Renovated historic Japanese house over 80 years old/Free parking/2 toilets/Private house for rent

JillRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The accommodation gave us a chance to stay in an old styled building with modern facilities within it. Access to the house from the allocated car park a few hundred metres away could have been clearer but it was not too difficult to find with the help of Google maps. We were walking distance from the main street in Takayama which made exploring the town really easy. The sleeping arrangements were also perfect for our 3-generation family. The kitchen had all that was necessary. We definitely had a good stay and would recommend this place to our friends.

The check-in instructions were very polite, and I was grateful for the quick response. The inn was a very relaxing space surrounded by special furniture. The air I breathed in the morning in the veranda garden was very pleasant. It was a place I would definitely like to stay again!

The best view from a house on a hillside! Renovated traditional Japanese house/132 ㎡, even 6 people can relax

IoannaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A spacious, light, dream home away from home! Take me back... Fukusukeya is the perfect mixture of Japanese tradition and innovation, created by the most welcoming, thoughtful, generous hosts. From the hallway, to the bathroom, to the kitchen, everything you need is waiting for you. I have never slept better than on the futons in the beautiful tatami room – and the armchair in the living room is so cozy it feels like you are being hugged by Totoro. Located a peaceful neighbourhood and surrounded by nature, the house enjoys huge views out to the mountains from the many windows – as well as a zen garden just for you. Everything you could possibly wish to visit in lovely Hida Takayama is just steps away too. I could not recommend this home more highly – or be more grateful to Ryohei for his kindness and hospitality. If you are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stay in this delightful home, I cannot imagine you will have anything other than a magical time!

Love host. Fumi was very helpful and an excellent host! The room had a little "Balcony" where I loved the view to the garden. I loved the location close to the forest - it gave the ultimate Takayama experience. I will recommend this place if you ant to experience authentic Japan. Arigato!

Tanekura Inn. 1 group relaxing stay with breakfast

SatoshiRating, 5 stars1 day ago
In a very unique place called Taneura, where the scenery of rice terraces and Itakura spreads out, I was able to relax in nature and stay in a very relaxed mood. Before the visit, I went to a facility called "Hida Forest Blessing" in Furukawa, but it seems that Hida City is focusing on medicinal herbs, and at this inn, I was able to pick medicinal herbs while listening to various stories from Shinji, the host, and take a medicinal herb bath.I also made soba noodles, and in the evening I was able to eat the soba noodles I made myself with medicinal herb tempura at the irori. There are many foreign tourists coming in, but it is also recommended for Japanese people who want to relax.I think there were times when it was difficult due to the coronavirus, but I hope that the current environment and services will continue in the future.

A very beautiful house and a pleasant host. But it would be better if there’s a bigger pot to use for a family of 4 or more. Overall very excellent experience!
