Places to stay in Crymych

Places to stay in Crymych
The cabin is located in stunning scenery, nestled midway between Carningli Mountain, Ty-Canol ancient oak woodland & the foothills of the Preselis & only 3 miles from the sea. With an outdoor hot tub, it's easy to kick back and relax.
Our fully insulated wooden cabin is just a couple of miles from Newport, Pembrokeshire. The cabin perches on the top of one of a series of 3 nearby mounds (the origin of which is still unclear, but you can see the other two from the garden) and over looks stunning scenery. The building is sunny, warm, light and airy, with a woodburning stove for when the weather is cooler. The water is heated by solar panels and a log boiler down in the main house. The hotub and garden has lovely views and you can sit back and enjoy incredible sunsets behind carningli mountain. Guests and friends often tell us that they have not slept and relaxed so well for a long time. Maybe it's because there are very few places left in Britain where you cannot hear the hum of a busy road or the sound of vehicles every few minutes. Here at the cosy Cabin, the small lanes are extremely quiet and you are completely surrounded by nature. All around you are hills, mountains, wooded valleys, streams and great mature oaks, ash and sycamore. Except for the neighbouring farm buildings, you could easily believe that you are tens of miles from civilisation; yet just over the side of Carningli (the rocky ancient volcano you can see from the garden) and only 3 miles away is the small bustling town of Newport. Newport is a tiny town that has an incredible variety of attractions including farmers market (on Mondays), award winning cafes, pubs and restaurants, local shops and art galleries and of course the sea with a beautiful sandy beach, cliff walks and sandunes. Before going into more detail I need to be clear on the location and type of property this is. The cabin has a compost loo which is a dry system that works without a flush, where the waste is converted into fertile soil for the apple trees. The loo does not smell bad in case you were wondering, but is not the same as a flush toilet. Access to the cabin involves some steep steps and a slightly uneven path with some leaves and loose small stones. It is not a modern set-up with a tarmac driveway with all the latest mod-cons (unless you're talking super comfortable beds, cooking, showering and hotub!) The best thing to do before booking is read through a number of reviews as well as much of the description as possible to get a feel for the place to make sure it's right for you. The cabin is open plan with a large curtain to separate the downstairs bedroom. There is a king size bed downstairs and a double mattress upstairs, and a travel cot if needed. We only make up the downstairs bed when there is one person or a couple staying, but if you'd prefer to sleep upstairs, just let us know before your stay. There is an electric shower and heated towel rail in the bathroom. The garden has chairs and there is a veranda for undercover outside dining. The outdoor electric hot tub is partly powered by the solar panels in the garden (as is the whole cabin), and it is hot and ready to use all the time. We will need access to the hot tub to check the levels, change filters etc if needed, but we always try to do this while guests are out. While we do provide a set of towels (one bath towel and one hand towel per guest), it might be an idea to bring an extra towel for the hot tub, and maybe a dressing gown. Some slip on shoes would also be useful for going between the cabin and the hot tub. As we are out in the sticks, mobile service is intermittent, but most networks can get signal somewhere, even if it means a trip to the garden or short walk into the field. There is no landline or internet in the cabin. We have been toying with the idea of getting the cabin connected, however, every single guest (even those that were expecting wifi) have told us at the end of their stay they were so happy not be distracted by their mobile phones, email etc. And that their experience was so much richer for it that we should definitely not introduce it... being cut off from social media addiction for even just a few days is incredibly relaxing and refreshing and is so rare these days. It is easy to forget how good for the mind the experience of spending quality time together, reading, playing games, talking and being able to completely relax is. So if you are worried about being off screen for a few days, don't be, as it really does make for a fantastic experience. Many of the pubs etc in newport do have free wifi if you do need to get online. If you would like to have a tv with DVD player please enquire and we should be able to provide without issue The cabin is self catering, and the kitchen is fully equipped, with a fridge, kettle, toaster and an induction cooker and Samsung oven which are super efficient and a pleasure to use. Some basics are provided, like salt, pepper, some herbs and spices and cooking oil. There will be complimentary tea and coffee (ground, for the caffetiere). There is no washing machine, but I would be happy to do a wash for you at a cost of £2 a load. We also have a dryer, which would be an extra £2, but there is also a drying line outside the cabin. Newport has a launderette too, opposite the Golden Lion pub. Bedding and bathroom towels are provided. If it's raining, there is a fantastic new local cafe in Newport called Pwnc that has an indoor climbing wall free for cafe customers and great for kids. there are also great indoor theme parks like Blue Lagoon etc. not too far away, and the hotub can be fun in the rain. There are a host of other fair weather types of activities close at hand too.
North Pembrokeshire is much quieter than the south and has a unique combination of rocky outcrops, stunning beaches and coastal path, wooded valleys and enclaves, friendly neighbours and a night sky with hardly any light pollution, resulting in a fantastic the view of the stars. The more well-known stunning beaches of Newport, Poppit and Whitesands are interspersed with little gems that are much quieter and actually often much more beautiful such as Cwm Yr Eglwys only a few miles away. The neighbourhood is a mix of traditional welsh farmers, smallholdings and people that have chosen a sustainable path and live off the land (this includes communities such as Lammas and Brithdir Mawr, as well as groups of families that share giant vegetable growing plots and a cow where each household takes a turn at milking!), stone farmhouses and cottages interspersed with hobbit style dwellings and homes made from natural materials. The Gwaun Valley that starts at our property is a sight in itself. Its vast densely wooded sides leads down to a welsh community that has culturally changed very little for centuries. They still celebrate their own new year, have a primary school still running strong with only 24 pupils in total and have a pub that is old as they come and only serve beer from jugs. There are plenty of beautiful sights and places of interest within walking distance along beautiful winding quiet backroads. The large organically farmed field next door with the large oak tree atop an ancient mound is ours and provides a stunning short walk or sports/activity ground (we have football nets to borrow), depending on the livestock! Ty canol woods (less than 1 mile away) is home to an ancient stunted oak woodland, rocky outcrops and carpeted in mosses and lichens, it is like walking into a fairytale book. The woods lead on to the larger rocky outcrops of Carnau meibion Owen which looks out to the preseli hills and also the ancient burial chamber of Pentre Ifan. The heather strewn slopes of Carningli mountain (less than 1 mile away) are well worth a climb, the views from on top are spectacular. Newport has a stunning large sandy beach with dunes and is great for swimming. The town of Newport has become famous for its array of great cafes, restaurants and shops including a wholefood shop, butchers, hardware store, fishmongers (specialising in locally caught fish), pharmacy, newsagents, craft collective, antique centre, Spar and a local produce market on a Monday morning. Our closest neighbours (300 yards ish), Simon and Kerry at Tyriet farm have opened a micro brewery (Bluestone brewing co.), and you can drop in and pick up a bottle or three of their finest ales.
  • The cabin is a great place to stay if you want to kick back and unwind. We had an amazing two nights and especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub.

  • Maya and Robyn are great hosts, they welcomed us warmly, showed around the cabin. It was straight forward from that moment, we didn’t need too much from them, but we knew they are there if there is any help needed. The best thing is - no WiFi, no signal, no tv - everything you need to spend couple of nights away - board games, hot tub and talking to your other half! Such a refreshing experience in this very fast world! You won’t regret booking this place!

    Balazs2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Maya and Robin’s place. It’s cosy and in a beautiful spot. We received great local tips from Robin and just loved the area. Newport is a really pretty little town and has lots of nice cafes and places to walk; the views over it from Carningli hill were amazing (one of Robin’s tips). There’s some info on the listing which you should read before staying, such as there not being any WiFi which might not be appreciated by everyone, but I’m pretty sure it contributed to how well I slept the entire time I was here and how relaxed I felt. I also loved that there was a cupboard full of board games to get stuck into, and the hot tub was perfect.

  • Really lovely place. Stand out features were the amazing location, gorgeous little cabin with a brilliant wood burning stove and a fantastic hottub. Also nice to have plenty of wood provided, real coffee in the kitchen and the hottub was properly hot!

