My place is an awesomely located quirky, cozy, secure & light filled top floor walk-up apartment superbly located at tram stop number 35 on the #5 & #64 tram-line with Chapel Street, Carlisle Street & Windsor Train Station close by. These popular hangouts as well as St Kilda Beach & the CBD are easily accessed by foot or public transport with tram & bus services at the front door. EACH ROOM has a great view of the surroundings in this lively, eclectic community from it's perched position.

The space
This quirky Art Deco apartment is in Heritage Landmark Building which is superbly located near the Windsor end of Chapel Street with Carlisle Street an easy tram ride away. It's on the top floor. This 3 bedroom walk-up has an amazing and unique perspective of it's surroundings from it's perched position. Light fills every room with one bedroom (purple door) in the front and the remaining two bedrooms (green door & blue door) located down the stairs with the bathroom in between. Each bedroom door has it's own lock for privacy and extra security if needed

Guest access
Please note: When booking for one or two people (a couple or two individuals), only the required number of bedroom/s for sleeping will be available unless discussed with the host in advance. The bedroom/s not required for sleeping will be locked and inaccessible.

Guests can access the rest of apartment during their stay.

Car space: There is a single allocated narrow car space if needed with the access to the car park off Johnson Street which has access points off Hotham and Pilley Street off Dandenong Road.
If this car space is not suitable for your vehicle, there is ample street parking immediately surrounding the property - especially in Pilley Street, Johnson Street and Dandenong Road (clearway between 7.30am - 9.30am inbound Monday - Friday) - please check all parking signs for clarity.parking is provided on the driveway side by side.

The property has great security. Restricted keys are allocated for both the common area and the apartment itself.
Please don't lose the key or forget to leave it behind as there is a hefty fee of AUD$550.00 to replace them. This is what it'll cost me as the security of the building is paramount given it's vibrant community location.

Coin laundromat laundry facilities are available at the Windsor Laundry on the ground floor. There is laundry detergent in the bathroom in the bottom drawer for you to use. Each bedroom has a drying stand under the bed for you to use. Please replace it and tie the arm of the rack down with the plastic ties provided for storage ease.

Other things to note
There are two entrances into the common area of the property. The front entrance from Dandenong Road and the back entrance from the car park. The restricted common area key is needed to open these doors and gates. The doors will lock firmly so make sure you have your key so as not to get locked out.
The rubbish/trash cans (regular and recycling) are in the car park, please remember to bring your key with you if you're putting out the rubbish/trash so you don't get locked out.

Location

Saint Kilda East, Victoria, Australia

St Kilda East is a fantastic little pocket of parks, cafe's, train stations, art deco apartments, houses and town residences full of artistic and professional types. St Kilda East sits between the Nepean Highway and Orrong Road and is bordered by Dandenong Road to the north and Glen Eira Road to the south. East St Kilda is bordered by St Kilda, Windsor, Prahran, Armadale, Caulfield, North Caulfield, Ripponlea and the precinct also known as Balaclava next to Elsternwick. The best coffee in Melbourne can be found on Carlisle Street along with a great variety of dining options. It is impossible to get bored in St Kilda East. There are beautiful parks, playgrounds, quirky shops and the beach is a twenty minute walk. It's a family friendly neighbourhood, although at night there is a more colourful side of life that emerges. All walks of life live in harmony in St Kilda East. I love that it's quiet but full of opportunity and creative people with positive energy. It's very friendly and very eclectic. Oh, did I mention the best coffee in town is in St Kilda East?

Melbourne, Australia is my adopted city and country. It's home. Born in the USA, my family moved to Germany at a young age where we stayed for nine years before moving to Australia when I was in my early teens. I have experience in hospitality having worked full time for two years as Concierge in one of Melbourne's 5 star hotels. My husband was also born overseas - in Bucharest, Romania. After escaping the former communist regime, he lived in both Germany and France before finally settling in Australia in his early 20's. Both of us, having lived in many different countries as well as having traveled a bit, love exploring and experiencing a new place. We also appreciate the importance what a great location and amenity can offer when visiting a place for a while or a short time. Between us we can speak 5 languages - English, German, Romanian, French and Italian to varying levels of ability, if it helps you out. We hope you book in and enjoy your stay in our cool apartment and get to love our adopted city of Melbourne as much as we do. Both of us are rowing Commonwealth Games Gold and Olympic Bronze medalists - ironically.....for Australia. Rowing is still very much part of our lives. We're very active in the local rowing community and operate the only private rowing school in Australia called Rowing School Victoria - it's been located on the stunning Yarra River since 2007. We love it. We're generally up and about or nearby the apartment. We spend quite a bit of time coaching our rowing students as we ride our bikes alongside them on the stretch of river that runs from Princes Bridge in the City, to just past Chapel Street, South Yarra. We'll be easily available via mobile, email, text or in person if needed.
