A short walk to a beautiful lake, this classic round log cabin offers visitors a relaxing experience in the woods and close access to world class salmon fishing and a restful stop on the way to or from Denali. Enjoy the outdoors games like badminton, use the campfire pit for a cook-out, or fire up the grill for a BBQ. For the winter, bring your snow machine, skis, and ice fishing equipment. Heated with an oil Toyo Stove. Very Comfy!

The space
This is a 16x20 open cabin with a loft. It is most comfortable for 2-3 adults and 2 kids but can sleep up to 5 adults but will be tight as adults can't stand up in the loft. With kids, there is a ladder but railings in the loft. The porch doesn't have railings. The bedroom is small and has sliding barn-style doors for privacy and a pillow top queen mattress. The ladder to the loft is in bedroom.

There isn't internet yet, so plan accordingly. Some guests can get a connection on the porch. Wifi is out of range from our house.

The LA-Z-Boy sofa is in the main living space and pulls out for one guest to sleep on. The loft has thick pull out pads for kids or adults. Full bathroom with a shower and toilet. The kitchenette comes with a microwave, coffee maker, small refrigerator/freezer and a 2 burner cooktop.

All bedding and linens provided.
Heated with an oil stove.

Guest access
Guests will receive an access code just prior to their stay. Cabin is self check in.
Guest has full access to the cabin and the 1/2 acre lot. Guests can bring their own boats to use on the lake. There is one public access with a dirt road. Use fire pit but please distinguish all fires.

Other things to note
The lake is 100 yards away from the cabin is very boggy so bring boots. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout.

Kitchen items for use: magic bullet, waffle maker, toaster, electric kettle, pots & pans, utensils, coffee maker, dishes for 5 people, extra mugs, small refrigerator, and a small microwave. Tea, coffee and hot cocoa provided. There is no oven but there is a new Kenyon 2 burner cooktop.

Come and go cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating or snow machining! And a chance to see the northern lights. Or warm up with some Hot Cocoa provided by host and watch a movie. There are fat bike, cross country ski, and snowshoe rentals at Government Peak hosted by Lifetime Adventures, which is 45 min from cabin.

Very close to the famous Iditarod Sled Dog Race start line in Willow during March.

Trekking on the Matanuska Glacier is an adventure and you can go alone or hire a guide. There are amazing ice caves!

Neighborhood is fairly quiet but will hear kids and dogs. The lake is very peaceful. The Little Susitna River is close for fishing and boating.

Ever since my brother took a fishing trip to Alaska when I was 13 and brought back pictures, I have always wanted to live in a log home here. Now, we live in a log home and have a log cabin. We spend many hours exploring the woods, canoeing on the lake near the cabin, and rafting down the great Alaskan rivers.
