Beachfront vacation rentals in Middlesex County

We had a wonderful getaway at this vacation home! It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature, with plenty of cute shops and charming spots to explore nearby. The house itself was very comfortable and well-suited for our family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.

Kendall has wonderful hospitality! It was the perfect peaceful getaway, with gorgeous views, beautiful sunsets, picturesque, and the perfect beach cottage! We had an amazing time and it was perfect for our family (including puppy). Perfect for an unplugged vacation since there is no wifi! We will definitely be back!

Our 4 day girls trip could not have been better! This was the best spot to enjoy the Bay, the Beach, Small town and City life! The home was absolutely breathtaking, had everything we needed to move right in for our stay! They provided material for us to venture out and a fun environment to stay in! From board games, to movies, pool table, ping pong, basketball, poker, hot tub you name it they have it. The communication was quick, professional but extremely friendly! You walk in and it immediately felt like home. I would 10 out of 10 recommend! Miss it already! And don't forget to bring fruit and feed the turtles!

This was our 4th stay at Gwynn Island so we were well familiar with the house. We will likely return again in the fall for some more fishing from the pier, relaxation on the porch and the sunroom. The place is well appointed including both a "normal" coffee pot and a Keurig, a large gas grill with side burner and multiple gas bottles, a separate crab pot gas cookers. Lot's of comfortable seating available for a sofa snooze or reading. We really enjoy the pier the most. We were a bit to early for crabs in the traps but tried. Fishing however was a ball, lots of small spot with a few larger ones on the ultralight. This year I tried a larger, stouter rod (small surf rod w/large reel and 40lb test and steel bottom rig using chunks of spot for bait and caught several nice bluefish dinners, a couple dozen skates from 3-10 lbs and maybe a half dozen bigger Cownose rays. One I to the rocks after a 30 minute fight and got photos. It was 3-1/2 feet wide and maybe 40 lbs. Great time!

My family really enjoyed staying at Briana’s home. The location was amazing! The set-up of the house worked very well for us. Loved the private beach! We definitely plan to visit again.

Our multi-generational family loved our two weeks at Big Bay. The house is well-appointed and comfortable, and the beach, which you can see from the living room, dining room, and kitchen, is stunning. Water toys (paddle boards, floats, PFDs, chairs, etc.) are available in the garage under the house. There have been updates to the deck since the photos were taken - the side deck on the left of the house when you’re looking from the water is covered and screened with a table and the aforementioned outdoor kitchen. It’s a great place to enjoy the nice weather and catch the breeze without having to worry about the sun. Just in front of the screened-in area is a large, comfortable couch. Susan let us know before we arrived that a couple of the burners on the grill in the outdoor kitchen weren’t working & provided us a different grill from one of her other properties to use instead. We really appreciated that she was proactive and it was a great solution for our needs. We hope to return!

Such a perfect end of summer trip as two families of four. We spent almost the entire time outside, using the standup paddle boards at our small private beach, which is less than half a mile from the house and really easy to get to. The kids had so much fun, feeding the pigs and visiting the cows. We brought the kids bikes as all of the little back Roads were really fun to navigate, the kids said they would love to go back! The hosts were excellent, delicious ciders for the adults right next-door and we got ground beef and steaks from them for both the nights We were there to grill out.

Bayhamas was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peace. Indoors was comfy and backyard and beach were great for us and our dogs. So happy to find such a gem especially one that accepts dogs. Will definitely book again soon!

My daughter found this gem online to book for my 65th birthday and a family get-together on the Northern Neck. We stay in Airbnb homes quite frequently all over the world and this is the loveliest home we've had the good fortune to stay in. Christine is the most gracious host and this home is special because she has made it that way for her family. It's a huge difference to stay in a vacation home that the host rents and a home that the host lives in. Christine's eye for beauty is exquisite and the home is comfortable as well as beautiful. It seldom happens that you say, "I wish the house had (fill in the blank)" and this house has it. The river is a gorgeous backdrop and there are kayaks to use. The saltwater pool is a great addition and a reason to hang at the house. And there is everything one needs to knock out a meal or if you don't want to cook, plenty of places to eat in the area. All in all, this house is a 15 out of 10!!

Wow.. where do I start? I have a strict heart healthy diet. Only whole grain products with no dairy, meat, nuts, and oil. Brenda communicated well before the start to make sure her special dinner and breakfast dishes met my requirements. Brenda did a magnificent job. Not were the meals outstanding, the setting for her air b&b is perfect. The Northern Neck is a special place in Virginia. Staying at Brenda’s “Perfect View” in the Northern Neck was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience!

