Due to COVID19 and the impact on our local community, I am not renting this cabin at all this summer. I realize it's an affordable option, but it also cuts in to local businesses that will be struggling given the impact of the virus. I encourage you to book at the:

Talkeetna Hideaway cabins

They are around two blocks from my cabin, ran by locals, and they could use the business way more than me! Sorry for any inconvenience to those who want to stay.

The space
This is a nice lil spot tucked to the side of my main house. Eastside Downtown Talkeetna is quiet and tucked away (but not too far) from the intensity of the tourism in the summer. Three blocks to the airport if you want to go flight seeing, my neighbors rule, and a mile walk to west downtown if you want to go get food, have a drink, go check out the river, see the mountain, etc... (you get the picture).

Guest access
The cabin is yours. If I'm around pop by the house and say hi, I'll more than likely cook you dinner, and I have a washer and dryer you can use if I'm here. I'll also gladly tour you around if I have the time and give you some info on how to have a blast in this amazing state, if you need it.

For the wood stove I have a few guidelines:
- It can get REALLY hot, really quick, when you run it. Especially up in the loft.
- Generally, I wouldn't run the wood stove unless it's sub 0 F outside. The oil heater does a great job.
- The reason I suggest not to run it, is because the wood stove is actually there for emergencies such as power outages, and keeping a pile of seasoned wood available for those situations is very important!
- That said, you are totally welcome to use the wood stove, I realize it's fun and has it's novelty. I would ask to be kind on the wood pile, or to bring your own wood up.

Other things to note
Getting to the loft bed is via a ship ladder and is not really great if you have mobility issues. I don’t want to say who can or cannot stay but please factor this in to your decision on whether to stay or not. Eventually I’ll fix it up a bit better but it’s on a longish list of other improvements :)

Additionally, staying here you can get 25$ off your flight with K2 Aviation. Let me know if you plan on flight seeing, and I can get you hooked up with the information! K2 flies me around to take photos, climb, etc... so I'm glad to send you their way :)

Eastside Downtown Talkeetna is three streets of pure bliss, with a unique make up of what makes this town amazing. Lots of trees, and close to the airport. Not especially noisy (no 747's here), but there is a tiny bit of plane noise from time to time, but all of us came here for that and love that.

I am a traveler and enjoy seeing the world. I love nature, culture, and the unknown! I climb mountains, if you stay with me I’d love to take you if I can, and if I stay with you, I’m likely chasing some rock!

During your stay
It's up to you! I love people but I also value people's privacy. You let me know if you want to hang out and I'm all ears, otherwise you'll never see me (assuming I'm home to begin with).
