Where you’ll be

Malpaís, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica

We are the second to last house at the end of Justin's road. There is a coded gate entrance shared by only 5 homes. The road ends at the house above us. This ensures a secure and peaceful private stay on a very quiet road.

Mal Pais and Santa Teresa are on the Nicoya Peninsula and were only discovered by the “surfing fraternity” 15 years ago and they still remain a secret to most. The sleepy fishing hamlet of Mal Pais is a short walk away and here you can join a fishing boat to catch Tuna, Mahi Mahi or Black Mackerel, all ideal for eating back at the Casita or you can enjoy exploring the coastline towards the Caco Blanco.

Santa Teresa is a happening and bustling town that stretches along the beach scattered with numerous fantastic restaurants serving world class food, “organic and fresh” is the order of the day.

Surf is always up in Santa Teresa, with world famous beaches that go on for miles with soft white sand and a jungle backdrop. Here the beginner can learn to surf, whilst those more proficient can enjoy challenging waves, to unwind there are yoga and spa opportunities.

For the adventurous there are ATV’s to explore the rugged countryside, canopy tours, horse-riding in the moonlight, waterfalls to explore and hiking in the National Park to picnic on the beach.
