Very nice and cozy getaway. It’s walking distance to restaurants, grocery market, and small park. The dock is very nice for evening fishing with some big cats and also great crabbing. It was exactly what I expected and was not disappointed.

Jamie is an excellent host, and if I could give more stars, I would. It was a great pleasure to meet him. The house corresponds exactly to the photos, including a lovely swimming pool which is perfect for a little swim. The bed, pillows, and sheets are luxiourous. There is a wide screen TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime in the cozy media room. I highly recommend Jamie's Air bnb for anyone staying in Colonial Beach.

She let us kayak and didn’t mind us playing a little bit of music on the deck at night. Would come back any time. And would recommend highly.

Great little house! Spectacular views and a wonderful screened porch. Great birdwatching and just a fantastic place to unwind and totally relax. It’s little, but has all the conveniences, with nice touches like coffee provided. Verizon phone service worked for us and we used our hotspot to watch the Nationals playoff game on our computer. We even watched a VHS movie! Highly recommend this little place to get away from it all.

We traveled to Maryland for a wedding. We chose Nancy's because it was cute and on the water. We could not have asked for a better spot. It was quaint, quiet, clean and we loved sitting on the deck and dock just enjoying the experience. We met some crabbers who stopped to say good morning and offered to give a us a ride on their boat. They insisted we try our hand at crabbing. It was an amazing time. I recommend Nancy's Little House on the Water to anyone who wants to get away and relax. I'm sad we had to leave! 🦀❤

Place was as described. Cute and by the water. Loved sitting on the porch and watching the birds. We brought the motorcycle so we could ride it places. Perfect spot because it took a bit to get anywhere. Local restaurants were good. Visited a few nearby casinos. Very clean and relaxing. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway. We had a wonderful time in Colonial Beach! We went antiquing, had a lovely time tasting the wines at the Ingleside Winery, and had a delicious brunch at the Dockside Restaurant and Tiki Bar. We're really into nature so we walked around the grounds of the birthplace of George Washington and went birding in Westmoreland State Park. I'm really glad Sherry had a full kitchen so we could cook there often and make the trip affordable.

Sherry’s place was great! It was the perfect spot for a weekend couples getaway. Not far from all of the local establishments.

Robin's place is great. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back. Everything you need is in the kitchen. We bought our George Forman grill but there was even one of those in the cabinet! Apart from no stove, we had everything we needed and then some. I definitely recommend!

The house was comfortable and perfect for our use. The view was spectacular and we had daily visits from ducks and bald eagles. I definitely recommend staying here!

We had such a wonderful stay! The view was unbeatable, the house was spacious and clean and had tons of amenities, and the bed in the master bedroom was comfy and on the firm side, which I was happy about. Unfortunately the tide was high most of the time we were there, obscuring the sandy section at the bottom of the stairs, so we weren’t able to enjoy the little beach area because it was just too hard to get over the rocks. But we did spend a ton of time out on the deck, enjoying the perfect weather, the view, and all of the animals that happened by...ducks, swans, rabbits, and groundhog who always looked like he was plotting something. We will definitely be back! We just wish we could’ve stayed longer!

What a beautiful place, location and beach. Check in was easy, the hosts were easy to reach and communicate with. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, coffee machine, toaster etc. The private little beach was everything. We went fishing and caught a couple of catfish. The neighbors were interesting to watch as in, the ducks, the ground hog, the bald eagle, the swan and the hawks. Morning sun rise was breathtaking. Sitting out on the deck was so relaxing. Will I come here again? You bet cha!!!!!!

This is an incredible gem of a home! The private beach is perfect, especially if you have little ones. The home is just as charming and clean as the photos promise, Leslie is very prompt with her responses, and overall, we could not have loved this stay more! Great place to stay while our employees worked in King George

I stayed at the Red Door Cottage for three months during my training in Dahglren. The location was perfect, a short walk to the waterfront in either direction and a slightly longer walk to all the shops and restaurants in Colonial Beach. The drive to Dahlgren is only about 25 mins. The house was incredibly well stocked with everything I needed to live comfortably during an extended stay. MaryAnne was super nice and very responsive to any issues or questions that came up during my stay. 10/10 would recommend!!

