Available from 3rd July , The Duck House is an open plan hand built wooden cabin situated in front of one of our lakes beside our beautiful woodland and in our private wildlife sanctuary. With views directly onto the lake it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the countryside. It is beautifully equipped with a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom and has everything you will need for a long or short stay. Well behaved dog friendly.

The space
Located on a working farm,The Duck House has been decorated with your surroundings in mind. It reflects the wildlife, flora and fauna that surrounds you as soon as you arrive but with all the modern essentials you need to enjoy your stay. We have designed the space to be able to incorporate a full cooker and oven and fridge freezer. It is double glazed with full electric heating. There is a large covered balcony with seating and a charcoal BBQ. The french doors open straight out onto the lake and you can enjoy walking in our private wildlife sanctuary straight from your door.. We have one other cabin on the property which is not in sight or sound of the Duck House.

Guest access
As well as the woods and lakes guests will have access to our family owned working farm and pasture land. We raise rare breed pigs ,goats and sheep and board horses and we are always on hand to introduce you to the animals and explain our animal management practices to you. There are almost always piglets about and many of our animals enjoy human company. We can advise on when and where to catch sight of the deer and wild birds and waterfowl and will always be happy to explain their habits.

Other things to note
We will always try to meet guests personally and show you in (covid restrictions allowing). During lambing season please keep dogs on a lead near the livestock. Entry to the property is via a locked gate and guests will be given a key.

Check out our other beautiful cabin. The Deer Leap is situated on one of our other lakes but not within sight or sound of The Duck House. Designed for 4 people and has all the same amenities and facilities as The Duck House but on a larger scale.

We are a family run farm and take great pride in the way we raise and house our animals in this beautiful setting. As a family we look forward to hosting our guests at The Deer Leap and have developed our farm to inform guests who wish to get involved about not only the farm animals but the wildlife that lives here. We are passionate about sustainable farming and preserving our wildlife. However for those guests who wish to relax and reset and just enjoy the setting we will always ensure absolute privacy.
