Hacienda Tala — A Private Hilltop Estate Above the North Coast

There are places you visit, and places that stay with you. Crowning a hilltop and embraced by nature on every side, Tala looks out over mountains, ocean, and a horizon that turns gold at dusk. From the moment you arrive through the private gate, the entire estate is yours — no other guests, no shared spaces, no compromises. Your own private resort, with a full-time team whose only reservation is yours.

Life at the Villa

Days begin behind floor-to-ceiling glass, where an art-filled great room opens onto an L-shaped terrace made for long breakfasts and longer sunsets — lounge seating, a table for the whole group, and a full-size bar that becomes the heart of the evening. A guest kitchen keeps things easy; behind it, a commercial-grade kitchen is where the culinary team works its quiet magic, from à la carte lunches to themed dinner nights under the stars.

Rest, Beautifully

Eleven en-suite bedrooms, each with air conditioning and its own perspective of the estate. A serene master suite with private living area, sun terrace, and spa bath; garden rooms that open straight onto the greenery; and, in the new wellness building, five king suites — each with walk-in closet, work desk, and a spa-style bath with soaking tub and double vanity. Here the setting takes over: the green of the forest and the blue of the ocean and sky are with you from the private terrace and the bed, and even from the bath, where a glass window with a roller blind lets you choose privacy or view from the tub and shower. Room-darkening curtains across the terrace doors let you sleep to the forest and wake when you choose — the landscape yours from the first light to the last.

The Wellness Pavilion

Tala's newest chapter is devoted entirely to restoration: an infrared sauna, a cold plunge, a massage room, a fitness area with treadmill, weights and a workout bench, and a full bathroom with shower, toilet and vanity. Large glass windows with sliding curtains open the forest in or close it off for privacy, and the whole pavilion is reserved exclusively for resident guests.

The Grounds

An infinity pool and hot tub anchor the gardens, with sun loungers and outdoor dining throughout. High-speed Starlink reaches the whole property, a triple-redundant power system (solar, grid, and full-estate generator) keeps the comfort from ever blinking, all within a private, gated estate.

A round-trip airport transfer from Santiago or Puerto Plata; full-time maid service with laundry; a welcome drink and daily breakfast; and a dedicated concierge and head of household who runs everything around you.

This property is located nestled on a hilltop overlooking Las Canas beach. Las Canas is one of the few virgin beaches left in the DR. The beach is a favorite for Kite surfers.

The property is just 25 min. from Cabarete beach and Encuentro Beach both considered the best water sports capital of the Dominican Republic.

Cabarete is also home to some of the best restaurants on the North Coast.

There are a string of amazing beaches, waterfalls and adventures all within 45 min. of the villa.
