About 4 km north from the city of Horta is Almoxarife Beach. In the "a moagem" space, there is life in every corner, in the garden there is a water cistern and a threshing floor. It features traditional architecture, dating back to the beginning of the last century. At the mill, a philosophy based on the traditional and sustainable is practiced. Look forward to a fantastic, unobstructed view of the wide Atlantic Ocean and the neighboring island of Pico with Portugal's highest mountain "Montanha do Pico", 2,351m. The jewel of the house is the large conservatory, wich is glazed on 3 sides inluding the roof, and which might be better be called a summer garden.
