Places to stay in Gananoque
Brand New Studio Apartment! Complete with full kitchen & WIFI . Two minute drive from Waterfront and Downtown Gananoque.
Very quiet neighbourhood. Within walking distance to Waterfront and Downtown area. 10 minute walk from the Purple House Cafe and other restaurants.
  • The space was new and very nice and clean. It felt like a large hotel room, complete with toiletries. Good value for such a lovely space. Would recommend for a couple. The only very minor issues were we could sometimes hear people walking above us, the room could be bright since the front door was partially frosted glass, and there was a tv but no cable or antennae. That being said, they were minor issues. We would definitely stay there again.

  • Colin is a pro. Check-in was flawless, the place was immaculate, and supremely clean. From fresh condiments, to an iron, and extra toiletries, anything you could think of that you would possibly need that you probably forgot is in this place. Ample space; a HUGE bed; free wifi.. Colin is even gracious enough to include his personal Netflix so there’s something to watch if you so desire. In addition to all of the amenities, Colin is a supremely professional and courteous host. Colin’s Airbnb is head and shoulders above any of the hotel chains in the area, while maintaining a competitive price. I’d give him 10 stars if I could. If I’m ever in Gan again and in need of a place, he will be the first place I look for.

  • Colin’s studio is a perfect place to stay if you’re in Gananoque. The place was very clean and had all the amenities. It was very thoughtful of Colin to leave us a box of delicious chocolates. He was always quick to respond to our texts and willing to help with anything. He also suggested good food options during our stay. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay and definitely recommend Colin’s place.

  • A clean, warm, perfectly appointed suite! Close to downtown Ganonoque, Colin has put together a great Air BnB and we’ll be looking forward to our next visit!

  • This place was great for me. Convenient, quiet, clean, a good location, a big comfortable bed, and most amenities. It was basic in the best way. Just right for me passing through, and wanting a nice place to stay. The hosts were quick to communicate.

COVID-19 update: we are doing our part in protecting our guests by extensively cleaning after each stay. We are diligently working on sanitizing high traffic areas, we have removed throw pillows and throw blankets to prevent the spread. We are waiting on Ontario’s definition of essential services to determine our continued operation. Stay safe. We are looking forward to hosting you in the future.
Welcome to Adelaide! A century old townhouse in the heart of downtown Gananoque, just steps from parks, restaurants, and shops. This bright modern home features two bedrooms sleeping four people, along with a full kitchen, and living room. It is a perfect destination for a romantic getaway for two... or four. We recently added a little sparkle to this already beautiful space. With high ceilings and original hardwood floors, the space celebrates its historical design while embracing the modern boho chic hygge vibe. We also tried to think of everything you would need while you’re away from home. You’ll find charging stations, Bluetooth speaker, kitchen necessities, top quality toiletries from Public Goods, and Netflix. Adelaide now has climate control with a Nest thermostat, so you will always be comfortable in our extreme seasons! Finally, we realize how important a good night sleep is, especially when on holiday. That’s why we’ve added foam top Queen size beds with luxurious sheets and plush yet supportive pillows to make sure you get your beauty sleep. Adelaide is located in the perfect location for exploring the charming town of Gananoque. Local restaurants, shops, and parks are just steps away from Adelaide's door step. We’re also on Instagram! Check us out @adelaide.airbnb If you’re looking to make your stay extra special, contact me and I can prepare the house just for you. For example, we’ve partnered with a yoga studio owner (just across the street) who is happy to come over to facilitate a practice just for you. Treat yourself!
Adelaide is located across the street from the town park, right behind the historical town hall in Gananoque. It's an easy walk to the playground, local brewery, hippy restaurants, trendy shops, and art gallery. If you want to explore the thousand islands, boat tours are just a few minutes down the road.

  • Just beautiful decoration, very cocooning place! We loved it! Thank you !

