Places to stay in Enfield
Come unwind after a long day at Teach na Síochána (House of Peace). Enjoy a hot shower and sauna or a soak in the tub and then grab some snacks from the kitchenette and watch a movie before drifting off to dream land. In the morning, fuel your day with some fresh fruit and a muffin before you head on your way. Less than fifteen miles from Dartmouth College and DHMC and just a hop, skip and a jump to Interstate 89, you'll find rest and rejuvenation when you stay at Teach na Síochána.
To clarify, the kitchenette consists of access to a microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, snacks, and seating for four. A continental breakfast will be offered in the morning. There is a mini fridge upstairs in the loft area.
We are walking distance to several markets, parks, beaches, walking and hiking trails. Driving distance to great ski areas, including our local favorite, Whaleback, The Little Mountain That Could, recently featured in a video on LL Bean's web site. Dartmouth College and DHMC as well as Interstate 89 are all less than 15 miles away.
  • Lisa and Tony are great hosts, they both have been very forthcoming when I ask for something. The suite is very nice and quiet. Enfield is a beautiful place and I can`t say enough about how wonderful it is to be here, and to be hosted by this fine couple. Thank you very much! Guests will feel restored staying here in an oasis of heaven.

  • The breakfast was above & beyond spectacular. Lisa & Tony provided a beautiful home, lovely conversation, and a truly exceptional breakfast. We will stay here 100% of the days that the ski resorts are not closed for coronavirus

  • We really enjoyed staying here and hope to be back in the future. The location is very convenient for exploring VT and NH. The hosts are fantastic and provided a delicious breakfast for us.

    Stefanaé2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • After researching many airbnb's in the area I chose Lisa's new listing. This turned out to be a great decision. Communication was good and she responded quickly. The living space in this suite was huge, clean and comfortable. Bigger and better than the pictures. They generously changed the breakfast offering to accommodate my son's dietary needs. If we ever return to the area again we will definitely book Lisa's place again.

  • We had an AMAZING experience on this place, I really don't know where to start with my review! The amenities are just perfect, Becky and AJ thought about every single detail in the place and each single one counts on the experience, they provide everything you need for a perfect stay. The couch is amazing, you could easily just sleep on it, the sliding doors leads you to this amazing field and if you can walk a little bit takes you to this beautiful forest and hiking trail, which is part of their property. We went in a snowy weekend and the hiking trail was amazing, they have snow shoes in case the snow is to fluffy to walk on regular boots. Getting back to the place, the bed is just perfect and the bedding provided us just the right amount of warmth needed for the cold night os New Hampshire. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you need for prepping yourself and pretty nice meal. So far this was the best experience I had in Airbnb.

    Vitor2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect resting place along our travels. Clean, functional, farmhouse feeling. The living room has an awesome couch for movies (and sleeping in our case!). Sliding doors open toward fields and forest beyond. No complaints!

    Mary2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough about Becky and AJ. I came to stay in-between a couple of long shifts. They were flexible with my check in time and made sure I had everything I needed. The space is quiet, clean, and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

    Heather2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Becky and AJ's for a snowy weekend! The place was spotless and had nice amenities. We especially loved exploring their property on snowshoes and they provided everything we needed! We hope to stay again in a new season!

    Erin2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was truly an excellent AirBNB stay. Becky and AJ’s apartment was exactly what I needed for my monthlong internship. They are great hosts who always communicated well throughout my stay. Beautiful home and property, with all the amenities you could ever need. For fishermen or kayakers, you can access the river right behind their house, which connects to Mascoma Lake. I will definitely book Third Field Farm again if I visit the Upper Valley in the future!

    Carlson2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Becky and AJ's place is a wonderful space for relaxation and creativity, with a deck that looks out on a peaceful vista.

    Alexander2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great space with easy access to Lebanon and Hanover. Beautiful property and great homey touches! Thanks

    Chris2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Becky and AJ's place. The hosts provided plenty of tips before we arrived, which helped plan our stay, and were available for more info after we arrived. Definitely check out the nearby ponds and the nearby towns (including Vermont)!

  • What a magical place! We went for a lovely walk in the woods in the fresh glittering snow and cooked several dishes in the well-equipped kitchen. For a charming old farmstead, the house is shocking warm and not at all drafty. The space is exactly what you need and the area is beautiful. We loved it and hope to visit again someday.

