COVID19 ALERT: WE ARE CLOSED DUE TO THE STAY AT HOME ORDER UNTIL ??. CLICK ON MY ICON TO SEE ALL MY LISTINGS. This train is located on the historic Golden Chain Highway, now called Highway 49 named after the 49ers who came seeking their fortune. Just a short drive to Yosemite National Park and nestled in the foothills of a California gold rush town, the Caboose is a part of the Vacation Station, a decommissioned train that has been lovingly converted into a vacation rental.
The Caboose is a studio style space with a queen size bed, a kitchen, the original cupola (a raised seating area), a full bathroom with a back door and a Roku Smart TV. We have provided everything you will need to live, cook and play while you stay.
Coulterville is a small gold rush town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, home to Yosemite National Park. Yosemite Valley is approximately 55 miles away, with the entrance gate on Hwy 120 being about 30 miles away. The town has a cafe with a general store, various shops, a post office and a park with a public swimming pool (open during summer only from 1-5pm, with a fee of $2 per person), a large grass area, tables and a playground.
  • A unique and comfy place, one and a half hour away from Yosemite Big Oak Flat entrance, many suggestions for eating and drinking places like the oldest saloon in California. There is even an oven and many cooking facilities. A bit like a tiny house. Will definitively visit again if we are in the area.

  • Very unique experience sleeping in a caboose! Would recommend to anyone looking to try something new! It was a small space but had all the things you’d need to feel at home! It was cozy and the bed was super comfortable :)

    Juliana2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great, very unique and comfortable, a great way to stay a few days just outside Yosemite! The caboose is uniquely decorated and the small details make it very homey and cozy. Great experience overall.

    Thibaut2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The vacation station is a real gem! It's well-maintained, clean and decorated adorably. It was a big bonus to have a kitchen with all the pots and pans we needed and even some snacks provided. We enjoyed being off the beaten path but near major highways. It was easy to come and go and the perfect spot to stay for a trip to Yosemite!

    Jenna2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say? This place was such a great experience to have spent our nights in. We loved every detail this small train caboose had to offer. Very cozy with such a great amount of space . Everything was cleaned and well organized, this vacation station is a place I definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for a quick getaway.

    Ariel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The reaction my husband had when he realized he was going to be staying in the caboose was priceless. This is a place to stay where you will make memories. Family memories. Childhood memories. Travel memories. The caboose was exactly as pictured. It is surreal that you are actually eating and sleeping in a real train. Nealy and the owner have thought of everything. We cooked two meals and were able to store all our travel provisions. I was concerned that the train wound not be warm enough in the dead of winter but the split system heating system is quiet and effective, but for a quick chill in the bathroom in the morning. We were quite cozy in the comfortable queen bed, and celebrated our success of finding such a unique experience in the elevated cupola space. We have already recommended to members of our family that they bring their grandchildren for a trip to the Vacation Station to experience the glory days of life on the rails. P.s. Be sure to tour the museum next door, especially the outside, to experience Coulterville in the early days. Wish I could have scheduled our trip for their Heritage Rose festival in May, their 4th of July parade, or their Coyote Festival in late Sept. It really is a quaint mining town with a memorable drive on Hwy 49.

    Lori2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very fun place to stay, close enough to Yosemite, and great food at the nearby cafe. Would stay here again!

    Eric2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Staying the night inside a freight car was such an unique experience and the place itself was so beautiful and the premise quiet and private. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Yosemite and are looking for a more intimate and memorable stay.

Where is the cottage? 4 miles off Highway 132— the John Muir Historic Route—in the Mother Lode Gold country above the historic gold rush town of Coulterville on Highway 49. 26 miles from the north entrance to Yosemite on Highway 120. The cottage: 1 bedroom, sleeping area with 2 beds, and 2 hideaway couches, 1 bath. Kitchen with small refrigerator, gas range, desktop electric oven, microwave oven, cookware, dishes, etc Large deck The cottage sits on a 10 acre parcel of Sugar Pine, Ponderosa, and Black Walnut trees at the elevation of 3500 feet on a 4 acre pond. Fishing, swimming and canoeing on the pond will add to your vacation experience here while you are enjoying your time in Yosemite. Many country roads and trails which loop up to a ridge and around provide exercise and bike riding challenges close by.
  • Wow! This place was so much fun! With a beautiful pond surrounded by wildlife, and plenty of land to walk around on... this place will not disappoint. Great place to be out in the woods, fish and go canoeing or paddle boarding. My family full of boys had such a blast staying here. Plenty of privacy and perfect for a weekend get away. A perk to be close to Yosemite too. Plenty of cooking materials in the kitchen. There is no tv- but you can easily bring a lap top and dvds or a small screen tv. Limited WiFi but that was perfect for my family not to be on their devices the whole time. We loved the puzzles and games provided too. All around a great deal and a great stay!

    Jennifer2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a clean, private, and cozy place in the woods, this is it.

    Bob2020-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was really clean and Marilyne is a nice host. The kitchen has all what you need to cook. It is a really quiet place. The wifi is slow.

    Simon2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the rustic charm of this little cabin and the surrounding beauty of nature. As soon as we pulled up, we got a warm greeting from Marilyn's dog, Flicka, who became a dear companion whenever we went for a walk. The scenery is spectacular and it was a great stopping place to visit Yosemite. Beware that the WiFi connection is a bit iffy and there is no TV, but it was nice to be off the grid a bit. The bed was comfortable, though a bit on the firm side and the kitchen was easy to cook in. The refrigerator is small, so don't bring a lot of perishables. We didn't take the time to burn any wood in the stove, but the heater works well to warm the whole place. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and hope to come up again in the future.

    Marti2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We went here for our honeymoon & loved every moment of it! We felt so peaceful and detached from the hustle and bustle of life. We really fell in love with exploring this little Wild West town & making fires. Also fell in love with the dog Flika on the property, such a sweetie. 10/10 would stay here again.

    Anna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house amongst the quiet woods. There is a pond next to the house and a cute dog that keeps visiting you. 10/10 would recommend staying here.

    Ruturaj2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A week away from everyday hustle Marilyn's cottage was exactly what I needed: a comfortable, warm escape nestled in the foothills of the Sierras. Firewood for the stove is plentiful and the water pressure is amazing. The location is reasonable drive from local adventure/cultural attractions (I took a day trip into Yosemite) and isolated enough for those seeking solitude.