  • This is a great, little place. We booked it on the fly, early evening, when we realized we were too tired to continue our journey into New York. Samantha responded quickly and apologized for not being able to leave cookies for us since we'd be checking in within the hour. When we arrived, parking was available onsite, the place was clean and everything ready to go for us. From there, we took a maybe 5 minute walk to the main street where we had some great beers at the brewery and grabbed dinner. The bed was super comfy and the apartment was cozy and quiet. Turned out to be an unexpecting bright spot for our last night in Canada. Thanks a million for being a great host!

  • Samantha’s unit is beautiful, sparking clean with some thoughtful touches. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely consider rebooking in the future!

    Jasmine2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super sweet Airbnb in a sweet, small town! The hosts are incredibly thoughtful and helpful. There were personal touches they left for us and it made our stay all the more special! This includes sweet things like a card and restaurant recommendations to practical ones, like the snow shovel and ice salt! CLEAN - it was SO clean! I am a neat freak and was so impressed with the cleanliness and tidiness of the stay. It’s a super quiet town - definitely a change of pace if you’re a city girl like me so bring your noise app for a good night’s rest if you can’t sleep without some background noise! :) the house is older (but updated!) so there are some creaks here and there but other than that, it’s so quiet! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it!!

  • My wife and I travel to Gananoque once or twice a year and always try to stay at Darren's place as it has everything we want/need and is centrally located to everywhere we want to go to the point we park the car and walk everywhere. You won't be disappointed with a stay at Darren's airbnb but book it early so you won't miss out.

    Kelly2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice apartment-lovingly furnished with many details. Darren is a great host, he greeted us personally and we spent the evening in his pub. We got to know Max (his dog) and his daughter - great people! Everything great.

    Klaus2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very cosy and stylish place in the heart of Gananoque, close and convenient for everything you might want to do. Our host Darren was very helpful, friendly and easily accessible, not only by phone or text, but also on person, since he owns “Old English Pub” restaurant below. Speaking of that, we suggest while you’re waiting for your main course to try the “Baked Brie encrusted with walnuts”. You’ll enjoy it especially if you’re wine lover... So much for the place, it doesn’t need much advertisement... See the other reviews. ——————— If you can plan ahead, we can suggest to plan a day to visit Boldt Castle on the Heart Island, across Alexandria Bay, NY. Do not fall for the 5-hours boat trip offered by Gananoque Boat Line. It will give you only 2 hours for Boldt Castle which is definitely not enough ! Instead - drive to Alexandria Bay, where you could cross to Boldt Castle with the “Uncle Sam” shuttle. 39 USD for two, including the entrance to the castle. This way to visit the castle gives you more time, you could easily spend a day on the island. Don’t forget your Passport, it’s in USA. And also download on your smartphone the Boldt Castle app. It offers self-guided tour of the Castle - inside and outside... Only with the app you could get every little detail and you could better understand what you see. It structures the visit and helps you not to miss anything. This was our fourth visit, for a first time now we’ve used the app - it makes a huge difference... Check in advance what is Boldt Castle and if you’ll be interested in visiting. If you follow our advice and you don’t like the experience - please do not blame us... There might be people, which are not able to see and feel what the other can. We feel sorry for them, unfortunately nothing could be done for that.

  • An Airbnb by the English pub has a special place in our hearts - not only the location is amazing, also the apartment itself is beautiful, almost like you are visiting England. There is a wonderful dog that gives you cuddles and kisses  - that brings the trip to a whole new level! The owner goes above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable and welcomed. You also have access to the garden with tomatoes and grapes which is a perfect place for a late night chat and an early breakfast!

  • Because the room may not be enough, we did not stay and temporarily replaced other houses. Because we use foreign mobile phone cards, most of the time in the woods or mountains in the suburbs, the signal is not very good, there is some misunderstanding if we can't contact the landlord in time. I still can't stay but I am still very grateful.

  • If you're planning on visiting Gananoque and the 1000 Islands (which you should!) then you should absolutely book here. It's easy to get to by car, perfectly located to reach the boat tours by car or by foot, and the space itself is beautifully presented. Highly recommended!!!

