This quaint, early 1900's farm house sits among shady trees and overlooks a beautiful pasture and garden. Rock on the porch or roast marshmallows in the fire pit. The parking and turn around are big enough to accommodate a trailer. It's convenient to horse trails, hiking, kayaking, and biking on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau. Big South Fork National Recreation Area, Pickett State Park, Historic Rugby, Muddy Pond, and Sgt. Alvin C. York's Museum and Burial Place are all within 30 minutes.

The house is located on our 80+ acre family farm where black angus cattle also reside. You may also spot deer, turkeys, and other wildlife. There are numerous bird feeders so you can enjoy birdwatching from several outdoor seating areas. The property is filled with paths through wildflower gardens and has expansive views of the surrounding mountains.

It’s time for an adventure at our vacation rental, Cabell Cottage. With Lake Cumberland only 5 minutes away via the Cabell landing....really your boat is 5 minutes from being in the water; the cottage can be your base for all things fun on the lake (swimming, boating, and fishing). Did I CATCH your interest with fishing. However, if it’s a retreat you seek, the cottage is also for you as it sits in a quiet, very pretty, rural area of Wayne County, Kentucky, where 5 can sleep easily.

Americana Country Cabin

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This cabin is perfect to experience the remote quiet life in the country yet it is only 6 miles to the nearest town of Byrdstown TN which is absolutely charming. It still has the southern hospitality in which we all love and endure. This cabin is less than 11 miles from the prestigous Dale Hollow Lake and Sunset Marina where there is a multitude of water activities to do including a sandy beach area at the Obey River Recreation Area.

All rooms have a view of the lake and the deck overlooks Dale Hollow. We are a mile from Wolf River Boat Dock. The suite is downstairs with a private entrance. There are walking paths that encompasses 3 acres on the property. The private deck has a fire pit for chilly mornings to enjoy coffee or relaxing evening. Beautiful, extremely secluded cabin at the end of a 1 mile gravel rd. If privacy, peace & quiet is your goal, this is it. Acres of hiking. Loads of different lake views from property. 1mile from Franklin creek primitive boat slip. Perfect for kayaking, fishing or playing in the water. Avid hikers can hike from cabin to lake. Must be 21 to book Only guests whose name is on the reservation are allowed. NO visitors. NO parties. NO exception ** BOAT PARKING IS AVAILABLE **

You will have a large deck that faces the pond, private parking, complete kitchen facilities, washer and dryer, and a large bathroom. You won’t find a more peaceful & serene setting. The pond is stocked with 4 types of fish, so bring your gear. You can watch the hawks, ducks maybe even some deer. Everything you need is provided whether you stay a night or a week.