    Erich2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn's place is fantastic. There are instructions for everything in the house which made it all very easy; including the wood fire stove. Her border collie made us feel so welcome, and we'd gladly stay here again.

Yosemite WestLake Campground has 24 full-hookup RV sites as well as Cabins and Tent spaces conveniently located just 24 miles from Yosemite National Park. This is a tent site only, tent not included. Must bring all camping equipment.
if you arrive very late --your cabin porch light will be on, door unlocked and key in the fridge. When you drive into the campground you will drive under a log sign that says, "Yosemite Westlake" on it. Keep going and follow the paved road around to the right. There will be four short silver posts in front of you. You can drive on the dirt/gravel road to the right of them downhill to your cabin. Cabins #1 and #2 are on the left and Cabin #3 is on the right. You can park just in front of the little foot bridge that goes over to your cabin. If you drive to the restroom/hot shower building in the campground -- you've gone too far. Cabins are behind the restroom/hot shower building.
Greeley Hill is located at 3,300ft in the mountains near Yosemite National Park surrounded by pine trees, lakes, rivers, and wild life. Greeley Hill is a unique rural town with meadows and pine/cedar/oak forest. There are many trails in the forest that are adjacent to private land. Our community is very friendly and helpful, willing to share about the area. We are located on HWY 132 on historic John Muir Trail, the road he took to Yosemite. Just 7 miles down the road, Coulterville is home to the John Muir Geotourism Center, Northern Mariposa County Historical Center, and the famous Claim Jumpers Re-enactors' shootout on Saturday's throughout the summer.
  • 4th time at your place and you can bet I'll be back again! Thanks for having us!

  • Great camping ground!! Mac gives super good tips about all the good places to go in the area. Friendly and fast responses. 11/10 would come again

    Fabian2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Campsite is located about 30 mins from the Yosemite park entrance, but is in a great location of its own, with really clean and accessible toilets and showers and a place to wash off dishes etc. There is also a gas station and general store just 2 minutes drive away. Would highly recommend.

    Martin2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The campsite was clean. Easy to find and close to Yosemite. I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Great place! We’ll be back. John was a wonderful camp host. We recommend you enjoy the campfire around the old Sphere.

    Maryeth2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This campsite is cozy, clean, and in a great location. Mac was a very accommodating host!

    Carly2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot to camp during the busy seasons in the Sierras! Plenty of room for our group to spread out, and it was nice to have showers/toilets/sinks while camping. Mac was quite hospitable, as well - he set up a large communal bonfire with s'mores for everyone to enjoy! Would certainly book again.

    Tom2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay close to Yosemite. We arrived late and Mac was waiting to show us the sites. He also gave us some great tips for our trip out to the park the next day!

  • Really nice place. Location was easy to find. Was super quiet. Sitting by the lake was so beautiful, gestation hosts too.

    Tami2020-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is connected to the house but has it's own entrance and back sliding door. You walk towards the back and there's this beautiful lake and amazing view. Also as the sun starts to set the frogs start to croak or ribbit (not sure what their sounds are called) and it's just peaceful and relaxing. There's a small park just a short walking distance. Overall we really enjoyed staying at this property.

    Noemi2020-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay on the lake! It was really nice sitting and watching the ducks in the evening. The studio is very small but practical.

Our rental is 42 miles from the Yosemite's Big Oak Flat Entrance. We are kid & pet friendly hosts. The studio features a fenced yard with a gas BBQ, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee brewer, toaster, electric skillet, plates, bowls & utensils. We have a 2 night minimum stay.
Our rental is decorated with antique toys and western art. There is a piano and guitar for your enjoyment.
We live in a rural neighborhood. Our neighbors are friendly and enjoy the country life. Our streets are quiet and excellent for walking or jogging. The area has a rich 100+ year history of cattle ranching. The lake is at the end of our street, however it cannot be accessed easily from there. Boat access is 7 miles from our home.
  • You will be overwhelmed by their kindness and generosity! The personal touches during your stay are endless and they are always available in case you need anything. The cabin, location, and advice they will provide will make you feel like you have arrived at "your perfect place." The cabin is peaceful, warm, and cozy, perfect after a long day of exploring, fishing or getting away for a relaxing stay. This host really cares for their visitors and goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed, including your four-legged friends. My only wish is that I didn't have to leave so soon. We will never forget our stay, and plan to return in the very near future!

  • You will not meet 2 nicer or more hospitable hosts than Dru and Ron. This was the icing on the cake for our stay as their place is just fantastic! We loved our stay and so did our dog. We can't recommend this place or these hosts enough.

    Sean2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The company, the sleep, the location- all fantastic. Highly recommend. The hosts are kind and good company, the location is great for jumping off into Yosemite and the bed is hard to want to leave!

    Steven2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Dru's place was perfect. Just a little drive from some historic gold rush towns. The drive to Yosemite was about an hour. The place was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Dru & Ron's hospitality was much appreciated as well.

    Dakota2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place - clean, convenient location with thoughtful touches ! Would stay again if we come back to this area ...

    Dipankar2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to visit Yosemite and around. Dru is a really nice guy and funny, we had a short time talking with him but it was really cool. The place is quiet and a lot of space ! I wish we could stay longer.

    Denis2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not do justice ! More spacious then appears in the pictures , beautifully decorated Clean lots of space privacy and wonderful extra touches like a bottle of wine on arrival of fully stocked Keurig refrigerator space washer and dryer and an amazing private patio a great value we highly recommend and will be coming back !

    Lisa2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ron and Dru's place has sealed AirBnB as my number one preference for safe and comfortable stays. No more hotels and motels. Their cottage is straight out of a fairy tale and is the perfect place to be if you're visiting Yosemite. This cottage deserves a minimum 3 night visit where at least an entire day is spent just enjoying the cottage itself and ignoring the world outside. Ron and Dru are amazing hosts, great to chat with and gave us the best advice for drives, gas, planning our Yosemite trip. We're going to remember this trip for a long long time thanks to these wonderful AirBnB hosts. I'm surely recommending this place to others and I'll be back myself too. It offers much more than what it says on the website. Don't forget to check out the patio, backyard and the piano!

