Footbridge Farm is a quiet country get-away located on 90 wooded acres, 15 miles NE of Decorah. We are close to the mouth of Canoe Creek, the Upper Iowa River and adjacent to state DNR land. The cozy owner-built cabin has an open ceiling with exposed beams and rafters giving a sense of spaciousness. Local stone was used in the exterior walls and the floor-to-ceiling fire back behind the wood-burning stove. The floors are oak and slate. Detailed craftsmanship can be found throughout the cabin.

A great location for visiting the many parks in the surrounding area. Less than a 10 minute drive to Effigy Mounds National Mounument or Pikes Peak State Park. The space was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Summer was friendly and offered easy instructions for checking in and out. If we're ever visiting the area again, we would definitely consider booking another stay here.

Mandi was super responsive and flexible, and it’s a great, trustworthy place to stay in the small town of Clayton. The few restaurants are closed in the town from Monday to Wednesday but there are good places to eat just 10 minutes down the road in Guttenberg, open all week. Very clean, tidy, and a super peaceful spot with great views of the Mississippi and the bluffs!

Ben’s place is in a rural and peaceful area. Great view of the valleys of NE Iowa. Nice patio/ fire pit area. The garage/man cave was great because the second night we couldn’t have a fire due to strong winds. So we played shuffleboard . Ben was very responsive and his place was perfect for our trout fishing trip. Would rent again in a heartbeat!!