This is the second time we have stayed at Red Door Cottage and we will stay again. Great location, great space for 3 friends with 2 full baths and 3 separate bedrooms. Great amenities including all the essentials and MORE for a get away weekend. Extremely clean, the AC keeps up with the heat and nice available parking. Thanks so much for your great communications and prompt replies. When you are in Colonial Beach, this is the place to stay!

Wow! What an amazing couple and a great spot to stay in cozy CB! Jen and Chris worked with us to ensure that any small or large accommodation that we needed (be it an extra coffee maker, towels, more cleaning materials or storage devices) for our extended trip to CB, we had it! Some of the nicest hosts we have yet to meet in over 6 years of AirBnB hopping. Their house was perfect for the four of us to stay and feel right at home. If you’d rather not stay in a hotel and you prefer your privacy, the ability to cook a homemade meal, and relax on a couch, Jen and Chris have the best spot in Colonial Beach.

Chris and Jen are wonderful hosts and have put in so much thought and care in their beach cottage. From snacks to games to dry shampoo, they really have made sure you feel at home and have everything you need! They also left some wonderful recommendations of what to do in the town of Colonial Beach and made our stay even more special. Definitely recommend, especially if you are coming to escape the hustle and bustle of the City.

Super cozy and clean house! We can highly recommend this place! So close to the beach and restaurants. There is everything you need Soap, Coffee, Tea, Towels and the kitchen is very well equipped! The beds are very comfortable as well. The people in the town are very friendly and Colonial Beach is such a nice area. Chris answered super fast and friendly! We will come again.

PLEASE disregard the previous reviews. This place and the town of Colonial Beach are total gems! To anyone looking for a laid-back beach getaway without the fuss of big beach congestion, look no further. My husband, daughter and I spent the weekend taking it all in on foot, yes...everything is within easy walking distance. In fact, the beachfront is only a 3 1/2 minute WALK from Jen's house! You can park and walk to many great restaurants with high quality live music. I'm a musician, so I know the difference between a good band and a not-so-good band. We heard THREE great groups: a cover bans, a blues band and a guitar/vocal duo. We loved lounging at dockside restaurant as well as people watching at the busier end of town. I totally loved coming back in the evening and sitting on the porch swing to read for hours after my daughter had gone to bed. With two separate bedrooms, both with GREAT quality mattresses, there is plenty of space for a family travelling with a child or possibly two children. We didn't get the chance to enjoy the backyard, but it would be perfect for families traveling with dogs. Quirky yet non-cluttered decor make this is a perfect spot to enjoy all that colonial beach has to offer.

The place is located in a very quiet and nice neighborhood. My husband and I really love the balcony where you can enjoy the nice view of the water, day and night. Robert responses very quickly to our questions and requests.

We loved staying at Robert’s place! The house was perfect for our family- very clean and had everything we needed. The really awesome part was the back porch overlooking the waterway! We spent most evening watching all of the different wildlife including a family of muskrats, swans, ducks, osprey, rabbits, and even a river otter! So amazing!

Lovely house with a killer view. Plenty of room for the 4 of us, and lots to enjoy during walks in Colonial Beach. This is a friendly and welcoming part of the world, with groceries nearby and takeout restaurants too. The canoe and the bikes were great and the beds were comfortable. Just watching the end of the day from the deck was wonderful. All this and wifi, too!

We really enjoyed ourselves and felt very comfortable being at Robert’s place knowing how well it had been sanitized in advance of our arrival (due to coronavirus concerns). The house was beautiful, the bed were very comfortable, the decor was adorable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and we really enjoyed our canoe ride and the egrets and swans we saw on the river. We would definitely enjoy coming back one day!

This place was just what we needed! There were just two of us, but I think the house would very comfortably fit six. The views were BEAUTIFUL, and the deck is very relaxing (and had entertainment from swans and other wildlife swimming by). The canoe was fun, and it was so lovely to go out in the evening. The house itself was comfortable and had just about everything we needed (there were a few small things missing that Robert promptly fixed). They have a new couch (that I don't think is shown in the pictures - the new one is grey, not red) which was SO comfortable and perfect to read and relax on throughout the day. We enjoyed going for walks in the neighborhood and hiking in Westmoreland Park. Robert's place is also just a short drive away from the town of Colonial Beach, which was cute and fun to walk around. All in all, a lovely stay!

