The O’Keeffe Suite is a quiet private art-filled bedroom and bathroom in the front of my home. Since you will be sharing the house with me, please take time to read the full listing for what is included and the house rules. This is a nonsmoking house and property. The house is a Southwest style adobe home near UNM on the western edge of the Nob Hill neighborhood. It is a great place to land after a busy day. I have added extra disinfection for safety during the era of covid risk. Stay healthy!

The space
This suite is in the front of a 1925 adobe home— one of the first in Albuquerque to be built with a concrete foundation. Your private suite includes a bedroom with closet and private bathroom. The bedroom has a high beamed ceiling. The bathroom has an old fashioned cast iron tub with shower. Guests enter off the living room close to the front door. There is WIFI high speed internet. The room has heat and A/C with your own control, so you can choose a temperature to your liking. There is a mini fridge and microwave in the closet.

The house is on the west side of Nob Hill, close enough to the University to walk to performances and other activities. Many restaurants, brew pubs, coffee shops, a small movie theatre, and La Mantanita Food Coop are in walking distance. Driving, it is about 7 minutes to the I-25 freeway, 20 minutes to the Balloon Fiesta Park, and 15 minutes to Old Town. It is less than 10 minutes drive to the airport. I have taken Uber to the airport and gotten door to gate in 20 minutes! It is, also, a 20 minute drive to hiking and mountain biking trails in the foothills of the Sandia. City bus stops are close.

This is perfect for a single person or a couple. Quite private. My bedroom is in the rear of the house close to another bathroom. It is possible to accommodate a third adult at the foot of the bed for an additional charge.

There is easy street parking at the front.

It has a cozy queen bed with fine cotton sheets, a down comforter, fleece blanket, and plenty of pillows. On the walls there are O’Keeffe prints and a Navaho hand-woven rug. There are glasses and a Brita filtered water pitcher. There is a roll top desk with four spacious drawers with a salt lamp on top and a couple of chairs and small table.

I am available for local recommendations and to help make your stay comfortable. Welcome.

I love living here because my place is so convenient to things and I can walk to many of them. I walk to Hyder Park early most mornings. I love being among the big elm trees. I enjoy the variety of houses and landscaping. Restaurants, the food coop, a supermarket, and other shops are within walking. And, it is a quick car trip to the trail system in the Sandia. I could hike all day there. I love seeing the mountains in their many moods as I walk. And, there’s a big clear blue sky, often with beautiful clouds, that turn amazing colors at sunset and sunrise. It feels good to come home and see my trees and cactus flourishing.

Hi, I am Jim. I moved here in February, 2018, after living in the San Francisco area for most of 40 years. I love this area because of the interesting city, great restaurants and opportunities to dance, a great neighborhood for walking and friendly neighbors, close to trails for hiking on the river and the mountains. And, if I want to get out of town, highways are close and the airport is so easy to navigate. I love to travel. I like Airbnb because I get to be more like a local and meet people. Offering Airbnb is great; the world travels to me! And, I get to meet great people.
