The space
The cottage for families with horses and dog in the countryside. Which rider wouldn't want to go on vacation with your horses? Samow makes it possible.

For the people a quaint house (120m2) with 2 bedrooms with double bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 2 bathrooms, an entrance hallway, a large dining and kitchen area and a magnificent living room with old beam construction.

For the horses directly afterwards, a stable of 80m2 with 2 boxes of 12m2 each.

The stable can also be reached through a direct door from the house. It has an exit to the back of the paddock.

A few meters in front of the front entrance a thick cross beam to connect the horses.

In the stable, a tap with hose connection.

Of course, we also like to rent the cottage to guests without horses! The property is surrounded by large lawns and the paddock behind the house. If there are no horses, sheep graze there.

Architecture & History Architecture The Samow manor house is like many other manor houses in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the Baroque (phone number hidden by Airbnb). It received a classicist overforming (phone number hidden by Airbnb). In opposition to the exuberant form language of the Rococo and Baroque, strict, block-like structures with smooth walls and a clear elegant line emerged. The technical execution of the stonemasonry, stucco and woodwork testifies to the utmost care and the highest quality (website hidden by Airbnb) This "construction boom" was the result of the industrialization of agriculture. Open-minded, modern landlords achieved great economic successes through the intensification of the field economy and the technization of animal husbandry, which were also reflected in their construction activities: in addition to the construction of large barns and stable buildings, they had their manor house – as well as in Samow – representative transformation. The plastered two-storey rectangular structure has eleven axes, a flat pedestal and a high rolling roof. The Hoffassade was divided by simple dazzling jewelry, colossal-irons frame the two outer axes. On the back, they appear as a weak risalite. The estate is still clearly visible. Obtained are the two-storey, much lower farm cultivation on the left narrow side of the manor house, the ice-cell, the depot where the farm restaurant is located today, the cowshed, opposite another stable building and the Stellmacherhaus. The pigsty has expired, all the rest of the stables, stores, etc. have disappeared. The originally French-designed gardens that surrounded the mansion have been transformed into an open English-style landscape park with lots of old wood, new plantings and open spaces. History The early German tower hill castle in the park indicates a settlement of the village 800 years ago. According to a plan of (phone number hidden by Airbnb), there was a central building on the oval hill surrounded by a wide water-bearing ditch. From the end of the 15th to the end of the 18th century, Samow was the seat of the von Moltke family, which belongs to the Uradel Mecklenburg and whose roots date back to the 13th century. (phone number hidden by Airbnb) was sold, as the landlord was overwhelmed with the management after the death of her husband and at the same time had to feed numerous children – including Friedrich von Moltke, father of General Field Marshal Helmuth von Moltke (phone number hidden by Airbnb) Friedrich "had soon used up the small fortune that had fallen from the sale of the family estate Samow, located at Ribnitz in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, and then married Henriette Paschen, the daughter ... of a Lübeck merchant, married, ..." (v. Poten) In the next 20 years, the estate changed hands four times until the Rostock Senator family Boldt bought the property (phone number hidden by Airbnb). Wilhelm Boldt set up the estate as a summer seat. (phone number hidden by Airbnb) was acquired by Polier Samow from France. Polier's have been at home in some European countries as well as in India in the course of the centuries. Until the Second World War, Maximin von Polier led the estate as an exemplary agricultural company. (phone number hidden by Airbnb), the family had to flee with the consequences of the war (phone number hidden by Airbnb) his grandson Marc von Polier could claim back the run-down house.
