Shalom Mission Estates

The best hosts ever!!! Norah and her family are amazing. We felt very welcomed. The guesthouse is very safe, comfortable and you have all you need in once place. She picked us up/ drop us off from the airport, helped us buy the groceries and recommended the best tour guide to visit the tribes. I highly recommend this place for everyone ( solo travelers, bigger groups, etc)

The secret destination for Peace

JaneRating, 5 stars6 months ago
The homestay was a truly memorable experience. communication with Joel was excellent even sending a photo of his brother and his license plate for a smooth airport pickup. They also took me to a grocery store. Despite my flight’s late arrival, they were incredibly accommodating and efficient. Upon arriving on the island, I received a warm welcome—it happened to be the opening day of the Fish Museum, adding to the unique experience. The accommodations are basic, as shown in the photos, with pit toilets and bucket showers. If you don’t like roughing it - don’t stay here. While the hut’s kitchen didn’t have propane, cooking by the fire near the water was better with ocean breeze. The villagers are super friendly and excited to speak to a foreigner. There was no hidden fees for airport pick up or boat ride, it was included in my Airbnb cost. Joels family was ready available as my tour guide or to help me. I recommend going to white sandy beach. It’s beautiful and secluded.
A compact kitchen area is visible, featuring wooden cabinetry and stainless steel shelves holding various cooking utensils. A small dining table with chairs is present, adorned with a tablecloth. The flooring displays a patterned tile design, complemented by natural light streaming through a window with red curtains.

The art and craft of Dala guest house

Bessie"s home is nestled in a beautiful village on the outskirts of Madang. It is surrounded by lush gardens with bountiful tropical fruits. Take a swim in the lagoon or go for a walk amongst the palms and wide sniles will follow you through the village. Bessie is a fantastic host and helped to make my stay very special. I will be back.
Rows of houses are visible against a backdrop of green hills and a distant waterfall. Lush vegetation fills the foreground, while the mountains loom under partly cloudy skies, creating a serene and natural setting.

Very friendly and helpfull host Bepi. She took us from the airport, helped us with local guides, with transport to next destination and with security in area.

Highly recommend. Joel & his family were so welcoming. Joel went above and beyond to help me with everything including activities with the locals, getting food and even accommodation else where. The people of the island were so friendly and it is a great place to relax and be amongst another culture. Ps. The water is amazing!!