  • *5 Stars* Jade and Joe were the perfect hosts! Beautifully restored historical country home located on a huge piece of farm land, where there was so much to do. Downtown Bradford was a stone-throw away and full of places to eat and shop. Also a great scenic drive to Loon Mountain. What I loved most were the scenic views of the fields and woods from all sides of the house, including a fantastic view of Mt. Washington from the back porch. I also had the pleasure of meeting Joe and his family's awesome dog Max; Joe's an absolute genuine guy who not only made us feel at home, but did not hesitate to offer his assistance with anything to make stay more enjoyable. My family was sad to leave after only a couple of days, which is why we definitely plan on booking here again for a longer stay. Thank you again Jade and Joe, your home is an absolute Gem! P.S. - My dog had SO much fun tapping into his wild side, exploring, and playing with the neighbor's extremely friendly pups. He was absolutely exhausted.

    Sean2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jade's place was great. We had plenty of room to relax in the house with plenty to do to keep us busy and not bored. We had a great time exploring outside in the fields and sledding in the snow. It felt like we were home and didn't have to worry about anything.

    Karen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

    Jeannine2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t regret staying here, definitely in the top three locations we have stayed in. The house is perfect for a bigger group, and the space outside is breathtaking.

    Elizabeth2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very nice, clean and quaint. Also a nice quiet location. Would highly recommend.

    Paul2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely pristine spot in the Vermont countryside. This trip was our second stay at the location, and once again, the hosts and location do not disappoint. Thank you again for the wonderful stay, and we will certainly be back!

    Carson2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t say enough positive things about this place! The view is breathtaking, the land & the house offer so much to do. It is all the seclusion you want with all the amenities but town isn’t too far away ether. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer, but we will be back!

  • Very nice location, close to the parking spot and has wifi located nearby if needed to contact someone because there was no phone service in the surrounding area.

  • Screened in Lean-to with a hammock or place to put 2 sleeping bags. Absolutely gorgeous scenery and cozy fire pit! You’re able to buy firewood there, but don’t forget to pack a fire starting kit! 10/10 would stay here again.

    Alana2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • First time doing Airbnb. I really enjoyed my time on Eric’s land. There is enough space for privacy and enough quiet to simply listen to the river and blue jays. Very colorful banks in fall. Opportunity to see wildlife like turkey or deer. The host was kind and really cares! Hiking trails not far, Kancamagus 30 mins away. 10/10 would return to try his studio or treehouse.

    Kat2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Did not disappoint. It’s such a beautiful area to spend a relaxing few days. The best part was waking up to the sound of river dancing around. Eric was very nice and gracious host and made sure that we had everything we needed. Can’t wait to book my next trip up there!

  • Awesome camping on the river! Beautiful spot and great amenities.

  • This riverside hut is a really neat place to spend your evenings. Absolutely gorgeous in the fall time! The space was swept clean and the citronella candles were appreciated. Small torches light up the pathway at night. I enjoyed my night spent close to nature!

