Welcome to Waterloo Lodge, a stunning luxury cottage sleeping 12 guests in the glorious North Yorkshire countryside. Set along a sweeping driveway just outside Richmond, this six-bedroom stone farmhouse is perfect for families or groups seeking a stylish and spacious getaway with both a private hot tub and a games room.

The space
The lodge sleeps up to twelve guests and offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern luxury. Inside, you’ll find beautifully restored architectural features such as exposed stone walls, timber beams, and large glass doors that frame far-reaching views. The main living room is warm and inviting, with leather sofas, a television, and a log-burning stove that sits at the heart of the home, creating a cosy ambiance between the living area and open-plan kitchen. The kitchen itself is fully equipped for entertaining, with a range cooker, island breakfast bar, and space for everyone to gather around the farmhouse table. It's the perfect place to start the day with coffee or end it with a celebratory dinner.

There’s also a more formal sitting room for relaxed afternoons by the open fire, perfect for curling up with a good book or enjoying drinks before dinner. Across the courtyard, the detached annex houses a large games room where guests of all ages can enjoy the pool table, table football, and even a Pac-Man arcade machine, making it an ideal retreat for kids and adults alike.

Waterloo Lodge features four bedrooms in the main house, including a master suite with high ceilings, exposed beams, a luxurious en-suite bathroom, and a private balcony with stunning views. The additional three bedrooms are generously sized, with flexible bed arrangements and stylish bathrooms. In the annex, you'll find two more bedrooms, each with en-suite shower rooms and private entrances, offering extra space and privacy within the group.

Outside, the property is just as impressive. A large private patio area is home to a bubbling jacuzzi hot tub and outdoor seating, perfect for al fresco dining or a relaxing soak under the stars. There's also a BBQ, large lawns for games, a basketball net, and endless countryside views to soak in. On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of the Yorkshire coast.

Waterloo Lodge is the ideal setting for a group gathering, family celebration, or simply an escape to the country. Whether you’re spending the day exploring the nearby market town of Richmond, heading into the national parks, or simply enjoying the comforts of the lodge itself, you’ll find everything you need for a memorable stay.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire property. You can enjoy a seamless arrival experience with self-check-in starting at 4 PM on the day of their arrival, using our convenient key safe. This allows you to settle in at your leisure and begin your stay without any hassle.

Feel like some pampering? Book our partner beauty therapists to visit the house, or head to Saks Hair and Beauty not far away at Sedbury Stables. For celebrations, we recommend dining in with a delicious menu provided by our partner chefs.

Close to home, both just over five minutes' away, for groceries head to Mainsgill Farm Shop or M&S Food at Scotch Corner. We love that only 1/2 mile away is the excellent Bon Coeur Fine Wines. Pop in to buy a bottle from the wide-ranging cellar, or book into tasting nights and the Wine Academy where you are guaranteed to enjoy a boozy evening. The Black Bull in Melsonby is a good local pub for drinking.