Nestled in the pines this cozy home will give you relaxation while watching birds, deer and other wild life. Situated 25 miles from Yosemite National Park.
I thought the property's original cottage was charming, and wanted to save all. Now, however, you can enjoy the beautiful location in the woods, plus the modern furniture, hot water, A/C and heat.
We are a part of a small community of Greeley Hill that boasts 2 gas stations, a market and a hardware store, library and restaurant.
  • The place is charming and the surrounding woods are AMAZING for hiking/walking. Highly recommended!

  • This was such a great get away and an amazing location not too far from Yosemite Valley. I came for a solo Thanksgiving trip and it was absolutely rejuvenating. Truly was peaceful amongst the pines :) Hieu and Carol are thoughtful and quick in response and have great local tips. Thank you for making this trip so memorable!

    Greyson2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a perfect Yosemite getaway without a bite on your pocket and not compromising on comfort this is the place for you. It's a 40 min drive away from Big Flat Yosemite entrance and is easy to locate.Peaceful, clean and comfortable and more than that scenic rural setting. Note - There is no cell phone reception but the hosts do provide internet and that solves for routing and immediate needs and there is a land phone as well.

    Guruvayurappan2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place. Did not meet host but they had everything prepared and to a high standard with little extras like Yosemite info, teas coffee, sauces in fridge, ice in freezer. Wifi sufficient for trip preparation. Mattress was a little wobbly (we felt each other move easily) but otherwise faultless. Reccomended!

    Ian2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Hieu and Carol's lodge! The place is very peaceful, clean and comfortable, with a great kitchen. It's located in the woods about an hour and a half drive from Yosemite National Park, making it a very good location to explore Yosemite and it's surroundings.

    Fabian2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean place with everything you need inside. Easy to access. Really nice for a get away

    Milton2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay! Sparkling clean, comfortable bed, great kitchen, living area and bath and located in such a peaceful setting. Be aware though that if Yosemite NP is your focal point that you have 35-45 minute drive depending on traffic, the scenery is wonderful though. We would definitely revisit. Highly recommend!

( only 15 minutes drive to the entrance of Yosemite)
Smith's Station was originally a popular stop in the 1800's for stages and horsedrawn freight wagons. The original lodge once served guests on their way to Yosemite. Among the visitors signing the guest register at Smith's was Teddy Roosevelt.
  • A hidden gem to stay at in Yosemite that rivals the park itself. Garland was super responsive and the place was really nice for a weekend getaway. Amenities are top notch and the distance from yosemite was so close you can go everyday of your stay. Would recommend.

  • Great place to stay if you’re planning to head to Yosemite, less than 1 hour to get to the northern entrance! Bedroom and bathroom are clean, no problems communicating with host and caretaker. Would stay here again :)

  • Accommodation is recommended, located very well on the direct route between San Francisco and Yosemite. In addition, clean, idyllic, easy contact, impeccable check-in and check-out

    Uwe2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Yes, it is rustic but it definitely has its charme! Imagine rustic "Wood Cabin" and you wont be disappointed. There is hot and cold drinking water available, you are allowed to use the microvave (no dishes though, at least not that I know of) and there is some tea and coffee available. The view is nice and the night sky simply amazing. There is a nice cat, too! The walls are thin, so you have to rely on your neighbours to show some consideration. All in all there could have been some more instructions about what you can do and what you shouldnt. For example: the kitchen is off limits, which is okay, but I've been told that one is allowed to use the cups on the counter. Those have to be washed after use however, and no you will have to use the off limit kitchen after all, by by passing a chain.

  • Very clean house, the house is very beautiful and pleasant. The neighbors are very nice. Miriam is also very friendly. Remember to provide snow tires or chains if there is snow forecast because the driveway to go home is difficult to access when there is snow. Other than that I recommend without any hesitation.

    Xav2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great time at Miriam’s place. The house was sparkling clean with everything we needed. Thank you!

  • Convenient location for staying outside of Yosemite - just over an hour to get to the middle of Yosemite. A clean and well equipped place to stay! There are limited food options nearby - the closest village with food is about 20 minutes drive away.

    Noah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam's Deer Hill Cabin is exactly the place to get some much needed mountain TLC. Best part about a long day in Yosemite is getting to go home, cook dinner and cuddle up in front of the fireplace to watch a movie

    Tessa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • Bonnie was lovely and was very understanding with my COVID concerns (this place is also super clean). She greeted us upon arrival and gave us a run down of everything in the space. The space itself was cozy and the location can’t be beat. It is so out of the way that we didn’t even need to lock our car (but we did anyway because we’re from LA and we’ve never left anything without locking up - habits haha). The QUIET is amazing! Bonnie did let us know that they have wild turkeys on the property that may make noise at night, along with other wildlife. We would absolutely stay here again if Bonnie would have us! We want to go to Yosemite when it opens up again so we’ll be making a future reservation. Thanks again, Bonnie!

Our 120 acre ranch is 35 miles from Yosemite Park and in the middle of the southern Sierra Gold country. Our 18 ft. diameter tent is set on the edge of our living space at 3300 ft.We provide sleeping bags, pillows and camp chairs if you don't have your own. There is a fire pit and a propane grill available. Good water from a hose at the camp site and a solar shower and porta pottie 100 yards away. So try a little camping if you are headed to the Park and enjoy the starry nights on our hill.
Since we are very rural it gets very dark and there are no streets lights. So it is best to arrive in day light. Also good to wear shoes that cover your feet. This is good camping but not glamping.
Well this is the outback. It is quiet . We don't see any neighbors. We have three friendly guard dogs who work the night shift and keep the wild critters away. You may hear them at night. There is a seasonal creek that borders the back of our property and we have been known to pan for gold there .The natives who first lived here left some grinding rocks here.
  • We loved staying at Carol’s tipi. The surroundings are beautiful and we loved that it was secluded and quiet. Exactly what we were looking for! Carol is such a nice and friendly person! Our only regret was we couldn’t stay longer. Josef and Petra.

    Petra2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • To stay in Carols tipi was for me and my boyfriend a great experience. It is a quite place in the middle of the nature. We were sitting in the evening and enjoyed the moon. There is everything what a human being needs: drinkable water, sleeping place, toilet and a shower. I guess it is a great place for a BBQ. We arrived to late to try it out. If we are back in this area we would book Carols tipi again.

    Laura2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Carol’s place is very nice, clean the bathroom and shower is clean and perfect. She gave us tips about Yosemite. Definitely would stay again!

