The estate includes a 4-story chateau, 3 outbuildings, and a large garden. The outbuildings are erected around a beautiful heated pool open in summer.
Located east of Angoulême, on the Charente/Dordogne border, the property spans over 6.5 hectares of lush gardens.
The 5-star chateau features 4 bedrooms, accommodating up to 8 guests. The charming 3-star outbuildings offer 5 cozy rooms, hosting up to 10 people.
Chateau de Lasfonds estate provides multiple room options located in the main chateau and the outbuildings.
I. CHATEAU ACCOMODATIONS
Each room in the Château comes with a king-sized bed and 5-star hotel mattress for your comfort. The Château features a master bedroom on the first floor and three guest rooms on the second floor, sleeping a total of 8 people.
For groups or families needing extra space, there is a sofa bed in the Middle Kingdom bedroom that fits additional guests. We also offer a baby cot, available for any room by request.
All three second-floor bedrooms come with wardrobes and work desks, alongside their king-size beds. Let’s take a closer look at each room.
MASTER BEDROOM, 1F (80 M2)
This spacious suite includes a king-sized bed, air conditioning, a walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom with two open showers. The room is bright with natural light, showcasing the original architecture and decor. There’s also an office room next to the suite with a desk and a printer/scanner, ideal for those who need to work in a quiet environment.
THE COMMONWEALTH, 2F (18 M2)
The Commonwealth room, spacious and well-appointed, features a comfortable king-size bed, ample storage with a wardrobe, a practical work desk, and air conditioning for your comfort. Set on the east side of the château, this colonial-themed room offers uninterrupted views of the meticulously landscaped gardens.
THE MIDDLE KINGDOM, 2F (30 M2)
The Middle Kingdom is the largest bedroom on the second floor, offering a king-size bed and a sofa bed suitable for children. The room includes essential amenities such as a wardrobe, desk, air conditioning and lighting. Centrally located among the other bedrooms, this room features unique Chinese antique decorations, adding an element of world charm to your stay.
CONTINENTAL GARDEN, 2F (18M2)
The north-facing Continental Garden room is filled with natural light and provides a peaceful garden view. It’s fitted with a King-size bed, wardrobe, desk, and air conditioning. The room’s continental theme is reflected in its European antique-style furniture and decor, enhancing the serene and classic ambiance.
II. OUTBUILDING ACCOMODATIONS
All the outbuildings are renovated to be functional and comfortable. They offer a simpler setup compared to the main Château, with a cosy, traditional French village-house style. We’re planning to enhance these spaces by the end of 2025.
If you’re interested in using the outbuildings for your stay, please inform us ahead of time, so we could ready them for your arrival.
LAVENDER COTTAGE, SOUTHERN OUTBUILDING (130 m2)
The Lavender Cottage covers 130 sqm over two floors, featuring a living room with a fireplace, a simple kitchen with a dining area, and two 16 sqm bedrooms, and three bathrooms, one of which has a bathtub.
There’s also a laundry room for your convenience. Its private terrace, embraced by the scent of roses and lavender in the summer, offers a peaceful outdoor retreat. This cottage is an ideal choice for families.
LOFT GITE, SOUTHERN OUTBUILDING (41 m2)
The loft gite offers a comfortable living space with a sofa and pantry, complemented by the warmth of a wood-fired oven and a private ensuite bathroom. Above, a lofted platform area features a queen-size bed.
A side door from the gite opens to a dedicated sitting area in the garden, where you can relax outdoors. An added touch of history is present in the form of a 19th-century window, a preserved piece from the Château’s original church.
POOL GITE, WESTERN OUTBUILDING (45 m2)
The pool gite combines rustic charm with modern comfort. Original stone walls and wooden beams give it the feel of a quaint village house, while each suite features a private bathroom and its own garden access. Inside, you’ll find a 55-inch TV, a comfortable king-size bed, and a working desk, ensuring a pleasant and well-equipped stay.

This gite offers a welcoming and convenient stay with all the essentials you’d need. It features a king-size bed, a 55-inch TV, and a desk, along with an extendable sofa bed, an ensuite bathroom, and direct access to a private garden. Positioned close to the heated pool and adjacent to the games room, party kitchen, and gym, it’s the perfect spot for relaxation and entertainment.
III. THE ESTATE
The Château de Lasfonds estate covers 6.5 hectares. The area around the Château is a well-kept garden with a variety of flowers, century-old fruit trees, a quiet forest and a spacious lawn for outdoor activities.
There are benches and seating areas throughout the grounds, perfect for walking or just taking a break to unwind. The estate is also home to local wildlife, such as deer, hares, bats, owls, foxes, and the groundskeeper’s dog may stop by, too.
The Château is set on raised ground, offering impressive views of the nearby countryside.
At night, the lack of city lights means you can enjoy excellent stargazing across the property, with the stars appearing especially clear and vivid.
Guest access
Guests will have the whole estate for exclusive use. The groundskeeper works Monday to Friday to maintain the garden and look after the estate. Otherwise, if you prefer total privacy he can leave the property during your stay only coming in to perform crucial garden maintenance during the weekdays. Just let us know when you book.