Michele has a nice breakfast made for you at the time of your choice and she took the time to share the history of the home with us. There is also a nice parlour downstairs to relax in and read a book if you like.

Very quiet location, across the street from the St. Lawrence River. Big backyard with barbeque. Adirondack chairs in the shade, picnic table for outdoor dining. The Thousand Islands is famous for its breathtaking beauty, with the clean, revitalizing waters of the St. Lawrence River, the many public access federal islands, and the opportunity to tour the River on the long-running family business, Gananoque Boatlines. With all the charm of small town Ontario, the stories of the generations of Canadians and Americans who return here to their summer homes, the tales of prohibition-era rum runners, as well as golf courses, fishing, boating, kayaking, and the world-renowned Thousand Islands National Park, our area offers you a unique summer vacation. May I suggest: •a world-class theatre performance at The Thousand Islands Playhouse (Ontario's only dockside theatre) • swimming at Joel Stone Park beach or at one of the many public access points along the St. Lawrence River • hiking the Marble Rock Trail, just outside of town or at the spectacular Rock Dunder, 30 minutes away, with a stunning view from the top. • live music in the amphitheater every weekend at the waterfront park •yoga classes at The Ledger Room • a craft beer tasting flight at the Gananoque Brewing Company • Swinging through the tree-top rope course at Skywood (20 min drive) • The woodworking museum, beach, picnic area at Grass Creek Park (10 min drive) • The Antique Boat Museum on the waterfront in Gananoque • tour historic Fort Henry or the Kingston Penitentiary Museum in Kingston • Heather Haynes art gallery 27 King St. E. • rentals at Thousand Islands Kayaking to paddle to the islands • Farmers market (on Thursdays in Gananoque from May-October, Kingston year-round on Saturdays); • Gananoque Boatline boat tours through the islands • a helicopter tour with 1000 Islands Helicopter Tours •monthly festivals, including Pirate Days, and The Writers Festival.

The original home of Gananoque's premiere early industrialist (William Bulloch) is now available for the lover's of classic architecture . Built in 1875 this grand dame sitting on the banks of the Gan river has the charm of days gone by with the convenience of a sympathetic renovation to modern standards. This large third floor walk up apartment has wonderful light, and a big deck. It's not for those who have issues with stairs. The home sits directly across from confederation park!
Expect and understand that the home is almost 150 years old. Quirks and idiosyncracies are to be expected. The third floor is a comfortable mix of old and new. The third floor unit is fully separate and self contained, you'll have the whole floor to yourself. This unit is formerly the owner's quarters. This wonderful old building provides excellent sound separation.
We are located right at the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Gan river and joins the west and east sides of the town park/sculpture park. The park and the river are right out the front door. It's a short walk to the town beach and the St. Lawrence waterfront. Everything in town (but the casino) is easily walkable from our place. When water is high one can be lulled by the sound of the river tumbling through the locks that are steps from the front door.
  • The appartment is very clean and lovely, even more than we can imagine on the pictures. Debby and Andrew make sure that we are feeling well in their house. Gananoque is nice and is a perfect location between Kingston and the 1000 islands. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back if we have the oppurtunity. We warmly recommend this place.

  • The very beautiful house is located in a very beautiful town. The interior of the house is super tastefully decorated by the landlord. The bed decoration and toiletries are very particular. It takes a few minutes to walk to the lake and the life is very convenient. Thank you for the small gift given to us when the landlord left. I am very touched. I will stay here again next time. Thank you for leaving such a wonderful memory.

  • Charming home near the river. Shannon, the owner, was extremely helpful with detailed (and accurate) instructions provided well in advance. She was away the night that I stayed there but her instructions made everything seem familiar. It was a very positive experience.

The beds were very comfortable and the house was warm and cozy. We were very happy to see how clean the house was! We are looking forward to going back again one day in the summer to enjoy this beautiful town.

