The space
The Rumah Hujan Estate consists of two villas and a badminton pavilion surrounded by abundant nature providing privacy between each house while maintaining a harmonious unity. The villas are set in jungle gardens with two heated, mild saltwater pools as well as extensive terraces with views across the gardens and the jungle valley by river Wos, facing the sacred Campuhan ridge.
Every corner of this 2,400-square-meter estate has been thoughtfully crafted to offer comfort and calm, from the volcanic stones and reclaimed timbers to the seamless integration of nature into its design. Cared for by a dedicated team of 12 staff—including butlers, housekeepers, and a villa manager—Rumah Hujan Estate is more than a destination: it’s a place to belong.
RUMAH HUJAN (The House of Rain)
Where the jungle meets the sky.
A refined 3-bedroom villa, perched on the edge of the Wos River, immersed in nature facing the sacred Campuhan Ridge. This house is a tribute to tranquility, where soft linen curtains move with the breeze, and reclaimed wood whispers stories of the past. This house features a spacious open-plan living area, a hand-carved dining table, and a heated infinity pool, perfect for gazing into the misty valley at dawn.

On a property of 2,400 sqm, the house itself and in addition to extensive outdoor patios and a 12 x 4 meter heated infinity pool, the house itself has a floor surface of approximately 300 sqm.The living-room and dining-room share a lofty open space of 60 sqm and the 3 bedrooms:
Living and Dining Area:
The heart of the villa features an open-plan space furnished with oversized linen sofas and a hammock for relaxation. A dining table seating ten offers a perfect setting for communal meals.
Bedrooms (all with air-conditioning):
Melati (Bedroom One):
Measuring 23 square meters, this room boasts a queen-size bed (180 cm x 200 cm) draped with a linen mosquito net. Guests can enjoy sunrise views over the pool, garden, and jungle. The en-suite bathroom includes an outdoor rain shower, immersing guests in the natural surroundings.
Rimba (Bedroom Two):
At 25 square meters, Rimba features a king-size bed (200 cm x 200 cm) under a canopy roof. The room’s interiors reflect its natural environment with hardwood floors and woven wardrobes. An outdoor shower enhances the connection to nature.
Raja (Bedroom Three):
The most private of the bedrooms, Raja spans 22 square meters and is surrounded on three sides by glass, offering an immersive nature experience. It includes a king-size bed (200 cm x 200 cm), a walk-in wardrobe, and an en-suite bathroom with both an indoor bathtub and an outdoor shower.
Outdoor Amenities:
A large timber deck accompanies a 12x4 meter heated, mild saltwater infinity pool that overlooks the valley below, providing a tranquil space to unwind.
RUMAH SENJA (The House of Twilight)
A hidden retreat among the trees.
Some homes are meant to be discovered. Rumah Senja is one of them. A reclaimed Javanese Joglo, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows, it rises among the treetops—a home designed to embrace the changing light of the day. Accessed via a wooden bridge you find the private lofted studio (Sebun Kedis or Bird’s Nest), complete with a secluded terrace overlooking the jungle. This home is an invitation to linger—on the terrace with a book, in the pool beneath the rustling palms, or in the central atrium, where the ceilings stretch nearly 30 feet high.
OVERVIEW RUMAH SENJA
Spanning 375 square meters, across two floors, featuring a separate loft, three expansive terraces, a private pool, and panoramic jungle views.
Living and Dining Area:
A central atrium rises 9 meters to a traditional woven ceiling, adorned with oversized Balinese lamps. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame panoramic views, and a dining table seating ten ensures memorable dining experiences.

Bedroom One:
Covering 35 square meters, this room includes a king-size bed (200 cm x 200 cm), a semi-outdoor shower, and a terrace with sunrise views over the pool, garden, and jungle.
Bedroom Two:
At 40 square meters, this bedroom features a king-size bed, semi-outdoor shower, and terrace, also offering sunrise views.
Sebun Kedis (Bedroom Three):
A secluded 75-square-meter suite with a queen-size bed (180 cm x 200 cm), kitchenette, dining and living area, indoor bath and shower, and a private terrace with garden and jungle vistas.
Outdoor Amenities:
The villa boasts a 13x4 meter heated, mild saltwater pool nestled among bamboo, coconut trees, and ferns, providing a serene environment for relaxation.

The estate shares common access, parking, security and the bamboo pavilion.

Tucked away in a gorgeous natural setting off the main road, Rumah Hujan Estate is located about 2.5km from Ubud centre and close enough to walk to some of Ubud’s finest dining spots and shops.
DESIGN
All villa architecture and interiors as well as landscaping have been created by Studio Jenquel. The studio draws on the principles of slow design, utilising adaptive and sustainable approaches. The badminton pavilion was created by Studio Jenquel together with Ibuku, renowned for their groundbreaking designs using bamboo.

Daily housekeeping ensures that your surroundings remain fresh and inviting, with water jugs replenished and beds turned down in the evening.
Laundry services are available through a trusted local provider. While we facilitate the process, we cannot take responsibility for the final result. Clothes are returned neatly pressed in woven wicker baskets, in keeping with the estate’s understated elegance.
Sensatia Botanicals body care products, crafted in Bali from all-natural ingredients, are placed in each bathroom, enhancing the experience of outdoor showers and deep, restorative baths.

The kitchen at Rumah Hujan Estate is not a restaurant—it is an extension of home. Meals are not simply prepared; they are crafted with care, using seasonal ingredients from local markets and organic gardens. Dining here is communal and intentional, meant to be shared and savored without hurry.