    Sophie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in the hut! It was perfect for a country side get away, with a lovely town near by on the coast. Even though it was winter the hut was so toasty and warm with the wood burner. There was loads of amenities and we were able to cook. The hot tub was the icing on the cake, would really recommend and would love to go back. Lydia

    Lydia2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place really is a gem. Hidden away you really do feel in your own world. The hot tub is amazing! With beautiful views and countryside as far as you can see. The accommodation is beautiful. It’s bigger than the pictures show. All the amenities you need. Bliss to have no signal, no Wi-if, no Tv. Just books and relaxation. If you want to have a few days away from a hectic work life this is perfect. Host was very accommodating when we had to move dates and very responsive. Two beautiful cats give us a visit too!

Quiet Earth Eco House; A really magical place; Grand Designs Eco home award winner 2008 is a two storey loadbearing straw bale house (first in the UK). A luxurious off grid home, offering a truly sustainable experience in a very beautiful and quiet haven. Situated in St Dogmaels on a hilltop overlooking breathtaking views of Cardigan estuary, close to local beaches and the Pembrokeshire coastal footpath. We look forward to supporting your retreat here and sharing the many gifts of this place.
This straw bale eco retreat home was self built between 2003-05 and generated much attention due to it's unique nature. Please read the full description before booking! It is a beautiful peaceful retreat centre, offering special time to relax in an untouched woodland upon a hill overlooking spectacular views of the Teifi estuary. There are various idyllic beaches within a couple of miles of here and many inspiring walks. We are two miles from the start of the Pembrokeshire coastal path. It is also an off grid home, powered by the sun and the wind and this is one of it's important features, giving one the opportunity to experience living with the elements and being powered by them. Low energy appliances may be used with awareness such as occasional laptops etc. (no hairdryers/ straighteners or heating appliances). The Nature of this place does also invite the visitor to just enjoy being switched off for a while and to experience the gifts of the environment. Downstairs you will find a large open plan kitchen and living room with a wood stove which heats the whole house. There is a downstairs bathroom in a rounded stone turret with sunken bath and rain water harvested toilet. Water is solar heated and back boiler heated in the winter. The house offers a long conservatory to enjoy the stunning estuary views. We have 2 delightful and gentle cats here called Elma and Arthur in the house and then daphne the dog who will be with us in the eco lodge close by. We can arrange at times for the cats to be out of the house and use the conservatory for short periods. If you have serious cat allergies however this may not be for you. Upstairs offers a beautiful and spacious open plan room which offers itself as a luxury bedroom and studio for a couple or a space for family or occasionally a retreat space for a group of up to 8 with low futon style beds. We have also now opened up the large beautiful attic bedroom as an extra room with a double mattress and space for more. This is accessible by ladder. In the warmer months there occasionally is a self contained eco lodge too. The wood fired hot tub will Only be available from early summer at certain discretionary times for long staying guests who can enjoy the ritual of gathering wood, heating the stove and then bathing under the stars. Please note; this takes a good few hours to prepare and so is Not available for short stays due to the sustainable aspect of this centre. The woodland is terraced, with paths for visitors to explore and we are currently developing a forest garden. We also encourage artists and writers in residence to spend time here working in a natural and supportive environment on a project. We can offer subsidy for this also at times. Please note; this is a natural straw bale/ clay built home and we hire a wonderful cleaner to scrub the place...we use no chemicals in the process.. it is perfectly clean in the best eco natural way possible. Yes, there can be spiders and insects around in the summer.. please bear this in mind as a natural part of living close to Nature.
The beauty of this place is all that Nature has to offer along with the gifts of many of the creative people living in the nearby village and surrounding area. There are many circular walks for which we can give directions. We are situated at the beginning of the pembrokeshire coastal path and close to an array of stunning beaches. Our local beaches Poppit and Mwnt have regular sitings of bottle nosed dolphins and seals. Cardigan town is a few miles away along the estuary and offers shops, restaurants, theatre, cinema, spa and a heritage centre. In the heart of the village is a ruined Abbey, a visitors centre and cafe. The village offers a good few pubs along the river, a wonderful deli with homemade produce and cafe. We encourage guests to visit our local produce markets and organic market gardens. Most foods can be bought locally. The gift of this home is that it is secluded in a woodland and yet a walking distance to the village estuary and beaches.
  • We really enjoyed our stay, it was great to get into nature more and take a brake from living in a city. This trip really opened our eyes to a more sustainable way of living, something I am striving towards my self. Lots of land around the house to explore and the wood and log burner kept us warm in the evening. Shop and a pub are walking distance. Thank you

Part of a beautiful old stone mill transformed into a 1 bed luxury holiday cottage, nestled in 13 acres of pasture & woods, only 3 miles from the fishing village and stunning beaches of Aberporth and 5 minute drive from the historic town of Cardigan.
Cryngae Mawr Farm was founded in the 1820s to make use of the natural spring to power a mill and dairy. Its sits in a sheltered spot with stunning views across the countryside and lots of nooks and crannys to explore. The Coach House itself is a traditional stone building with walls over 2ft which was originally used to store the farm coaches and run the mill workings. It has recently been converted to a high standard providing a mezzanine bedroom, ensuite luxury bathroom with power rain shower and a large open plan kitchen and lounge with large double sofa bed. The Coach House has a private garden to front but also has a sunny open garden area to the rear leading to the woods and streams beyond.
The Cardigan Bay area was voted by lonely planet as best place to be in the world right now, its absolutely stunning with cliff walks, sandy bays, pristine national trust beaches and small fishing villages with local pubs and restaurants. Cardigan town is a short drive away and has an abundance of local shops, artisan bakers, pizza makers and award winning restaurants. The area is famed for outdoor pursuits such as coasteering, surfing, sea kayaking, sailing, mountain biking and walking; its known as the best location in the UK to spot dolphins, puffins and rare wildlife.
  • The Coach House is the perfect place to stay when exploring this part of Wales. When we arrived the cottage was warm and cozy, and Shaun had left Welsh cakes and drinks which got us off to to good start. The cottage is impeccably kept, and  located in beautiful countryside. Close to many beautiful beaches - we particularly enjoyed Popitt Sands, Porthgain and Aberport and .Supermarkets, cafes and restaurants can all be found in nearby Cardigan. For breakfast we loved Crwst in Cardigan, and delicious fresh ice cream from Pointz Castle near Solva. We had a great time, highly recommended. We'll be back. Thanks!

  • A lovely cottage in a great location, a short drive from the beautiful beach in Aberporth. Shaun was very hospitable and the property had everything we needed. It was also excellent value for money.

  • A rustic farm arrival to be surprised by a modern converted coach house with all modern cons. Warm, cosy, very comfortable bed and pillows and lovely hot shower. Everything one could want for a wonderful stay. Finding the place can be a little worrying, but after following Shaun's directions we found the place easily. Had a small hassle getting onto wifi, but once logged in it worked perfectly. Highly recommended.

