This detached house is ideal for those who enjoy a healthy (URL HIDDEN) has a lush flower garden, a small, chemical-free vegetable garden, where vegetables and herbs are grown according to permaculture principles and methods. The house is located in a calm, quiet street in the outskirts of Funchal, a 10 minute-car drive or a 25-minute bus drive from Funchal downtown, in a rural area with a few scattered houses, amidst patches of banana plantations and farms. Access to regular public transportation is ensured. There is a big shopping centre nearby.
Guests are allowed to pick fresh organic produce from the house’s own garden, whenever the yield is abundant, and to leave a symbolic donation to help support the garden’s maintenance. Chard, celery, oregano, parsley, basil, beetroot, and cabbage leaves are some of the usual crops.
We are in touch with local organic and biological food suppliers, and with organic vegetarian catering services.

We cherish a simple, sustainable and eco-friendly life-style. The house is equipped with solar panels and we select our garbage and make our own organic compost.
The bedsteads in this room (a double-bed and a single-bed) and the TV stand set up have been made from recycled wood. The single bed can be used as a sofa.
The guests have access to the kitchen, which is equipped with all the essentials. Sharing the kitchen with the owners offers an opportunity to be in touch with local habits, customs and life-styles.

I am friendly and helpful. I appreciate a simple life , quiet, country setting . I like being at home , deal with the land , enjoy the flowers , delight me with the baths of sun and sea.
