Why your price may appear differently in searches

In a new experiment, some guests will find only the total price of a stay when they search
The trial does not affect guest payment amounts or Host payouts
Since last year, we’ve been testing different ways to show the price of stays in listing search results.
Currently, guests in some areas find both the nightly rate and total price in search results. Starting this month, we’re rolling out a new pricing experiment to highlight only the total price of a listing for some guests searching for stays, including the nightly price, Airbnb’s service fee, and any fees for cleaning, pets, or extra guests.
The goal is to create a booking experience that’s easier, faster, and more explicit for guests. Here’s what you need to know about this pricing experiment—and how to provide feedback.
How does this pricing trial work?
Guests in some areas will find only total prices of stays alongside listings in their search results. This total price will not include taxes, which appear as a separate line item on the checkout page.
The trial applies to guests searching for stays in some locations worldwide. During the trial, banners may appear across listings, alerting guests of the change.Does this pricing trial affect my payout?
No. The amount a guest pays and Host payouts are not affected in any way.
You always have control over the price you set for your space. During this trial, you can still adjust your nightly rate in the Pricing and availability section of your listing details. Why is Airbnb doing this experiment?
We designed our existing service to break out the different fees and taxes so that guests fully understand the potential charges prior to paying. Over the past year, we’ve noticed a significant travel rebound on Airbnb and, while we believe our current format works well, we’re constantly striving to improve everyone’s experience.
By testing different ways to display prices in listings, we hope to identify whether a new format could boost Host bookings and better serve our global community.
Is there anything else I should know?
Whether or not your listing is in a location involved in the experiment, you can always update your listing description to flaunt what’s special about you and your space.
You can also adjust and refine your pricing strategy using the new price preview tool. This tool gives you a breakdown of the guest’s total price—and your payout—right from your hosting account.
As we continue to test new ways to show pricing in listing search results, we encourage your feedback. Please share your thoughts on this experiment with us—and as always, thank you for being part of our valued Host community
