This home is in a country setting on Hatchet Mountain in Hope near the beautiful Maine coast and about 8 miles from Camden. About a mile from our home, is Hobbs Pond (2 miles long!) with public access for swimming, boating and kayaking. Hiking trails surround us, too! Beaver Lodge, a favorite spot for weddings and other family events, is also nearby.
“This large, beautiful home was well beyond what we expected from the moment we walked in the door. It was very spacious and well furnished and we loved looking at the antiques. We highly recommend it!”
Welcome to a cozy, private, off-grid cabin on our small organic farm and homestead. Nestled on the edge of the forest, with sunny views of our orchard and fields. Farm-fresh vegetables, fruit and meat available seasonally for cooking in a fully stocked kitchen. We are just up the road from Lake St. George State Park, and a short drive from diverse recreational and dining opportunities. We are 20 minutes from Belfast, a small, bustling coastal town. 35 minutes to Camden. All are welcome!
“The cottage was perfect for our short fall trip in Maine! Maia and Jacob manage to offer an off the grid experience that is unique, simple and comfortable, complete with romantic oil lamp lighting, a great collection of books and games, and beautiful views around the property. Be aware that cell service might be spotty in the area. If you think you may need more light, you could always bring your own headlamp. Though we didnt get to meet our hosts Maia was super communicative and provided great instructions for getting there and recommendations nearby as well. Highly recommend!”
"The Lair" is a just recently renovated small 200 square foot cabin with vaulted ceilings and plenty of natural sunlight. The building is located close to Green Tree Coffee and Tea, a coffee roaster, so the aroma of coffee will be in the air. We located about 400 yards South of the Islesboro Ferry and Lincolnville Beach and 2.4 milres North of Camden Hills State Park and Mount Battie. Free coffee and tea everyday, all day! We are closed for Winter, will re-open Mid-April. Thank you.
“The Lair was a wonderful little find for a quick trip up the coast! We loved our stay at the cozy little cabin, the sound of peepers and rain lulled us to sleep, after a fantastic hike up Mt. Bald (suggested by John) and a stroll on the Lincolnville beach. John was a gracious host, who couldn't have been more welcoming to us and our furry friend. Enjoyed the delicious coffee and tea @ The Green Tree, where we had fun shopping for locally made products. Already looking forward to my next trip back!”