  • We arrived at the Quaint Bungelow earlier than we expected and Cory and Melissa accommodated us very kindly. We were greeted by a happy Valentine’s Day note and chocolates 🍫 which were delicious. We spent most of our time in the cozy home and in the gorgeous historic downtown Gananoque. They left great suggestions and everyone in the town was so friendly to us and made us feel welcome. We would go back in a heartbeat and can’t wait to visit again and stay here. We have two babies and the home was very safe and kid proof. Thanks for being amazing hosts and for your hospitality. Super clean, quick responses and very friendly!

  • Amazing stay ! Cottage is beautiful and right on the river

    Dev2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • My two friends and I drove all the way from Clearview ON because we wanted to see the Missisipi River. Even though it was only for one night, Jen was amazing. We arrived past midnight and she kindly left the keys inside the kitchen, next to a real nice treat basket. The cottage is so warm inside and everything is sparkling clean, so beautiful and fully equipped. Just to go outside of the cottage and look at the river is breathtaking! We are so down to come back for longer because there are so many hiking trails around that we loved everything about this place.

    Gananoque, ON, Canada

This is a traditional, rustic cottage on the St. Lawrence River in the beautiful Thousand Islands. The cottage has been in our family for nearly 20 years. Howe Island Ferry Road (Gananoque) is a great friendly community that includes mostly American vacationers, recent retirees, and local owners. The road which was built on a man made peninsula leads to one of two ferry's that commute by tow rope to Howe Island. The cottage is 25 minutes from kingston, ON and 5 minutes from Gananoque, ON.
Great for campers, RV enthusiasts, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, hunting, and other outdoor activities. There are sometimes spiders and bugs as it is an older cottage. They are not dangerous or poisonous. Recently added air conditioner for guests. THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO ENJOY CLASSIC COTTAGE EXPERIENCE PLEASE USE SHOWER SPARINGLY AS THERE IS A HOLDING TANK THAT HAS TO BE EMPTIED, THANK YOU NOT A HOTEL NOT A BED AND BREAKFAST EVERYTHING IS NEAT, TIDY, AND VINTAGE **There are propane tanks on site, it is GUESTS RESPONSIBILITY TO FILL, please clean up after using the BBQ.** This is a rustic cottage, there are some towels, sheets, blankets. If you have multiple guests, or are staying for multiple nights then I strongly suggest bringing your own towels, and a sleeping bag or pack as if you were going to stay at a cottage. There are two large bedrooms each with a double bed and a pull out sectional in living area. The cottage contains two large dining tables (inside and outside on deck), adequate kitchen, bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. WATER IS NOT DRINKABLE! You must bring your own drinking/ teeth brushing water. If you have certain expectations please let me know before booking to prevent cancelations and conflict.
Great neighbourhood, the people are friendly, yet the area is still very private and majority of people are out on the water. Kid friendly, great for active seniors that love the outdoors. Great views from both sides of the peninsula. Sunset at the Beach, sunrise on the dock. New Locks Recently Installed! ( We had a guest with safety concerns, so we fixed it.)

  • I really like an airbnb, very experienced. The location is right by the lake, and the morning view is especially beautiful. Convenient transportation, ten minutes drive to metro. I like it very much, I want to go again in the summer!

  • Richard's place was great! The location is amazing! - A great spot to unwind and unplug. Our only tip would to perhaps go there when it's not so cold, not a fault of Richard's place, but the area would be much more engaging if the temp was higher.

    Jocelyn2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This little house is perfect for a relaxing stay out of nowhere. The view from the living room is amazing. Unfortunately we had rain during our stay but we would have loved to use the terrace as it looked amazing! I would definitely recommend this place!

Close to Gananoque hiking trails, marina, boat cruises, the Playhouse, splash pad, beach, lots of great restaurants, shopping. yoga.
  • Wonderful, spacious homey property. Great communication with host Lisa, who offered many suggestions for restaurants and activities. Complete with every amenity that you would need. Beautiful setting close to everything.

  • Very comfortable house especially with children. Great location to visit St Lawrence area.