Our modern cabin was built in 2017 to optimize sunshine, open space, and efficiency. The 1100 sq ft includes an open living + kitchen area with lofted ceilings, two bedrooms and bathroom. Well insulated and warmed by radiant floors and woodstove. We love dogs, families + friend crews, so feel free to make yourself at home here. Ideal for both access to town (Dartmouth College and DHMC) and escaping it all in the woods. NEW PICTURES COMING SOON - message with questions!
The home is perfect for long stays with all kitchen appliances, as well as convenient for weekend getaways to the mountains. Let us know your plans and we would be happy to provide ideas. Health is a priority for us, so you'll notice that we use non-toxic, sustainable, and organic products, materials and cleaners. We ask that you respect this as well by not introducing synthetic fragrances (perfume, cologne, soap, candles). Our well water provides clean, mineral-rich and chlorine-free water to the whole house -- no filtration needed, and is tested regularly. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> While a car is required, we hope that it remains a tool for connecting you to the beautiful outdoors whether it be on your skis, hiking boots, or porch lounging. - 10 minutes to Dartmouth College and DHMC, town of Hanover including the Coop grocery store, Still North (local bookstore/cafe/bar), Farmhouse Pottery and Simon Pearce (handmade local pottery and glass, or visit their workshops 25-45 minutes away), Montshire Museum of Science, and Hood Museum of Art - 15 minutes to White River Junction including the Upper Valley Food Coop (our fave natural grocery), Juel Juice (GF and organic cafe), Wolf Tree (craft cocktail bar), Big Fatty's (casual barbecue restaurant and bottle shop) - 15 minutes to the Greens (trails upon trails for cross country skiing, trail running, hiking, walking - dog friendly, river crossings and so much beauty), and the Dartmouth Skiway (petite though awesome 2-chair ski resort) - about 1 hour from major ski resorts including Killington and Cannon etc. There are also tons of backcountry skiing options. For that local knowledge, message us! - other places we like: Fable Farm (wild yeast cidery and winery, tasting room open Saturdays in Barnard VT), Abracadabra Coffee (local small batch roaster, baked goods + taco truck, open weekends only in Woodstock VT), Worthy Kitchen (burgers and drinks in South Royalton or Woodstock VT), Antique Mall (all the overwhelming kitsch in Quechee VT) - summer swimming and canoeing ideas coming soon! there's a lot of water around here
We are just on the edge of Hanover, New Hampshire, full of academics and wildly intelligent folks in the medical field. Locals are tough, shovel their own snow into their 80s, and love to get outside even if they grumble about it. We are on the border of Vermont, divided only by the Connecticut River. Vermont in particular is full of the entrepreneurial spirt - there is so much opportunity here and young businesses are popping up all the time in a creative and supportive environment. Our particular street you will find quiet, as neighbors are fairly spread out. Feel free to wave on the road!
  • We had a great time here! The cabin is just as bright and clean as in the pictures. Really enjoyed the spacious back deck as well.

  • Great place. East to find. Feels enough like you’re in the woods to justify the name. Close enough to amenities to feel like a spoiled traveler. House is gorgeous and cosy for such a open layout.

A quiet country setting: two miles of dirt road lead to our house from the nearest paved road. We are surrounded by 1000 acres of land conserved by The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (SPNHF). We oversee the open spaces: cattle graze in the pasture and forage crops are grown in the fields in the summer, and maple sap is gathered in the early spring. SPNHF conducts forest research and harvests timber in the wooded areas. Hiking & non-motorized activities are permitted.
Our 1790’s post-and-beam farmhouse has wide-board, uneven, creaky floors upstairs and old, patched, mixed narrow and wide pine board floors downstairs. Original hand-hewn 25-foot hemlock beams—the width of the house—highlight the ceiling in the kitchen-dining room. Bedrooms are small, cheery, and comfortable. None has a separate closet, but door-racks, bureaus, shelves, and/or cabinets provide space for clothes. The “Blue Room”, so-called because of the blue-edged handmade quilt, is a small cozy, single-brass-bed room on the second floor. It is ideal for a hiker or biker who spends his/her time outdoors and wants a comfortable corner to lay his/her head for a good night’s sleep. The three upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom; downstairs bedroom has its own. All twin mattresses are new and very comfortable, covered with country-patterned quilts made by our niece. Being back in the hills, we have no TV, slow internet, and dubious cell reception. We do have a land line with unlimited free U.S. long distance, available to guests. We have a big selection of DVD & VHS movies, and the “Purple Room” has an old TV set that plays DVDs and VHS movies. We have hundreds of books.
There are miles of country dirt roads to explore on foot or by bike. One 3-mile road leads directly to New Hampshire’s only National Park, The Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site, open May through October. Kimball Union Academy, a college-preparatory school, is 6 miles away. The Cornish-Windsor bridge, the longest wooden covered bridge in the country, is 5.8 miles away. We are 18 miles south of both Dartmouth College and the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Two country stores, one 5.9 miles away, the other 4.3 miles, have gas, good delis, and friendly, local ownership. There is a supermarket 6.8 miles away in Windsor, VT (across the famous covered bridge).
  • Great place, extremely gracious and warm host.

  • I loved staying at Margaret's place! I had no trouble at all navigating to the house with Apple Maps. The house is lovely, and the location—a quiet, picturesque pasture at the end of the road—is unbeatable.

