Natural lighting fills every room. The construction of this home was designed with special attention to every detail. The sinks are made from beautiful copper, all of the cabinets were made by a local furniture maker with beautiful native woods. There are so many cozy places throughout the home to lounge and rest and simply enjoy the incredible jungle views. From inside the home to out on the lanais (Hawaiian for balcony), you can rest comfortably. Do you need a soak in an over-sized jacuzzi tub with jets? If so, we have you covered. Enjoy your own personal spa experience in the master suite, which also has a walk-in shower, double sinks, and vanity area. Are you interested in exploring the abundance of local produce and fresh meats that Hawaii island has to offer? If so, we have all that you need in the kitchen to prepare local style feasts at home. You are also right in Hilo town and have easy access to some of the island's best restaurants. Both bedrooms have king sized foam mattresses with extra blankets and pillows. In the upstairs master suite, there is a little space for your computer or journaling or art or whatever you like. You also have an incredible private lanai from the master suite. The views from up here might just entice you to never leave. If you are down for a rugged little jungle hike, you can swim in the beautiful fresh water spring and get up close to the year-round waterfall. There is a palm tree-lined trail right from our property that will take you down there. You have complete access to the home, property, and beautiful - swimmable waterfall. We are currently living in California, but will provide you with our local contacts when your reservation is confirmed. You may always contact me via email, text, or call and we will immediately respond and help with whatever you might need. Enjoy the convenience of self check-in and check-out. Located in the Reed's Island neighborhood and surrounded on both sides by rivers, streams, and waterfalls—walk through the area and admire the historic homes. Hilo town and beaches are nearby, and the Volcano National Park is 30 minutes away. Hilo and East Hawaii is the perfect choice if you want to an authentic Hawaiian experience. You might also explore the world's most advanced telescopes on Mauna Kea and our gorgeous local brackish water black sand beaches. You will want a car to access the local destinations. Walking from the house is quite enjoyable, but more ideal for sight seeing. Please be advised that the yard is still a work in progress and is therefore a bit rugged to get around. Also, as our guest, you must accept 100% responsibility of your person and your possessions and release all liabilities from the homeowner.

Hilo Downtown Retreat

The apartment is a self contained living space that is very well appointed with bespoke furniture, fittings and original art. It has all of its own amenities so you should want for nothing. It is located two minutes from downtown Hilo. If you want you can walk to everything, including; shops, restaurants, beaches, bars, yoga studios, gyms and so on. If you are over 5' 10" you will need to mind your head in a couple of places so please be aware of this. We are always looking to improve.

First time staying at a bed and breakfast! The hosts were away unfortunately but their friend Anthony was incredibly friendly and helpful. Communication with Stephen and Su was fantastic, very quick to message back. Amazing to be able to walk to the beach. And very close to drive into Hilo for meals and groceries. Luckily we were still close enough to race to Kīlauea to watch episode 23!!!! Mind blowing experience. Thank you so much for opening a part of your home to us. Trip if a lifetime! Quaint and super peaceful place! Exactly as listed, the surroundings were absolutely lovely, birds chirping, and frogs at night. Screened room was so nice to sit in and enjoy nature, as well as outdoor lanai. The breakfast was lovely- things put in the fridge to eat as you like, facilities to prepare the food in the outdoor shared kitchen. Easy check in and parking was fine. Would definitely stay here again!

We had the BEST stay, the teenage boys loved it. It was peaceful, quiet, and clean. The bedding was so comfortable, all the amenities you could need were provided, and it was the perfect amount of space for the four of us. The smell of night and blooming jasmine and being right next to a constant running stream were a bonus, especially with coffee in the morning. The place is easy to find and communicating with Adam was a breeze. Looking forward to staying here again.
