This luxury Villa, Tatamoana (2 bedrooms with ensuites) sits nestled in an abundance of native bush overlooking Lake Taupo’s picturesque Mine bay. Within a private estate, guests enjoy peace, privacy and refuge in our luxury accommodation. Your stay includes access to double tennis courts, two boat harbours and native bush walks. The beauty of New Zealand’s largest lake, the Ngātoroirangi Mine Bay Māori Rock Carvings and the surrounding mountains sit at the doorstep.

The space
A pergola-topped deck and glassed-in great room command lake and mountain views from this modern retreat on 58 private acres at the heart of New Zealand’s North Island. Stretch out in a sun-dappled lap pool or soak in bathtubs hidden behind fern fronds. Or take advantage of the short drive to outdoor activities around Taupo and hike forested trails, cycle around the lake, and fish for local trout.

Look down on Lake Taupo’s Mine Bay from outdoor living areas with a swimming pool, lounging and dining areas, and a barbecue, then finish the day in front of the indoor gas fireplace, sound system, and Wi-Fi. An espresso machine will fuel all your holiday adventures, and laundry facilities will help you start with fresh gear.

Fold back the glass walls on three sides of the great room to enjoy the luxury of one seamless indoor-outdoor living area. Wicker sofas and farmhouse-style ladderback chairs lend a rustic feel to the living and dining areas, while a vaulted ceiling gives the fully equipped kitchen a bright, airy appeal.

The two private bedrooms at this vacation rental are set on either side of the great room. Each one has a king bed, en-suite bathroom with a honeymoon-suite-worthy glassed-in tub, and access to a shared terrace; the master also has lake views.

The Point Villa Tatamoana offers swimming / kayak access to the Ngātoroirangi Mine Bay Māori Rock Carvings, which tower over Mine Bay, and is just a short drive from Huka Falls, where Lake Taupo spills over in a rush of blue water. There are plenty of hiking and cycling routes in the area, or you can drive to downtown Taupo for a family dinner or a tasting at a local winery with friends.