    Kristina2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Carol’s Tipi was an experience to be shared. Lovely host who has all the information you could need about the area, and stories of her own to share. The tipi was luxurious on a plot overlooking the sierras. Nothing was missing from making a perfect getaway. Stay up to enjoy the stars if you are lucky enough to stay here.

    Reid2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Carol’s place is definitely off-grid but worth it for the experience. She warmly welcomed us and provided us with all the basic tools to make a wholesome dinner. Everything was provided despite the camping setup — soap, shampoo, toilet paper, towels, blankets etc. The sunset and stars were beautiful to see from above. Will definitely return when I can the chance to explore Yosemite area again.

  • From the back yard first enter your private bathroom, then come out from another door of the bathroom, Across the corridor carpet enter your room. Nice yard and you can do yuga in a big living room. The frig is in the garage with many stuff which is their extra refrigerator too. The window face to the front door but lower just higher than the ground. Small room with a microwave. The air condition is from the ceiling. I stayed one night then left because I prefer no air-conditioning in the room. I like to sleep with the window open so I can get frash air entire night.

The parking space was small, but there was street parking, and the street wasn't too busy. If you've never visited the area, visit the tourism place in Sonora; they gave us a lot of tips.

Enjoy a comfortable, eco-friendly trailer camping experience just 30 min outside Yosemite. The Chick Inn trailer has all the basic amenities to provide an outdoorsy experience without sleeping on the ground. The "Loo with a View" lets you bathe in the treetops, while the trailer provides basic cooking and comfy sleeping options (new mattress!) for ultimate convenience. All in the mountain with miles of trails and rivers to explore nearby. Stay here and avoid the fees of Pine Mountain Lake.
The quaint vintage trailer provides a small double bed (new, actual mattress and memory foam topper), table, stove top, sink, and a "pee-only" toilet. The bathroom in the trailer is pretty small. If you have problems getting up from the toilet without support this probably isn't the best situation for you. There is a fan for hot days and heater and blankets for cold nights. During the winter months the trailer can be quite chilly; it's a large metal box. If you get cold easily bring extra warm clothes. Also if it's forecasted to be freezing at night we will not be able to host you since all water will have to be turned off. This is not an 'RV' but a small (16ft) vintage trailer. It provides all the basic amenities but not indoor space for stretching out. The "Loo with a View" is an outdoor shower and composting toilet (poo only) for all your cleaning needs. Patio and reclining chairs for your relaxation needs after a long day of hiking/exploring Yosemite. This eco-friendly trailer setup is powered by solar panels and recycles all shower and sink water through a greywater system (landscape irrigation). Non-toxic cleaning products are used for all cleaning and laundry purposes. We like to keep this space hypoallergenic and fragrance-free so please leave your perfume and fragrances in the car. And absolutely no pets for this reason as well.
Quiet neighborhood only 1 mile from town, but not ideal to walk to. Neighbors enjoy the serenity of the mountains so please be respectful.
  • Loved this spot so much. So many great little touches. Overall a very memorable experience.

    Andrew2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • I loved it there. Probably not for you if you want all mod cons but if you like simplicity in a great location this is hard to beat!

    Bobby2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • A “total California experience” for us as we visited Yosemite. The camper is small but super clean, and the bed is comfortable. The outdoor shower is amazing. About 25 miles to the gate at Yosemite, and 50 miles to the valley. Aimee is a wonderful host.

    Jeremy2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Chick Inn. It was our first experience in an RV. Everything was cozy about the interior. Loo & shower with a view was just perfect! Very innovative. Loved our stay.

    Ayanita2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The trailer is pretty magical - everything you might need is tucked into its own spot, and the shower and composting toilet are awesome! Really fun to explore Groveland, too.

    Elinor2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee's place was fun, interesting and extremely clean. She and her family are incredibly kind, helpful and shared great places to explore nearby, their dog was very sweet too. There is a market and places to eat within a short drive. This is a convenient place to stay if taking day trips to Yosemite or the Hetch Hetchy. The outdoor shower is amazing with a beautiful view. Definitely recommend!

    Gareth2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it, everything went smoothly during our stay. The shower and bathroom with a view was definitely the highlight, super convenient how the lights at night to the bathroom lit up. I’d come back and recommend this place to anyone.

You’ll love having your own private cabin, a scenic hour's drive from Yosemite's Western entrance gate. Enjoy quiet comforts in a beautiful rustic setting. Enjoy the rippling creek running alongside a paved walking or bike trail, where the immigrant trail for pioneers traveling to California during the Gold Rush of 1849 passed right through the property. Groups have been hosted here for the last 70 years when it was a beloved summer camp facility. You are all set up with the comforts of home, while leaving your cares behind. Explore the hiking trail along the year-around creek, or walk our labyrinth. Put together a puzzle or play pool or table games by the crackling wood fireplace in the lounge area of the main lodge on the property during shared common space times of 8am-8pm. Pick up a guitar, drum or play the piano to entertain yourself from our music corner.
We are only minutes away from all of the Sierra Nevada and Yosemite area (park is 60 miles from here), Twain Harte dining or shopping is only 2 miles away, we are happy to give you guidance to local shopping, eating, attractions, etc. Twain Harte Market is a nearby, well-stocked grocery store with plenty of gourmet stuff to satisfy any foodie.. . Sonora is 10 miles, Jamestown and Columbia are 14 miles, with Moaning and Mercer Caverns, Murphys and Calaveras Big Trees park just beyond that a short drive. Black Oak Casino is 4 miles down the road, along with the charming little Toulumne City. Enjoy nature's playground and "Earth" yourself in a piece of paradise in the middle of so many opportunities to explore.

    Ivan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Donna has a great place. It's close to all that Tuolumne County has to offer - skiing, mountain biking, hiking, just being outdoors. It's close to Dodge Ridge where I go skiing but there is so much else to offer around the area. It's great for a small family/couple or to bring a group of friends at each cabin. This is a great launching pad to get outdoors.

    Justin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

    Nick2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Maria's place. We were a family group of 6 adults and there was plenty of space for us all. The beds were very comfortable and one of the showers worked fine. All appliances are good quality. We didn't use any outside facilities as we stayed just two nights to visit Yosemite, but there was lots of furniture and seating areas. We liked the location which was peaceful and quiet. We would stay again.