    Guillaume2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • One of the good things about this listing is that it really feels like you're 'at home' - it is clear that the owners do live here when it's not on AirBnB, which is rare and was a nice touch for us as a family. Check-in and communication straightforward, hot tub a pleasant extra. Location is great: access to 1000 islands, yet very quiet as it is on the outskirts of town near a hiking trail that provides access. Recommended.

  • We had a terrific week in the Thousand Islands. Lisa's place is so lovely and spacious. It was a great starting point for our daily outings and adventures, and the perfect space to come back to at the end of the day. In all, a fantastic place for our family and we'll have great memories of our days there.

    Jodi2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's place was perfect for our family of four. The space was gorgeous, full of light and air. We spent our time reading, playing in the yard, dancing with our young one to the Alexa music, and enjoying the splash pad and restaurant recommendations in town. Perfect place to unplug. The beds were comfortable, home was very clean, and hot tub was wonderful. Highly recommend this getaway in Gananoque!

  • I booked a room at Michele’s B&B as a surprise for my mother’s birthday. Michele, her partner Robert, and her daughter Danielle went above and beyond to ensure our stay exceeded our expectations. Their home is absolutely beautiful, and staying in such an exquisite setting is an experience in itself. We booked the Bulloch Suite, which is a spacious and luxurious master bedroom. Michele devoted so much care to our breakfast; everything was delicious, home-made, and our dietary restrictions were happily accommodated. All in all, our stay at Michele and Robert’s was exceptional. We are so happy to have met this lovely family and we look forward to staying again in the future.

    Gretchen2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I booked a one night stay in Gananoque on a whim - we were married the week before, and have a longer honeymoon planned for later in the year, but felt like we should do something little sooner. This was our first B&B experience, and honestly I can’t describe how fantastic it was. Michele and Robert at the Bulloch House were amazing hosts, right from the start. We were greeted warmly when we arrived, Michele gave us a tour of their beautifully appointed house, and shown to our suite - the Bulloch room - which was extraordinary and over the top romantic. Later in the evening we had a delicious dinner at Riva restaurant, afterwards spending our time wandering around the quiet streets of town. The next day, we were provided a lovely breakfast, which was thoughtfully prepared based on our personal food preferences. Meeting the other couples staying at the House was also a treat. We had a magical time, and I highly recommend not only a visit to this wonderful little town, but to top it off with a stay at this superb B&B for the ultimate experience. Thanks again, Michele and Robert!!

  • Beautifully furnished home close to river and all amenities. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. More suitable for adults and older children because of all the ornaments and period furniture. Two double bedrooms and a single with very comfortable beds. Only one bathroom with bath and shower, but there is a separate toilet on the ground floor. This is not like a normal holiday rental. You are sharing Shannon’s home and there are quite a lot of personal items in the rooms and the kitchen cupboards and fridge were full of food! However, we would have no hesitation in recommending this property for a short term stay.

  • Thank you Shannon for being such a great host. We loved relaxing in your homey home after a day at the Joel Beach and easy walk around town. The beds were really comfortable and the house is nice and spacious and clean. My family especially enjoyed reading in the window seat! Your recommendations for restaurants and activities were so helpful and we loved the farmer's market and music. We basically parked the car and walked to just about everything. It was so nice to meet you at your Skiff Cafe coffee shop, I think I spelled that correctly, your coffee is so smooth and what a wonderful view of the river. Your communication was awesome, attentive and quick! Thanks for sharing your home and making our stay in Canada so wonderful!

    Debbie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon’s place is amazingly homey and each member of my family had their favorite place to just chill and relax. We had it good and were super close to the water front in Gananoque. My daughters loved the kayak tour and swimming at the local beach. And the neighbourhood is really quiet which makes for some good old fashion relaxing. Really a great find!

    Peter2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon's house is a "home away from home" and we felt very comfortable there. Gananoque is magical, many things are within walking distance and our children enjoyed going for a swim in the evening after our excursions on the local beach. We would like to have stayed longer.

  • The landlord is very good and the house is very close to the pier. It was just a narrow staircase. We only stayed for one night and didn't move the suitcase. This is an old house, the landlord is very well protected, not too willing to cook. There are very few kitchen utensils.