    Colin2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great value in a quiet out of the way spot, secluded and gorgeous.

    Ben2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay and enjoyed the drive to the place as well. Peaceful and pleasant. Margaret is a great host and always welcoming with a great smile.

    Karthik2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is not for everyone but for me, it was a perfect stay even though the power went out the last day I was there. I don't mind roughing it and Margaret made things as painless as possible. It's a perfect place to get away from the noise of the world including the internet! Beautiful fall colors. I wish I had more time to go for a hike around the property but I had a packed schedule. Enjoyed visiting with Margaret and her brother and learning the history of the home. Directions are superb but I would recommend arriving before the dark the first day. Margaret will meet you and guide you in if necessary. I did find the stairs a little steep for my older body but I managed. No breakfast food provided but had the use of the fridge and kitchen.

    Katherine2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Margaret's place while doing a trip to the area to see the fall foliage. Communication before the visit was great. Very clear instructions are given to her house beforehand due to possible signal problems. I saved the area as an offline map on google maps beforehand and was able to find it with no problems. Margaret and her brother are delightful conversationalists with some very interesting stories and anecdotes. I felt more than welcome as company, but was also comfortable retreating to my room. The lack of signal and wifi let me do a proper 'getaway from technology' night which I thoroughly enjoyed . The wifi was strong enough to text and with everything combined, I felt safe as a solo traveller. I also took the opportunity to walk around the vast land in the morning and ran into her delightful herd of cows. All in all, it was a great stay and I would definitely try to go back next year.

  • This idyllic farmstead in the woods was the perfect rustic place to rest my weary self after a full day of leaf-peeping in the hills of New Hampshire. Margaret was a gracious host and a delight to chat with. Highly recommended!

  • Margaret is such an amazing host. Her farmhouse is very charming and the room is so neat and clean. I enjoy the stay in her house very much. Also Margaret is very nice and humble. You will absolutely enjoy your stay there.

  • Denise's place is fantastic! She was a very relaxed and hospitable host, and her newly renovated house was a great place to stay. She opened her whole home to me and welcomed me in as if I was a friend. I would highly recommend her house to anybody wanting to stay in the area.

    David2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Denise’s awesome big blue house! It was the perfect location to get to DHMC (15 mins), WRJ/VA, and downtown Hanover (maybe 7 mins). Latham House is right down the way too! The house is impeccably clean and she has thoughtful touches throughout. The room was spacious with a large closet. The bathroom is huge! She had lots of recommendations for fun things to do in the area and even took time to take me to try mountain biking! Very welcoming and felt like home away from home. Highly recommend Denise’s home for anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish place to rest while exploring the Upper Valley or for rotations.

The Monet-Metcalf is an exposed-beam 1888 cottage, and is located on the 19th C. Cornish Art Colony estate of The Butternuts. We're nestled along the CT River in pastoral Cornish, NH, while only minutes from Dartmouth and a region rich in historic, artistic, natural and intellectual sites and events in both VT & NH. Cornish is the town that mesmerized Augustus Saint Gaudens, Maxfield Parrish, Willard Metcalf and J.D. Salinger—we think you'll understand why. Killington and Sunapee skiing nearby!
This 1888 cottage, built by our Great Aunt and Uncle, is on 36 acres on a bluff above the CT River. There is easy access to the BnB from Rte 12 A, which is just beyond the pines on the outer edge of the front lawn of the property. This cozy, 2-story space has two bedrooms tucked under the eaves on the second floor, and a living room, eat-in kitchen with full amenities, and the bathroom (large shower, no bathtub) on the first floor. For swimming, boating and fishing, there is direct CT River access provided by the town of Cornish, just south of our property. We do have air conditioning on the second floor if needed in the summer months.
We are situated in the heart of the Upper Valley, a buzzing four-season cultural area punctuated with picturesque New England towns and landscapes. Please refer to the guidebook map for our suggestions for the best hikes, lakes, skiing, excellent dining, shopping (tax free in New Hampshire!), apple-picking, kayaking, local breweries and distilleries, and more!
  • Jo is an excellent host! She is very easy to communicate with and very acomidating. She even provided breakfast for my check in day, which was awesome as I worked the overnight at the hospital that previous night. She always made sure she didnt have any thing going on in the mornings when I came home from work. Its very nice to have a landloard that thinks of a quite environment for night nurses during the day. I also had to make some adjustments to my stay and she was acomidating to that as well! Jo is the best host I've ever had on air bnb. 10/10 would stay again!