  • House was good location was good, expect far away from Yosamati

    Sunil2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Expect no service whatsoever unless you connect to the WiFi but overall the place is nice. The host are very quick to respond if you need anything, I enjoyed myself and loved the scenic ride on the way in!

COVID19 ALERT: WE ARE CLOSED DUE TO THE STAY AT HOME ORDER UNTIL ??. CLICK ON MY ICON TO SEE ALL LISTINGS. This 1964 boxcar is located on what was known as the Golden Chain Highway, now Highway 49 named after the 49ers who came seeking their fortune. Just a short drive to Yosemite National Park and nestled in the foothills of a California gold rush town, the boxcar is a part of the Vacation Station, a decommissioned train that has been lovingly converted into a vacation rental.
The Boxcar is like an apartment. The main entrance opens into the living/kitchenette area. There is also a private bedroom (with an additional door to the outside) and a full bathroom (also with an additional door to the outside). The living area has a queen size fold out couch, two twin bunk beds, a Roku Smart TV, a desk with a chair and a full kitchenette with a dining table.
  • Very cute, unique stay. There's not much to do in Coulterville is self, good launch pad or landing spot for a Yosemite trip.

    Lee2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is charming and full of whimsy--the perfect location to just get away or a great landing pad for Yosemite day trips. Cute, clean and has all the amenities you need. Highly recommended!

    Kristin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here with our 4 kids. Plenty of room, clean and exactly as described. Kids loved the boxcar. Host is super helpful. Coulterville is a cute little town with friendly people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Jennifer2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • For fans of The Boxcar Children book series, this is the ultimate stay! We spent an idyllic couple days at the boxcar with our 2 kids during Thanksgiving week. It's VERY comfortably furnished with A/C and heating (we were snug and cozy during the sudden snowstorm) and high quality blankets and bedding. We loved reading inside in the evenings and exploring the charming little town of Coulterville during the day. Be sure to visit the excellent Coulterville Cafe & General Store, which is literally a 5 min walk away, and the history museum right next door! Groveland, where we charged our car, is just 20 min away and Yosemite Valley was about an hour and 10 min drive. We highly recommend this airbnb!

    Bonnie2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay and good size for a couple or even a couple kiddos!

    Danielle2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nealy is a great host. She is super attentive and quick to respond to any needs or questions. The vacation station was a fun experience because of the style. Probably more fun of you have little ones interested in locomotives. The place itself has all the basic needs plus a little more to make your stay comfortable. Pillows are quite soft though so if your a bring your own pillow type of person like me, make sure you don't forget it!

We are happy to make introductions to local farms, massage therapist and just about anyone you would like to meet.
  • This beautiful and serene ranch is a perfect week or weekend escape from the Bay Area (or any city!). We're a group of eight, two couples and four kids plus a dog, and we all had a great time. This place is heaven for a city dog who never gets to run around in the woods. The property is large enough to take a nice little walk/hike around it (about 20-30 minutes on a trail) and for kids to play and explore. The house, unlike a lot of Air BnB's, has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The hosts are very thoughtful and were immediately responsive when we asked them questions. The town of Coulterville is tiny, but there's a great restaurant there, also owned by Kim and Dawn. I'd highly recommend this place!

    Abby2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay exceeded our expectations! Dawn and Kim were extremely hospitable, offered us fresh tomatoes and basil from their vegetable garden, and even invited us to their nightly routine feeding apples and grapes to Chica and Nibbler, the neighbor's horse and goat :) There were very nice touches throughout the house and property, including bluetooth speakers in the house and by the pool, as well as a well-equipped kitchen with everything you would need to cook a great meal. Plenty of bed space and perfect for large families! Will be back soon, thank you!

    Sebastien2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice pool area was perfect for our family get together. The cabin was spacious and the grounds had some nice short hikes.

    Meghan2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • It is a wonderful cabin, very clean and spacious. Great location, a lot of amenities, even got its own hiking trail. The owners are very thoughtful and quick in response. We had a wonderful time there.

    Hui2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Dawns home is very relaxing and open. It’s fecund surroundings encourage peaceful downtime and it’s proximity to Yosemite (1.5 hr) and San Francisco (2.5 hr) makes it an ideal option for an abode in between nature and the city. Any questions were answered quickly and the amenities were plentiful! Nice showers and beds. Be sure to spend time across the swing bridge on the patio next to the pool :)

    Charlie2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing 3 night stay at The Big Table Ranch. There were 8 people and 2 dogs in our group and we had so much space in and outside the house. The grounds and pool were even better in person. The beds, pillows and linen were high quality and so comfortable. Kim and Dawn allowed us to use their huge dog kennel and even checked on the dogs (apparently they had separation anxiety) frequently until they knew they knew they were ok and settled. This was a lovely place to relax after a day at Yosemite or even as a retreat Thanks Kim and Dawn for sharing your space with us!

    Dina2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a good, quiet place to relax after your day at Yosemite, with a choice of spaces to enjoy. Would be great for a big group. Definitely eat breakfast at the Coulter Café, and try the Iron Door Saloon in Groveland, and go for the brisket at Diamond BBQ in Greeley Hill.

    Paul2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kim’s cabin was the perfect rustic retreat for us and base for Yosemite. Even on or rainy day, we played scrabble and stayed warm by the fire. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and the well-equipped kitchen allowed us to cook hearty meals for 7. Great stay.

    Roma2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to get an early start for your Yosemite adventure. Stephanie is very friendly and responsive, she shared lots of tips and current Yosemite information with us. The room is spacious, very clean and has everything you need. The two beds have heated blankets to keep you warm. Our stay here was a pleasant experience and I can highly recommend it.

    Adam2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the room at Stephanie's on the way into Yosemite and it was perfect! The location is close to Yosemite - a bit over an hour if you're headed to the Valley floor - and Stephanie had tons of useful advice on where we should go and what we should prioritize as first-time visitors to the park. Even though it was cold outside, we had out own heater and heated blankets to make sure we stayed warm. The space was super clean and had everything you could need - fridge, microwave, coffee machine, private bathroom, extra towels, etc.

    Brandon2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Two queen beds, electric blanket, smooth check in. Very clean. There is no kitchen in the unit.

