Nestled in a quiet St Kilda street, you’ll be delighted with all this place has to offer. Enjoy your stay in this 1950s boutique apartment comprising of open plan living, original timber floors, well designed kitchen and bathroom. Based on the ground floor you will love the north facing entrance, spacious hallway and two generous sized bedrooms with comfy beds topped with high quality linen. Featuring a security entry, free high-speed wifi and a comprehensive list of amenities, you’ll have everything you need to make your stay memorable. Bedrooms: The two generous sized bedrooms sleep a total of four people, the main bedroom with a queen bed and two singles in the second bedroom. All beds are fitted with high quality 1000 thread count sheets and guests receive a fresh set of bath and hand towels. Both rooms have built in wardrobes containing hangers, shelving and enough space to store your luggage. Living Room: Kick back on the comfy couch in front of the gas log fireplace and high definition, flat screen, smart television that comes complete with Netflix. Our comprehensive guide for guests includes the wifi password, instructions on how to use all amenities, as well as our personal recommendations on where to eat, drink and suggestions on what to do in St Kilda. Laundry: If you’re looking to keep on top of your laundry during your stay, the easy to use front-loading washing machine located in the hidden kitchen cupboard is all yours to use with the complimentary washing detergent. You’ll find the clothes rack beside the washing machine which can be placed in front of the gas log fire for quick dry in Winter or outside in the sunshine during Summer. The iron and ironing board are both found in the hallway cupboard. Outdoor Area: Out the front door, the communal outdoor area is the perfect place to sit and bask in the afternoon sunshine whilst reading a book. Alternatively, why not lay on the grass sipping on one of Victoria’s finest wines… or two ;) Car Parking: For those with a car, the adjacent Mitchell Street has parking and is within 50m to 100m of the apartment depending on where you land a spot. Prior to your arrival we will send you a PDF outlining how to access the apartment along with the necessary codes for the key safes. A set of keys are provided to you during your stay and the entire apartment is all yours to enjoy. We do however both work full time so the best way to get in touch is via email or SMS and we’ll get back to you at our earliest possible convenience. The apartment is located in St Kilda, with amazing eateries, coffee shops, bars, and Acland Street’s famous cake shops at the doorstep. Become immersed in all St Kilda and Melbourne have to offer. It's a stone's throw to the beach and botanical gardens. There are a plethora of public transport options available within a stone's throw from the front gate. Among these options is the 96 tram from the bottom of Acland Street which takes you straight to the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. Numerous tram and bus stops as well as a nearby train station ensure you can get wherever you need. In order to travel on public transport, you will need a Myki card which can be purchased from supporting stores such as local newsagencies or at train stations. We recommended using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps or downloading the Moovit app to your smartphone which provides detailed information on how to get from A to B. For those that love Uber (who doesn’t), St Kilda is a hot spot for Uber driver’s and in turn you’ll never wait too long for a pickup. If you’ve got a car, the adjacent Mitchell Street has 2 and 4 hourly parking and is within 50m to 100m of the apartment depending on where you land a spot. We are also able to provide a parking permit if required. Wherever possible, we aim to provide products that are environmentally friendly and socially conscious to ensure we are both (host and guest) contributing to the global community. The tram stop is outside the main front door for Tram Routes 16 & 74 or 5 minutes walk to Riversdale Road or Burwood Road tramlines. Barkers Road will take you to Richmond and Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre or take a leisurely walk along Burwood Road and the Yarra River. Catch Route 75 trams along Riversdale Road to Etihad Stadium, Cooks' Cottage, Melbourne Aquarium, Federation Square and Bridge Road shopping or in the other direction to Vermont South. Catch Route 70 trams to Swan Street Shopping Centre, Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, Harbour Town Shopping Centre, Docklands, Melbourne Aquarium, MCG, Rod Laver Arena, Hisense Arena and AAMI Park. Glenferrie Train Station is your nearest station. It is just a 6 minute walk from the apartment and nearly all express trains stop at Glenferrie Station. The train will take you to Melbourne Central in under 10 minutes. Glenferrie Station is on the Lilydale, Belgrave and Alamein lines. Even crossing the road is not difficult as you have crossing lights on either side of your location. Feel safe with security cameras in the common areas of the building. The building and apartment are wheelchair accessible. The apartment is so quiet and surrounded by greenery, birds and butterflies- you wouldn't believe you are in an apartment with every convenience at your doorstep.

Well-Preserved Quintessential 1960s Bungalow Near the CBD

Step back in time to a hilltop house with views across the city through picture windows. Exposed brick and the extensive use of natural wood maintain a mid-century atmosphere, enhanced by period furnishings and gleaming softwood floors throughout. The House Manual provides information about Jack's, as we call our house. We do not host guests with accompanying pets and smoking on any part of the house and property is not acceptable. If these rules are not to your liking then please do not book. Jack's Place is an original 1960's architect designed house. A master bedroom with direct access to the bathroom (en-suite except it is the only one!). The second bedroom features jarrah flooring and exposed brick wall. The living area features a unique view across the City especially at night. Functional kitchen and laundry, air conditioning and heating. The rental terms are for the whole house but if a couple book then it is expected only one bedroom is used. On booking it is best to clarify if both bedrooms are required. If not we do not make up the second bed. Jack's Place is a free standing brick residence with its own car space. There is a walled courtyard and front lawn area/garden (yet to be fully developed ). Cate and I live behind Jack's Place and both properties share a driveway. Naturally the drive must be kept clear at all time. More than happy to be contacted with any questions relating to Ballarat in general, food, wine and things to do. This 1962 house is in Golden Point, an old area in the City of Ballarat, about 125 kilometers west of Melbourne. These days the architecture of the area varies from 1860s dwellings, California bungalows, and modern high-density residences. Ballarat's main street is Sturt St. It is about a ten minute walk to the town centre and less to major supermarkets. Parking in town is charged via meter all week. On the edge of the central business district parking is free. Parking around the restaurant area of Armstrong St is difficult. My advice is to walk to dinner and Uber home. Local buses are confusing. Only a few minutes away is The Grapes Hotel, friendly and reliable. Ballarat weather can be variable. I have no control over the weather! We are perched about 375 metres above sea level, cold in Winter and hot in Summer. Summer nights tend to cool down. To keep the house warm and you comfortable, draw the blinds and turn on the heating. There are electric panel heater available in the house. Be very aware that they are not suitable for use when young children are part of the guest party. To cool the house, draw the blinds, close all windows and unnecessary doors and set the cooling for 10C below the outside temperature.