  • Barbara is particularly enthusiastic, detailing the room and sending in check-in tips in advance, especially indicating where to drive and where to go, etc. are very detailed. Next to the house is Qiandao Lake, which can be visited by boat. The old house, the stairs are narrow, and it takes a little effort to get big luggage. The bedding is very comfortable, the toiletries are very full, and the kitchen supplies are a little smaller. One room is in a three-story loft with a separate bathroom and a bathtub.

    Ling2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's house is very close to the lake, not very good at first, but Barbara is a very enthusiastic homeowner who reminded me how long it was. Due to the estimated traffic travel errors, the arrival of the day was a bit late, and Barbara was waiting patiently. thank you very much!

This three bedroom century home will take you back in time while offering all of the modern amenities you would expect while away on vacation. Located in the heart of downtown Gananoque, this space is perfect for family stays, a romantic weekend away or for small groups looking to enjoy the Thousand Islands.
When you walk into this home, you’re instantly greeted by a sweeping staircase that leads to three spacious bedrooms and one full bathroom. On the ground floor you can relax in the cozy living room that fills with light from the bay window overlooking the street. The dining room and kitchenette provide a relaxed space to snack and enjoy one another’s company around the large harvest table. Open the french doors to the large deck and fenced garden to enjoy sunsets over a glass of wine. **Please note that the suite does not contain a full kitchen. The kitchenette includes a sink, mini fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. There is a bbq outside, which guests are more than welcome to use. The guest space occupies the majority of this large Victorian home. The host lives in a small attached apartment with her confidant and bestie, Winston, a friendly black Labrador retriever who loves hikes, swimming and occasionally saying hello from the adjacent space. If you are severely allergic to dogs or would find the odd “Hey guys!” (i.e. bark) a disturbance, this may not be the ideal accommodation for you. One parking space is available to guests in the property’s private driveway. Gananoque has free on-street overnight parking from April until October, and there is always plenty of spaces available if you’re travelling in multiple vehicles.
This home is located on a beautiful, family oriented residential street in downtown Gananoque and is situated one block away from the town’s main street. This means you are within walking distance of a grocery store, shops, restaurants, town park and Gananoque’s glorious waterfront. Gray’s Beach Lookout is a five minute drive away, and Kingston is located 30 minutes to the west.

Maps of the area and suggestions for meals out, good reading material, a lovely large screen tv with Netflicks, bathroom amenities, luxurious bed linens and comfy beds. There is no stove, as mentioned in the listing, but microwave and toaster sufficed, combined with meals out. We used it as a base for our Thousand Island cruise and enjoyed exploring Gananoque. Thank you Jen for a great place to stay.

There is a large living room to sit and visit with your fellow travellers or us. Our home, built in 1905 is a designated heritage property and it's tin ceilings are special. The stained glass, front foyer and stairway show of the opulence of the era.
The River cruises are just a 12 minute walk away and run from May to October. The Casino is up near the 401 highway and easy to get to.

  • Quaint house situated in the head of Gananoque. Well made breakfast, international travellers at the B & B. Expect interactions with others. Clean bedrooms with an antique feel. Welcoming hosts Don & Marion telling about the history of the town. A unique experience!

  • This is a wonderful experience. Starting from DON opening the door, it is like walking into history. The corridor is filled with old photos of the landlord. The room is covered with thick carpets, walking quietly, large living room, colored glass. The old clock, the stairs and the public space are decorated with a lot of decorations. The restaurant is decorated with silver tableware, which seems to cross the old castle life. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom has a refined bathtub, all kinds of towels and toiletries. In the morning, when I walked down the stairs, I smelled the wheat scent of toast. The landlord had a variety of breakfast options, and the breakfast was very formal and refined. DON is very enthusiastic and has provided us with advice from many local restaurants. This is a wonderful stay on Anb. Next time you come to Ganano, you must stay here again. There are friends who come here to recommend DON's home.

