Country Road Cottage is a quaint heritage Queenlander cottage on 2 acres, located only a short distance from Billabong Sanctuary (17klms south of Townsville). Perfect for couples, this one bedroom with ensuite bathroom and laundry, fully self contained with full kitchen, lounge and verandah overlooks lush tropical gardens and swimming pool. Enjoy the native birds, wallabies and country surrounds. Host lives in separate house on the same acreage. Continental breakfast supplies are provided.
Our Cottage has a lovely history. Originally it was the kitchen and maid's room of our Ravenswood built heritage house, (Habberley circa 1890's), and has been relocated independently on the property as a guests cottage.
  • Really lovely place to stay, exactly what we needed after a long day of driving. Cottage was great and Paula had made sure it was cool before we arrived. The eggs and continental breakfast was great in the morning too.

It was very clean, comfortable and homely, and the added touches of hospitality such as fresh eggs, milk and juice together with the coffee machine and other things enhanced our experience. We stayed for three nights but could easily have stayed longer; it was so relaxing. For anybody wanting to experience a rural lifestyle, this is the one to try. Paula and Bernie were very friendly and helpful but also let us enjoy the space in privacy. It provided great value for money in this price range.

Two of the bedrooms have access to the front balcony. The open plan living space features a separate lounge and dining area. There is a well-equipped kitchen that flows through to an outdoor alfresco area. A second area features a small lounge space complete with extra television and an office area at the other end.
    Privately positioned on a fully fenced block with a large sliding front gate. Off street parking is available for 3 cars. Internal laundry. Air-conditioned throughout.
    Centrally located. From the property you can drive to three major sopping centres (Kmart, Stockland and Vincent Village) in five minutes. Willows Shopping Centre is eight minutes away by car. James Cook University and Townsville General Hospital are also within a ten minute drive.
  • A beautiful home Maureen & Hugh have got on Charles street, the check in was very thorough through the house made sure we knew where everything was. My partner had an accident on her knee which Maureen & Hugh kindly picked me up to get the car late evening and drive back to hospital as I wasn’t sure where it was which was great. They were friendly and polite towards us. We felt towards the end asking to extend our stay 3 times with not a definitive answer given back that we had to leave as we had no where else to go. That was the only negative we could say. Apart from that beautiful house and a nice stay. Good Hosts.

  • Maureen’s place is huge / great for long stays also - common spaces are clean, practical and cosy (kitchen with cooking ustensiles and basics, living room with TV and Netflix, terrace..) My room was upstairs and the bed was so soft. Could have spend my day in it. It is close to the city but better have a car. Parking spot on site. Fans and AC everywhere and silent enough to leave it at night. Very practical for me to visit Magnetic island. Would totally recommend the place. Maureen is a very thoughtful host and shows you all the key thinks of her place.

  • was so lovely little quiet cosy cottage for the night. The oven door wasn’t closing properly and we noticed burns on the side of the cupboards. Apart from that was really nice to have a bath and rest. The cleaning fee was a bit expensive we thought. perhaps the place could be a bit cheaper than $133 for one night. Although Mandy and her family were very friendly and helpful!! also we asked for a late check which was 2pm, Mandy had no problem with :) Thanks !

    I don't mind if you smoke outside. The back yard is locked and secure for pets.
    I have good neighbours in a quiet suburb.
  • From the moment I arrived at Glen's I felt right at home. Glen is such an amazing host, very kind, thoughtful and generous. It was great to chat with him and his other guests over a game of pool. The house itself is very spacious, clean and has a very comfortable bed. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and obviously would highly recommend anyone looking for a place to stay to get in contact with Glen.

    It's a cosy miners cottage. If you're looking for a place to sleep after a big day of touring maggie island or cooking at the strand then this is the place.