On a family smallholding in beautiful rural Carmarthenshire, the cosy, historic cottage has been lovingly renovated to include underfloor heating, woodburning stove, well equipped 'farmhouse' kitchen, private garden and outdoor electric hot tub for your exclusive use during your stay and a shared games barn. Plenty of family-friendly activities and both coasts are within easy driving range. One well behaved dog welcome, please see dog rules. Please read description and house rules carefully.
The cottage has been carefully renovated using lime, and other sustainable building materials. We have installed high tech heating and hot water that is super eco friendly and reliable. No matter what time of year you stay it will be cosy: as well as underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, there is an optional woodburner with complimentary starter pack of logs and kindling. The whole cottage is well equipped with a fantastic bespoke 'farmhouse' kitchen including antique Welsh dresser, traditionally oiled Welsh slate worktops, a belfast sink, Neff dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, Bosch fan oven, coffee maker and Miele washing machine. Outside is our fantastic, luxury hot tub, the perfect way to relax and unwind! The hot tub is electric, so ready at the touch of a button and we use 'skin friendlier' bromine to keep it sparkling clean. The tub has been carefully sited on it's own patio area adjacent to the cottage garden, which ensures both easy access for over 16's to the tub and a safe area of garden for young children. The tub takes in the stunning countryside view and during the evening our very dark skies make it a perfect spot for stargazing. Even on a wet night, with the fairy lights on and the soothing jets going it's a perfect way to end your day. We live next door and it's an outdoor hot tub, so it's not completely private, however we feel that the carefully considered landscaping balances guest's privacy and the view from the tub; the vast majority of guests who have used the tub have loved it, we hope you will too. Upstairs the 2 bedrooms have beautiful views, radiators, waxed wooden floors and comfortable beds. The romantic master bedroom has a period fireplace and super comfortable brass bed with luxury wool duvet and feather pillows - we've had lots of guests remark on what a wonderful night's sleep they've enjoyed! The bunk bed room has been carefully planned as a children's space, with a great collection of kids books, and has a built in cupboard with hanging space and drawers and the window has a blackout blind and curtains.. The bathroom upstairs has a bath with Mira thermostatic shower over, with glass shower screen. There is a heated towel radiator and we supply luxury Egyptian cotton towels. Other provisions include TV with Freesat, DVD player and Amazon Fire Stick, BBQ, games barn with table tennis, travel cot (up 10 15kg/can't climb out), highchair (up to 15kg) and a good selection of books, toys, games and collection of DVD's. The skies here are perfect for stargazing as we have very little light pollution. The local roads are very quiet and there are plenty of countryside walks. We actively encourage wildlife, have re-established wildflower meadows and planted over 7000 native trees. As a result we have lots of birds to watch, including Herons, Woodpeckers and Wood Warblers, we frequently see Sparrow Hawks, Red Kites, Buzzards, and visiting Barn Owls, to name but a few! Guests can access the river, at the bottom of the field -which is fun to splash around in, or a great place for a picnic. However if you're quiet you might even spot the Kingfisher? Newcastle Emlyn (9 miles) and St Clears (8 miles) are both within easy reach for shopping and some fantastic restaurants and we sell eggs and "the best meat we've ever eaten", according to some of our guests. If you're a knitter or crocheter, why not treat yourself to some of our luxury 100% alpaca wool too? The cottage is on our small family farm; run on Organic, pesticide free principles, nestled in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. We raise a variety of traditional & rare breed animals, producing the very finest quality meat. Although the farm feels very tucked away, it is easily accessible. If you would like a 'farm tour' we're happy to show you round and introduce you to some of the farm animals. We offer a whistlestop free tour, or an extended payable tour where you can meet and feed some of our animals. If you would like one of our very popular finest quality and locally sourced food hampers, homemade birthday cake or loaf of organic farmhouse bread, then please ask for details!
For day to day shopping you can't go wrong with Newcastle Emlyn to the north, jam packed with small independant shops and cafes. To the south is St Clears with a supermarket and art centre and we are only a 20 minute drive from Carmarthen. There is plenty to explore nearby; some of our favourite spots include Fynnone woods with it's dramatic waterfall and Tenby, Llansteffan, Laugharne and Llangrannog for their beaches and castles. For those looking for adventure Oakwood adventure park is a short drive away, as are Anna's Zoo and Blue Lagoon water park. For a spot of culture (aside from any of Wales' 600+ castles!) we are within easy reach of the National Botanic Gardens, Dylan Thomas' boat house and the Gwili Valley Steam railway to name but a few. For food enthusiasts Caws Cenarth cheese factory and tasting room is not to be missed and we have some award winning restaurants within a short drive.
  • This little cottage was a great find. Claire and Oly were awesome hosts and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and make our weekend anyway a special one!

  • A lovely place remote , rural location, peaceful and relaxing. The cottage was well equiped and cosy. The main bed was so very comfartable it's worthy of a special mention!!! Claire & Oli were there when we needed them but not intrusive, they kept in touch to make sure everything was okay - perfect hosts!

    Clare2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful cosy space, all the little touches made our stay even more special. Thank you Claire and Oli!

    Karissa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Claire and Oli’s cottage was absolutely beautiful. It was sparkling clean and so so cosy. Claire was always on hand when we had questions and recommended some great places for us to visit, including Ffynone Waterfall, which was so picturesque. We went on the farm tour with Oli. It was great! Oli was really knowledgable and it was interesting to hear about their journey with the farm. We would absolutely recommend staying here. The cottage was super peaceful, the hot tub was great, and not too far from some of the bigger towns. We’d even go as far to say it was our favourite Airbnb stay. Thank you Claire and Oli ☺️

  • Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. It was sparkling clean with lovely touches. We had an amazing time.

    Kasia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Superb - this is a real gem, and not just because it's very cosy, picturesque and run by two friendly hosts. It's also one of the most environmentally conscious BnBs I've ever stayed in. Huge efforts have been made to make the house as environmentally friendly as possible and the same goes for the farm and local produce as well. The hot tub and wood burning stove are also great fun. I would strongly recommend staying here if you're passing through Carmarthenshire, particularly if the environment is an issue close to your heart.

    James2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rural, homely cottage on a small working farm. Easy to find following Claire's directions. Made full use of the log burner and hot tub! Helpful instructions on how to use these are provided. We had ideal weather and clear, starry nights which made our stay extra special. We will be back in the near future

  • A warm and friendly welcome is ready when you arrive. The hosts have great communication and information in advance. A beautiful little lodging which was perfect for our family of three. The cottage was well equipped and the fire was lit for our arrival, making it a cosy and comfortable place to settle into easily. Bean and Angus were fantastic hosts with excellent attention to detail and great local knowledge. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen basics were provided which was a great touch. It was a fantastic location to explore the west coast from and a joy to drive back to each day.

Clydfan (means 'cosy cottage' in Welsh) is one of two south-facing former quarryman's cottages looking toward the Preseli mountains. Originally two-up-two-down, the cottage was extended to the west in the 1970s for a kitchen and bathroom to be added and the two downstairs rooms are now a tiled through lounge. It's small, but set in a large garden; part wild and part lawned, so plenty of places to hide in. Footpaths lead to the slate quarries and to Glogue.
You'll be a secluded half mile from the road, sharing the un-made track with the quarryman's cottage next door and some horses. Tegryn village has a pub almost in walking distance (uphill) while Crymych and its shops is four miles. So it's a hideaway from which you can launch expeditions to tour the area - or just hideaway in.
Apart from the country walks on your doorstep, everything's a car ride away: Cardigan is 20 mins and beyond that the Poppit Sands beach. Aberaeron and the honey ice cream shop is 3/4 hour heading towards Aberystwyth and the other way Britain's smallest city of St Davids is an hour. Or just stay home and enjoy the view.
  • Perfect place, amazing we will back for sure..

  • I spent a month at the cottage in March 2020 during the COVID-19 outbreak! The cottage is in one of the most beautiful locations with stunning views and complete peace and quiet. The cottage is cosy with a plentiful supply of firewood to keep warm. A fantastic place to get away from it all.

Brithdir Mawr is an Eco-Community formed in 1994, currently 13 adults and 5 children. We live on an 80 acre restored farm nestled at the foot of Carn Ingli in Pembrokeshire National Park. The Community is off grid for electricity and uses the water from the mountain spring. We have outdoor composting toilets and bathrooms with showers that guests share with the rest of the Community. We have a four private rooms available, plus a dormitory space. This posting is for our Sunrise Room.
If you are interested in community living or self-sufficiency this is the place for you. We have been a community for over twenty years you can learn more about us by joining one of our tours or even volunteering here. Have a look on our website for more details. We also run training courses and events which could help to make your trip a really memorable experience. The Sunrise room is a pretty, single, private room within our main Community farmhouse. Facilities are basic, comprising a woodburner, desk, chair, drawer, table and bookshelves; but the views over this part of our farm from the double aspect room are beautiful. We absolutely love it here and hope you will too. We look forward to sharing it with you!
We live in a beautiful area of Pembrokeshire National Park, next to Carn Ingli and the Preseli Mountains. Ty Cannol, an ancient oak woodland, and the stunning coastline are both within walking distance, as is the charming village of Newport, boasting a fine array of pubs, cafes and restaurants. The Pembrokeshire Coastal path was recently voted one of the top ten long distance walks in the world. There is minimal light pollution here, so the night skies can be breath taking, and there is always loads of wildlife to see and hear, including dormice, bats and owls.
  • The Brithdir Mawr's Community is a place of peace and serenity. You won't be surrounding in the materialistic luxuries of today, but it will take you back to our earthly roots. It was so refreshing for the soul. The host Ann seems lovely, even though I didn't personally meet her. I would totally recommend staying here if you don't mind getting in touch with your roots, and embracing the simple life style.

