The Gateway-Getaway is only about three miles from Mount Desert Island (MDI) where you will find Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor. The apartment is perfect for 1-2 people. You will stay in an efficiency apartment above our detached garage. Which is in a quiet location (although occasionally our dogs bark when outside). Walk to the marina, shops, and restaurants, bike to Acadia’s Brown Mountain Gatehouse, or drive 15 minutes to Bar Harbor and 20 minutes to Southwest Harbor. A public pool is just across the street (July–August). Settle in, slow down, and enjoy the island life - Maine style.

You may enjoy dipping your toes at the oceans edge or you may like to just watch the garden grow. The apartment is self sufficient with private bathroom and entrance. We would want you to know that we may be up early mornings along with the chickens so early risers would do best here.