It's a 10 minute walk to the strand, and about a 15 minute walk to Coles, the cafe's of Gregory Street and trendy beach bar's.
    Air-conditioned bedroom with a Queen size bed on a recycled pallet frame. The townhouse is split level, with two bedrooms upstairs along with the bathroom, and kitchen, lounge and laundry downstairs. There is an outdoor patio area downstairs, with fairy lights to admire when sipping a G&T. The kitchen is fully functional, with everything there to cook a perfect meal. Fridge and freezer space will be shared (with me). If guests have a car, they can park in the visitor parking of my complex. There is also additional parking on the street. INTERNET nbn available. LINEN All fresh linen and towels are provided. You're welcome to use the washing machine. WALKING TRAILS and SWIMMING 5 minutes to the castle hill base track 15 minutes to the ethno-botanical trail 15 minutes to the swimming nets on the Strand GROCERIES Coles on Gregory Street is a 15 minute walk, or 3 minute drive. Woolworths on Flinders Street is a 5 minute drive. BAKERY Bakehouse on Eyre is a 15 minute walk and does great coffee, freshly baked pastries and donuts too!

    Come and stay in a traditional North Queensland Pub in one of the towns oldest suburbs, South Townsville. Just off the highway near the hospital and uni, restaurants & cafes, buses, the Ross River and Riverway Park and pools, Willows Shopping Centre, Cannon Park Cinemas, laser tag, indoor karting, indoor sports centre, roller skating. Our place is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, uni students on placement, hospital workers, patients or placement students, business travellers, and families (with kids).
    We are in a quiet, tidy neighbourhood and we have great neighbours. From here you can walk to cinemas, restaurants and cafes, the river walking/bike paths, the free Riverway Lagoon pools, Townsville's largest shopping centre, and more. We are about 20 mins from the city and beach, 10 mins from the Murray Sports Complex, and just a few mins from the Cowboys Smiles Stadium.

The city has lots to see and fantastic shopping centres. The section of the house we had was well appointed with everything we needed just remember to bring your own hair drier. The location suited us well as our son was doing a week long intensive third year course at the university while we holidayed All in all the accomodation was clean, ample and affordable.

And lots of alfresco bars. You are staying in the city precinct of North Queensland's largest town, so there can be traffic noise at night and early in the morning. The room is quiet if you close the windows and optionally have the ceiling fan on low, you are likely to have an undisturbed night.

Easy drive to airport and city centre, 500m to Stockland Department and K Mart stores, 2 min walk parks and Ross River walking tracks, cheeky kookaburras. turtles and wallabies.
    This pristine, secure & serene home in Cranbrook has a fully equipped kitchen. Renovated in March 2020 with new air conditioners, blinds, fans, bedroom flooring and all new linen it also boasts a spacious updated kitchen and bathroom. The main living area and all bedrooms look out to a lush tropical private garden (North and East) and a fish pond on the south side. With plenty of storage, this home is perfect for short, medium or long stays for singles, couples, professionals, families and small groups. All guests will need to be respectful of noise expectations for the long term neighbours nearby. There is a queen bed in the main bedroom and a double bed in brm 2&3.     This neighbourhood is handy to everything! A 10 min walk to two large shopping centres, doctor, chemists, Mac Donalds, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Subway and Pizza takeaway outlets. 5 minute drive to JCU and Townsville General Hospital and just a few more minutes to the beach. Handy to the highway. The neighbours are mostly long term locals, of varying ages and will take the time to stop and say hello if they see you. Need a bit of fresh air? Then take a 2 min walk to the Ross River path where wild wallabies roam freely, lots of pelicans and ducks on the water waiting to be fed and friendly if not thieving cheeky kookaburra's wanting to share your picnic lunch. Fishermen hungry for barramundi tend to be a few minutes downstream by car. There is a 6 and 12 km walk/bike circuit for the energetic. Or, why not enjoy a 10 minute walk to Townsville's beautiful Palmetium Gardens where one can feed the turtles and maybe spot the Ulysses butterfly.

    This downstairs room is perfect for a student studying a short course at James Cook Uni, doing a placement at the Townsville Hospital, or someone who has short term work in Townsville.
    This house is mostly a share house and houses students. There is 1 permanent student in this downstairs unit. She will be able to assist you if you need any help or direction! It's almost turned into its own little community of friends from overseas, as most of the housemates are international students. This downstairs unit is self contained with everything you need for your stay. There is also an upstairs unit which has it's own access, kitchen & living area… there are 4 friendly Medical students living there! This is the best place to be situated as there are so many things to do around the local area! It is situated close to the University, the hospital & 1 km from Stockland Shopping Centre. If you want to get out and about a bus stop is about a 3-5 min walk from the house. It is also very close to the beautiful Ross River, that has many scenic walking and pushbike riding tracks.
    It's so close to JCU, yet far enough to feel your not actually living there! All the neighbours are quiet, so its a peaceful neighbourhood.