This place was great for a quick visit for a wedding in a close by town. Comfy beds and living room. I visited during an off season but imagine it is great for a family during later spring and summer

Thom’s place is quite the adorable little beach bungalow. Close walking distance to the water on either side of the point and walking distance to the Lighthouse, a local restaurant/bar. Everything was clean, bed was comfortable, and adequate kitchen supplies to do light cooking. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

This is the perfect cozy little house to enjoy this quaint little town. It was clean and sensible. I loved the crab decor being a Maryland girl myself. Thom has prepared for everything! We accidentally locked ourselves out but Thom had a quick solution so we didn’t even have to wait for him to come to our rescue. He gave us a bunch of tips for enjoying the area. The little bungalow had everything we needed for a girls get away. We are hopeful to return!

Kevin and JoAnn's place was a great place to stay for a quick weekend getaway. Their house was very clean and had all the amenities for cooking breakfast in the morning (and coffee!). The location is very close to one of the stops on the colonial beach trolley. They were very fast to respond to questions and attentive to make sure we got into the house ok and had everything we needed.

We very much enjoyed our time at Colonial Beach, the house is great and had everything we needed. Kevin and JoAnn were awesome and so helpful. We loved all the local restaurants (fried chicken at Ola’s, breakfast at Lenny’s, Nancy’s ice cream) and we spent a relaxing day at the beach. We bought inexpensive floating tubes at Dollar General and had a great day floating on the Potomac. Wonderful place to stay!

ATRC students stay here! This air bnb is a welcome escape from Dahlgren. Excellent full-sized kitchen with everything you need. Access to washer and dryer. Private patio with charcoal grill and water views. Off street parking for 2. Close to Denson’s and Dockside for Colonial Beach’s great seafood. Quiet, golf cart neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Melinda was a responsive, excellent host!!!

This is a special place. We really didn't know what to expect, but found a tremendously comfortable and inviting home. The pictures are very good and still don't do it justice. The style is minimal and comfortable and the flow of the house is perfect--the kitchen opens onto the living room which opens onto the deck, the yard, and the river. There's nothing like waking up to sunrise over the river, which is only about 50 yards from the door. It's well equipped for a family stay (note there is no TV or wifi) and Rachel provided use of kayaks and paddle boards, though you may want to bring some games or books for rainy days. The kitchen is pretty well equipped and there is a gas grill on the deck; Cobb Island restaurants are just a few minutes away, as well. Rachel was very communicative and responsive and provided great recommendations for the area. Thanks again for a wonderful stay, Rachel!

A lovely house with everything you need to have the perfect get away.

Only about an hour from DC, this quaint cottage is the perfect retreat or base for day trips into Washington. Sitting right on the bank of the Wicomico river, this open space updated home has beautiful views of the river where it meets the Potomac. Great for bird watching and star gazing. Throw out a spinner and catch a perch on just about every cast. There are a couple of great crab houses on nearby Cobb Island as well as a small grocery and cafe. A great place to relax and recharge your batteries.

This house is so lovely. We loved the simplicity of it, just three rooms with a beautiful open space where you can easily hang out and have conversation while prepping dinner/food. The space was nicely appointed, and the outdoor space is just amazing. We were there with a number of adults and two young children and everyone had a great time. Super relaxing, great amenities, has everything you need. Rachel was also an excellent host, very responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Exceeded expectations. Scenic property with stunning waterfront views from the entire back of the house. House was exactly as described (even better than we could have imagined). Everything is made convenient from check-in, gas grill, fire pit, fishing gear, kayaks, kitchen essentials and more. Perfect stay, superb host. The house was perfect for our family of four. Location was great, loved waking up and seeing the sun over the river. Can’t really say enough good things about Eddie’s cottage. It has all the amenities you need, full kitchen, super comfortable beds, super clean, there is a great restaurant right behind it , across the parking lot… You can see the bay from the bedroom window… It has everything you need… Two Blocks walk to the beach and to the colonial Beach brewery and other restaurants and shops… Such a cool, funky little town, people were super friendly… Eddie gave us a lot of great suggestions for places to go, and communication was excellent ...can’t wait to come back!