    Iman2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

Cozy lodge-type house located in Gold Country area near Yosemite National Park. Greeley Hill is a small community in a pine and oak forest at approximately 3,100-foot elevation on the John Muir Highway and 25 miles from the Big Oak Flat entrance to Yosemite. Because Yosemite covers 1,200 square miles, it is difficult to give a drive-time estimate, in general.
3 bedroom, 2 bath cozy lodge-type house located in Gold Country area near Yosemite National Park. Greeley Hill is a small community in a pine and oak forest at approximately 3,100-foot elevation on the John Muir Highway and 25 miles from Yosemite. Also close enough to Mono Lake, Mammoth Lake, Kings Canyon, Columbia National Park for day trips, when the passes over the Sierras are open. The cottage is 3 miles from shopping, dining and fuel. The local area has trails for hiking, horseback riding, natural pool for swimming, zip lining, fishing and boating. The year-around cottage is on a 13-acre wooded parcel with the owners living approximately 3 miles down the road. It is fully furnished and equipped and includes washer/dryer, wood-burning stove, gas heat, evaporative cooler, refrigerator, dishwasher, satellite TV, telephone and wifi high-speed internet service; your cell phone will probably not work except for wifi. Exterior features include deck, picnic area with grill and horseshoe pit, and large parking area for multiple vehicles.
The neighborhood is wooded, on the side of a hill and across from a meadow and stream. It is remote, but close enough to food, gas, great hiking, swimming in a natural pool, church, restaurant and library.

  • This was a fantastic place to stay and we would stay here again next time we're headed to Yosemite. We had a group of 12 and the cottage fit us all perfectly! It is tucked away in a nice little community and only 1.5 hour drive to Yosemite Valley so it was very convenient. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook for 12 people both nights. The beds were comfy and the fire pit was a nice play to hang out at night. Overall a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend!

  • My girlfriend and I had a great time at Glenn's place. The space was warm, clean, and had lovely little touches. A great place to stay for anyone in the area.

    David2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn's place was perfect for a quick getaway to the snow. We found our warm room stocked with water, coffee, oatmeal, and awesome advice on local adventures. We had a great time! Thanks so much!!

    Alex2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was prepared really well and one felt at home fast. Many little details helped (coffee, microwave, fridge, free water and some snacks). Internet works great, too. Besides offering many flyers for attractions in the room Glenn also took the time to explain the geography around in detail. In particular I was visiting Yosemite Park (incl. hiking up Yosemite Falls/Peak), explored Sonora Pass and Peak, went to Big Tree Park and the Columbia Historic Park, went out to Sonora, Jamestown and did wine tasting.

    Benjamin2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great host. Such a cozy space and sparkling clean. Was quick to respond for a short notice booking.

    Reema2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay! So comfortable, charming, relaxing, clean, and with great hosts who are completely welcome and quick to respond to any needs. The amenities made me feel like I was staying in an "entire place," not just a "private room!" With a private entrance, off street parking, private bathroom, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV, etc... it's everything a traveler needs. The location is perfect being just moments from Hwy 108 a grocery store within walking distance (for me) and a fantastic coffee spot. This gem is my new "go to" whenever I visit my many family members in the area. 5+ Stars!

    Gary2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy, clean, tidy, charming, pleasant place to stay with all you need if you arrive - from bath toiletries and bath products, to snacks on the table, flowers from their garden, milk and coffee ready to use :) I couldnt imagine the nicer place like that. Moreover Glenn prepared the maps with all tips for the trips around. Fantastic! we enjoyed it to the fullest, big THANK YOU :)

    Andrea2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean place to stay! Everything was really clean and you have your own bathroom, fridge, etc. Host provided some nice things to eat and drink. Sometimes you can hear the little dogs but that didn’t bother us at all, cause its only during daytime. Host gave us some information about Yosemite etc. You have your own parking space.

  • We absolutely loved our time here. Everything was clean, cozy and well-stocked! Jayne, Northern and family are amazing hosts! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay - we will for sure be back!

    Ashly2020-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place and area!

    Cesar2020-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beat our expectations in every way. Some Airbnb hosts scrimp on amenities such as bedding, towels, soap, location etc. Not this one!! They thought of everything!! Super cute, cozy and clean. Jayne was nearby but we never felt intruded on in any way. Enough privacy and space with the knowledge that she was just a phone call a way if we needed anything. Highly recommend this place!!!

    Kat2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cozy, cute, and clean getaway place. About an hour drive to Yosemite and plenty of things to do near by. Jayne was so amazing and always made sure we had everything we needed. Will stay here again for my next visit to Yosemite.

    Travana2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jayne’s place has everything you need: fully functioning kitchen, wonderful bathroom, big bed and an outdoor jacuzzi! We will definitely be back again. The cabin is in ~2h driving distance from Yosemite. There is also a bunch of local hikes to try and the local town Sonora can provide you with good coffee!

    Niclas2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip to Yosemite was so much better because of this welcoming space! We thought it looked cute and homey in the photos - it’s even more so in person! We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to unwind and rest after hiking and to really enjoy being on vacation. Highly recommended!

    Anne Marie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • I did a little solo three day spiritual retreat at this AirBnB and had the greatest time. The little studio is very private, and thoughtfully and stylishly furnished with everything a guest would need. Jayne provided baskets of snacks, teas, and even champagne! It was immaculately clean both physically and energetically (which is rare for a space that so many people stay in.) The bed was really comfortable and had great pillows. I slept like a baby. The kitchen has a full size stove, microwave, and mini-fridge, as well as is fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans, and even pantry basics, like cooking oil, flour, sugar, spices, etc. It was easy to cook in, and to intuitively find whatever I needed. The kitchen and bathroom have gorgeous views of a forested hillside. I actually set up a little meditation spot at the kitchen window because it was so beautiful. I ate all my dinners outside at a little cafe table watching the magnificent sunsets. There is a pond below with croaking frogs, so many birds on the property, and even bats flying in the evening! The whole property was just teeming with life! Not to mention the sweetest outdoor cat Northern, who definitely filled the cat shaped hole in my heart from missing my own furry little men. I enjoyed exploring the property and discovered magnificent moss covered trees and boulders in a ravine below. It truly felt like a fairy land. There was also a hot tub with a beautiful view, though I didn't use it on my trip. In person this AirBnB was far more beautiful and comfortable than I expected, and I had already been charmed by the photos. Definitely don't hesitate to book a stay here!

  • We enjoyed our stay at Karen's while visiting Yosemite - would stay again!