    You never know who you might meet. I have 3 rooms in my house that I BnB to guests. It can be quite the multicultural destination at times . People who love people will have a good time
    I love that it's only a short walk down to the river walkway. Lots of wildlife can be seen including fireflies at the right time of year

  • Yvonne's place is an absolutely excellent place to stay. The best airbnb we've stayed in so far. She had a welcoming food pack which was just what our family needed after our long journey. The place was spotless, modern and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Located in a quiet street with large established garden and 2 verandas. A Queenslander. I am German and do speak it as well. I work with Queensland education and live in the house on my own. My hobbies are visual arts, gardening, travel and my grandson..
    The house is a Queenslander with 4 bedrooms and 1 front veranda and 1 back veranda. It has a large established tropical garden. 5 minute walk to Rowes Bay waterfront and a lovely board walk along the shore to the strand and the rock pool . Minute walk to bus stop, shops and a restaurant . To hire a car is at the end of my street, cheaper than the airport hire.
    I moved into this house 28 years ago. I love my neigborhood, the closeness of the beach, the walking tracks to castle hill from home and the quietness of the street. A renowned birdwatching area close by as is a superb golf field along the shore. Living in a oasis 5 mins by car from the CBD of Townsville.

  • My stay at Ruth‘s beautiful home was a classic Airbnb experience! Ruth is a charming and generous host, and her Queenslander house, just a few blocks walk from Townsville’s extensive shorefront linear park, was exactly what I was looking for: to experience the classic residential architecture of the region. I stayed four nights, wish I had stayed longer (due to the comfort and how much I liked Townsville), but Magnetic Island was drawing me on :-). My room at Ruth’s was comfortable, beautiful and private. Her front and rear verandas are sweet, especially in the back overlooking her jungle garden. She was a great source of local information. I had a fine time walking and bicycling along the coastline and downtown. I was welcomed to do a bit of cooking in her charming kitchen. You’re going to love staying with Ruth!

    2 Share houses. Single rooms for rent by the room. We are close to James Cook University and hospital. Perfect for block training or family of hospital patients. Both homes are clean, quiet and friendly. Fenner St house has 7 rooms (3 upstairs 4 downstairs Verhoeven Drive House 4 rooms. Both houses are clean and quiet excellent for those wanting to study, or be close to the hospital. All the necessities of home are there available for use.
    We offer 2 homes away from home, where guests and their processions can be safe & secure. Where they know they can get a good nights sleep, without the thought of wild parties or loud noise. Fenner St house has 3 rooms upstairs and 4 downstairs. Rooms are rented individually, we do not rent the house as a whole house. The master bedrooms have queen size beds (these rooms are the only rooms available for 2 people, Rate is $60 for two people per night. All the other rooms have one single bed and are for one person per room . Each level has its own kitchen living, kitchen and bathroom facilities. There is a large washing machine available for tenants. Wifi internet and kitchen utensils. Each room has its own key, for safety and security.. The Second house 200 meters away is Verhoeven Drive Douglas. A low set 4 bedroom home, again it has wifi, and the normal facilities of a running home. The houses are rented by the room to predominantly students attending James Cook University or training at Townsville General Hospital because of the proximity to both. Some stay with us for just a couple of weeks whilst doing block training, some a full semester and some their whole degree. We have a variety of students both Australian and international and enjoy meeting them and the interactions of the homes. Air-condtioning is on coin timers or metered. Owners do not live at the house. but are available by phone should a room tenant require assistance
    The neighborhood is quiet, as its an older suburb, majority of homes are either mature owner occupied or homes for students.

The city of townsville is not too far . The airport is not far either . It’s in the heart of where is everything in townsville

  • Lovely place to stay. Lovely and quiet, Suzi wasn’t in for long but we were able to still cook and use her kitchen which was very nice with lots of utensils. Air conditioning was also lovely in the bedroom and all the rooms. We arrived mid day and was in the private pool till the late evening. Cannot complain.