Joslyn was a FANTASTIC host, and her home was even more beautiful in person than in the pics. The house was clean, clutter free and had all the amenities. The water views were to die for! We stayed at the end of December, and would LOVE to come back during the summer. If you're looking for a beautiful home with plenty of charm, peace and tranquility, then look no further. THIS IS IT! My family and I had a terrific stay. The house was very accommodating, clean, and comfortable. Allison was a great help and responded quickly to every inquiry. The outdoor space is great - we used the fire pit every night and I brought my boat and kept it at the dock. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed for the weekend and really loved MJ’s property. The home is situated on the bay with paddle boards and kayaks available which we used to explore the area. The nature is unbelievable. We ate oysters straight from the private bay in the backyard. MJ is wonderful and provided great recs for local spots to go to at night. There is also a pond on the property which my husband went fishing at and caught a few black bass! (Just for fun!). At night we lit a fire out back and relaxed under the stars with the other guests. In the morning MJ cooked a delicious breakfast. We will definitely be back. Book now!

This home was amazing - Jack and Beth were wonderful - everything we needed was right there - game room was perfect for the kids - the house was tremendous and spotless and perfect and I can’t say enough great things about my experience. I would 110% recommend this home to anyone!! Book it!!!

We brought our dog along for a beach adventure at The Laughing King. We had an amazing time and MJ was a wonderful host. We stayed in the little hi eymoon cottage and it was quaint and well-appointed. The loft ladder was a bit tricky but once you got up there the bed was super comfortable! We enjoyed walking around and exploring Cape Charles (just a quick 15/20 minute car ride away with plenty of free street parking around town) but our favorite day was playing out on the private sand bar with our dog. We all had a blast on the sandbar and next time will pack a lunch and stay out longer! The property itself was secluded, quiet and private. Perfect for sitting on the porch with coffee watching the tide roll in. They had paddle boards and kayaks to use in the calm backwaters as well as a fire pit and a nice pool. The reviews about MJs wonderful breakfasts were spot on - his quiche was superb. Overall we had a wonderful time at The Laughing King and we would highly recommend it

We had such an amazing stay! Our kids had the time of their lives enjoying the beach, feeding the turtles, catching fish and riding their bikes. This is our favorite place to spend weekends away!

Justin’s place was perfect for our work trip stay! The house is very spacious and clean. We loved that the house felt more up to date than some of the others in the area! Justin was great at responding and had very clear instructions!

The views were stunning, the house was gorgeous, and the hosts are incredibly friendly. It is apparent how much they care about their guests and how much they care for their property. We felt welcomed from the beginning. The dogs were friendly and fun. The house had a wonderful attention to detail, with emphasis on the stunning paintings (most of which were painted by Marjorie herself). Very grateful for our time spent here. We loved it and we will definitely be back!

I’ve stayed at many vacation rentals, and this one is definitely one of the best! The location is unbeatable—convenient enough for quick errands, grocery runs, or a little shopping, but far enough to feel like a true getaway. The views from both inside and outside the house are absolutely stunning. The water is crystal clear and shallow, creating a peaceful and serene environment. While there’s no traditional beach, as the tide goes out, a bit of "beach" emerges, and it’s shallow enough to set up a chair right in the water. We did just that, and it was pure bliss! The house itself is beautifully decorated, cozy, and incredibly well-appointed. We cooked all weekend and found everything we needed to prepare meals with ease. Rebecca was also a pleasure to communicate with—responsive and thoughtful. We truly had a fantastic experience, and we can’t wait to return!

Wow! What a fabulous loft! Karin paid attention to every detail. The loft was well-stocked and had everything you need! Most impressive were the immaculate nature of the space and the VIEWS! The balcony was the best place for a morning cup of coffee...secluded, private, peaceful, and beautiful! This loft is brand new and so clean! Karin also allowed me to check out late and was an excellent communicator! Check in was easy and her directions were clear! Thanks for an amazing stay, Karin. I'll be booking next year, same time!

we had a great time. My family and I spent the week in Eventide visiting with my son, daughter in law and month old granddaughter who live in Saluda. Eventide was a perfect location and close to my son. The accommodation were great and even worked out well for my 91 year old grandmother. We would definitely like to return often for visits with family. Diane was a great host and so accommodating and responsive. You will not be disappointed. So peaceful and relaxing.

Ned & Holly's home was a perfect get away. The unit itself is simple and comfortable. It is well appointed for essential needs. Ned & Holly add extra nice touches like a food basket and local guide. The cherry on top is the direct access to the water and available kayak and paddle board. The water option on its own is worth the price of admission. Couldn't have been more delighted.