  • Jo’s cottage was very pleasant. She was a great host, and we enjoyed our time there!

    Jonathan2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jo and Shawn are absolutely wonderful hosts!!! I had a tough time getting here my first night (3 tornadoes in CT) and Jo was so wonderful to wait up for me, leave me something to eat since I had been driving 12 hours, and greet me with a smile and a hug! The cottage is so cozy and the location is amazing!! I highly recommend staying here and seeing all this charming town has to offer!!!

    Jessica2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jo was an excellent host- very accommodating and always made sure I had everything that I needed. She made a point to let me know that she was available whenever I needed something. She even helped me out with the dog who was sick while I was away at work. The apartment itself was quaint and very quiet. Jo was more than open to discussing ways to improve the stay for those in the future. The house is in the middle of the woods, so there are some gnats/mosquitoes which can be expected. Overall an excellent experience, and if I find myself in the area again, I would love to stay with Jo!

  • I had the best time staying at Giovanna's lovely home. I simply cannot say enough good things about Giovanna and her family. The loveliest, most welcoming, hospitable, kind and warm people I've met on Airbnb. I only stayed one day, but everyone made me feel so welcome and like part of the family. When I arrived the family were having a BBQ and they invited me to join, which I thought was super sweet and generous - and the food was delicious! Giovanna was so wonderful to talk to, she's just an amazing person all-round. The place was warm, welcoming, sparkling clean - the room I stayed in was super cozy, tidy, neat and private, as it was far from the living room, communal areas, kitchen, etc. The bed was comfortable and the room had plenty of space. I felt very much relaxed, at ease and at home in this wonderful family's beautiful home. Oh, and there is the cutest Pomeranian puppy ever! And good vibes all-round. Everyone was so kind. Seriously. Thank you so much for having me stay in your home, and I am so pleased to have met such wonderful people.

  • D Acres was a great place to stay. A few friends drove in to meet us for a weekend of climbing. We originally were planning to camp, but given the cold temps decided to try out D Acres Yoga room. It was easy to check-in, lots of friendly folks and super affordable. We plan on staying here again next weekend since it will be a bit too cold to camp.

  • Our stay was sadly only two days but we had such a great time! Everyone working on the farm was so nice and we met very interesting people. Rich was so kind to explain so many cool and interesting things about plants and we learned a lot. We would come again anytime! Oh and the cooking was very fun and the food was great.

    Sabine2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful peace filled place with wonderful people, amazing fresh farm to table food, and a true respect for our planet. The homestead was meticulously built with amazing woodworking details. We stayed in the Library Loft space which was full of terrific books on a variety of topics. For a unique experience on a farm, in the foothills of the White Mountains, you must stay here. Book direct at DAcres.org

A quiet location in the country, we’re located 25 minutes from Hanover NH, Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, as well as Vermont Law School and many summer camps such as the Aloha Camps, Camps Farnsworth, Billings and Lochearn. Located right around the corner is the Pema Osel Do-ngak Choling Buddhist retreat. There are two local hiking trails: The Cross-Rivendell and Appalachian Trails; two large lakes: Lake Fairlee and Lake Morey.
This house was the original one-room schoolhouse converted into a residence.
This neighborhood is very rural. One would want to appreciate being away from it all.
  • Stayed for 1 night at Richards. I had a lovely stay in an amazing tranquil setting. Lovely comfortable bed and pillows, always nice. Fully recommend for anyone wanting a quiet retreat, and peace and quiet.

Add a friendly black lab, super clean interior, you'll find the space a nice place to change the pace from whatever you're used to.

