Opende lies in the Friese Wouden The airBNB is located in our yard on the border of Groningen and Friesland. Hiking and biking can be done in the nearby nature reserves Alde Feanen, Bakkeveen, Beetsterzwaag and Lauwersmeer. A day in Ameland or Schiermonnikoog is also great to do. Culture can be gained in Groningen, Leeuwarden and Heerenveen (about 25 minutes). Surhuisterveen is about 2 km away and has a shopping center with supermarkets, restaurants and all kinds of shops. You must arrange breakfast yourself.

Nature cottage the Twadde Hûske

The Twadde Hûske is a new apartment (opened in April 2025) with floor heating and air conditioning, which can be booked for 4 people. In consultation for 5 or 6 people by adding a folding mattress and/or camping bed, but this is only suitable for short stays. Further on, you can read more about the layout of the apartment.
