Monthly Rentals in Orchid Island

Our stay was great! This is the definition of an authentic homestay, so don't expect a hotel style experience when you book. She came to pick us up from the ferry which was great. She has scooters you can rent directly from her rather than going through official companies which is much easier and she also is happy to cook you local food in the evening at a cost of around 150 TWD. Great experience all round! Her and her husband are also incredibly trustworthy people. I stupidly made the mistake of leaving my passport behind and they sent it to Taitung by airplane for us which we were incredibly grateful for 🙏. I only have minor criticisms of the place. The pictures don't quite represent where you are staying, the room is pretty small and tall people need to crouch down. Also unfortunately the bathroom doesn't really have a door that covers the entire doorway meaning if someone is doing something other than a pee, people in the bedroom have to endure that smell as well.

Perfect place to stay in Lanyu! The accommodation has everything you need, even with a sea view from the bed! It is ideally located next to the Ferry terminal, 7/11 and restaurants. In addition, Bruce, the host, was very friendly and always available when needed!

I was the only guest, except for the little helper who helped at the bar and returned at night, so I had a sense of exclusivity.🤭 There's very little light pollution, and there's a mountain behind it, so it should be great for stargazing in good weather. The bed is super comfortable ~ The bathroom is super clean, carefully kept dry and comfortable Lots of hangers, big and open cabinets to dry wet items; the vanity mirror is a whole wall, pretty cool😆 The only downside is that the stairs are open-air, and you'll need an umbrella to walk up and down on rainy days, and you may get wet or slip if you go downstairs to get water after taking a shower in a heavy rain. Sister Mi and the assistant are very talkative and they even hiss at each other.😂 99% of them are great!

Great, relaxed place to stay! Perfect for solo or small group travelers on a budget. The staff is really friendly and it was a nice area of the island to stay. We were in a quiet area but we could still walk to some restaurants and bars and we were in good driving distance to a lot of things.