  • Loved this room. Simple with beautiful light. Stayed two nights while exploring Preseli bluestones. Great velux skylight above the bed to watch and listen to the rain. Lovely wooden windows, floor and beams. Just felt natural and comfortable. Easy to come and go as you please and delightfully quiet at night. Friendly people, big old house, and lots of nature. I'll be back! ~

Beautiful views and plenty of countryside to explore during the day and cosy wood burner and star-gazing in the evenings. The location is very remote so the use of a car is strongly advised. In Boncath, a 5 minute car drive there is a local shop selling baked bread, free-range eggs, cakes, butcher shop Welsh bacon and a nice wine selection. Local(ish) pub is called the Nags head, it's in Abercych and is very atmospheric. Enjoy good food here too. We like to cycle there in the summer months! Cardigan The nearest town is full of trendy cafes and quirky shops. Bara Meyn is famous for it's sourdough bread (it sells out quickly!) and is perfect for breakfast and lunch (open Tuesday - Saturday 9-4). Every Saturday morning (8.30-12.30) there is a farmers market at the guildhall. Lots of delicious local produce. Fforest Pizza tipi is perfect spot in the evening for drink and some of the best wood fired pizza in the World (apparently!) - some nights host live music. This wonderful place is seasonal however so shuts most of winter. Small World Theatre offers weekly yoga sessions and other classes - it is a beautiful space worth admiring. Theatr Mwldan is the local cinema, check the websites for live events and comedy shows. Beaches: Poppit Sands: 11 miles, closest beach has a superb beach cafe with an amazing ice cream selection Mwnt: 13 miles, our favourite one, lovely costal walks Penbryn: 14 miles away, lovely cafe selling cakes, coffees and lunches there, The Plwmp Tart Towns Cardigan, a must visit, our local. 20 minutes away. Wildlife centre, located in Cilgeran. Nice cafe in a large glasshouse and plenty of walks. We enjoy walking into Cardigan from here. St Dogmaels, popular local produce market every Tuesday morning at the abbey. The Ferry inn has a splendid beer garden by the estuary and does nice food. Newport, about 25 minutes. An attractive, bustling costal town with plenty of food and drink options. Quirky market town of Narbeth is a foodies delight about 30 minutes away with many independent boutiques and wonderful cafes. St Davids, an hour drive but worth it as a day trip for costal walks, the Cathedral, blue lagoon and the bug farm/restaurant. Bosherston lily ponds is beautiful all year round. Bit of a drive but worth it!
  • This place already looks great online but is actually even better in real life. Can't put my finger on exactly why...the cozy living room, floorboards in the bedroom, lovely big bath, big rainfall shower head, beautiful garden. Just absolutely the most lovely cottage and perfect getaway :)

    Tay2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Warm cosy cottage that is bigger than it seems in the photos. Log burner, hot tub and a comfy bed make for a very relaxing stay. The place has everything you need, including friendly cats! A definite recommendation.

  • Can’t recommend Natasha and John’s romantic getaway enough! The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything we could need for the stay. The hot tub was the perfect touch with jets and lights to set the mood! And the log fire was very welcome on the cold windy evenings. The recommendations were much appreciated for places to eat and beaches to visit. We particularly loved the nags head for some of the best food we’ve ever had for dinner and Traeth Mwnt beach for a coastal walk with amazing views. The milk, eggs and waffles left for us on arrival was a lovely gesture. We would definitely visit again!

    Natasha2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage in the picturesque Welsh countryside. Natasha and John were very helpful before and during our stay. The only downside was that we had to leave!

    Jessica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hen Stabl was stunning. The photos are gorgeous but it’s even better in person. It’s spotlessly clean and wonderfully cosy. The hot-tub was divine. It’s also very private - Natasha and John made themselves easily available but we were totally left to ourselves. Can’t recommend enough. We will be back!

    Carys2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A very relaxing, chilled and quaint abode, that is so peaceful, all you can here is the birds with the occasional meow from the chilled out cats! We found it easy to get to, via the Sat Nav, though that does dip out on occasions, but comes back quickly! Cardigan, for supplies, wasn't far with an aldi's or Tesco's and various Cafe's and shops. "Hen Stabl" is definitely worth staying in. Thank you Natasha and John. All the best.

    carole2020-02-26T00:00:00Z

Y Caban Pren is located within a six acre property about three miles from Cardigan. It is set in a stunning landscape with far-reaching views. The accommodation is self-contained, and is constructed to a very high standard, with thick insulation, electric heating and double glazing to all rooms. Much of the hot water is solar heated. It is comfortably fitted out with neutral colours, and the kitchen area is well equipped, with fridge. Outside, there is a decking area with table and chairs.
Y Caban Pren is situated within the grounds of a beautiful and peaceful six acre property called Waun Lle. There are panoramic views across to the Preseli Hills and around to Cardigan Bay. It is an ideal location for a quiet and relaxing break, away from it all but with easy driving access to Cardigan and the coast.
The property is about three miles from Cardigan, and is situated just off a lane which adjoins the A487, giving easy access north towards Aberystwyth and south to Cardigan and onwards into Pembrokeshire. Cardigan is a vibrant small town with two supermarkets and a good range of independent shops and eating places. Access is easy to many beautiful beaches, with Mwnt being the nearest.

Our Moor Shed is available as an overflow place to stay when all the cottages are already booked from Easter to end of September... Please note it is not a house... It has a lovely feel and being so close to the wild place of the moor is a wonderful retreat space. It is our cheapest option for one person to come and stay but also ideal for a couple or a maximum of 3 people to stay... Just a few steps from the moorshed is the gate to the moor...you can gather wood and have a fire....and there are benches and other seating for watching the sunset! (Please note the firepit is shared with the other (URL HIDDEN) you may or may not have company!) It has a futon and a couple of foam seat beds - so can sleep 1-2 people or a maximum of 3. It is only suitable for adults or teenagers...not for little ones...but there are other cottages suitable for little ones and the Moorshed is cheaper to stay in than the cottages...for various reasons: The Moor shed has a small and very simple kitchen close by more details below...and also use of the shower and loo in the back of the pottery which is a shared facility. Also our moor shed is used for some storage...We normally use it for singing, meditation etc It has quite a few lanterns and a really welcoming... not a huge space but if people are looking for a cheaper alternative to a cottage and don't mind squashing in this is a possibility! It is also used to store spare duvets...hidden away under the steps so you never need to be cold! The sleeping is on a futon which is fairly firm...which some people like but if you prefer sleeping softer...again you can use an extra duvets under the bedding...There are some electric heaters in the building too... It is a delightful space right next to the moor!
I love the magic of the hills...the wildness of the country...the everchanging colours of the landscape...the stones...skylarks...the beautiful sunsets...the peace and tranquility... I also love making pottery and teaching others how to throw pots on the wheel or make them by hand...
  • We booked the Moorshed for a short break at the end of October. Driving rain and gales didn't stop it from being a snug little stay - its well kitted out with heater and blankets. The area felt remote and peaceful and a great base for exploring the nearby moorland and coast.

  • Beautiful place to stay and recharge your batteries in contact with La Lande Welsh. Anna is a very nice and attentive person.