Old Mill Cottage is located in a pristine natural setting. Featuring 530 feet of forested shoreline on the Gananoque River, the property boasts numerous river vistas, a riverside footpath, as well as a variety of quiet tranquil settings which offer the perfect opportunity to unplug and connect with nature. The sound of the running water immediately induces a sense of calm. The lower terraced lawn, with it’s garden and dock offer an ideal venue to lounge, swim, paddle (please see rules and regulations re: boating) and relax.
Located a mere ten minute drive north of the 401 in the beautiful 1000 Islands tourist region, Old Mill Cottage is situated in close proximity to a variety of tourist attractions, amenities, and exciting activities. Old Mill Cottage is nestled on the shoreline of the Gananoque River directly connected to a recognized paddling route highlighted by the Frontenac Arch Biosphere. Paddling downstream provides a peaceful voyage through forest and farmland. Eager paddlers can easily meander their way along the tranquil winding river into the picturesque town of Gananoque, Ontario. Heading north of the dam located just steps from the house, paddlers can explore one of the largest marshlands in North America featuring an abundant variety of bird life. The river eventually connects to a stunning network of Lakes beginning with Gananoque Lake. A short walk from Old Mill Cottage is the trailhead of well-maintained hiking trails. The Marble Rock Trail offers terrain for novice to more experienced hikers. Old Mill Cottage is located within minutes of several departure points for the 1000 Islands Boat Cruise. In addition, the house is just a short ride from the 1000 Islands Parkway path, which offers stunning views of the St. Lawrence River. Gananoque is a beautiful quaint town complete with grocery stores, restaurants, bars, health services, golf courses, kayaking tours, a Casino, a summer Theatre, and most amenities cottage dwellers may require. Lansdowne is a lovely country village with a country store that boasts an excellent butcher. For those seeking further entertainment, Brockville and Kingston are easily accessible; a short 35 minute drive away. For those wishing to explore abroad a little further, we recommend a visit to Jones Falls. There is a walking path complete with government information buildings that feature presentations describing both the history and the design of the famous canal. The ice cream shop located in the parking lot is a must! The above and much more are waiting to be explored in this vibrant tourist area. We highly recommend that guests pay a visit to the Gananoque Tourist Attraction Centre. The staff are friendly and the centre provides detailed information regarding virtually all services and activities offered in the area.
  • We loved our weekend get away stay at Mill Cottage and are already planning our next trip!! David is an excellent host who has thought of everything. Accessing the cottage and checking in/out were easy. The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable, and clean. The views of the river are awesome. The location is excellent for amenities and things to do - sightseeing, boating, walking trails, going into town, golfing, etc.

  • The Old Mill Cottage is one of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed. The cottage was cozy, lovely and sparkling clean. The location is magical, relaxing and has something for everyone in the family to do. We hope we have the opportunity to stay there again in the future. Thank you David for the chocolate and all the extras in the kitchen that allowed us to make a memorable Thanksgiving supper.

Multi-level house with large kitchen and dining room area on main level, large living room on lower level and a bar and pool table in games room in basement. Large deck and in-ground pool off the dining room/main level. One minute to VIA train station, 3 minutes to Shoreline casino and 8 minutes to the 1000 Island Boat tour docks. 15 minutes to Ivy Lea international bridge to the USA/I-81.
As a well-travelled person myself, I want to share both my home and my travelling experiences with other travellers so other people can enjoy travelling as much as I do. After having travelled all over Canada, 42 of the United States and Mexico, and have been made to feel welcome everywhere I have gone so it's time for me to return that hospitality.
It's semi-rural location but within 6 minutes of the town of Gananoque - Gateway to the 1000 Islands.
  • Nice and quiet

  • We made the right choice by staying at Karen's apartment instead of a hotel room. The apartment is spacious, clean and quiet. The location is great - within walking distance to the Thousand Islands boat cruise line, restaurants, and downtown. Check in/out is very easy. We will stay here again if we come back to the area in the future.

  • Karen was great. She went above and beyond and answered all my emails within minutes. The apartment is really well located for the waterfront. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend!
