You’ll have the cottage to yourself.
This ancient cottage lies on the edge of a village with a good pub and beautiful church; it's in a beautiful rural setting. It's 10 miles from the Aldeburgh coastline and 6 miles from the concert hall at Snape Maltings.
It sleeps four adults and two children comfortably, it's our home from home, with a very well equipped (NO MEAT) kitchen, relaxing and roomy reception rooms, a bathroom and shower room, and plenty of off street parking.
Rooms are filled with light having beautiful country views.

The space
The oldest parts of the cottage date back the the sixteenth century and we have modernised with a light touch, trying to maintain the feel of its history. It is comfortably furnished as a home and in keeping with it's atmosphere of age and origins. All rooms are generously proportioned and benefit from the beautiful rural views of local farm land and associated wild life. The cottage has gardens on three sides with a large rear terrace and a smaller side seating area, and I grow herbs around the rear terrace.
While the kitchen is well equipped, we have chosen to have a dishwasher rather than a washing machine in the restricted available space.
All the rooms are light and airy, many are double aspect, and recently decorated.
The master bedroom and children's room are both on the first floor along with the bathroom, while the twin bedded room is on the ground floor next to the shower room. The dining room has direct access to the rear terrace. There's plenty of garden furniture and I keep a barbecue in the shed (opposite the kitchen). This is a family home, it is comfortable but does not aspire to ultra-modern boutique hotel standards.

Guest access
I rent out the cottage on a strictly self catering basis and you will have the whole cottage and its gardens to yourself.
In each bedroom cupboard there's some space to hang clothes and in the master bedroom two chests of draws are for visitors.
In the kitchen I clear one shelf in each of the food cupboards for visitors use, but please remember I don't allow any meat on the premises.

Other things to note
The cottage is a traditional ancient, rural Suffolk cottage with some added modern comforts (though not too modern!). The sitting room is heavily beamed with an open fire and upstairs in the oldest portion of the building the floors slope a bit. Unusually for such an old building, it's light and has beautiful rural views from every window.
Being situated on the village's outskirts presents a feeling of remoteness, however, a good choice of supermarkets is only four miles away.

The cottage is walking distance to a good village pub and charming church as well as benefiting from an amazing location for walkers, cyclists, arts and music enthusiasts. Coastal Suffolk has always been and continues to be a popular area for artists. There's a strong tradition of music in the area with Snape Maltings at its heart. The county is perfect for walking and cycling with gently undulating inclines, retaining the scenery made famous by Constable. The coastal towns are a treat for visitors: Aldeburgh, Southwold, Orford, .. each one characterful in its own particular way.

Love London life for family, friends and a whole lot else. Love getting away to Suffolk for the peace and a glimpse of the sea. A bit of a culture vulture in both destinations but music is the focus in Suffolk, theatre and galleries in London.

I would hope to always meet and greet my guests, but occasionally this isn't possible so my friend from along the lane will be at hand instead.