  • Beautiful spot right on the moor! Perfect for exploring Pembrokeshire. A lovely get away for those who want to switch off and disconnect. The whole place had a lovely cosy atmosphere. Loo and kitchen are separate but very close by (if you don't mind sharing with the odd spider). Thank you Anna for a lovely stay we would love to come and stay again maybe at another one of your properties.

  • I had a very relaxing time at the Moor shed, I loved being so close to the moor, and in such a quiet place, it's a perfect place to explore Pembrokeshire from, Thank you Anna

  • Lovely little hideaway in a beautiful and tranquil place. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

    Kian2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time staying at the Moorshed. The interior is thoughtfully laid out and has a warm and homely feel. The access to the open moor right outside gives an immediate connection to nature, and within the garden areas there is a tranquil feel. I did an hour’s pottery tuition with Anna as an additional activity and really enjoyed that too. With Anna’s patient but relaxed tuition, I was surprised to make three pretty respectable pots! All highly recommended.

Romantic farm cottage near the coast, with stunning mountain views. Enjoy peace and quiet in an unspoilt landscape, yet just a short walk from the historic village of Nevern, with its ancient church and traditional pub. Nearby Newport has cafes, restaurants and galleries and is only a 5 minute drive away, as is the famous Pembrokeshire coast path. Sandy beaches, secluded coves, woodland and mountain walks are all within easy reach. A perfect retreat for a couple wanting to get away from it all.
The Cart House is stylishly furnished and thoughtfully equipped, so you can make the most of your stay in beautiful North Pembrokeshire. It's an interesting 'upside down' cottage, with the open plan living area on the first floor and the bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Both floors have doors leading to the private patio where you will find both a barbecue, table and chairs, and an array of potted plants - perfect for al fresco eating or just star gazing. The cottage has a wood burning stove for cosy evenings in by the fire and electric heating throughout. The comfortable double bed has feather duvets and pillows and crisp cotton sheets (non feather substitutes are available for allergy sufferers). The cottage is on a farm, in a very quiet and peaceful part of Pembrokeshire. Alice is also an artist and has a small studio and gallery in the farmhouse.
We are in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, world renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. Just a short walk away is the historic village of Nevern, with its family run pub, the Trewern Arms, charming St. Brynach's church, 10th century Celtic cross and 5th century Ogham Stone. A short walk from the church brings you to the ancient Pilgrims Path, used for hundreds of years by pilgrims making their way to St. Davids. You can literally follow the Pilgrims footsteps, worn away over the centuries into the slate. The path follows the banks of the beautiful Nevern river until it reaches the sea at stunning Newport Bay. There are some fabulous walks along the coastal path, as well as beaches and coves, too numerous to mention. We are a 5 minute drive to the sea and during the summer a local bus company runs a shuttle service along the coast for walkers. The Preseli Hills are also a magical place, with numerous neolithic sites dotted throughout the area and numerous footpaths and bridle ways to explore. Nearby Newport is a pretty seaside town offering a fantastic array of eateries. We also have art galleries, an antique shop, a local butcher, wholefood shop, hardware store, Post Office, Chemist and small supermarket. There's an interesting street market held every Monday and the community run Memorial Hall has a vibrant and varied mixture of cultural events and activities running throughout the year. The Cart House is a 10 minute drive from the old county town of Cardigan, which has 2 supermarkets (Tesco and Aldi) and a variety of shops along its pretty High Street. It's also worth a visit to Theatre Mwldan, which hosts a great selection of films, theatre, comedy and music events. For adventurous types there are a wealth of activities on offer, from sea kayaking and coasteering, to paragliding and surfing. Visitors to the area are often struck by something else that is rarely mentioned in the tourist brochures, and that is the warmth of the local people. We live in a very welcoming community and we all hope you'll enjoy you're stay here.
  • We had a lovely week, it’s a great base to explore the fantastic Pembrokeshire coast and hills. The accommodation is lovely, clean and cosy and is fully equipped for self catering. Amazing walks start literally once you step outside. Wished we could have stayed longer, Oscar our dog had a great time too.

  • We had the best week relaxing in this beautiful little cottage. I’m not sure where to start! The check in process and communication with Alice was great, she met us when we arrived, showed us around and was on hand should be need anything. The cottage backs on to 3 or 4 fields which we were lucky enough to let our dog run in everyday which he loved (no sheep whilst we were there!). The cottage is small but perfectly set up with a log burner and really comfortable cosy bed. The location is a short drive from Newport where there are great pubs and a lovely beach to explore. We spent the week enjoying the coast paths, beaches and beautiful sunshine we were lucky enough to have. Can’t recommend enough! Very dog friendly!

Tresaith is a fantastic beach and their is a fab path down from the house. It is also really easy to explore further afield into Cardigan and over to Poppit Sands. • Barbara and Steve were great, delightful and very gracious and accommodating hosts. They are situated in a beautiful rural coastal area which was easy to find with their directions and our granddaughters knowledge of her iPhone travel instructions. They greeted us and showed us to our upstairs private quarters, after which we sat down to a cup of tea and an intro type visit. Steve and Barbara gave us information on dining choices and we were happy with our choice for dinner at the pub on the corner of their road, and yes, very close indeed. Steve also told us about nearby points of interest. In the morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast and we absolutely fell in love with Barbara’s homemade jelly. They were also sensitive to my husbands dietary needs. They also remembered that our grand daughter was celebrating her birthday on the day of our departure so she was gifted a birthday greeting card. We enjoyed our stay with Barbara, Steve and sweet Ted to pet. We thank them all.

    Michelle2018-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming and a lovely room with en suite bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. We enjoyed their company very much - and Barbara very kindly made us supper too (having turned up on a Sunday with pubs not serving food) - and it was a fabulous supper too; much better than the pub would have been! Lovely walk from the B&B back to the coast too. Many thanks

  • Stayed one night at Barbara's. Had a lovely time as was made to feel really at home. Breakfast was lovely and home made jam was a treat. Thank.s Hope to visit again soon.

  • The place is in a separate annex of the house with a porch area where you can eat breakfast. The main bedroom is off to one side with en suite bathroom and there is a small kitchenette area with a toaster, fridge, kettle and microwave. The house is situated in beautiful countryside and is a great place to stay as it is a short drive to lots of places in Pembrokeshire and south Ceredigion. The hosts were lovely, we booked very last minute (we were going to go camping but the weather decided against that!) and they were friendly, helpful and accommodating. It really is a lovely place and we would be happy to stay again! Thank you!

  • We took two rooms in Seth’s house as opposed to the holiday cottages so this review doesn’t relate to those. If it’s glitz and glamour you are after then this may not be for you. However, if you want to lower your blood pressure then this is a must - it should be prescribed on the NHS! If you want total peace and tranquility, complete silence at night, no light or noise pollution and access to walks through woodland and along the Teifi estuary then don’t miss the opportunity to stay here. This is the only Air BnB I’ve stayed in where you are encouraged to help yourselves to breakfast cereal and tea and coffee is left out for you to help yourselves. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we are over that way.

    Hilary2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Seth was an awesome Host! He went above and beyond to make sure that I had everything I needed for an enjoyable stay! I would most certainly recommend Seth’s place to anyone staying in that area! I loved the location of his home in the country setting!

Characterful cottage in the heart of the gorgeous village of St Dogmaels in North Pembrokeshire. At the start of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. A minute from the Teifi estuary, the Abbey, and award winning local market. Close to magnificent beaches, ancient woodlands, and the wildness of the Preseli hills. My home and garden is a little haven, a relaxing base for adventures in nature. Indoor space to safely store bikes, surf boards etc.
Old fisherman’s cottage nicely converted. Light and comfortable.
The nearest beach is huge and wild. I swim in the sea as often as possible. There’s a great organic market garden/ food hub 5 minutes walk away. Cardigan has most everyday items available, parking is easy. Good cafes and bakers, Wholefood shop, 2 excellent venues. Easy low-stress pace of life.
  • Elle's place is cosy, wholesome, and on Equinox weekend, was full of spring sunlight. Elle is a grounded host with a lovely peaceful vibe. I always stay at Elle's when I'm in the area.

