Where you’ll be

Newry, Mourne and Down, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

You will find that The Stable Yard is in a very tranquil spot in Co Down but still very centrally located. Just 30 minutes from Belfast and the market town of Downpatrick is about 3 miles away with supermarkets, independent retailers and excellent hospitality venues. The village of Crossgar is also within 3 miles with many eateries and shops to cater for your needs. Within a 20 minute walking distance from your accommodation you will find a delightful tearooms and farm shop supplying local, artisan produce, fresh bakes from their on site bakery and amazing freshly cooked food including afternoon tea!
There are many excellent Blue Flag beaches, golf courses and forest parks within a short drive and the magnificent Mourne Mountains and the beautiful seaside resort of Newcastle are just 20 minutes away. We are, of course, centrally located for St Patricks countryside and "Game of Thrones" film locations such as the National Trust property of Castleward which is the location for" Winterfell". Inch Abbey is a 5 minute drive, or even a walk or cycle from your accommodation. Another "Game of Thrones" film location worth a visit. Lecale area offers excellent cycling routes from your door and many of the mountain bike tracks are within an easy drive.

During your stay

As hosts you will find that we are on hand the majority of the time as your accommodation is located within our equestrian yard, just a few metres from our own home. We do, however, like to give our guests their own space and privacy so you have your own entrance, a private garden and self check in and check out. We can be reached before, during and after your stay by text, phone or email.
We do have horses on our yard and we welcome our guests to interact with them but they are competition horses and so, for your safety, probably best to get close up when some of the family are about.
