Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Middletown

Lena was wonderful. She warmly welcomed me and my guest, making our stay very comfortable and easy. She even left me a note with birthday wishes, along with a box of delicious baked cookies. The apartment is charming and spacious, located on top of their home, with a large yard and peaceful scenery.

Wonderful and peaceful stay for a relaxing girls weekend. Outstanding clean and comes with everything you may need. The space is kid friendly, and extremely beautiful. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing house! We rented the lake house and guest house to spend time with family and friends during our son’s graduation at Wesleyan. I stayed in the guest house. It was so cozy with great modern amenities. It was the perfect place to relax and close to the school. Being close the lake was a definite plus. I highly recommend!!!

Jan's house was a great stay with plenty of room for six adults. We loved the game room and outdoor hot tub. Instructions for the hot tub were clear and easy to follow. We'd definitely stay again!

My wife, friends, and I had an awesome time, and Thomas is very thoughtful. Second time renting from him, and last time I mentioned we made smores. For my wife, it was her first time. Guess what? He left us a smores kit! Thanks again, Thomas!

Me and a few friends spent the weekend at Lauren’s since we had a wedding in East Haddam. Lauren’s home was lovely, and we especially loved the friendly chickens in the backyard! The beds were extremely comfortable and the home was perfect for our needs. Thank you so much for having us!

Well equipped, clean, functional space. Back porch and patio is fantastic for expanding the space and ease of entertainment. Caught some pretty good catfish and carp right off the back stairs/landing. Convenient to many amenities with easy access from rt159 and rt57.

Kristen was an amazing host. She was a kind, responsive, and helpful. We asked for an early check-in and with no hesitation, Kristen said yes. We were even offered a late check out, though we didn’t need it. The house rules and information was all so clear that we didn’t have any questions during our stay. The house was clean, had everything we needed and more, and was comfortable for us and our kids. The open living area was so nice, especially for kids. We were able to cook, eat, and play, and see everyone at the same time. Since we have family in the area we plan to return to Kristen’s house in the future! What a great weekend we had in a beautiful and comfortable home away from home! Thank you Kristen!

I was happy to return to this beautiful & peaceful location for a 2nd time, a literal oasis this visit despite the rain. The design and amenities in the studio are stunning and make for a comfortable, effortless stay. Thankfully a sunny morning enabled an enjoyable lovely wander through the trails on the property, a great way to start my day! Bert is a superb host!

It was clear that the host put thought into making guests feel welcome—there was a mini chocolate bar and a bottle of water waiting for each of us when we arrived, which was such a kind touch after a long day of travel. Check-in was smooth, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked perfectly. While we didn’t spend much time there beyond resting, it was the perfect place to recharge. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, convenient, and cozy spot!

I chose Marlene’s lovely spot primarily because it was in a location convenient for short trips to visit family and friends in Wallingford, Middlebury and Middletown while on my way south from New Hampshire. The peaceful, quiet surroundings along with a spotless, well-appointed accommodation made it very appealing: highly recommended.

Dawn and Bob’s place is one of the top Airbnb’s we have stayed in! Top notch in every way. It was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed. And on top of that Dawn and Bob were the most friendly hosts we have met! I would recommend this Airbnb without reservation and will be back whenever we are back in CT!

Great spot! It’s huge. Much larger than the photos seem. It’s the entire third floor with windows All around. Great views of the sky over the housetops.

Beautiful fall stay at Jo’s! Loved the space, amenities, and especially all the directions and recommendations for the area. Will definitely come back again if we are in the area.

My family and dog really enjoyed the cozy cabin. The yard is fun. While the stairs are challenging as described... it was also fun. While small, it has everything you need. as mentioned in other reviews, it is pretty close to the road. Our check-in with Lois was smooth and all the information we needed. it was great being able to walk over to the trail. Thank you so much.

Lovely and Rustic for sure. A bit of a hike 10-15 minutes up to it. Bed is comfy too.

We enjoyed this woodsy, serene property! Well stocked, lovely home on a beautiful lot adjacent to trail. Magical outdoor sitting area w/ fire ring @ creekside. Nice deck for bird watching, pictoresque windows w/ nature views in living room. Filtered instant hot water for tea is a plus! Large house w/ 1 bathroom. Note- King sized bed is upstairs & bathroom's downstairs. When we booked listing didn't mention but Fruzsi opened up a small bedroom, w/ queen-sized bed, for us, on the same lower level as the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable & we slept well. We had to adjust living room couch from time time when watching a movie. Sections/cushions shifted apart. Bathroom was well stocked. Shower pressure's light, w/ an adjustment water was hot long enough to take a bath. Addressed cleanliness issues in the living room, bathroom & kitchen w/ Fruzsi. She was very responsive. None of these were deal breakers. Highly recommend this home to others, overall great value! Would stay again!

Beautiful property. Very spacious. We could hear all the wildlife every morning. Sitting on the porch swings was our favorite. The house is so nice and secluded. Mary was very responsive when we had questions. Definitely would stay again. Wonderful stay!

Pictures don’t do it justice! The place is super adorable and relaxing. Great views and vibes. Personal touches that make you feel like you’re visiting a friends home instead of an Airbnb. Highly recommend!

One word… Perfect! This was my first time staying at this location, and it was beyond perfect. The views are absolutely stunning, the home was cozy, and — most importantly to me — it was spotless. The most connected with nature I’ve ever felt. The best place to disconnect from the world and just enjoy some good scenery and peace.

We spent a long weekend at Dennis’ place and it was nothing short of amazing. Our aim was to relax and enjoy the lake, and we did just that. The house was exactly as described, matched and exceeded our expectations; furnished and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. If we’re back in CT, we won’t hesitate to book the house again!