Welcome to Mascoma Lake! We are situated right on Mascoma Lake - just step onto the beautiful deck and enjoy breakfast with a view! The perfect location for relaxation but close to amenities as well. We are just 15 min. from Dartmouth College (9mi.) - Hanover, NH (quaint town) and just 9 mi. from West Lebanon, NH (Big Box shopping). We are just a short 20 minute drive to Quechee Gorge and are only 45 minutes from Killington, VT. Just grab a bag, your favorite book and head for the lake!
You will have access to the downstairs bedroom. (You will have access to that 1 bedroom - the other bedrooms are private.) It has a brand new queen mattress and custom storage unit. The bedroom is on the same floor as the kitchen, dining room and bathroom. You can walk out, on the same level to the deck, for a breathtaking view!
The Town of Enfield, NH was chartered in 1761, Enfield is located in the heart of the Upper Valley. Early on in our history Enfield developed into an agricultural community. The settlement of a Shaker community on Mascoma Lake ushered in a new era for Enfield. As the Shakers expanded their settlement they encouraged the railroad to pass through our community. Like many New England areas, we too benefited from our fast moving waters, in this case the Mascoma River, to assist in the expansion of local industry. Enfield enjoyed a vibrant mill industry for many decades, finally coming to a close in the 1970s. We are now a thriving 21st century community offering a wide variety of cultural and recreational activities for our residents and visitors. Our residents and visitors can enjoy any number of outdoor year round all-season recreational opportunities. We have over 3000 acres of conserved land and over 15 miles of shoreland waiting to be explored. Enfield also has vibrant arts community, including a professional theater, summer musical camps and several museums. As mentioned earlier - we are very close to Hanover, NH --- Woodstock, VT--- Quechee, VT
  • The most comfortable bed, ever! Extremely easy check-in. Melissa remained available to answer questions. Beautiful views of the mountain and lake. They have done an excellent job to renovate the home.

  • A very clean, very comfortable spot in a lovely location. One feels as though you are on a boat, gazing out over a beautiful expanse of Mascoma Lake. In the early morning I awoke to a beautiful sunrise as the sun came up over the hills through the mist. My stay was on a weekday in late September so it was pretty mellow. Thank you, Melissa, for making my introduction to Airbnb a positive one!

    Kathy2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's place is private, convenient, comfortable, and is a completely equipped kitchen and house! There are lots of options from quietly sitting on the deck, working a puzzle, binoculars for wildlife watching, or paddling around on the SUP! It is a great intro to Mascoma Lake and the vicinity, close to the Northern Rail Trail and Hanover! Highly recommend. Loved it.

    Wynee2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful spot on the lake! We took the canoe out for a paddle and enjoyed some great local hikes. Proximity to Dartmouth was great too. The place was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could want. The ping pong table proved good fun. We didn't meet Melissa but Bill Sr was there to greet us on arrival. Melissa was excellent with her communication and very helpful. Thank you! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Contemporary space, in town, 5 minutes from DHMC,Alice Peck, walking distance to downtown Lebanon.
  • Cozy apartment within walking distance from gas stations, Chesters fried chicken, Subway, a downtown area with ma and pa shops and also less than a 10 minute drive from larger restaurants, Walmart, larger shops, Dartmouth College, etc... Modern kitchen, floors, lighting, living room, and clean when I arrived. Great bang for the buck! Curtains are somewhat thin and see through so I hung up my own black out curtains (travel nurse, night shifter) while I was there for my own personal preference. Sometimes can hear neighbor walking as some things are creaky but nothing that was a huge bother. Parking right out front of door so that was nice. If you’re looking for a private place to stay with everything included and in a good location you found it! The host Janet is very quick at responding and is easily reached if you need something. Would stay again!

    Keith2020-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful Stay!!

The Chalet we called the Love Shack 25 years ago grew with our family into this Comfortable Contemporary with well cared for gardens. Claudine and I welcome you. A quiet setting is yours for relaxing after a day spent exploring the amazing offerings of the Upper Valley. No additional fees for extra person or cleaning.
Your bedroom, bath and sitting room are located on the lower level of our home which allows you complete privacy. Coffee and Tea Service is set up in your room. Our pets are never allowed in your private rooms.
The Hawk Pine area is a wooded area with trails and lovely country roads to stroll. Still it is just a quick 20 minute walk to the village at just over one mile. Just over 2 miles puts you on the Hanover Green and Dartmouth College.
  • Super clean, quiet, and very convenient/close to King Arthur Flour ... if I take another multi-day class, I’ll definitely try to stay here again.