    Andrew2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great space! The living area and bedroom were very comfortable. Karen had coffee and water and snacks waiting for us on arrival. We didn't actually meet Karen but communication was no problem. Any time I had a question, she responded quickly. The information guides and recommendations were very helpful. I wouldn't definitely return and recommend this rental space.

    Kathy2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s place is clean, private, and relaxing. The gated community her home is located in offers many outdoor activities. We saw many wildlife and had a nice time relaxing on the porch, and also the couches. The couches are very comfortable and clean. It pulls out into a queen bed, which our two other friends slept in (they slept great on it). The bathroom is very clean and updated, and has one of those heaters, so after the shower you don’t have to be so cold! Which I appreciated a lot, lol. Bring K cups for she has a keurig coffee pot, and spoons and forks if you plan on eating there instead of eating out. She had plastic forks in the packaging available but I’m not sure if that was left over from the previous renters — either way we used it. Although we didn’t have a full kitchen, the mini fridge with a freezer and the microwave was enough for my husband and I since we meal prepped for our trip. :) Karen’s place was the perfect place to be cozy in after a full day hiking around Yosemite! Hot showers, and a clean place to sleep in. Highly recommend. :)

    Majie2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lot of sweet touches. Fridge and microwave are very convenient. There is no kitchen but didn't mind at all. A great place overall

    Carine2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and clean accommodation, perfect for a multi-day trip to Yosemite National Park (about 1.5 hours drive). In addition to the private rooms (living room, bedroom, bathroom) there was a parking space in the driveway, a fridge and the possibility to prepare coffee. The arrival is recommended before sunset, as it is very dark in Groveland at night and the accommodation is easier to find in daylight.

    Christoph2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • It is a beautiful room separated from the house. It is in a beautiful environment near a lake where wild deer and other animals walk around. It is clean and we recommend it to everyone to stay here when you visit Yosemite.

    Bob2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A country get a way. Perfect to see the rolling hills, and to be close to Yosemite, a straight shot to it.

  • Karen’s place was the perfect location for us to travel in and out of Yosemite each day. It was very clean and private. The only downsides were the entrance fee and the kitchen facilities. A microwave and fridge are provided however we were only given two paper plates. This made it difficult to microwave our food.

Cozy Cool One Bedroom Cottage tucked within the Willow Springs Community of Soulsbyville. Easy access to Hwy 108! In one direction down the hill is Sonora and the opposite direction up the hill is Twain Harte-minutes away! Enjoy all the recreation there is to offer close by including Columbia State Historic Park and Railtown 1897, Jamestown, Sonora shops & theaters, Black Oak Casino, Pinecrest Lake, Dodge Ridge Skiing, New Melones Lake, Don Pedro Lake, Lyons Reservoir, and Yosemite.
All clean bedding and toiletries are available. The kitchen is stocked with all kitchenware items to cook and serve meals. A grill is available as well for those wanting to BBQ or a firepit to enjoy smores or roast a pig-no joke. We are Polynesian! LOL
We relocated from the Phoenix, Arizona Valley a little over a year ago. We love this area! There's a little mini-mart nearby that sells Trader Joe goods and just next to that is Sierra Flow Fitness for those who wish to burn some calories while on vacay. The yoga classes are great! A few miles up before Pinecrest is another little gem town called Twain Harte. Lots of great places to dine at! All menus and area information are available in the cottage.
  • We are DEFINITELY going to be staying with Leilani and Vuki again! They were fantastic hosts, extremely responsive and thoughtful.

    Elliott2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Speaking clean!! There is coffee, WiFi, pots and pans to make breakfast and dinner! Small and quaint. Sonora is a great little town to explore and hike! Quiet and fun time!

  • Cottage at King’s Court is the most adorable, super comfortable and welcoming place we have ever stayed ❤️ Leilani is amazing, she stared a fire in the fire pit every night, which is so welcoming after a fun filled day out and about. The cottage is super clean and so adorable from top to bottom. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back to visit! 😊

    Kimberly2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is just as described. We really enjoyed the little extras - the smores and nightly fire were a great feature. The location next to park was nice to walk the dog and get out to explore. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Thank you.

    Tama2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so cute! I loved that they provided the s’mores and had the fire ready both nights of our stay without us having to ask. The place was sparkling clean too, which was great!

    Jacob2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in this cute little house. It is not far from Dodge Ridge where we spent our days playing in the snow. Would definitely book again!

Beautiful 28 ft RV trailer, set on 30 acres a privite woodsy space . We are about 25 miles from the entrance to Yosemite. Lots of hiking. biking or just relaxing.
We have a little store here for items like bread, beer and butter. There is a larger store in Groveland which is not to far 12 miles. A yummy bbq place just opened up walking distance. Fun little off the beaten path local places you can find and explore. Lots of history in this area!
  • Very clean and comfortable, very friendly hosts. Loved the space and area. So peaceful and relaxing. Woukd highly recommend. Will definitely stay here again.

  • Truly a 5-star experience. The rental was immersed in the woods which is not a view you get out of any hotel window! The RV has all the necessary amenities plus some. The hospitality was next to none. Diane and Rob were always available and took great care of my dog while I visited Yosemite. Even gave us fresh coffee and breakfast snacks in the morning. Will definitely be back and have already told all my friends. Highly recommended experience! On a side note, try 9 Diamonds BBQ at the end of the driveway. Best I’ve ever had, and I used to live off of Texas BBQ!

This vacation rental is just 26 miles away from the entrance of Yosemite National Park. We are inside the gate of Pine Mountain Lake. Within 1 mile to either the main lake where you can rent kayaks, paddle boarding, paddle boats and other items or Dunn court marina. There is a snack shack at the main marina. We are right around the corner of the golf course. There is usually a live band or DJ at the golf club, where you can dine and participate in adult beverages. There is an equestrian center, community pool, pickle ball and tennis available.
  • Michelle's place was fantastic! Super clean and stylish, and an open homey space. This was a perfect place for a weekend get away with friends and family, couldn't be happier with my experience.

    Albert2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home ! My family had such a wonderful stay . There was everything we needed there for us to use in the kitchen . I had forgotten some utensils and she had what I needed there to cook . Communication was awsome and she answered each question right away. I referred some friends to rent there because they loved my videos of the place.

    Silvia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • When you walk into this Airbnb, a feeling of calmness comes over you. The decorations all over the house give the place a personal touch. The showers turn hot faster than my own place. The beds are very comfy and there are plenty of additional blankets to stay warm. We stayed at this spot because we wanted to be near Yosemite while keeping the lodging affordable.