    Briony2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Elle's place is in the ideal location in the village. It's not a cul-de-sac, but the area feels like one as it's ever so quiet there. Vehicles do pass through on the road, but you can hardly hear them. A really nice welcome awaited me at the front door and I was made to feel right at home by Elle. I was free to come and go as I pleased and with me out of the house a lot during my stay, it was convenient for me to roam in both directions of the village. Be it at the far end of St. Dogmaels or over the river at Cardigan, nowhere was far away within walking distance. I really enjoyed my stay at St. Dogmaels and Elle's place is the ideal home-from-home a visitor like myself requires when travelling the country far and wide. Highly recommended.

Rocket House enjoys some of the most spectacular sea views in Pembrokeshire. If that wasn't enough, it is also on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, just a stones throw from one of the country's finest beaches! Rocket is a charming little slice of living history.. it really does have to be seen to be believed! And so, we do hope you choose to stay and discover our wonderful, hidden corner of beautiful Pembrokeshire. Cari, Duncan & Family @rockethouse_poppit
Rocket is ideal for a romantic getaway, a perfect opportunity to pack your bags and head West, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the 21st century. However, it is still possible to enjoy all the luxuries of modern day living! The bright and airy living room is home to mid-century & contemporary art work, comfy vintage furniture and a super eco-friendly wood pellet stove (the heart of "Rocket"). Of course, there are also captivating views.. The luxury kitchen is again bedecked with mid-century furniture, "found" objects and a bespoke kitchen with Smeg induction range and state of the art coffee machine. Sea views come as standard. The double height bedroom (the original, grade II listed building) has a luxury super-king size bed, organic cotton Toast linen, bluetooth DAB radio and a cosy window seat. The bathroom is brimming with 1930s style, with bath, overhead & handheld shower and organic soap & body wash. There is also plenty of hanging space in the large hallway, and places to put muddy boots (or dogs!)
Rocket is just a leisurely stroll (on a quiet country lane) from Poppit Sands, an utterly charming strip of golden sand, dunes and rockpools, with wonderfully clear waters and enough swell to challenge even the most seasoned surfer! Poppit's dunes are home to some very unusual wildlife (bee orchids & adders) and the lanes around Rocket are awash with wildflowers in the Spring/Summer. A short walk up the hill on the same lane (a no through road, so virtually no traffic) will lead you to Cemaes Head, a highly treasured piece of the wild, beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline. From the spectacular clifftops it is possible to see multitudes of seals, dolphins and other sea & bird life. One of the loveliest things about Rocket is that you don’t have to travel far to find the most perfect beaches, countryside, wildlife or walking; it’s all right on the doorstep!
  • Great location for coastal walks. Cottage is lovely and cosy with everything you need.

    Dan2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful place, the cottage was spotless with all the amenities that you could need. For anyone who loves cooking, the cooker is brilliant! The local area is quiet & peaceful, not a drop of litter in sight, with a gorgeous dog friendly beach a walk distance away. Would highly recommend to anyone even in these crazy times.

  • Rocket House is just perfect! We had an amazing 4 night stay at this beautiful house. It's the perfect space for two and feels spacious and cosy at the same time. The bed is amazing, so big and comfortable we slept soundly every night. Location is superb with amazing views over poppit sands and out to the ocean. We loved visiting off season as it was quiet and although not much was open locally Cardigan is just a short 10 min drive and had everything we needed. It really was the most relaxing and peaceful stay in a beautiful part of the country. Thanks so much Cari, we hope to visit again soon!

    Sarah2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rocket House is amazing! Cari and Duncan have done an amazing job and have created my dream holiday home. The location and views are fantastic and we are already planning our return. Exclusively available on AirBnB. I live here and can go weeks without seeing or hearing another soul if I choose! The main house is only a hundred yards away and the chalet can be reached exclusively from the driveway through its own gated walkway or down from the woods with its own private path. The gardens were once open to the public and have many seats and secret areas to discover as well as our own woods to tramp through. The chalet has a smart TV and wifi broadband with Netflix and Amazon TV included. There is no mobile phone reception in Moylegrove but phones can be used through the wifi. There is one master bedroom with king bed and one smaller room with two bunkbeds. Chalet is suitable for two adults and two children. The bunkbeds are adult singles. Breakfast items and cupboard stocks provided for self-catering. Our friendly ducks live outside the chalet. They are very curious and appreciate company!
Moylegrove sits on the remotest coastal part of the Pembrokeshire National Park. The cliffs here are the highest part of the Pembrokeshire coastal path. It's a 20min woodland walk direct from the chalet to the bay. Poppit sands beach is only 2 miles away and Newport sands and links golf course is only 5 miles away. Both beaches can be reached by walking the coastal path at the bay. The area is extremely popular for kayaking and coastal walks. The nearest shopping and eating locations are Newport, St. Dogmaels and Cardigan. Due to its remote location there are no shops or pubs in Moylegrove itself. We have local information in the chalet of places to eat that we recommend.
  • We had a really lovely stay; a beautiful chalet with everything we needed, and a great host. Meeting the ducks was a big highlight too!

  • Fantastic chalet in amazing gardens. Mark had thought of everything in the chalet... we were amazed at the well stocked kitchen! Spotlessly clean and comfortable - so peaceful and relaxing. Really dog friendly - our puppy loved every minute .... especially the river! A little piece of heaven in a beautiful location.

  • This chalet is tucked away in the gardens of a beautiful slice of Pembrokeshire. Marks instructions were clear and helpful. The village is quaint and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The chalet itself was incredibly cozy. It was warm, clean and comfortable. Mark left us a few grocery items which were much appreciated. We had absolutely everything we needed. Our 4 year old loved the ducks, as did we. The hike out to the bay was the perfect way to start our day. We would absolutely stay here again. Our only regret was staying for only one night.

    Chanda2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place which is peaceful, cosy and stocked with everything you could possibly need. There are no less than 3 private seating areas outside, set in remarkable grounds. We are proud to be the first guests to have found the 'hidden treasure' at the ruin on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Walk which runs directly from the cabin. Not for the faint-hearted but breathtaking and we were also lucky to see seals playing in the Witches' Cauldron. We really didn't want to leave and could happily have stayed the month. Thank you!

    Katja2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fabulous long weekend. Mark was an exceptional host with perfect instructions describing location and for running the cottage. It’s the first self catering that was a gas cooker and it’s the most trouble free cooking I’ve experienced in an unfamiliar kitchen. Lots of touches that we appreciated. The garden is charmingly landscaped the pictures don’t do it justice. The 20 minute almost totally private walk towards the cove was just what we needed. The property is easy to keep warm and no sign of damp at all. Mark responded to text in a timely manner to any queries we had. Highly recommended.

    Vincent2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend Marks place!!! Had a lovely couple days and would return in an instant!!

  • A quiet, quirky, and romantic hideaway hidden a magical garden. No need to go into detail—everything was perfect, including a walk through the woods to a beautiful bay and the magnificent Wales Coastal Path. Highly recommended for imaginative souls.

    Christine2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • the chalet is wonderful. the gardens amazing and the house cozy. Lots of kitchen staples (the best so far in Wales). the hike to the coast is beautiful and there are lots of other nearby attractions. it was tempting just to stay on the property and relax.