    Indira2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough good about My experience here! I was taking a multi-day class at King Arthur Flour and chose this listing over staying at a hotel. I’m so glad I did! The drive is literally 5 minutes to King Arthur and the suite of bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom is very private and comfortable. I really appreciated how communicative Rob was — he made checking in so easy and was very friendly and easy to talk with (he’s a huge music buff and recommended great albums I had never heard of!) Highly recommend this listing — I’ll stay again if I’m in the area! Thanks again, Rob!

1 to 3 month rental only. This fully furnished and equipped, quiet comfortable home is located 5 miles North of Hanover, NH, one mile from Lyme. The main floor bathroom & bedroom offered close off with a door that can be secured with your personal lock. Share kitchen and some living space with the owner who lives quietly upstairs. There is a garage. Easy 10- 12 minute straight shot to Hanover, Dartmouth College, Geisel School. 17 min. to DHMC hospital. A mature Himalayan cat lives here.
Very tranquil and quiet, the house is located off the beaten track. All windows look out at nature. It's located just far enough away yet close to everything.
This is a private house in a very quiet neighborhood. You can hear an owl hoot, it's so quiet. It's not uncommon to see deer in the front lawn.
  • Margaret was such a great host! The place was always spotless and she gave me the space I needed. No being forced to interact constantly. I worked a lot of hours while I was there and didn’t always want to talk after a shift. I will definitely be back, and I would refer her place to anyone I know!

  • This was our third time staying here. So needless to say, we really like this place. It is very comfortable with a private bed and bath and close to Dartmouth. Margaret is an awesome host and makes us feel at home. After having stayed at 4 other places near Hanover this is easily our favorite.

Do you enjoy Glamping? We are near Woodstock/Quechee and you’ll love us if you enjoy natural setting, rustic woods surrounded by old stone walls and a heavenly pond. Get out and explore the Upper Valley, returning to the cozy 1955 El Rey trailer or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. We are experienced innkeepers from So Pasadena CA having managed The Bissell House Bed & Breakfast 15 years. Thanks to all who stayed with us last year. We are now closed for the season and will reopen mid-June.
Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our vintage trailers are just the spot! Our 12 acre property is heavily wooded and late spring through fall are great times to enjoy the outdoors. Camping with a trailer is a fun experience. While we do not have a kitchen, our outdoor cook station has some basics for you. These include a 3 burner stove, BBQ grill and smoker, pans, utensils, olive oil and a communal mini fridge. Bring anything else that you want to add for your own comfort, such as cooler. You may want to bring flashlights and rain gear. There are many choices for dining in our area if you prefer to eat out. Our Curtis Wright is 72 years old and the El Rey is 64 years old. Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, awnings etc. that function according to their age and we will be upgrading them periodically. These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy! Your trailer is down by the pond, nearby is the large fire pit, composting outhouse, stove and BBQ grill. Our sweet wildlife pond is pristine, spring fed, and has an abundance of wildlife in and around it. You may even see the barred owls hunting for frogs at night. Both trailers are pondside, the El Rey is across from the Curtis Wright. Swimming is allowed, Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off prior to swimming and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond. We rent either the 1955 El Rey or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. See our other listing for the second trailer. This listing is for the 1955 El Rey. This is our 2nd year to offer the Curtis Wright Airstream, please see our other listing for it. It’s titled “Good Night Moon Vintage” Airstream Glamping. Nights can be chilly so be prepared with warm clothes. Please be aware of weather conditions as rain can impact your camping! That’s part of what makes it so fun to be inside a trailer instead of in a tent on the ground! However mud can be part of your experience outside the trailer. You are welcome to build a fire in the fire pit and toast marshmallows or grill....Kindling is plentiful around the grounds, however please purchase your wood locally for whatever you intend to use, or order from us. We do ask that you start your fire the old fashioned way and do NOT use gas, diesel etc. which will leech into the pond and harm our wildlife. We have charcoal bags and wood on site for sale usually, advance request is much appreciated and pay upon arrival by the bundle. Our wonderful resident bats do a great job at night clearing insects! Sit out by the pond and watch them arrive at dusk! Our Phoebe Flycatchers build their mud nests all over the property and have 2 baby bird hatchings usually by mid-summer. They help keep insects down as well. If it’s a clear night, the stars are usually amazing in the sky over the pond. We live up in the house and are available to you as much as you’d like! We prefer that you do contact us with your needs to ensure a great experience. We have a new composting toilet outhouse. For showers, guests can make the 5.7 mile drive down to Quechee State Park and pay a $4 day fee to use the solar showers which take quarters. We also have a freestanding shower enclosure that you may use with solar water bags that you will fill daily and heat when there is sun. It will take time so plan ahead. If it’s been cool or cloudy, the water will not be warm. This year 2020 we will be building our outdoor shower so stay tuned for photos when that is completed.
We are on a private road on a mountaintop so access is limited to just our guests and our neighbors. Wildlife abounds in the heavily wooded neighborhood. You might see deer, raptors, turkey, bear and occasionally moose as well as all sorts of birds, even Pileated Woodpeckers. Our Phoebe Flycatchers fledge near or in the summer kitchen each year. As a special treat, our Barred Owl fledglings were here every evening in July last year, you can still hear them at night sometimes well into the fall.
  • We had such a lovely time at El Rey! The airstream was super cozy and the fire pit was perfect.

