but the pub side is very small, we wanted to watch the football/scores on Saturday we found a lovely little place across from the 3 eagles on Bridge street (can’t remember the name) quirky inside but everyone was lovely, nice simple pub food, overlooked the river. Everywhere was dog friendly even places that served food :)

  • The cabin is clean and cosy! The hosts are lovely and very helpful, great hosts. We had a lovely time with plenty of nearby walks with our dog! It was heaven to get away and spend a few days relaxing with no phone signal and the hot tub was a welcome bonus after a long walk! Would definitely recommend!

  • Despite storm Dennis trying to thwart us, we had an absolutely amazing stay with Sharon. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and it's obvious that alot of thought and effort has gone into creating it - it's perfect for an off the grid getaway! The hottub was an extra special treat and Sharon was especially helpful when giving us places to go and visit/eat. We throughly enjoyed our stay, thank you!

  • Lovely cosy cabin in a great location especially if you’re after a peaceful weekend. Some nice local walking, we didn’t get out too much due to bad weather but still had a great weekend. No WiFi, no phone signal, perfect!

  • Well what can I say, what an outstanding place to go and stay. The cabin is so stylish and modern but has a rustic feel. The hosts were amazing with their welcome and they themselves were very engaging and warm. They respected our privacy but were also there if we wanted to chat. They helped us really well with directions and told us great places to eat. I must recommend to anyone staying here to book a table in the Mulberry inn as it has outstanding food. The hot tub was a nice touch and the cabin was always warm which was great for the mad dash from the tub to the cabin to keep warm. Even though the weather was not on our side , we didn't mind staying in the cabin all day as it was just that nice. This has been my best find on Airbnb since using the app. I cant thank sharon and dave enough. The only down side was that there was no wifi which we expected there to be, but it just meant more quality time for ourselves. Highly would recommend.

  • Where to begin - a perfect, cosy cabin in the most stunning place with a view to die for! From the easy-to-follow directions, to the warm welcome with home-baked scones and cream tea, Sharon and David’s place is the perfect trip away. We couldn’t have been made to feel more at home and Sharon gave us wonderful tips on walks and pubs in the local area. For walkers, you can literally head out right from the front door and with Llangollen and the Horseshoe Pass on the doorstep, there’s plenty to see and do. The cabin itself is lovely, sparkling clean with flowers and home made jams available! It was the perfect size for the two of us and the dogs and the bed is so comfy! Unfortunately, Storm Ciara stopped us from being able to use the hot tub but we shall definitely be back. I highly recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing time away to recharge. Thank you for having us, we shall be back as soon as we can!

  • Such a lovely, welcoming stay. I loved this beautiful place! Lovely, big, comfy bed, I slept so well. So reasonably priced. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere. Would 100% stay again. Thank you

  • Tanyfron is a lovely place for the right kind of person. Read what they tell you. It was perfect for myself and a friend. The room was big and airy and the bed king size and comfortable. It was certainly clean and bright and very good value. The house is a work in progress and the people taking it on are all very pleasant and helpful. I look forward to staying there whenever I am in the area again.

  • Mandy and her husband Derek ares such incredible hosts. When I arrived, she had tea with a selection of her own homemade cakes ready. The house was warm throughout (not all AirBnB's I stayed at were), and Mandy urged me to use the lounge we call it the living room in the US) to watch TV or to hang out. They answered so many of my questions about England, about the area, etc. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom/shower amenities perfect. This is located in a very quiet neighborhood. However, there are lots of walking trails nearby that Mandy can recommend. I had a perfect experience there!

  • What a wonderful couple! They treat you like family. Nothing is too much trouble. So kind - to everyone! There were other people there too and they treated them just the same. Lovely location too - quiet but not totally isolated. Definitely recommended! Thank you so much, Mandy & Derek!!