Our mountain home is so comfortable, you may not want to leave. We are centrally located to many historical destinations, such as, Columbia State Park, Calaveras Big Trees, Angels Camp, Dodge Ridge, Jamestown 1897 Railtown Historic Park, Pine Crest Lake, Iron Stone Winery (a must see), and the famous Yosemite National Park. These are all to name a few.
Our warm wood floors against the creamy white walls make our place pop with mountain appeal. Every effort has been made to make you feel right at home.
We have great neighbors. Sometimes they stop by for tea on Fridays. If you're inclined, come join us too.
  • Nice area, very calm, clean, and close to the hospital. If you’re a hospital employee I def. recommend!

  • I was very satisfied and glad that I booked this listing! I would do it again! Amazing, kind, and friendly host! I highly recommend if you need a place to stay in this area.

  • Patty was very accommodating and hospitable. They have a lovely place, close to Sonora, and it was very clean and homey. Kitchen privileges were great. I highly recommend it.

  • It is truly the best Airbnb experience that mori and I had ever experienced. The host is super friendly, and it's our pleasure as well to celebrate her birthday, too. It is an amazing house located in a forest surrounding, you'll definitely enjoy yourself and the great atmosphere of nature. Worth staying again if I come back here.

    YuHong2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts are very kind and considerate. They keep the place very clean and there are many games and areas to enjoy especially during warm weather or down time (which we couldn’t since it was winter and we were out most of the time). Conveniently located for trips to Murphy’s or up to Dodge Ridge or Columbia. We enjoyed our stay.

    Pratibha2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was literally the best AirBnB experience we've ever had! The hosts were super nice, the place was clean and beautiful, the breakfast was excellent (the host even baked us fresh muffins!) and the whole experience was quite enriching! We'd love to stay here again!

    Ashish2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our short stay in Sonora at Patty and her husband's place. It's in a very picturesque area outside of Sonora. it's about 15 minutes from everywhere you might want to visit in the surrounding area. We had a wonderful time visiting in the morning before we left while enjoying a special blend of their coffee and a light breakfast. We highly recommend staying with them if you have the chance as they are very personable and helpful in guiding you to the many attractions in the area. We are already looking forward to another visit in the near future. The bathroom is right across from the room and you are the only one using it so that is an added bonus. We highly recommend staying with the family. Thank you again for your hospitality!!

Everyone remarks how quiet it is here. Review from Chris and family from Florida: "The location is within a gated community of lovely homes nestled around a mountain lake, with a golf course. The community is hilly, and it was common to see a family of deer on the way in and out of the community. The lower level of the home has views of the gardens lovingly planted and tended by John and Mary, with spring flowers and trees blooming all over at the time of our stay. The private entrance with its walk thru the garden leads to the lower level patio with comfortable chairs, tables, hot tub and BBQ cooking area for outside living. The inside bedrooms are comfortable with lavish amounts of covers and pillows for cool nights. The spacious bathroom is provided with extra fluffy towels and all sorts of unique lotions to try. The brand new kitchen allowed us to cook breakfast and dinner "at home" so we could enjoy extra treats at lunch while visiting the hotels inside Yosemite. John's inside knowledge of Yosemite and the surrounding area helps the novice find their way to great viewing spots. The specialty coffee maker, fresh flowers and fruit upon our arrival, all contribute to one's feeling of luxury and welcome. This is a very special getaway in itself, near the Rte. 120 entrance to Yosemite. Highly recommended."
Private, gated community, 3200 ft. elevation, surrounded by trees, cool in the summer, mild in the winter. 30 min drive to the North Gate of Yosemite National Park + 45 min travel to Yosemite Valley. Grocery store 10 min. away. Closest restaurant is 2 min. away called "The Grill". Several others 12 min. away.
  • Wonderful space by Yosemite park, great communication and a lovely stay! Thanks!

    Divneet2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. John even left fruit and milk/cereal for us. Nice decoration. I recommend ! (However it needs to be said that one of the 3 double beds is an inflatable mattress so it is not comfortable).

  • John and Mary’s place is such a charming place to stay. The downstairs was a great space with plenty of room, clean, and maintained with amazing detail. Everything about the space John and Mary have already considered and have available which mad our stay super relaxing. We will recommending this to our friends and hoping to stay here again when in the area.

  • Such a cute, cozy place! Perfect for staying over for a quick weekend trip. John gave great directions to get there, very easy to follow. He greeted us at the door, showed around the Airbnb, told us how to use the hottub, and then gave us complete privacy for the rest of our stay. Very hospitable.

  • Good location, great communication, great host

    Akash2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at John and Mary's and I'm so happy that it wasn't booked when we went looking for lodging. The value given the amenities and the size simply can't be beat. When you tack on the prime location (last place to stay before Yosemite with a decent cell connection) and the hosts' attentiveness and kindness there isn't another comparable choice.

This tiny house (120 sq. ft) is brand new and built just for you, our Airbnb guests. Though small, it packs all the essentials for a comfortable stay including bathroom, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, heater and air conditioning. When the queen murphy bed is not in use, it converts into a couch leaving space for the table and chairs. It is conveniently located 71 miles from Yosemite Visitor's Center and a great stopping point between the Bay area and Yosemite National Park.
You will use the driveway behind our house that has two parking spaces, one for you and one for Airbnb guests at a separate listing. Please park in the indicated parking space.
We live in a small neighborhood not far from Highway 108 between Jamestown and Sonora. Both are old gold mining towns with quaint Main Streets filled with antique shops and restaurants. One of our favorite cafe's for breakfast, Wood's Creek, is just a mile away. There are a few roosters in the neighborhood to wish you good morning but we have earplugs available if you're a light sleeper and want to sleep in.
  • Great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

  • A super cute well-designed little place with great hosts and thoughtful amenities, including an adorable Murphy bed! Perfect for single or couple, nice quiet neighborhood close to Sonora. Crickets and frogs sang me to sleep and a far-off rooster was a gentle wake-up (that I snoozed :) ...Loved it!

  • In a small space you have everything you need to stop before Yosemite. The shower is big enough, the bed very comfortable. We came to Jamestown in a colder season. People with a very light sleep could possibly wake up from the ventilation / heating. For us, the little house had a lot of charm. Therefore gladly again.