A beautifully converted stone barn set in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on a small, quiet farm with access to 3 acres of privately owned woodland and riverside walks. Yr Hen Parlwr, has been skilfully converted by the owners to form a cosy, quiet cottage in a picturesque location at the foot of the Preseli hills overlooking fields and the wooded, riverside valley of Craig Rhos-y-felin, a dramatic rocky outcrop and Neolithic quarry.
The cottage was originally the farm milking parlour with dairy adjoining. The building retains the character of the original design with exposed original stone walls and a slate roof with a vaulted ceilings in the upstairs bedroom. Yr Hen Parlwr sleeps 5 in 2 bedrooms: 1 double and 1 large bedroom with three single beds UPSTAIRS Bedroom 1: Three single beds and triple wardrobe. Vaulted ceiling with window. DOWNSTAIRS Open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with large french doors leading out onto the patio and into the garden. The dining area hosts an attractive dining table and chairs and a Welsh dresser. The lounge has TV with digital Freeview and DVD and is comfortably furnished. The kitchen is well equipped with hand made, fitted rustic wooden units and an electric range cooker with additional work surfaces. There is also a large fridge/ freezer, washing machine and a microwave cooker. Bathroom: bath and shower, toilet, hand basin, heated towel rail Bedroom 2: double bed, wardrobe and dressing table, bedside cabinets. Light, airy room with large window. OUTSIDE There is a secure garden behind the cottage with an attractive lawned area backing onto fields and a patio with garden table and seating. The garden is safe for dogs and children. A gate from the back of the garden takes you directly out onto the path around the fields and out into the woodland and moorland beyond. There is ample parking immediately in front of the cottage for two cars.
There is direct access from the cottage garden to Craig Rhos-y-felin and an extensive range of paths and walks along tranquil river banks or through the purple heather and yellow gorse of this beautiful moorland area. There is also an abundance of wildlife. Badgers and foxes are seen regularly on and around the farm and otters play down at the river. Dolphins and seals can be seen off the nearby coast, and there is a wide variety of birds including red kites, buzzards, kingfishers, woodpeckers and barn owls. On the farm, the owner’s sheep and horses will be grazing in their fields behind the cottage. This is a truly unique location with a fascinating history. Geologists have known since the 1920s that the bluestones were brought to Stonehenge from the Preseli hills but it is only recently that archaeologists have been been able to locate the actual quarries from which they came. Craig Rhos-y-felin, behind the cottage, is one of these.
  • Absolutely stunning cottage in the most beautiful surroundings! Amazing value for money and had a wonderful first visit to Wales!

  • Lovely tranquil peaceful area in the cosy caravan with great hospitality.

    Claire2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquility and seclusion - a slice of heaven! I was looking for a quiet place to call my own in a peaceful location to do some walking and refresh my soul. There is so much more than that at this lovely airbnb! Self-contained accommodation, with fantastic views all around - cows, valleys, farmland, woods; sunrise on one side, sunset on the other! Comfortable bed and all the amenities you need, (too many to list them all!), and some very thoughtful home touches and groceries helped me settle in easily. I took a drive almost every day to walk at various places around the coast, and on the first and last days I walked locally; this is a central location in west Wales, useful to reach North, South and West coasts of Pembrokeshire national park. Diana and Graham were so thoughtful and hospitable, nothing was too much for them. Queenie is a good distance from their house, so I felt independent, but knew they were available if I needed anything. There is phone reception and Wifi (not a huge amount, but enough to check weather, upload photos, plan trips and call home every day). Fresh eggs from their chickens, and as an added bonus Diana offers reflexology (so relaxing!) at a very reasonable price. I definitely recommend staying here and will be back!

    M2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had an excellent stay at Diana and Graham's place. They were both very welcoming and with the accommodation at the back of the field you also have all the privacy you could hope for. Perfect. You can even park your vehicle next to the accommodation which proved very handy. The photos certainly don't do the views justice. It is a wonderful setting if you want to just get away from it all and enjoy some piece and quiet and take in the scenery. (just a few lovely farm animal noises to enjoy) The accommodation was just as I'd hoped, complete with freeview TV, bbq, and lots of seating outside. An added bonus was that the mobile signal was also decent, 4g internet on EE worked well enough considering the excellent rural location. Freshly laid eggs and milk, butter, tea and a small loaf of bread were a great extra touch. To sum up I would definitely stay again which should say everything you need to know. Thank you Diana and Graham for your hospitality. All the best. Graham.

    Graham2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely caravan with everything you need to have a great stay, stove, shower, outdoor seating. Beautiful scenery and very quiet at night for a great sleep!

    Jo2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Queenie Bach. Diana and Graham were excellent hosts who did their best to make sure my stay was comfortable whilst being sensitive of my privacy. They even kindly supplied me with some goose eggs and chicken eggs freshly laid by there own animals. The caravan is situated in its own meadow area away from the house with spectacular views over the valley and into the distance, which was an unexpected bonus. It was perfectly clean and comfortable and had everything you could want for a short or long-term stay. You don't have to walk very far to find yourself on footpaths that lead through forests and fields that feel quite off the beaten track, so perfect if you like a bit of nature. It's also only a short drive from all sorts of lovely coastal areas.

This is a cosy studio consisting of a double bedroom, with a comfortable king-sized double bed and an en-suite bathroom. There’s also a microwave, kettle, toaster and small fridge. Tea and coffee are provided. The studio is attached to the main house, but with a separate entrance, and guests have access to a sheltered garden. The house is at the end of a stepped path, off one of the winding village roads, with a lovely view over the surrounding countryside.
The studio is next to the main house, with its own entrance, and is private and comfortable, with an en suite bathroom and a king-size double bed, and table and chairs. There’s tea, coffee, a kettle, a toaster, a small fridge and a microwave in the room. There’s a private, sheltered garden, with seating, for relaxing after a busy day. The studio is a TV-free zone, so please bring laptops/tablets for your entertainment. The studio is accessed by a stepped path, and is therefore not suitable for guests with mobility problems, or guests with small children, as it isn’t pushchair accessible.
The cottage was originally one of the many traditional fisherman's dwellings and is approached by walking up a stepped path between neighbouring cottages. It's in an elevated part of St Dogmaels, in a most idyllic setting, and benefits from the wonderful views, but is only a few minutes walk away from all the amenities of the village. St Dogmaels is a beautiful village, perfectly placed for access to the coast and the countryside. Most guests choose to eat at the ‘Ferry Inn’, which is just a ten minute walk down the hill, and has a restaurant section, with lovely views over the Teifi River. There's the Premier supermarket/grocery shop on the High Street, the award winning St Dogmaels Fish and Chip shop, and of course, St Dogmaels Abbey ruins, with the Coach House Cafe and visitor centre, which provides lovely snacks and lunches, with sunny courtyard seating. The village overlooks the Teifi River, and Poppit Sands is just a few minutes drive down the road. It's a beautiful sandy beach, and the Pembrokeshire Coastal path begins here. Just a few miles inland are the Preseli Hills, where the famous blue stones of Stonehenge were thought to have been quarried. There are a number of walks along the spine of the Preselis, with amazing views of the surrounging countryside and the sea. Next door to St Dogmaels is Cardigan town, a bustling traditional Welsh town with a central high street, with a number of artisan cafes and restaurants, and interesting independent shops, with three supermarkets on the outskirts.

  • We are just back from our break in this beautiful home from home. The house has been renovated to an exceptional standard, and was absolutely spotlessly clean. We loved the lovely quirky lighting in the fireplace and bread oven! Very atmospheric. Heather provided us with a welcome pack of basics including bread, milk, butter and some welsh cakes, which were delicious. There was even fresh flowers there too. All rooms are spacious and the bathroom was wonderful. We were able to bath all 4 under 4s in there at once! An exceptionally well thought out family space with all mod cons (including a tv in all 3 bedrooms). We loved the location too. Cardigan is just 10 minutes down the road, with a lovely castle - we recommend the restaurant 1176 too. Fab Sunday lunch. Heather the host also made some great recommendations for local beaches. We loved Mwnt. We look forward to returning in the near future.

  • My wife and I stayed for two nights at Ysguborbach with our dog, Rolo. Andy was very helpful with directions before we arrived and gave us a warm welcome on arrival. We were provided with Bara brith, milk, coffee, tea, sugar, and dog treats. The room has been decorated to a high standard and it was very comfortable. The courtyard is fenced which was perfect for Rolo as we could let him out without the worry of him roaming too far. The location is good with Poppit Sands Beach and Newport Beach both a short drive away. There are also a few pubs less than a ten minute drive away, we went to the Golden Lion which served very nice food. We would definitely recommend Ysguborbach and will hopefully stay there again in the near future :-)

  • Really good, warm accommodation. Very thoughtful, stayed for misses birthday / valentine's Day. Love the touch of Bara-birth. Would happily stay again.