His outstanding hospitality and beautiful cottage was the perfect remedy my wife and I needed for a relaxing few days away from the hussle-n-bussel of NVA!! I highly recommend this property. Loved everything about this home. Location, cleanliness, decor, beds, truly and adorable home! Beds are super comfy, the whole house is nicely decorated and provides everything you’d need for your stay! Having access to the upper deck was a huge plus! The convenience of the golf cart rental being added to our stay was an extremely nice perk and we didn’t have to drive to pick them up, they were already there at the house! Can’t wait to stay again and see the finished results of the upstairs area!

YOLO cottage was so much more then we expected. We wanted a weekend to get away from times not so good at home and Debby provided that with her awesome cottage. She fitted us in right from the beginning.....which was amazing and much needed. Check in was so easy and simple. Her communication on minor items was quick . The cottage itself was cozy, bright, upscale in a cottage feeling. She left the charm of the vintage cottage with marvelous upgrades that made you feel as if you were at the Ritz often. We will definitely be back and recommend to all....

Why stay in the dives in LaPlata or Waldorf, when you can stay in a very quiet, private, and comfortable waterfront setting for about the same or less money? This room was very clean, well appointed, and the views are stunning! I plan to stay here whenever I travel to Southern Maryland to see my aging parents. Omar is an excellent host!

The house was exceptionally clean and it had all of the extras that you need for a perfect stay! Everything was furnished: towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, conditioner and the list goes on! There was a screened in porch, picnic table and fire pit to enjoy. We really felt like we were at the beach. Everything was perfect!

The house was just as described! Comfortable and clean just a stone's throw from the water. We hope to visit again soon!

The house was excellent and my family and I really enjoyed our stay. The house had a ton of character and even had views of the water. Every room was very clean and had charming decorative touches. We enjoyed fenced in patio area to visit with family staying down the road. This house is a great place to stay for anyone looking for a unique stay in a great location within Colonial Beach!

Loved staying at Gail's place! She and her husband were very kind and accommodating. Only downside was not having an in-place washer and dryer for extended stays.

Great location for a getaway on the water not far from DC & without having to deal with Bay Bridge traffic. The sunset views from the deck are amazing. And, the photos for the listing really don’t do the place justice — looks even better in person. They’ve created a really nice getaway spot.

This place is a true delight! It's really cute and spacious, and offers tons of opportunities to relax. We loved taking the kayaks out -- the place is right across from a dock so you can literally be in the water in minutes! So many great touches: the outdoor patio for lounging, the dock for watching the sunset, the fire pit for roasting s'mores. My husband and I needed to get away from the city and unplug, and we loved everything this place had to offer.

This was my first time using an air bnb so I was a bit iffy on how it would go but this was an absolutely amazing experience and I will definitely return. My boyfriend and I spent our anniversary here for a little quiet get away. I would 10/10 recommend any couple who wants to come out and have a quiet and beautiful view of the bay to come here. The guest house was easy to access and beautifully decorated. Gail left us a book of tips which was very helpful because I had never been to colonial beach. Overall this was a perfect getaway and a great stay.

Really great place to stay. Sad I couldn't stay longer. It really was a mini apartment. The host was delightful when we first met her and despite having a large pup, you never heard her. We wouldn't have known if she didn't tell us. The family was nice as well. Overall great experience!

Tammy was an amazing host. Very bubbly and so awesome to talk to. Truly felt like I had my own apartment being here. Great quiet area. Lots of privacy.

Rebecca’s place was Wonderful! The Host and her husband were one of the friendliest my wife and I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The farm is located on a Beautiful wooded and secluded setting where nature abounds. Deer, Eagles, and various birds. If you like being out in nature, in a very clean and beautiful residence, then this is the place!! Our dog loved it as much as my wife and I.

The place was sparkling clean and looked exactly like the photos. Location was perfect for Maryland International Raceway. Will definitely stay again next year.

I traveled to the area for a photography job & Rebecca’s place was the perfect stay! Very clean & the perfect spot to relax after a long day of work. My mother & I enjoyed the amenities, and my “city” dog thoroughly enjoyed playing in the leaves. Definitely recommend Rebecca - she’s a great host!

The property was awesome! The pictures really don't do it justice. There is a lot of room and it was very clean. I would recommend this to anyone going to MIR track because it's literally 10 minutes away if that. Thank you once again!

Our stay was great. Hosts were friendly and made us feel right at home. We used the pool to cool off after a hot day. Wish we could have stayed longer.