  • We loved our stay in Juli and Jim's camper! The location is very beautiful and quiet, both Jim and Juli were lovely and provided lots of useful information about the area, and staying in a camper that was older than me was great fun and a unique experience. Highly recommended if you look for a place to get away from it all for a bit.

  • Juli and Jim were great hosts and went out of their way to greek our arrival, despite several complicated issues causing us to arrive several hours later than expected, well after 9PM, but Juli nevertheless greeted us and walked us through the paces to take the most advantages of their well appointed clamping opportunity. And, although their property is deep in the Vermont woods, with a beautiful set up clamping site, offering only two basic trailers for separate couples, very comfortable sleeping arrangements, with a seperate, protected, covered food prep area, with modest refrigerator storage for two couples and sufficient meal support for cooking for several days of clamping, plus a large, clean and pleasant electronically operated outhouse styled toilet, outfitted with appropriate toiletries, keeping within an "outdoor, deep in the Vermont woods", setting, and eitherJuli or Jim are very often, unobtrusively present, nearby on their property to address any clamping issues to make your clamping experience exceptional. Make no mistake, this is "deep woods" campsite, clamping experience, in a beautiful, rural setting, in the best sense.

Charming furnished bedroom available for rent in country home. Would be perfect for traveling nurse or intern at DHMC or APD. Bedroom with a queen sized bed and dresser/amoire and a private bathroom. Close to Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital (12 miles, 20 minute drive) and close to exploring the Upper Valley/Lake Sunapee region. Discounted rate for a 30+ day stay. 4 wheel/All-wheel drive recommended as driveway is fairly steep and can be difficult in the winter.
House has beautiful views and you can enjoy deer and wildlife while you sit in the comfort of a screened in porch. Must like animals as owners have a dog and horses and would consider guest having a dog

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). A camping spot on the farm. Bring your tent.
The farm is a busy place with lots of animals lambs, chickens, and Rosie oh my! and lots more. Bring your tent or I can set one up for you for a small fee. Recreation area with basketball, horseshoes, hiking trails and more
  • Brian and Terry are great hosts, and the camp site is a beautiful place to stay the night.

  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the farm! It was a last-minute find, so we really appreciated the “insta-book” feature of this air bnb. We felt like we had our own private campground, equipped with a personal petting zoo too (the pigs were SO friendly!)! The landscaping was breathtaking, to say the least. Our tour-guide (their pup), Bella, was also amazing and made our trip complete. We really enjoyed the assortment of lawn games that were at our disposal. If we are ever back in the area, we would definitely want to stay here again. Brian was extremely quick with responses. He and his wife were the sweetest -they were extremely thoughtful and hospitable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We would highly recommend this air bnb for anyone looking to camp out in VT!

  • Very good place to camp and plenty of trees for a hammock. Be sure to communicate with Brian for specific directions or you could miss it. Brian is a great host and very friendly.

  • Brain's place is the perfect place to get away from everything! We had the most perfect view of the stars and such a quiet and peaceful environment. Brian was a great host, so friendly and generous. The road to his place is a bit bumpy but it's so worth it!
