El Pretexto is our home and life’s undertaking. A space that combines wooden villas, an agroecology farming bed, an orchard, a forest, and a large wooden deck. Located in a very peaceful area in the mountains of Cayey with fantastic views all the way to the south coast and just one hour away from San Juan. El Pretexto is an adults-only (18+) venue, so if you are looking for a relaxed, countryside experience, El Pretexto is the place to stay. Farm-to-Table breakfasts are included each morning.

Backpacker ecofriendly environment. Awesome views of El Yunque. 2 Minutes to rainforest and only 10 minutes to the local beaches and town of Luquillo. We are 45 minutes to the ferries that will take you to Culebra and Vieques. Private property with chickens, 2 cats and a dog named Cayo. Our personal home is on the property. We are close by for any assistance. We have lots of fruits & vegetables (passion fruit, bananas, pineapple, mangos..). We are striving to be as low impact as possible.

Estamos ubicados en la montaña, es muy privado, alejado de la ciudad, a una hora de distancia de San Juan y el Aeropuerto Internacional de Puerto Rico. Recomendamos rentar un vehículo SUV o 4x4 para su tranquilidad, si no está acostumbrado a transitar en la Montaña. Una vez comienzas a subir a la montaña, es por calles con curvas y algunas pendientes empinadas, pero completamente transitables.

This 10'x16' self sufficient tiny house is a unique space on the mountain with everything you need to relax away from home. The views of the National rain forest and coastline are amazing. The Sonadora creek borders the 7.5 acres backyard and can be accessed through several paths in the property. The small kitchen is fully equipped for your convenience. It is 29 minutes to the Ferry terminal to Vieques/Culebra, 28 minutes to Seven Seas and 41 minutes to El Yunque.

Back at the studio you can enjoy a queen size bed for 2 and also a full size sofa bed (2 children under 6 will fit. Laundry service for guest that stays more than 4 days.
