The space
The perfect holiday spot for one or more families, our beautiful home is well equipped for a luxurious yet family friendly holiday.
Set in the heart of Lake Michelle, a secure, gated eco-estate, the house is located right on the main lake with stunning views across the lake to the mountains.
Noordhoek, where Lake Michelle is located, is one of Cape Town's treasures. This beautiful, rural neighbourhood is an idyllic spot for family holidays. 5 minutes from the white sands of Long Beach, the picnic areas at Cape Point Vineyards, the restaurants, shops and play area at Noordhoek Farm Village and Sleepy Hollow Riding Centre, and a short drive to the stunning hiking trails of Silvermine Nature Reserve, you have plenty on your door step to keep everyone entertained.
An easy 30 minute drive will take you to Cape Point Nature Reserve (the south-western most tip of Africa), wine tasting in the famous Constantia vineyards, the quaint fishing villages of Hout Bay, Kalk Bay and Simonstown or, our son's favourite, the penguins at Boulder's Beach.
If that's not enough, hike up iconic Table Mountain and Lions Head or visit the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Explore downtown Cape Town or hit the shops at the world famous Waterfront. All less than 45 minutes away.
The house itself is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could need during your stay. It has a private, solar heated pool (with safety cover), jetty on the lake, outdoor Jacuzzi, indoor spa baths, gas BBQ, trampoline, canoe and paddle ski. There are two adults and two children's bicycles available for use withing the estate.
We have recently installed solar panels, an inverter and a battery to provide back up power as South Africa is currently facing rolling electricity cuts.
The living space has a high quality HD, 55-inch LED TV, DSTV, surround sound home cinema audio system and a well-stocked bookcase with board games, magazines and books. Free high speed wifif is included.
A travel cot and high chair are available for our little guests and stair gates have been installed. Please note that the lake is unfenced. Babysitting can be arranged upon request.
Cleaning is available 5 days a week along with reasonable personal laundry. This is included in the daily rate. Ashleigh is our lovely housekeeper and will be in Monday to Friday from 8.30am till 4pm.
This is our home away from home. We spend as much time here as we can and leave it in the capable hands of our manager, Pat, when we are not. She lives on the estate and is just around the corner to ensure that you have a wonderful stay. She will be happy to help you with anything extra you may need and to share a few secret spots that the locals love.
It's best to hire a car when visiting Cape Town. The roads are excellent and easy to navigate. If you would prefer not to do your own driving, we can arrange a car and driver for you instead.
