“Great little space for the whole family, including well-equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Friendly welcome, helpful with our one question, quick to respond to our reservation request. The kids appreciated playing outside, unfortunately we didn't stay long enough to take advantage of the beach across the highway.”

“I booked to get a long weekend away, stay by the lake, do some writing and hiking -- and this was the perfect place for it. While you can't quite make out the lake from the cabin (though i'm sure you can once some of the leaves come down), it's just a short walk across the road. Spectacular beach was nice to walk, and it's not far from Pancake Bay, which offered some really great hiking. Gorgeous area. Would love to go back.”
Staying at Norm's Cabin is a unique experience. You can only access the cabin by hiking or cycling the approximately 8 km distance to the cabin, although there are longer route options for the ultra-keen. We provide a shuttle service to help get your food and gear out to the rustic cabin. The cabin is fully furnished and has propane fueled appliances. There is no running water or electricity.
“My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time at Norms. Gorgeous sunrises, clean lake, clean cabin. We absolutely adored canoeing there, it was our favourite part of the trip. As city people, the silence was astounding and so refreshing— as well as terrifying at night, just because we weren’t used to it, haha! But that was just our minds, it was completely safe otherwise. Extremely peaceful and private. The hike, as everybody was saying, is quite long. We took a 5km detour on our way there and that was quite brutal— it took us an overall 6hrs. We made the mistake of forgetting to bring snacks and water with us too so that made it extremely hard. But the hike the second round on the way back to the car was better. We were prepared with snacks and didn’t take the detour so it took us only 2.5 hrs. Also the swamp is SWAMPY, get waterproof shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Best of all, Carol was an absolutely lovely host. She made sure to have extra water after learning we didn’t have enough on our first hike there. She gave us great tips about what time we should be arriving there to maximize our time and enjoy it. You can tell she wanted to be sure we enjoyed our time there. And we definitely did!”
