Lake House | Shirley Creek

BeauRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Jason was a wonderful host, and his cabin is a fantastic find for a trip to the lake. The cabin is incredibly easy to find. Checking in was incredibly easy, especially if you're traveling with the family. The loft is a great hangout spot if you have kids, and the cabin itself has plenty of room, a great bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a fantastic view both from the wraparound porch and from the living room. I highly recommend renting from him, especially if you're looking for a worry free weekend at the lake with loved ones, or alone. I will absolutely be back 🤙.

The Lake House

KathiRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We stayed at the Lakehouse for a long weekend while celebrating our daughter’s graduation from SFA. We had family drive down to stay with us from Iowa. First off, the house was incredibly beautiful and so well set up. The hosts have thought of everything! The kitchen is extremely well stocked with pots, pans, and even a crockpot! There was a fully stocked coffee bar as well! Each of the bathrooms had shampoo and conditioner. They even had extra toothbrushes and toothpaste in case we forgot ours. My in-laws mentioned many times how this was the nicest place they had ever stayed at. They kept talking about how comfortable the beds were and how soft the towels were. The host allowed us to have a brunch with a few friends to celebrate our daughter’s graduation and we could not have asked for a more perfect location. The kitchen is spacious and the living room space was large yet inviting. Spent every morning drinking coffee on the enclosed back porch. It was lovely. We highly recommend it

This home has it all…spacious, comfortable and full of history! We have stayed here twice and it’s the most warm and inviting place in town close to everything! I especially love having my coffee on the front porch and a glass of wine around the firepit!

Home On The Road....There is no place like Home

AmandaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Sandra was incredibly kind and communicative! She even helped us coordinate a meet up location in the area since we were meeting somebody who also wasn't from the area. The house was so serene and absolutely spotless. It was updated and clearly well loved. Our dogs were very comfortable in the space as well! I wish we'd had time to truly enjoy the firepit area because it looks so comfy, but maybe next time! 10/10 recommend!

Modernized Lakefront Camper

PaulRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This stay could have been a problem had it not been for the folks who own it. On my fourth or fifth trip from the lake to the cabin via truck, I had a flat on my trailer. As I got back to the cabin I knocked down a gate. And then I found my jack didn’t jack. I sent a text and said I had a problem to report and shortly received a call back. I explained I had knocked the gate down and additionally needed to borrow a jack. In a short time Allan showed up with a jack and we got the tire changed. I offered to pay for the gate post and he said No! In today’s world these type of folks are few and far between. Do yourself a favor and book this camper or cabin, it’s a very peaceful location, on a great fishing lake in the East Texas piney woods and it don’t get a lot better than that!

We had a great time at this dairy barn farm and LOVED being able to watch the cows in the evenings. The location is perfect for a weekend getaway where you just want peace and quiet. Julie was super communicative and SO friendly! (her banana bread? top. tier.) 10/10 recommend and will 100% be coming back!