  • Had a fantastic stay at Ysgubor Bach! Andy greeted us and our furry friend on arrival, showed us to our accomodation and where everything was located. Ysgubor Bach has everything you could possibly need, comfy bed, kitchen, internet access and TV with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime. Andy also provided some really thoughtful touches, a loaf of bara brith, tea & coffee, a jug of milk and even some treats for our dog. Would thoroughly recommend staying at Ysgubor Bach, Andy was a super host!

Bed and breakfast at our farmhouse is over 200 years old. We are in a quiet spot yet nestled between Aberporth on the coast and Cardigan with all the amenities. A great location for walking the coastal path or visiting some of the best beaches in West Wales.
The house is on a quiet 8 acre small holding near the beautiful coastline of West Wales. 3 miles to Cardigan and about a 40 minute drive to the Ferry to Ireland at Fishguard. Cardigan has a Aldi, a Tesco, and Co-op supermarket A few miles to 6 beautiful sand beaches, two that are National Trust. Our local beach is Mwnt, listed as No. 1 in the Daily Mail's list in the Top Ten: Europe's Secret Beaches. You can easily walk to the Ceredigion Coastal Path. There is a small bedroom with 2 single beds, another small one with a double bed, and a larger one with a King Size bed. Two bathrooms (one for exclusive use by guests) and a shower in an outbuilding if you hate baths and want an invigorating experience. We have our own eggs if you like a big breakfast. If we are able, we will cook you breakfast or we will supply the breakfast goodies and you can prepare your own breakfast at a time that suits you. It is a 15 minute walk to the local bus stops if you are using public transport. In the summer and selected days in the winter there is the Cardi Bach, a small bus that serves the Coastal Path so you only need to walk one way. The Cardi Bach bus stop in Felinwynt is close to our drive. Closest train stations are Carmarthen or Aberystwyth. If you come by bus, happy to pick you up in Cardigan. Plenty of good places to eat nearby and if you are on a tight budget you can cook in the kitchen. If the dates you want are booked, contact us we may have another bedroom available. One of the most popular trips in Cardigan is a boat trip called Bay to Remember-On most trips you will see dolphins, seals and plenty of bird life.
We live in a rural location although there is a convenience shop 2 miles away. You can walk to the coastal path from our house though it is easier to drive to the access path by the national Trust Waterwheel.
  • The stat with Alex and Renie was amazing, they were very friendly and easy going, room was very clean, and they made you feel at home. The breakfast They provided was huge with lots of choice. Thank you for everything

  • A fabulous place to stay with Alex and Renie being such welcoming and kind hosts. Alex made the most beautiful American waffles for breakfast. The Farmhouse is beautiful, clean and felt so warm and inviting. I would definitely recommend this as an amazing place to stay especially if you enjoy peaceful surroundings and it’s so close to the beach and Ceredigion town centre too.

  • Idylic old hidden away farmhouse setting in a beautiful part of Wales. Quiet and relaxed with that air of traquility. Far enough from everything but not too far away to be inconvenient. Beach, shops and restaurants all 10mins away. An amaxing place to stay.

    Stephen2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Alex and Renie are wonderful hosts, they made me feel completely at home. The farmhouse is just as described, nestled in the countryside but driving distance to a good sized town. It was clean and comfortable and the breakfast provided was excellent. I would definitely recommend this amazing value stay. And don't miss out on dinner at El Salsa!

  • Close proximity to Cardigan, shops, beaches, coastal path and not far to drive to other parts of Wales. Alex and Renie are very friendly and helpful hosts and welcome you into their home and have plenty of helpful advice of places to visit in the area. Fresh eggs for breakfast; comfortable beds; lovely areas around the house to relax; parking close by; great views. We really enjoyed our 5 days here and loved coming back at the end of our day’s exploring. Would recommend Alex & Renie’s Airbnb to anyone who wanted a home away from home.

    Lyn2019-04-23T00:00:00Z

Our homely wooden cabin is a new addition to our 4 acer smallholding, tucked down a quiet lane just a couple of minutes drive from Cardigan. Golygfa, meaning ‘nice view’ is a name of our home that is on top of a little hill overlooking the Teifi gorge. Stunning views towards the Preseli hills, just a stones throw from Poppit Sands and Mwnt beach.
Our cabin is a very compact space. All in one - kitchen with hot water, two ring portable gas cooker, little fridge, 2 beds 120cm wide - so either get cosy on one or have a king size single each (the 2nd bed is in mezzanine). Dinning table on veranda, flushable toilet, simple shower, veggie patch few steps away providing you with a home grown produce. Clutch of chickens will lay you a morning egg. Wifi does not reach to the cabin but you can get signal oh the veranda and in the garden. We hope that the outdoor space - lovely garden with orchard where squirrel is our daily guest, big field with deer seeking for a fresh grass, and a beautiful scenery where evenings can be spent watching the sun set over Cardigan and the hills beyond will make up for the small indoor space. We feel that our village of Llangoedmor is ideally located for quick and easy access to our local market town of Cardigan and all the beaches of South Ceredigion and North Pembrokeshire, including Aberporth, Mwnt and Poppit Sands. Day trips to New Quay, St. Davids and Tenby are all within an hours drive. The area locally is ideal for outdoor sports and activities such as coasteering, river and sea kayaking, climbing, nature trails and the Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire coastal paths.
Rural, quite and relaxing. Cardigan is one of the top 10 places to bring up a family in the UK! Cilgerran Wildlife Park is awesome, Mwnt beach is stunning, Cardigan town is alive and colourful, best bog standard grub is the Nags Head in Abercych, 10 minutes drive. Best pubs and general good food in Newport, 20 minutes drive. Pizza Tipi is very cool, Cardigan, next to the river.
  • Fabulously cosy cabin in an equally fabulous location will definitely return.. Mark and Katerina were great hosts and everything was as stated in their ad.. Book it you won't be dissapointed.. Andrea and Oliver

  • What a wonderful little cabin, well thought out and so cosy. Situated in a perfect location to explore the costal path. Katerina recommended a great pub - the ferry inn in st Donegal. Thanks for a great stay. Tom & Jess

  • Very lovely little cabin in a beautiful area, with lovely grounds and fantastic hosts. We had a very nice stay.

    Aaron2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a lovely stay here. Mark and Katerina made us feel so welcome, and their little cabin was warm and cosy, with everything we needed. They really went out of their way to make us feel at home. As for the area, it was really beautiful, with a nature reserve just 10 minutes walk down the lane, which meant we could explore locally on a day when we didn't feel like getting on a bus. We don't have a car, so got to the cabin by train, then a bus which went from Carmarthen to the cabin. This bus also carries on past here into Cardigan town centre, where there's loads to see and do, or you can change to other buses to explore the amazing stretch of coastline nearby. We walked a stretch of this coastline, between Ceibwr Bay and St Dogmaels, which we would highly recommend!

Wooden lodge, overlooking lake. 1 double & 1 twin room, sitting & dining area, kitchen, shower room. TV, DVD, Wifi, dishwasher. Towels & bed linen supplied. Secluded location, based on a working farm with sheep, alpacas & many breeds of waterfowl. Rural location.
Beautiful & very well equipped Lake lodge in its own grounds on the edge of a working farm, overlooking a large pond & lake with an abundance of ducks and geese. Located on a working farm which boasts rare breed sheep, alpacas and pygmy goats. Car essential due to the rural location.
The area is very rural. We are on the edge of the Preseli Hills in North Pembrokeshire. Beautiful beaches are just a 20/30 minute drive away as is the very pretty River Teifi with its amazing fishing. Nearest shops are located in Crymych (3 miles) and include a large convenience store, butcher, organic shop, chemist, cafe, fish & chip shop, pub & pizza takeaway. Cardigan is the nearest town (10 miles) with a good selection of shops, eateries and a Tesco & Aldi.
