At approximately 5200 feet above sea level, the Lake Atitlan area enjoys year-round spring-like weather (70s to low 80s during the day and 60s at night). Although temperatures remain relatively constant throughout the year the weather is marked by two distinctive seasons: the rainy season (May to October) and the dry season (November to April). During the rainy season the mountains and volcanoes surrounding the lake are verdant green. The mornings are generally crystal clear, while the afternoons bring spectacular showers that are a sight to behold as they roll in over the lake. During the dry season it is rare to receive any precipitation at all. La Casa Colibri has five luxurious guest rooms each with en-suite bath. Four rooms have spacious balconies overlooking the lake. Two rooms have deep soak tubs with separate showers.

Everyone was so helpful on the property. Israel especially. He went out to get us pizza one night, coffee, etc. and was a huge help in case there was ever a need. The hike up was intense, so make sure you're prepared for that, but I promise when you reach the top it is soooo worth it. The views were stunning. We had a great time here.

We loved staying at Nicolas’ home! It was so peaceful and beautiful. The views are amazing and loved waking up to a beautiful view in the morning. Although our trip was short, we enlisted every minute of it! The location is a bit far from the lively cities but the boat rides are pretty consistent so getting around was not difficult at all. Not to mention Nicola’s had recommended to us the best way of transportation around cities so that was help for sure.

A stone pathway leads through an outdoor area, flanked by various green plants. Circular stepping stones create a textured surface, while a rock is positioned near the top of the path. A natural stone wall adds an earthy feel to the surroundings.

I stayed at Julio's place with my husband and 2 kids. It was a blast! We really enjoyed it! Most beautiful view in that area around the lake ! Julio is very responsible,helpful and friendly as all his stuff! I Would recommend it to all!

Bello lugar!! La cabaña era muy bonita. El diseño muy práctico. Fue muy cómoda para tres adultos. Las camas muy confortables. El entorno era precioso. Rodeada por un jardín bien cuidado. Con acceso a un muelle sobre el lago Atitlán. Vistas hermosas del lago y volcanes. Personal muy atento y amable. Muy recomendado para parejas, familias. A 10 minutos de San Juan La Laguna en vehículo. Wifi en la cabaňa. Parqueo privado. Baño privado con agua caliente. Volvería a hospedarme allí.

This was truly a magical stay. The views from the treehouse were absolutely breathtaking—whether lounging on the bed or relaxing on the balcony, we had 24-hour panoramic views of the volcano, the lake, and the village of Tzununa. Our hosts, Melinda and Clint, were incredibly responsive and helpful with anything we needed. The space itself is beautifully designed, and the addition of a coffee bar made each morning something to look forward to. The hike up to the treehouse was more intense than I expected, but to be fair, the listing does prepare you for it. One thing to be aware of: spiders are part of the experience. At first, the large spiders were a bit unsettling, but after Melinda and Clint reassured us they were harmless, I quickly got used to them. Eventually, I hardly noticed them at all. The ants were a bit more persistent—especially around food and the coffee bar—but nothing a quick spray of bug repellent couldn’t handle. Overall, I was very satisfied with this stay!
